Faucets are great for beginners to add a few bits to their wallets.
Faucet owners earn money from ads.

I feel the amount that people earn is too low for any good. They are not worth much. exactly. Good only for the first week. Once you realise how little you may earn that way, look immediately for something better, i.e., paid to watch adds, signature campaigns, etc.

Once you realise how little you may earn that way, look immediately for something better, i.e., paid to watch adds, signature campaigns, etc. How much time does it take to solve a captha? 5 seconds {I counted it} - If you solved 10 per day, you would have spend +/- 1 minute of your day on that. {Counting all the other little things.. waiting for the site to load etc... not more than 10 minutes max} FreeBitcoin payout is about 1000 Satoshi per hour x 10 = 10 000 Satoshi per day income. {Most will say that is a waste of time... in reality, that increase over a few days and it pays for ALL your transactions/miner fees, when you do transactions} It will not create "dust" because it's only paid at the end of a week, if it's more than a minimum amount. My referral network currently pay ALL my miners fees, and I do not solve a single captha on these faucets. They even pay for my adverticement cost, because a % of my income go directly to my adverticement account. Tell me again, that it's a waste of time.

My point being , there's so many other much more profitable ways to be earning bitcoins can someone explain to me who the people using these are ? and why.
The only people using faucets are the ones that don't understand the point you're making. Mostly noobs. More explanation for those who're still using faucets and are reading this topic: There are only 2 types of Bitcoin faucets: 1. Bad faucets 2. Worst faucets - Calculate the amount of time you spend for filling out CAPTCHAS on faucets. - See how much BTC you earned by spending that time. - Look for a job that you can do and see how much it pays for the same amount of time - See how many Bitcoins you can buy by earning that much of fiat. VOILA! A MOMENT OF LIBERATION !!

It's mostly noobs, who cannot read a whole thread, where it was explained to them, how they can make BTC without having to spend ANY time solving capthas on a faucet... who will make statements like that. I spend time in the beginning, building a referral network, and now I do not have to spend ANY time, to get BTC. {Every week, I get BTC from other people using the faucet} What other work, pay you for doing nothing? Even if you have to solve 10 capthas a day at the start, it will still only take you 10 minutes a day. {What other jobs, pay you for 10 minutes, and how much do they pay you?} There is a lot of unemployed people in this world, and faucets can make a difference to them. { I live in a country, where poor people have access to FREE internet and computers } They pay nothing for electricity and internet access... All income through faucets are pure profit to them. If they supplement income from faucets with other small tasks, it will help them, pay for a meal or a drink. {It takes 10 minutes of their time} $0.10 converted from dollar to other currencies, sometimes multiplies by 10 or even 15... So when these people gets paid in dollar, they get more of their own currency. {Here people can buy a satchel of concentrated powder to make 2Lt of cooldrink for $0.10} Some people have money and look down on people using faucets.. but they are totally missing the point.

Fun in the beginning to see anything else than 0.000000 BTC in your wallet. However, you make less than a few pennies plus if you want to move the coins you would need to pay more coins than what you have.

Personally I'm not looking down on it, I'm trying to figure out the economics of it. As others are I'm sure. I still don't see how it could be worth the time wasted doing it, even in the poorest of countries.

I'm not sure either, the rewards are so low lately. If people stop using them maybe they'll have to increase rewards to get their site visits or to even get noticed.

Do you compare it to the times when faucets gave out 1 bitcoin per hour and one bitcoin was worth 0.50 cents? In those days, hardly anyone knew about bitcoin, so the userbase of a faucet would have been a few hundred people. Things have changed now... the higest paying faucets now pay out to millions of registered users. {Freebitco.in has 1,165,107 registered users} The math to run a profitable faucet these days are staggering and if you get the margin wrong, you will die quickly. @MichealBliss : Believe me, the rich kids of a first world country, will not benefit from using a faucet... they pay more for a cup of coffee than what you would make from a faucet in a year... but for a person in a 3rd world country, that same amount will be the difference between, having a cheap drink or having none at all.

i have no idea how to quote many posts at once :l
If you are using 'Quick Reply' [1], you can click 'quote' as many times you like. If you use normal reply [2], i.e., when you click quote, you go to a new page with icons and text fields, you click 'Insert Quote' [3] to insert as many quotes you like. [1] http://flic.kr/p/ra2cvL[2] http://flic.kr/p/ra2pRN[3] http://flic.kr/p/qUJMuYmy posts are manually counted so my sig campaign doesnt have to include all of them if it doesnt want to
But mods don't want to hear 'how payments are calculated' but... as you didn't know 'how to multi-quote', they may not do anything about the posts you made till today. -MZ thanks for helping out , gonna try to get started with that also guys , i found a bot that actually does captcha's tried it on faucets with succes called " rumola " its not free tho. but this means , that most people using faucets are probably abusing them with bots :/ Rumola is actually a company that pays workers to solve captcha for their customer. It would likely to pass the captcha check as it is actual human solving it. However, the cost per captcha is very high and would make it impossible for anyone to make a profit or may even get loss due to the operating fees.
