You are not losing half your investment since the total supply will also be cut in half.

Less supply = higher value. The value of the new tokens you receive will be pretty much the same if not higher than the old ones.

They are reducing the coin supply, so yes you will have less coins in your wallets but will your coins be worth less?  
Absolutely not, the supply is significantly lower meaning its more appealing to investors because there is less fear.

Additionally on top of the significant coin reduction, there is masternodes this further reduces circulating supply by incentivizing large holders and helping them keep their coins.
So while your x amount of coins may become x*.5 your coins will be better, stronger and part of a smaller supply increasing their value.

This is because they want to cut the amount of coins in half.  from 22 billion to 12 billion, I think that is a good thing.  Usually coins with an insane high number are cheaper. And some people don't take coins with too much in circulation not that serious

You have to swap it on nova through their coinswap option yourself otherwise it'll remain as cv2.  They will not force you to swap, but its your loss if you do not.
