Why is this not in Colorado? CO currently has much better prices due to lower taxes.
EDIT: Looks like they do have some in CO.

I think this is another reason why people will shy away from bitcoin. They will think it is associated with marijuanna.
First, lets buy our groceries, and booze with bitcoin. Then...marijuanna.

That is hilarious. I'll have to check this thing out next time I'm in Seattle. However, I would hate to be in charge of securing a box full of drugs and money. lol

Hey, I don't smoke marijuana (anymore), but I'll take it! Just to have vending machines of any type is critical to getting word of mouth out there. You know what would really spark some flames....those Redbox DVD machines accepting it! That would be absolutely killer!

So what main illnesses qualify for medical (medicinal) cannabis in these states in America?. Do you also have to feed the machine a medical certificate? lol.
I only ask because I am English and drunk.

You don't need an illness to smoke in WA state. you just need to be over 18. These machines however, are in medicinal dispensaries only and not the regular ones. They are not out in the street. You have to show your ID to the machine, so i hear, not sure exactly how it works.

Sweet, that's awesome!
And ChuckBuck- I really think that would be a great idea if RedBox accepted Bitcoin and it would Definitely get people talking! However, I'm not sure that would work unfortunately because RedBox needs something it can charge daily and late fees to. The only way I could see that working is if you sent like a $15 deposit of BTC up front (to cover the possibility of late fees & stolen discs) and after you turned it in, it would take your $15 - ($1 x days rented) and automatically send the rest of your deposit back to your sending address. I think that would be really cool (and very do-able) if the whole process was automated.
For those unfamiliar with RedBox, it stores a bunch of DVDs and BluRays to rent. You swipe your credit/debit card and get your movie, and it charges you approx. $1 for it, and everyday after is $1 a day as well. And since you've already swiped your credit card, it automatically charges you for those days or an unreturned disc.

My man, snarlpill! Long time no talk buddy. Yes, I agree that for BTC based transactions, there would have to be a hold or reserve type amount in case of late fees for RedBox, that would get refunded automatically once the DVD is returned. I'm sure there are developers out there that could code that up wonderfully. Back on topic, man I guess there's gonna be a whole load of Bitstoners out in Seattle! Hope they have a regular snack vending machine next to the Marijuana one. P.S. - Loving the Cryptolator coins, Snarlpill. LOVING THEM, thanks once again!!!

People say Chinese don't care about BTC anymore, so maybe someone should help them care and put thousands of these machines around China. Start with Beijing since so many BTC companies are there.

So what's up with the law in Seattle? Is it legal to possess marijuana? If not, maybe one of those vending machines could get charged with possession!
