Even negative press is good.
Many wall street types have balls of steel, and the only thing that scares them is missing out on a good opportunity. I really think this exposure has much to do with the recent up swing.

Do you really believe they will only find out about bitcoin 'years' later because of a small advert on a newspaper? No they knew ages ago and if they wanted to be part of it they already would a paper is not going to wake them up and say hey guys look what you are missing over here, so then they start buying and cause this pump. Nope it is just whales playing whales games to make a few bob on the backs of the unaware

I supposed it is for the good. We badly need fresh fund to the market to boost the price and when the rest of people see a sustainable uptrend, hopefully it will change investor's negative impression about bitcoin. Practically, I don't mind who gets into bitcoin as long as it brings good benefit in the long run.

Let them get into the game.. Let them buy hard... And make them dump..
So while they have created to much hype about BTC, then we will have enough people buying their dump that it wont affect the price much.
I envision the Wall-Street-types creating a myriad fancy-pancy pseudo bitcoin trust funds that'll be attached to a slew of portfolios to make them seem more appealing. Granted, I'm not versed in such underpinnings, but I can see how multi-million-dollar fraud dealings could easily be orchestrated. BTW, those in the know will make damn sure that they control bitcoin's price, at first sending it to the moon. Mark Karpeles was nothing compared to these boys.

If you ask 10 random people to tell you what they know about Bitcoin, many will have heard about it, but that's about the extent of their knowledge. The front page of the most well known financial publication in the world will have certainly raised the level of bitcoin awareness for thousands of individuals. TT

TT Aha sorry but that is funny stuff so we must be super savvy investors to be with Bitcoin before wallstreet That paper is not for the big shots it is for the average joe who already knows about bitcoin and has either chose to invest or has not a simple add is not changing that for the majority or readers. Don't talk rubbish if i speak to 10 random people i will probably not even get 1 that knows about bitcoin and a add is not going to deepen their knowledge is it, unless they chose to follow up and learn and that is not done in a day or 2 these people if they choose to invest will be here by the summer it is alot to get your head around and whether investing is a good idea, how much how it works etc etc.. You are right it will have definitely raised awareness but not as much as you think and that is 100% not a reason for the big boys to get involved just the average joe which is not bad but it is not great either.

It's great... this is free advertising, effectively. People are being exposed to the name, the 'logo' again and again. And at some point everyone is like 'hell, I have to figure out what this Bitcoin stuff is about' and they go and do some research...

At $29 per month, I wouldn't say this publication is for the average Joe, and the people who read it are reading it specifically for the financial news. This is a very different publication than a typical local or even national newspaper. 59% of readers hold top management positions, and the average household income of a WSJ reader is over $200,000/year. All things considered, this was a full page in the WSJ about Bitcoin. If you were to pay for that it would cost over $300,000. This really was a big deal for Bitcoin. TT

awesome publicity for bitcoin , but I do NOT think this article had any effect on the price increase. As always, the price goes up and down almost 100% due to manipulation by TRADING BOTS on the big exchanges.

They would have already been in long before any of us imo but hey like i said i agree and thank you for teaching me a thing or 2 about the prices etc because i had no dea..

Yup, people try to correlate price movement to news articles. They fail to realize that there may be correlation, but not necessarily causation.
