See my message here for details on the closing of the exchange:
Quote
Recent events have shown that running an exchange is way to risky and stressful to me in the current alt coin climate. Prices have risen to a point where I'm not comfortable I can provide a reasonable level of service. To this end I'm closing the exchange and encourage all users to move to vircurex. The following details are on the exchange site:
Quote
2013-04-05: The Bitparking exchange is closing down. I've decided the risk involved in dealing with the current high prices for the alt coins has moved from the 'fun hobby' level the exchange originally started with and requires a more serious approach to operation. I've been in contact with the Vircurex exchange and I encourage all existing customers to move their funds and continue trading their.

The exchange will close trading Friday 5 April 2013 22:00 and new deposit addresses will not be able to be created. Trading operations will also be disabled. Withdrawals will be available for a few days after that at which point the exchange will close and all funds sent to their emergency withdrawal address. Withdrawal fees are removed during this period. Thanks for using the exchange and enjoy a better and more professional experience at Vircurex.

This is a very good sign for litecoins. I remember DoubleC saying he wouldn't open another exchange for alt-chain unless he believed it had a lasting impression for the long-term.

Interesting times guys.

I've never considered messing around with Litecoins but now I'm getting interested, mostly because I like the BitParking Namecoin Exchange. Great customer service from DoubleC, my only complaint is that the NMC/BTC instead of BTC/NMC quote makes it a little confusing for dummies like me.  Smiley

Just a quick question, why your fee (0.4%) is higher than BTC-E (0.2%) for each trade ?

BTC : 1GN81dxzxyFPQsyAtdocXr5S9Mcg4wcfFG
LTC : LgmYvXsYXc4xdjsMKXJWqtagxVvioK6iaw

Past experience with running alt coin exchanges has showed me that 0.2% isn't enough to cover expenses - I used to be 0.2% for a while with the namecoin and other coin exchanges I ran. It's better to start at a point where expenses are covered then as volumes increase reduce the price rather than start low, run at a loss and have to increase prices.

Edit: Adjusted the fee to 0.2% and the withdrawal transaction fee down to 0.01. Let's see how that goes for a bit.

I've added cumulative sums to the order list on the main page showing the total of LTC and BTC in the buy and sell orders. It clutters the interface a bit, I'm not sure if it'll stay. Let me know if you think it's useful or not.

I recall a problem with Google Chrome a while back, which is the main reason I was forced to stop using the exchange unfortunately.

I simply couldn't ever log in.....Is this fixed now ?

I've been told it works fine on the namecoin exchange since the last couple of Chrome releases so it should work.
