"Yobit pump alert software" Link in my signature!

Im almost ready to buy. My biggest frustration is finding the pool that has the highest hash. I dont want to hear that I can "still make money on other lower hash pools", because its simply not true. So say I buy smarterhash, and it tells me that goldcoin is the most profitable for me. Problem is lets say the difficulty is 90. Im now searching for the pool that is getting 99% of the blocks because it has enough hash power, most all the others have none. *IF* your software can tell me which pool has the highest hash for that coin your suggesting I mine, then youve got me sold on your highest plan. Ive read a bit, and smarterhash does look good, but does it tell you which pool has the highest hash? If not do you plan to implement this in the very near future?

Vegas

I want to make sure everyone knows that I just released my software called "Yobit pump alert". THis is custom software that uses an algo to detect the start of a pump here on yobit, the second it starts. YOu can even filter the coins you see by price. Most pumps start less than 100 sats , so you can easily filter the cheap coins, so they are the only ones displayed Smiley https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1945937.msg20241953#msg20241953

You should check hash-to-coins.com -- they tend to have the most hash in general for Scrypt coins.

Otherwise - a lot of the hash comes from private pools - which you cannot join anyway.

Vegasguy - thanks for your question - before I answer it please tell me how much hash you have to mine with.

thanks

I have a Kncminer Titan Batch 2. 400MHS. I have that now, and another one I ordered will be here in about a week. So for now 400MHs.

thanks or that info - a couple of other items first: as it relates to GLD

I see you were mining on lifeforce pools and commented that you were leaving because the GLD pool had only found orphans blocks. and since there are only a few goldcoin pools I checked one of the others http://gld.minepool.net/statsAuth and saw you went there and found the same problem - orphan blocks. as it relates to GLD is  - it's not the pool, it's the coin.

You mentioned on the chatbox in the pools that GLD had two minute blocks times - well that is what they advertise but that's not the case in real life.

SmarterHash members know GLD is not a profitable coin to mine (at this time) and I'm sure about the real life stats on GLD because I run 3 different GLD wallets right now compiled on 3 different servers.

One on Lifeforce Pools
One on the SamrterHash server
and a third in the SmarterHash Pools - which will be open in about 2 weeks to SmarterHash members.

As a SmarterHash member you would have been able to see that GLD (as of this writing) had only generated 87 block in the prior 24 hours and in terms of value has only generated $11.74 in coins

You be able to see these stats as they are updated at least once every two to 3 minutes as our back end checks the locks chains of over 50 scrypt coins and updates the database.

In addition you'd be able to display a chart showing Network Hash, Blocks Generated & Difficulty for any of the coins we monitor - for ,he past 24 hours. 48 hours or 7 days.

Having this kind of information at your fingertips would have pointed you in another direction other than Goldcoin because with your 400 MH/s - in the past 24 hours there were 22 coins more profitable than GLD. The bottom line is that I used to do the same math as you - look at advertised block specs, value and coins per block and then mined away only to find that time after time I was never getting the income I expected which is why I developed SmarterHash - out of frustration more than anything else.

Is SmarterHash perfect?  not by any means  - it's not a crystal ball - it can't predict the future, it can't tell what what Network Hash will be in the future or coin value but what's it great at is giving your ACCURATE information on which to base your mining decision and keep you from mining the wrong coin and wasting hash.

That's why we have so many charts because I know that a great predictor of the future (on average) as it relates to coins are past statistics which is why all of our charts contain trend lines.

thanks!

Right now GLD is performing well -- 2 to 3 minute blocks.

The key to avoiding orphans is to be on a super fast (and EFFICIENT) pool that has the majority of hash (or better create your own solo pool that has majority hash).

It is all about "brute force."  In addition - many coins do not show the total net hash accurately -- it is always delayed especially on coins where the difficulty does not reset for many blocks (like GLD).  So you won't always know what the majority hash could be.

This is the case with 42 coin.  Most pools showed tons of orphans for 42 coin -- except for hash-to-coins.com.  They had majority of hash and the also have a custom programmed backend.  The pool owner is a genius and an expert programmer -- he writes the code.  So this pool has a lot of advantages and gets very few orphans (compared to the rest).

of course this can all be verified through the block chain explorer here: http://gld.cryptocoinexplorer.com/block/

the block chain doesn't not bear out that assertion

Sorry - I should have put my disclaimer.  My bad!

Blocks 244069 to 244140 (when averaged) were showing 2-3 minutes.

At this very moment - yes - the blocks are now slow.

I will be more exact next time - my apologies.

Since GLD is not showing accurate Network hash - it is hard to determine what the issue might be - if there is an issue.  Most likely the net hash has dropped significantly, therefore at a high difficulty - the blocks will take much longer.

I wish all the Altcoins could give everyone exact statistics -- but they don't.  So many coins do not tell accurate net hash.  One huge example is SONG coin.  OMG - it can be delayed by 12 hours or more.

Without knowing the accurate net hash of a coin - it is hard to provide good stats or calculations.

This is one of the reasons the block chain is so important in terms of estimating income and to track and give timely estimates on s we do in SmarterHash/

there is no doubt that difficulty play s a vital role in a number of coins but regardless of difficulty - but if a coin is producing blocks at a consistent rate then regardless of difficulty - those blocks are being divided up by the people mining the coin and it does not take long at all whether mining solo or in a pool to see what percentage of the blocks you are getting when you compare your hash vs. reported network hash and most of the coins are fairly accurate al though all take time to start reporting substantial increases in hash rates. I know this because I jump in and out of a few coins daily and I see the reported hash rate and I know that I'm adding.

actaually I am going to have to disagree with you here because on the last block explosion in SNG the reported hash rates in my charts were only lagging by about 20 minutes

Try it - go ahead and put 500Mh/s on SONG and see if the reported net hash changes within a couple of blocks.

It will not.

Somehow there is a bug on how the net hash is reported.  It is something like the more hash applied to the coin - the faster the net hash will update - but it is never in real time - never.  The lower the net hash - the slower it is to update.

A lot of coins have this issue.

Right now (as I type) - the developer of SNG is mining on YOUR pool with about 80Mh/s.  The reported net hash for SNG is 146.39.  There might be a few Mh/s coming from somewhere else - but it doesn't come close to making up the difference.

we'll find out because I just threw 160 mh/s at SNG a few minutes ago and we'll see how long it takes for it to report the increase... 5 minutes in right now

I take it you are using your "soon to come" pool, as the developer (Dynoman) is the only one showing any mining on your LifeForcePool.

He's hashing at about 100 to 120Mh/s and the reported net hash is still 146.39.

Well it is 16:43 UTC - and the Net hash for SNG is still reported as 146.4 Mh/s.

While according to you and what is shown on your Lifeforcepool - it should show about 300Mh/s.

I don't know what point you are trying to make.  Go ahead and waste your hash on SNG.  It pays terribly right now and coin development is basically frozen.  Only reason the developer is mining it is so that the block chain doesn't come to a halt and that the coin doesn't get delisted from C-Cex.

you said up to 24 hours...

if my memory serve me correctly if was more like 30 to 45 minutes - regardless it's a good test for others to base future calculations on - I don't see it as a waste - it's research. Trust me when I tell you that I supposed I've 'wasted' lost of hash on research determining the best stratum difficulties for different coins in the past and I'm sure I will continue to t do in the future.

however in terms of the fear of getting de-listed my feedback thus far from exchanges it that it has more to do with volume than how many coins are mined - especially since there are so many POS stake coins that are not getting delisted.

I think I said 12 hours - but does it really matter??

The point made here is that net hash is not accurate for SNG.

Being off by just 30 minutes or an hour on many coins can allow someone to make poor choices.

This issue plagues so many altcoins, so it is hard to have accurate realtime information for many coins.

Look - your Smarterhash site is cool.  Lots of numbers, recommendations and charts.  I'm not bashing it.  I have a subscription to it, as I was curious.  In my situation, it doesn't help me any -- but I'm sure for others it does.

Yes - I know it is all about the trends - and the blocks per day - yada yada yada.

But do we have to argue back and forth about the net hash thing?  By now this "issue" should be common knowledge.

We're all experimenting with coins to see what happens when we do xxx.  Let's just share the information (or don't) and smoke a peace pipe.

Oh and finally on the "delisted" thing.  A coin will get delisted if the block chain is not moving.  Yes - C-Cex requires .2BTC volume per day -- but they also require a block chain that runs properly.  Very little hash + high difficulty == block chain issues.
