Anyone notice the huge drop in their pricing over the past 3 days?

They went from averaging $600+ to around $450 now. I even saw some go for less than that.

Any clue as to why?

It was never $600. I think the highest was like $410 and then dropped due to dropping BTC and slow sales.

If you buy the bulk batch it comes to 177 per miner. I wonder how much shipping is...

Dunno about you, but I'm not planning to invest in 1600 Antminer S5's at this particular moment.  Cheesy

I wonder if the first batch of #5 will start shipping this coming week? Bitmain has made it clear when he posts he mentions that he usually ships prior to their "shipping date". I wonder if that was a ruse for a good sales pitch or has some truth in it? I guess we will see. It would be nice to get a surprise at the door this week.

The $177 per miner is just the 50% deposit. You'll have to pay them another $177 per miner before they'll ship (in about three months), so to compensate you for the tremendous wait you get a whopping 4% discount.

Cool, quiet and up to 1TH pod miner, on sale now!

At that point you'd hope for free shipping....

The reason why they hike the prices is because they are a monopoly. They are the only manufacteurer currently selling and they can sell at any price they wish.

$320 or $420, is still overpriced with the shipping and custom fees.

If you are paying VAT and customs and shipping they will lose you money.

If you pay VAT I highly suggest looking into data centers to send it to without vat.
