Getting this message although I have recently received a payout.  The window has said out of sync 29days  forever.  What do I need to do to get my payout?  My version is kind of old I think  v0.8.3-beta    Any thoughts?

Andy

Also noticed there is no current connection to bitcoin network, (not sure why).  Settings are proxy IP 127.0.0.1 Port 9050  SOCKS version 5   Could this be my anti-malware causing this?

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

There is a known DOS attacks for your version, while that is possibly not the issue at hand, Id suggest you update to 0.10.0 first. Its also way faster at catching up on the blockchain.

As shorena says, update to 0.10.0 and let us know if that helps.

Did you try running it over Tor previously?

how many connections does it say you have?

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

I'm getting the same message. I upgraded to the latest client and still get the same message. "No Block Source Available"

When the subject of buying BTC with Paypal comes up, I often remember this:

I assume you checked your (local) firewall settings.

Try adding some nodes manually by writing the following command in the dev console. Replace IP with one of the IP address of the list below. Repeat for all if you want. After you added some/all nodes from the list, wait a few minutes and see if you have a connection.

command:

Code:
addnode IP add

list:

Code:

The old version was working properly then just started showing this message, so I upgraded the client. Firewall has been set to allow the client and is even turned off.
I added 3 of those nodes, still the same issue. It is showing 6 active connections just 24 hours behind and No Block Source Available.

If you check the peers[1] do they have >348535[2] blocks? Are you missing ~144 blocks in comparisson to the peers? For all you are saying you should be synced, but the client seems to be confused for some reason. Wrong date settings maybe?

[1] Help -> Debug Window -> Peers -> click a line in the table, see details on right
[2] obviously this is constantly changing, check a block explorer e.g. blocktrail.com for the current number of blocks.

I uninstalled the client, moved to a different PC, reinstalled and restored wallet.dat. Same thing but now 6+ years behind.

UPDATE

The fresh install on another PC is now working. Something on the other PC was blocking it., now to figure out what it is.
