Long story short my power plug got unplugged and the plug touched the heat sink and shorted the miner  Cry. I was wondering if anyone also had this problem and, could tell me how did they fix it. I know that the miner is cheap and can be replaced but I would hate to see it thrown away if there is a fix for it.

in theory it should have tripped the power supply maybe toasted it but the miner should still work... in theory

Agreed shorting to the heatsink probably shorted the power supply and not the miner.

Not enough power to power the motherboard from the PSU?  Could just be a little trickle enough to power the fan, but I guess that's unlikely.  You should try measuring the PSU with a meter to see if it's putting out what it's supposed to.
