The Strugatzki Brothers' Noon Universe, and Ian Banks' Culture areboth great sci-fi utopias.
Star Trek is utopian but rather bland.

For nightmares, no book ever gave me worse than 1984. Though it isn't sci-fi any more Sad. Warhaamer 40k is designed tobenightmare fuel, but too silly for that

Although most people can agree on what a nightmare is, the definition of utopia varies from person to person. One person's utopia is another's dystopia.

Therefore, I actually cannot think of a single example of a truly utopian universe, although I must say the Star Trek universe comes pretty close. The films Idiocracy and The Matrix portray a couple of my favorite dystopian ones.

I had to google that and the main result was Winnie the Pooh. This is confusing.

Stargate travel would be great, as long as the destination planets are friendly.
The worst? Maybe being a Borg drone.

I would be perfectly happy living as a Hobbit (with an Elvish wife) in the Shire.  Smiley

Here's a list of them to choose from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_science_fiction_universes (though why aren't the Matrix, Stargate or h2g2 universes in there? Needs edits...)

Ugh, I can't decide whether the only ones I'm familiar with (in order of depth) are more utopia than dystopia.
h2g2
Stargate
Matrix
Star Trek
Star Wars
Whoniverse

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.
