Guys, it's basically impossible to use a bot on en.lichess.org They can pick up behaviors that are common in bots and ban cheaters. I made a chat room so we all can talk about this.

we'll thing is you don't actually need a bot, just a 3rd party help program. whenever you're stuck o na move just type in the board layout and you'll get the best move handed to you.

The chatroom is https://chatstep.com/#BTCchess Just choose a nickname. No password required. I am thinking about changing to lightning chess. Cheaters wont have time to input moves on a 3rd party program. This will probably solve our problem.

Great, good initiative, we need more stuff like this. What game will it be? i guess it will be with an online multiplayer game.

Yes, it will be online multiplayer. It will all be done on a website. Reddit wasn't as enthusiastic about my idea. Glad to know that this forum is accepting of new ideas! If you would like to participate, e-mail me. Having you on-board would be a pleasure Smiley.

Post the URL of the site where the "fair gambling" will occur ... don't be shy.

Need 8 people ? You aren't going to pull Derren's trick are you?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evZmpsl3jI0

.07 x 222usd x 8 = 124usd...I suppose the host keeps the profits as well?

I just watched the vid. Fu**ing awesome trick. But, how did he guess the no. at the end ?

Lightning chess?  Probably 2-1 would be a better choice.  Too much lag in your connection and you could lose any advantage.  Anyway, I am interested.

Derren is also an amazing pickpocket so could have swapped the envelopes with one an assistant wrote down after the game. The footage of him manhandling the chessmaster was likely edited out.

Here are some of his techniques on display - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br2YfuR-Iv0

Escrow address: 1PL328CQNaY2J1SpUZgeyVwwdQr2Cspuqy

Escrow Terms: Funds will be held in escrow for 10 days. If all slots are not filled within 10 days,
The funds will be sent back to the sending address. In other words, if
One person signs up, then everyone else must sign up within 10
Days or we will have to restart. Do not send funds to the stated address if you do not agree to the above terms.

We will follow the OPs suggestions, but the USD value will be adjusted based on the avg market price of BTC. Once a winner is chosen, he will be sent $100 (can vary depending on market), the OP will receive $20 (also varies) and I will keep $4 (variable).  If there is any suspicion of cheating or OP not following through, all funds will be sent back to original users and I will forfeit my escrow fee. (This must be publicly agreed upon by the majority).

If none of that makes sense, let me know and I will revise.

There are many chess engines that will work for Chess960. Those that don't work (because the starting position is illegal for a regular chess game) will begin to work as soon as a position that could be legally reached in a regular chess game is reached

Chess should be played for fun, not against strangers online for money. Cheating is an issue in chess even at high level tournaments. It is absolutely a serious issue online.

It could be nice if someone could setup a method where you have a web cam looking over the shoulder of every player, to prevent them from using chess devices or online guides.

You have 1 cam positioned on the player and one on his computer screen... That would make cheating very difficult. Audio must be enabled to eliminate verbal couching.

The player must also be willing to move the cam around at the request of the other player, to eliminate other angles of cheating.

This is a very difficult game to "Police" .... If there is money on the line, people will cheat... but it's still a good idea.  Grin

I admire op patience with all the cheater stories.

I agree that it may be a huge problem, especially if there are programs that let you replicate the random start order.

How would you detect a cheater playing opponents moves against a computer and then simulating this computers moves?

If it is for cheating or using aids to compete, all will be in similar conditions. Also, some might call their expert chess friend to aid them.
