How does ColossusCoin2.0 Proof of Stake work?

Proof of Stake means proving ownership of the amount owned through time. When someone sends ColossusCoin2 Coins to your wallet they are encoded with the time at which they have been received and begin to accumulate Coinage. Coinage is measured by the amount of Coins times the number of days they have been stationary in your wallet. After 7 days of being stationary in your wallet, Coins will be eligible to "Stake" and will compete on the network to prove ownership. Coinage accumulates automatically, you do not need to have your wallet running but once your ColossusCoin2 Coins are past the minimum age of 7 days, they will only Stake once your wallet is open and connected to the network.

Coin Control

You can view the sizes of all your Blocks, by using the Coin Control feature located in the "Send Coins" tab of your wallet and can sort them by addresses, size, weight and time received

Coin control lets you view your transactions and the amount of Coins in each Block you have along with it's confirmations.
You can enable it by going into "settings" then "options" and under the "display" tab, choose "display Coin control" and apply the changes.



Then you go back to the Wallet and go to "Send Coins" and you can now view a list of all your Blocks and can sort it by size, confirmations or addresses.



You can gain the most Stake reward by managing the sizes of your Blocks with Coin Control, you can select multiple smaller Blocks and send them to yourself to combine them into one larger Block so they Stake sooner, or select a larger block and send smaller amounts to yourself to so you have more Blocks competing on the network for higher rewards. Each time you send a transaction, it costs 20 CV2 and it resets the Coinage back to zero to begin accumulating once again.

Your reward per day and per year is based on the amount of Coins you own, the sizes of the Blocks of Coins, and the amount of people Staking their Coins on the network. If there is a low amount of people Staking their Coins, smaller Blocks of Coins will Stake sooner for higher rewards ie. If you Stake but other people do not, you receive the rewards that they would have received.

The Block size should be over 50,000 CV2. If you make them over 100,000 CV2, you'll stake quicker but you'll have less imputs. Having more smaller blocks on the other hand will have them to stake later, but since you have more imputs you have more chances to stake.

The Block size should be over 50,000 CV2. If you make them over 100,000 CV2, you'll stake quicker but you'll have less imputs. Having more smaller blocks on the other hand will have them to stake later, but since you have more imputs you have more chances to stake.

I would recommend you to split them up into larger Blocks such as 80,000 CV2 each Block to Stake. You would gain 5000 CV2 coins per Block that you Stake plus the fees included in the Block.
Stack size of 80,000 CV2 coins should be pretty good and you should get some good results!

Coin control is an important tool for Proof of Stake (PoS) coins and lets users see what is happening during coin operations. By default when coins are sent, the coins are selected by giving priority to coins with lowest coin age blocks of coin – alternatively coin control lets users select specific coin blocks to use for transactions

ColossusCoin2 has a static PoS block reward of 5,000 CV2 combined with a block target of 120 seconds.  This means that if you have very large blocks of coin you might not get the full rewards. In order to ensure you get the full rewards, I encourage you to split into blocks around 50 -100k CV2 all into one address.

Splitting Larger Blocks to Smaller Blocks

First you need to enable it by clicking on Tools -> Options -> Display -> Display coin control features -> ok




Go to Coin Control Features on the Send coins dialog. In version v1.2.0 of the Colossuscoin wallet it is named Inputs.



Click List mode



Select the block you would like to split and press ok



Click SplitBlock and enter the number of blocks. For example 10, if you want to split it into 10 Blocks.
Enter the size you want into the Amount field at the bottom. For example 850,000 CV2, if you want to split it into 10 equal Blocks of 85,000 CV2 each
Put your address in the Pay To field and click send



Confirm and send coins



The chance to hit a POS Block depends on the number of Coins in the Block (transaction sent to your wallet), time passed since they have remained stationary in your wallet (minmum 7 days and maximum 28 days) and network Staking activity (more Staking activity reduces the chance per person overall)

Benefits of larger blocks:

* Lowers the CPU use to run stake (multiple small blocks are more difficult to process)
* Faster generation of stake (wastes less power running computers)

Benefits of smaller blocks:

How to keep an eye on the price of your current holdings:

I found a very useful site a couple of weeks ago called, CountMyCrypto, that allows you to add various coins that you may hold and the quantity you have. It will then give you a decent approximate valuation in multiple currencies including how much BTC (bitcoin) they are worth. It also looks great on your mobile device, so is a great way to keep an aye on your investments when you are out and about. It will remember your holding, so when you next open the page, it will have an updated valuation for you.
