well, youre not alone, i also have lost between 300-400 btc, and currently own 0.1...
I suppose I would be happy if bitcoin were to crash to $1.. However, I still consider buying at this level.. What puts me off somewhat is the knowlege that, having coins again I may just end up gambling it all away again.

I think a wallet app that can limit the payments sent for a time period would help some people perhaps.

That's what I always tell people. Pick an amount of money you can lose, part with it before you start to gamble and whether you win or lose walk away with no regrets.
Worst thing you can do is enter a casino with expectations, plans how to spend the money you want to win.
At least it didn't break you, OP and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Wow I am super sorry to hear that op that puts in perspective my little $100 gambles when i give myself a kick at the end saying should have only played with $50 lol 'hindsight'

I hope you are not feeling to down and you get back on your feet in no time, i see you have a loving wife and good community behind you at the end when all is said and done that is all that matters in this life!

The love of someone else who you love.

I get a little annoyed (well, only for a minute  Tongue) at myself when I lose $50 during my gambling endeavours, so I can only imagine the pain you're going through right now.

@OP: Do you mind if I ask you a few questions about this situation? I know you're probably feeling really shitty & really bad about everything right now, but I'd like to get inside the big stakes gambling mind for just a second...

What portion of your bankroll was your final bet & what exactly did you bet on?
How much had you won before you went on your losing streak?

And finally, the main question... you were playing DirectBet, right? Why on your final bet did you go for the dice? Why didn't you make a sports pick, something that is 100% truly, undoubtedly by any stretch of the imagination, fair?

(I know DB is provably fair, but there is the tiny chance that we've all been lied to about what "provably fair" in general actually is)

Hi,

I have lost over 300BTC through theft and one 20 minute self destructive gambling spree in the last year or so.

If you have a moment to read my account here, I hope to prevent others making the same mistakes as me.

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/a-warning-to-you-all.4373/

All the best,

Dan

loss 300 btc on directdice?
i've same loss as you last time, i lost 0.1 btc .

"make a big loss and then lose track desperately trying to win it back"

its what happened to me too, i lost big money and try to bet bigger and then burned down.

im so sorry with your loss, but i think they are provably fair, just dont be greedy when you face gambling.

There really is something to no-limit currency.  You can do anything with it instantly.

Gambling is a human behavior dating back 1000's years. Much like drinking alcohol, many humans enjoy doing so, but some do so to excess. This doesn't mean we shouldn't make beer.

every times you join in a gambling site , it's mean you will lose  Grin People think they can restrain their avarice ,but the percentage of people can restrain it like the lottery jackpots , all your strategy sooner or later lead to failure , so no gamble or lose  Tongue

Yeah I get the feeling. I sometimes lose $30 here and there and become really sad, the best thing is to just walk away for good.

That is what happens when you get greedy. Have to play more conservative and know when to quit. I lost some bitcoins getting greedy.

As Micon wisely said gambling and in particular sportsbetting can be enjoyed as a recreational activity in moderation and don't get yourself in a bind by having unrealistic expectations and betting excessive amounts of money.

Happened with me too today but I realized it's not my day and stopped. Winning & Losing, both part of gambling you win today you might not win tomorrow. Never chase losses and you'll be fine.

Sorry for your loss OP. Hope you feel better.

Gamblers think they have the intention of winning but they really there for the losing. Reading your circumstance makes me happy that I am currently only down 20 BTC but I've lost a lot more fiat than your 300 BTC. Gamblers never stop the more you win the more you lose maybe the best thing is not to start in the first place.

Hi,

I have lost over 300BTC through theft and one 20 minute self destructive gambling spree in the last year or so.

Oh dear wow dude that is on the side extreme gambling most do not gamble nowhere near that, the most i have seen someone post who has lost was 650btc and now another 300btc that is crazy amounts to be putting into gambling sites.

Hope that does not get you to down and you can bounce back, i don't mean play and try and win but move on with your life and forget gambling because the feeling must suck.

Thanks for the warning for myself and others good luck with whatever you choose.

People should stop to gamble on dice site because it is only a question of lucky , it doesn't exist a real method. Have you seen what is happened to Hufflepuff : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=843892.0    he was really lucky  Roll Eyes.
