Bank hacks
February 17, 2015, 05:13:59 AM
#1
Over a billion dollars stolen from banks, by hackers...(they ain't just targeting Bitcoin, anymore):
http://news.yahoo.com/hackers-1-billion-bank-theft-may-still-impact-213712368.html
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6
confirmations
) will be very difficult to remove.

Links in the Press forum should at least mention Bitcoin. That's the purpose of the Press forum.
I mentioned BTC in the description.

Exactly, does anybody know if the insurance companies have tried to get in on the bitcoin insurance bandwagon yet?
Would be a hard job for them but if you can prove that your cold storage is safe with 2 of 3 or similar then I'm sure some insurance company would take you on.
Maybe even use it as a selling point, Trezor insurance sounds good.

Bank hacks.
That's all you have? How about the proper date formatting and the source in the topic? I'm sure I've seen this story before as well, so what's the point in posting your one-liner?

I normaly egree , but this is the bigest ongoing bankhack!
Yep it is still going 100+ banks wordwide are hacked , was a whole report on dutch TV Youtube Link (dutch)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcqKyL7q7oU
what they say 1.000.000.000 euro is stolen , the hack is detected but nobody is arested ,
the hack is still going on . as we speak , the hack started around 2013.
they use backdoors , zero days that are not patched because of the fact that gov's use them for offense.
so Microsoft leaves them open.
the hackers managed to create 1.000.000.000 euros out of thin air , using the same systems as banks do for them self.
touching the central nerve system of money creation!
that's why no bank customers are effected.
Holland is no.4 on press freedom list , so please someone subtitle , The fact that the hack is still going on , is somthing I dont expect to hear on US or UK TV.

I've posted in bitcointalk, in the past, that it would be an incredible idea for an insurance company to offer Single Pay Whole Life insurance policies sold for set prices in Bitcoin. Obviously, the regulations to set up such an idea would be cumbersome, at best...and very possible, impossible.
BUT, it would 1) make burial policies appeal to a whole new group/class/generation of individuals. And 2) make insurance companies lots of money (which I find nothing wrong with, as it is their job and obligation to their shareholders).

Bank hacks are not that worrying. Depositors are insured for a start. Secondly, bank transfers are reversible. Hackers can steal account balances all they want, they are shifting numbers around. The difficult bit is to withdraw cash to make the money untraceable. Accounts will be are frozen when banks sees large abnormal transfers and hackers are left with nothing.
Bitcoin is different. You can leave the coins in an address and no one can touch them. When the time comes, breakup the coins into tiny amounts , mix them and they are as good as new.

Read the stories, atms were programmed to dump cash at specific times of day, without an atm card. You can't reverse that.

The more internet and online activities are expanding the more these are becoming vulnerable as far as banks are being hacked in this case account holders deposits are safer than btc these days.

That is actually one of the biggest differences between a regular account in a bank and BTC transaction that is always raised by the antagonists of crypto currencies. Central banks may also additionally print money out of thin air, if it pleases them.
Hacks are more common these days, as there are more skilled hackers working for the governments as a 'cyber army'.

But to answer the question, if I were to gauge it by what I see on 'The Daily Show' and the former "Colbert Report", I'd say we are in agreement- sarcasm is the highest form of comedy.
