A 6 year old girl died after a small boat she was in capsized in Rio Maicuru in Cauçu community in Monte Alegre. When they girl was found, she was already dead and she had been partly devoured by piranhas. According to the family, the victim was with other children and her grandmother in a canoe when the boat capsized. The grandmother tried to save the girl but could not hold onto her. Community residents started the search and found the body. The body was collected and sent to the morgue of the Municipal Hospital of Monte Alegre and was subsequently released to family members. The girl was spending the holidays with her grandparents.
The biker crashed into a truck and trailer at high speed smashing his leg badly..
He later died in the emergency room.
