I literally don't have but 3$ to my name.. I am completely broke, and I gotta get my ass into a hotel... The shelter does a raffle at 6pm, I don't get off work till 5:30 and to catch the bus at 6? There's no chance I can make it, I called them and they can't make special arrangements.. So that really screws me.. I need a place to stay so I can make sure I can keep my job.. I have to be up by 6:30, and I have no way to make sure I'm up by then if I'm sleeping outside.

I understand you don't know me, I was advised to come here via a friend from hackthissite to download this program.

But the mother of my child doesn't want to have anything to do with our daughter Lily.. and last I heard she got arrested while she was prostituting herself for cocaine... It hurts so much because she used to be a good mother, if she was shit, I could understand.. but she breast fed for 14 months! She taught her well, so attentive and patient. My daughter said please and thank you by 14 months, and knew what it meant! It would be easy to let her go if she was a shitty mother, but I'm having trouble... The drugs turned her into a woman I don't even know anymore... Should I try and get her back to who she was or just give up? I don't know...

OK, I can offer advice having roughed it during travels:

Firstly you should not have let it progress to this point. You left things far too long to degenerate without taking action. Now you're in the shit. It's far harder to keep yourself afloat when your head is below water.

Find a place to sleep. At night you can go inside a public toilet and lock the door. Use the sinks to wash under your arms and your face as you don't want to stink. Another good place is buying a train ticket- it's a good too for travel as you sleep and wake-up in a new city (work?).

Start looking for squatters. Squats aren't junky places like you often see in the movies but many of them are quite nice- maybe slightly political with anarchist leanings. Explain your situation and ask for shelter.

For food do the freeganism thing. You can go to markets at the weekend and ask for their refuse food- food that's a little past the sell-by date but is otherwise fine. Also the big supermarkets like to put lots of food (still wrapped and mostly fine) in the dumpsters. Lookup dumpster diving for more info. One easy thing is just going into a restaurant (think MacDonalds) and eating people's leftover meals- it's not that bad as you image because people are people just like you and me. Often people actually leave quite a lot of leftovers and you can get a good meal.

You action plan should be:
- Find immediate place to sleep (public toilet, overnight train)
- Dumpster dive, ask small shops/markets for refuse food & seek out free food.
- Get work ASAP
- Search squats to stay at.
- Take control.
- STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM DEGENERATE FUCKUPS. They will only ruin everything and cause you massive hassles.

The guy I'm staying with is moving back to Cali, he's actually one of the guys who the mother of my child cheated on me for... she said she was gonna leave me for this guy... Asking for money off the bat is a BAD IDEA. Ask for help in other ways. If people want to donate then they'll find ways to ask you. Hearing a call for money is an instant turn-off for most.

Fuck the hotel. You will need that money. Go find a public toilet and lock the doors. Go to the newspaper bank and grab lots of cardboard/paper to put in bunches under your clothes to keep you warm.

Another option is to climb some roofs if your city is a dense urban area. Find a warm enclave.

Put your shit in lockers. You don't want to get mugged. Stay off the drink.

You don't need a tent if you're in the city.

I have a job, I'm doing telemarketing for "Reliable Printing" We do cold-calling to businesses and get printer numbers so our sales assoc. can use our warm call to sell printer cartridges. It's a shitty job, but it was guaranteed since they have a 80%+ turnover rate..

7 months? No, I've been dealing with this off and on for 7 months..  but it was me and the mother of my child working hand in hand.. but when she left me I had to move in with the guy she was cheating on me with, I've had stable housing for.. 3 weeks now.. I got a job within the first week here, but it's a two-week pay period..
