Waiting patiently..I do think news will be filtered and not a direct response from Bitmain until next week.  Hope I'm wrong.. have another S2 showing up today or tomorrow.  Production was to be finished before end of the month.  Since they dont do presales we have a couple weeks.

I am sure Bitmain will make the upgrade kits, but will they be priced well enough to be worth it? I am really doubting they will make it a very good deal for us  Undecided

I think/hope they have come around to being more reasonable and competitive with their pricing.  The S5 was well priced compared to the S1 & S2.   Bitmain please release some info and be leniant with your pricing.

Anything over $300 w/psu is too much for an S2.  Bought 2 off ebay for less.

Seems as though we probably will pay an arm and a leg for this upgrade due to Bitmains' latest price hikes.  Here's my response for info.

Hi,
Sorry, we haven't got details either, pay attention to BITMAIN's official announcement later:)

Any idea when later is?  That's all we are asking since it was due out after the holiday.  Back to their old games.

Urgh, in before the "I plugged 8 boards in and my motherboard and power supply melted". I was hoping there would be something to prevent that, currently we're looking at 3 boards per S2. Also not enthused about the cooling with large amounts of empty space in a 3 blade S2.

Will reserve judgement until we know the tdp of the boards.

The same S5 boards/chips...  Undecided But what about their new chip, all that 0.3-0.4 Wt/Ghash?....

I hope they at least will offer this "upgrade" boards by the piece, 'cause I think that my S2 case can bear 4 of that boards with Corsair AX1200i Platinum PSU...

I think that such a possibility (to choose desireable quantity of the boards to buy) will be very, VERY convenient for all S2 owners. One would like to buy 3 boards, another (like me, with advanced PSU) would prefer to buy 4 boards... May be someone will buy 5 boards?..

May be, if it's not too late, this new boards should contain one (or two?) additional PCI-E connectors to avoid melting on the backplate?.. Dogie, please do something for us! let Bitmain hear us!..

PSU can be replaced by the owner with some cheap server PSU, it's not a huge problem if he want to occupy most (or all) of available slots on S2's backplate.....

S2 Upgrade is certainly good news, but I still feel disappointed.
