How fast would this boy mine?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-FX-8350-Gaming-Computer-1TB-8GB-WIN8-1-GAMES-NVIDIA-GTX-980-4GB-JUICED-/121507975538?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c4a709172

I am planning to buy a gaming computer, not to mine, but to play. I will occasionally mine with it, though.
And yes, I do have a 1.7K$ Budget Smiley

not fast.  and it would be for x11 coins like darkcoin.  I gave up on alt coins no longer track them.  maybe someone else can chime in.

yeah it can do BTC but 1gh at the most which is an insane waste of money.

this below does 425 to 475 gh and it would use 320 to 380 watts.

Regular computer hardware no matter how high performance can no longer mine bitcoin in any meaningful way. Every 1000 dollars spent on electricity with them will earn about 1 dollar's worth of bitcoin and the denomination would be so small that no mining pool would allow you to withdraw it.

Like everyone has said you will just waste energy and wear out your equipment for nothing. Even scrypt isn't really worth it anymore.

Also, you can bet your $1,700 PC would go in the shitter sooner than later, mining.

When you mine, you're basically overclocking the shit out of GPU, so the whole system would produce ridiculous amounts of heat, causing thermal damage to your investment in the long run.  Without proper cooling, you could possibly burn out your video cards, CPU, motherboard if you don't have proper cooling, so it'll be quite risky.

You burn out your rig, and no more Witcher 3 to play...

x11 coins pretty much his only real option.  Obviously if your having to pay for your electricity et all you'll end up paying far more than you ultimately generate unfortunately.  PC mining is basically dead imho.
