Sorry, but how is it related to signing a message with the bitcoin address so ask here. The message they sent me from freebitcoin is this: "Sign a message from the Bitcoin address in the profile or an address you deposited from requesting the email change". https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0It says deposit address

It said: " deposited from", means the address that you've used to deposit. Moreover, it also said " in your profile" as the main option, which is the default receiving address used during registration or the user added afterwards. Example ( for deposited from): When you sent bitcoins to any of your deposit address, you can sign a message to any of the listed inputs. Paste your previously used deposit address to https://www.blockchain.com/explorer?view=btc_blocks, and you'll see something like this: Use the wallet that you've used to send that transaction and sign a message containing " I want to change my email into blahblah@emailprovider.com" to that " purple-marked" address. Of course, if it's a " custodial wallet", you wont be able to do that.

is there a way to sign a message from an address without running bitcoinqt
As you can see I currently cover Bitcoin Core version v0.10.0, Electrum v 1.9.8, MultiBit v 0.5.18 and Blockchain.info. Coinbase (linked to guide earlier), armory and the new versions of Multibit (HD)[1] and Electrum (2.0.X) as well as plenty other wallets also support signing as well as verification of messages. If you have a specific wallet, just tell me which and I will add it to the todo list. New additions will probably[2] follow within the next days, if you use a wallet that is still missing, please suggest it. I dont see a reason to focus on wallets like armory as the chance that someone using armory knows how to sign a message is high. I think its more important to focus on wallets that are used by many people and that are typically considered beginners friendly. [1] still in beta [2] unless something unforseen happens first: im albert, and want to give you thanks for your topic, its pretty useful, i was ignore this thing about signmessage even when i have more than 6 years around bitcoin world... second: btw aboit that signmessage, there a way to sign an adress from a site as for example: frebitco. in there are a way to do it? (its the default adress that it give to me when it register in that site... so please help me i need to do ot for change my email adress in that site...

you sign a message using your private key. this means when you open an account somewhere and they give you a bitcoin address they own the private key to that address and you have no access to it which means you can not sign a message from that address.

Hello guys after getting my sign in code where I submit my post? Please tell me I am new here 😭
It was already given in the latter part of the "intro section":
~Snipped~
I tried verifying it but it didn't and based on your " other post" that contained a different message with the same signature, I'm guessing that's the issue [that part is unique for each signed message].

Quoted and verified using Electrum. Although it isn't required, I would also recommend that you stake your address by posting your signed message over in the Stake your bitcoin address here thread as indicated by snipie.

Is it about an exchange or online wallet? If you need more assistance than their CS can provide, you should start a " new topic" ( link at the upper-right of the boards) in the beginners board ( link) or Service Discussion ( link) if it's a custodial service. Then provide the necessary info like the name of the exchange, what happened and the current situation. People wont suddenly have the idea of what's happening, please be more comprehensive on your posts.

Are you talking about the Coinbase "Exchange" wallet or the actual separate Coinbase wallet application? If it's the exchange, you're likely out of luck. They don't provide access to private keys as it is a custodial service, you have no private keys, it's all controlled by coinbase. However, if you're using the their Android/iOS wallet app, you should have the 12 word recovery phrase that can be used in external wallets (like Electrum)... so you can just import the 12 word recovery phrase into a wallet that supports signing messages.

Is there a way to find the 12 seed phrase in Coinbase's android mobile app itself? I can't see it, maybe because it's limited or not visible when you've done the action like verification. I can no longer remember that I have copied phrases to recover funds here in case of a mistake, because I know it is associated with the account using the email address. As far as I know, when they are custodial, they do not give any of the keys or phrases.

You must contact that exchange or wallet's support or in some cases, the 2FA service provider; Note: bitcointalk members can't help you reset your 2fa aside from providing guides, this forum is not affiliated to any exchange, wallets or services. Is there a way to find the 12 seed phrase in Coinbase's android mobile app itself? I can't see it, maybe because it's limited or not visible when you've done the action like verification. Stepping in since you didn't received a reply: Is the wallet named " Coinbase" or " Coinbase Wallet"? If the latter, you can get it from " Settings Icon->Recovery Phrase"; If 'Coinbase', then there's no way to get the seed phrase since it's a custodial wallet/exchange.
