The new wallet released by iGotSpots fixes the checkpoint issue and reduces the stake rate to 10% per annum which kicks in at block 1324000.
I will be managing the thread and will update the community of every new development.
Plz discuss what features you would like to be added to ECASH and we will do our best to make it happen.
Also, we need new logos and graphics so plz do not hesitate to help us in that regard.

Massive thanks to iGotSpots for stepping up to the plate once again, also to those who annoyed, badgered and pestered him into submission  ;D

I think we all know how busy he is with other more important stuff at the moment, so really appreciated  ;)

now it's down to the community to pull together and make this work.

Will the old wallet be disabled at some point? If so... when might that happen? Thanks.

I believe you need to get on the new wallet before block 1324000 or you will fork. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Will the old wallet be disabled at some point? If so... when might that happen? Thanks.

emoneycoin.org is available, what you folks think?
Should we use it. I looked at most of the variations but are already registered.
That is because ecash and emoney are very good names and domain names.

Any other ideas?

Please report problems to me as soon as possible. I am very, very swamped right now and would like to be able to check this off my mental to-do list, so if there are any issues I'd like to get them sorted out right away

Spots, can you help me fix my ecash wallet. It does not sync. I have about 200k coins before and I stopped staking.. Now, that you are involved in ecash again, I would like to get back my coins.. I get error: This block was not received and will probably not be accepted!

Please advise

That just means that you mined a block & someone mined a block as well at the same time & got it microseconds/nanoseconds quicker.

If you unsure about your wallets blocks always perform a -rescan prior to opening the wallet & also while the wallet is open type repairwallet in the debug console to gain your correct balance.

Make sure you are on the latest wallet ECASH v2.0.4: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9tCHKMNZjyYWUNmS3pEVHdleFU/edit

I don't know if this will work for you but here is a recent ECASH Bootstrap: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5soouf7YBQQbW41ZUVOUWdvRUE

Certainly the syncing is the major issue with 2.04. Im going to try the bootstrap. But its impossible to sync from scratch.

Update: tried bootstrap with 2.04 and crashes when I go to load client.

I am using the latest version that spots has uploaded and have synced up fine and staking nicely. What files from roaming do you need?

I can upload them for you if you want, but unsure as to which ones will help you? Can upload everything if you wish for you to try (except wallet.dat of course)

Title: Re: [ANN][ECASH] New Official Thread - New Wallet Released

It actually does sync from scratch, it increases in 500 blocks, make sure you turn off blocking for ecash or put it on the exception list with your antivirus software.

Spots has been syncing up from scratch with v2.0.4

It must be something you are doing or the settings you have enabled.

Hey everybody!
First time poster, long time lurker :-)

Does anybody have any idea why I have started staking negative amounts?

Started using the new wallet last night. Last 2 months have staked fine as well, no problems until now.

Slightly worried as I have had 3 negative stake amounts totalling about 2 billion coins over the last 12 hours :-(

I do not understand why I am negative staking.

Since last night I have negative staked about 6 billion coins. 6 billion coins! Gone. They aren't being sent anywhere, just mint by stakes of a negative amount.

I have tried different boot straps, commands & reinstallations to no avail.

Does anyone else have any problems like this? Or has anyone receive about 6 billion coins by staking since last night, that has been out of the ordinary?

I am turning this off before I lose all my coins.

I have never experienced this with any wallet before, maybe you should run a virus scan/malware scan to see if there's anything else the matter  ;)

where did you get the wallet from etc and what version are you using?

I don't know if this will work for you but here is a recent ECASH Bootstrap: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5soouf7YBQQbW41ZUVOUWdvRUE

thanks.. how does rescan work? where do i do it? in debug console?

Open up Command Prompt, drag the ECASH qt.exe over into it, press spacebar and type -rescan, it will start up the wallet and rescan the blocks.
thanks but it didn't work as well.. do you know how to salvagewallet? have seen spots post it before but can't find it now. tia

I don't know if this will work for you but here is a recent ECASH Bootstrap: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5soouf7YBQQbW41ZUVOUWdvRUE

will i not need a .bat file?

thanks.. how does rescan work? where do i do it? in debug console?

Open up Command Prompt, drag the ECASH qt.exe over into it, press spacebar and type -rescan, it will start up the wallet and rescan the blocks.
thanks but it didn't work as well.. do you know how to salvagewallet? have seen spots post it before but can't find it now. tia

-salvagewallet the same way in command prompt as above.

The Bootstrap I uploaded doesn't seem to work, try nikkers one instead https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B78NLprEOWhmUjdObUlaQUs3bGc

In order to be present in any market, total volume of ECASH should be divided by 1000 at least. Next version of wallet should be new version of coin (ECASH2 or  something) with ratio to ECASH 1:1000.

Hi mate, i told you to check for malware etc blah blah blah, and rescans etc, as i was thinking the problem was definitely on your end somewhere.

But last night a dj saved my life, err sorry last night the same thing happened to me  ???

Man it is taking forever to get to 1324000. We are at 1009442. any easy way to speed this up?
Getting to many coins in the float.

Just a few ideas to help complete the new ANN.

Can we add e-money to the ANN title to help avoid confusion with old ecash coin.

Let's install the specifications that we know.
Algorithm - SHA256
PoS 10% Annually
Current coin float ECT...

What about using the original idea pupose of the coin in the ANN. It does seem like a plausible idea.
Just needs to have a few things removed.

E-money plans to bring real world applications to the Altcoin Cryptocurrency sphere by adopting an online advertising based business model.  This system will allow users from all over the world to promote goods and services, and be paid in E-money coins.  This will be accomplished through an online portal that advertisers use to create campaigns, decide how much they are willing to pay advertisers (you) per click, or sale generated.  End users will choose which campaign they would like to advertise through the "Campaigns" tab in the wallet, see which is the best paying, or most interesting, and generated an embedded link with their referral ID.  End users will then use this link in their forum signatures, websites, e-mail signatures, Facebook, or even Google Adwords if the promotion is profitable enough.  This will bring a global reach far beyond the typical realm of Bitcointalk, and allow everyone to make money just doing what they already do - word of mouth advertising online.

There will be a 1.0% (approximate) premine which will be used to fund the first campaign, this will allow us to beta test the model and buy time to find advertisers.  We absolutely must find an escrow service for this premine, so please get in contact if you have suggestions on who we may approach with this.  In 3 weeks time, we hope to do the first beta-run of the advertising campaign, and we will ask the escrow service to move the premined coins to the central advertising portal.  If you are an exchange looking to list this coin, please wait until the premine is held in escrow.  If you would like to provide the escrow service for us, please get in touch before listing the coin.

At this time, we will also end the 8% daily Proof-of-Stake rewards system and fork the coin to 8% annual.  This will allow for individuals who simply do not own mining hardware to purchase coins and keep up with the aggressive Proof-of-Work period.  At this point, individuals who own businesses may decide to use these coins to fund their own advertising campaigns.

Yeah it has been happening for the last 2 days for me, it stakes while it says it's syncing when it is already in sync and always orphans, I can't even click the application without it responding, all I can see is the balance, tx & graph when its running in the background with all other tabs closed, even then the graph has crazy ups and downs.

I'm pretty sure this coin is FUBAR'd (Fu*ked Up Beyond Any Repair)

I don't want to totally bail from this coin after all the work that has been put into it.

Mine never said staking but coins came in till yesterday, the problem is every single tx for me is now an orphan compared to a few days ago & it says it is syncing onto a block that never moves yet the orphaned tx's keep rolling in but the balance doesn't change when I can see it, it is that unresponsive I can't even get into it to perform a repairwallet or getinfo no matter how many times I restart the wallet or how ever long I leave it on.

I even tried a -rescan when starting the wallet and that done nothing.

This is probably the reason why iGotSpots hesitated to help out again, IMO the code of ECASH has been chopped & changed so much that it is unstable.

I think that we should ask iGotSpots to be the dev. He is familiar with a coin and has already done a lot. That way, instead of asking him to do one thing at the time, we will agree as a community what changes would we like to be done on coin and then ask him to do that all together. Some ideas are mentioned here, some previously. Maybe he has better idea for this coin. Anyway, first thing is that we decide whether we want to ask him to be the dev.

The community should ask iGotSpots to make that happen.
I agree.

Show your support here:

https://twitter.com/CryptoPrecise/status/599948276574593026
I think that we should ask iGotSpots to be the dev. He is familiar with a coin and has already done a lot. That way, instead of asking him to do one thing at the time, we will agree as a community what changes would we like to be done on coin and then ask him to do that all together. Some ideas are mentioned here, some previously. Maybe he has better idea for this coin. Anyway, first thing is that we decide whether we want to ask him to be the dev.

While i agree iGotSpots would be the perfect man for the job, i just cant see it happening.

After all the 💩💩 he went through last time for fixing it in the first place, he has fixed the wallet again to change the stake rate at block 1,300,000

and yet he still has a load of negative trust from the whole fiasco  ???

Good luck though  ;) i would like to see it happen.

We are going to need a reverse 1000  to 1 split. Wat to many coins in the float.

LMAO are you serious, at the total coin cap so far we are going to need a 5 Million+:1 swap ratio.

Yea I was thinking right now. We aren't even close to 1300000 yet. There will be 900 billion by then or more.

This is what I think we should do as a Community.

I think we should have a coin swap in the Millions : 1 Ratio which would leave us with a very low coin cap (most likely somewhere under 500k coins to start with) that is if everyone who holds ECASH or buys it to swap does so within the time frame

The total amount of coins traded in at the specified ratio will determine the total amount of coins to start with for the new wallet.

Thus creating a new wallet with completely new branding of the coin, after all it will be a fresh wallet without a massive Blockchain to sync up anymore.

We decide on the Name & PoS rate, we could even base it on random low stake rewards but have it tweaked a little to behave differently.

This is just off the top of my head for something I see working.

Has any coin done this before? We send our coins somewhere for the swap and they come back as a new coin minus the swap ratio?
Does sound like a good idea. should we vote?

Yep, I also like this idea. Ideally after the swap, I would like to see the PoS rate for the new coin to be approx 3-4% only and no higher than 5%.

Off the top of my head, Summercoin has a coin swap held on Bittrex last year and was renamed to SUM2. It has changed name again since (name only) to Navajo. (NAV) They are doing really well these days.

Strange; over the past few days, my wallet has started to stop staking after a few hours to the point that it doesn't stake at all now.

It was staking perfectly fine for a long time. Would the amount of transactions (49,452) have anything to do with it?

I currently have 4 connections to the network.

Blocks started adding up prior to my vacation.  I returned on Tuesday and have had my wallet open since.  I think the problem might be that there are times the wallet is not responding.  Right now I it looks like I am synced, but as soon as I unlock to mine it shows a lot of blocks behind.  It has been 30 minutes since the last block was downloaded.

I will try the nodes, but I must have a problem with my firewall.  IGotSpots said that if you did not have more than eight connections that you were a leech, not a seed.  I have only been able to get more than eight connection with only one of my many wallets.  Is everyone's wallet currently synced?

IGotSpots fixed the wallet earlier when there was a problem.  He might show back up, but he is extremely busy with four other coins, MMXIV, TEETH, VARY and BUCKS.  It was extremely nice of him to fix the wallet the first time.  My wallet is mining and syncing now, but still behind in the total block count.  The important thing is it is still working, but we need a market.  Maybe someday we will get some help.

You might as well hold on to the coins that you have.  It might help if you read thru the posts and attempt to contact someone that can assist this coin.  You could put up some suggestions as to what you would like to see.  Hopefully someone will come to rescue this coin.  We could always donate a large amount of our holding to anyone that would take on the task.

addnode=82.44.30.10
addnode=46.255.168.83

In my ecash.conf file in the ecash Appdata folder. Was staking great a week ago and PC crashed.
Had a backup of my wallet.dat file.

Do I add the add the wallet.dat file after sync completed or right after fresh install of wallet.
Seem to be stuck at block 19084.

When I get the 'offline stakes' I just reopen my wallet and they start syncing again. Wallet has been a little picky here lately.

Yes, when wallet gets hung up, I restart it and it picks up a few blocks. Other than that it is not moving. I did try the new set of nodes. Any other ideas? Maybe  Spots can give us some direction.

Just opened my wallet again after 6 days of not being able to connect at all, and getting a ton of 'Offline', type stakes. None of my stakes have confirmed at all?

We need to ask IGotSpots about to be added to the new swap process, which he intends to soon produce. In this process, all his coins will be swapped for one new coin. E-cash is still his coin. :)

I am also on board for the 1 billion. I came up with a work around for the syncing problem. Seemed to get stuck at 1%. But when I first open the wallet it picks up a chunk of blocks. So I installed Macro recorder and looped it. Opens wallet, gives it a few minutes to get blocks then shuts down and starts all over. I am at 60% now after 2 days!

We should ask Spots if he's willing to do that asap, because he plans to do the swap for his four coins on June 28 so we don't have much time. And of course we should ask him to name the price for that and gather that money as a community.

Love what spots is doing, but we have no blockchain for him to take a snapshot of. Isn't this a problem? Or am I confusing a blockchain with a block explorer?

Finally caught up syncing! Looping the macro recorder worked good, but took 5 days.

Long way to go till 1300000. Going to be 10 trillion float by then.

Do you think the sync issue is from the huge coin float, and the wallet will basically be fine once the coin count is reduced?

Any word from spots or is he still swamped?

I do not think that anyone has attempted to contact spots.  I might try the Macro recorder trick if I can find some time to investigate how to set it up. Have you had any negative staking amounts?  Every once in a while I will get a couple of huge negatives.

Hi Spots.
I saw that you're planing to make a swap for 4 coins that you develop. Are you interested in to add ECASH to that swap and if you are, what do you ask in return?

Best regards,

If you can reach him, send him a message because he will do the swap in four days.

Like I said I got my wallet synced up finally.
It is starting to stake now but it is negative stake amounts. I think someone else had the same problem. How did you fix it?

Was the Macro recorder easy to setup? I am about 17,000 blocks behind.  I get the negative stakes every once in a while, but they seem to be more frequent lately. I do not have a clue as how to fix it.

Gravy. Used jitbit macro recorder. jitbit.com/macro-recorder.

Just start recording / click on ecash wallet link to open / let wallet load and grab blocks / wait a few seconds and close wallet / stop recording.

Go to the menu and set the amount of times you want it to play over in "special play"

I never managed to fix the negative staking issue. I did kind of fix the problem though.
I started with a new wallet on a spare laptop, let it sync (which was luckily no issue), then transferred all coins to the new wallet. Had to send coins at a maximum of 500000000.00 at a time otherwise it crashed. Now wallet stakes more than it negative stakes, which is fine by me.

Also, I have had the same problem as others, wallet stops staking. To solve the issue, create a new address & send coins to yourself, seems to restart the staking process after the hour for coin maturity. Do this every day or so.

Hope this helps someone  :)

Let's ask Spots to take over this coin, to be the dev of new one, to stop this silly rate, make a swap with a ratio 1:1 000 000 and the coin will be on market again.
What do you say? Let's vote on that.

You guys might or might not be aware that the old spots wallets do not have the ability import a blockchain via the normal method of bootstrap.dat. You can verify this by looking into the init.cpp file. In order to "import" a chain with these wallets you need to follow a more complex process of detaching databases and copying over those block files etc which becomes complicated cross operating systems.

The biggest problem with Ecash going forward is to get a wallet up to date. At some point I attempted this to help you guys but the chain gets stuck every 500 blocks. With a chain size of 1m+ it becomes an almost impossible task. There are ways around it with scripts but a person has to baby sit the process. I was willing to do it and got halfway before I realised during testing that creating a cross-platform compatible up to date bootstrap.dat is going to serve no purpose as the wallet does not have the ability to read it so I halted the effort. It is trivial to create a Linux VPS sync node and at that point I created one to see if it will sync better but the problem is to get an up to date chain on it. A normal chain sync from scratch on a VPS sync node suffers from the exactly same chain-getting-stuck-while syncing symptom than a normal wallet on a PC.

The way out of this for you guys imo is to do the following:
- Have an up to date block explorer (good luck) and export a snapshot of all addresses and the coins in them.
- Choose or create a new wallet, do a premine on block 1 of a balance equal to the Ecash balance less a bunch of zeros and let someone do the swap for you privately by proving ownership of the old address.

Just make sure this time that the new wallet can import a bootstrap.dat in order to easily sort out issues in future.

Due to the issues with your current chain and the high number of coins in circulation, it does not make sense to work on the existing wallet and chain. You must therefore either code a new wallet or copy one. Coding a new wallet is possible but does not make sense due to the effort involved. Your best bet would be to do what all the scam devs do, take an existing wallet of anther coin, change the coin specs to what you want it to be, find and replace the name to the name you want, replace the graphics and put a premine in the first block. Then swop the new coins for the old. You need to get someone with coding and wallet experience to do this for you and while you are looking for a new wallet, you can just as well choose one with some features that you deem to be adding value.

What I said is the truth and I also did say what you just posted that you can detach the database and copy the blk file but that imo it is a more complex process. My issue was that the normal way of doing a bootstrap.dat is not working. I have not appetite to dig in the past here and fight about things that is not relevant anymore because Ecash is screwed anyways.

Post by: Woody20285 on July 04, 2015, 06:45:10 AM
The biggest problem with ECASH is there are so many transactions the wallet can't handle it. I created a 2nd wallet and moved 65 Billion - 1 Billion (max size) at a time. That was 65 transactions in the new wallet - altready over 3000. Now it has grown to 184 Trillion in just 6 days.

Wallets great - chains great. Staking like crazy (Several Billion a minute.). But Unless someone does a takeover and reverse split I won't have enough time to move 184 Trillion - 1 Billion at a time. Anyone need a Billion?

Bound to die soon unless there is a takeover. And if there is anyone out there that still does not know - Spots was not the dev. He stepped up and fixed a broken wallet and got crucified when he left after doing what he said he would - fix the wallet

I haven't synced my wallet for a month due to this coin being pointless now, nobody wants to step up and announce a takeover and swap because ECASH has too many problems with the wallet stability.

The problem that you guys have that is in Ecash, is one of your own making. Doing a swap and fixing a wallet is not just straight forward and sometimes requires following a middle path like during a negotiation process and drawing some lines and setting rules in order to achieve the objective. In such a process it is impossible to find grounds where everyone is happy. Everyone saw what happened to the person that did the previous swap/fix.  Instead of being happy that a swap and fix occurred, the community tore him apart and his trust score was ripped apart.

Unfortunately anyone with the skills in cryptoland will be aware of what happens to the a guy that steps up in this community to fix anything. So chances of you finding anyone that will fix this is probably 0%.

Archive your wallet files and move on.

This is pretty much it to sum ECASH up now...

The coin had a bright future if the original dev could have coded it properly from the start.
All we need is a new wallet and a coin swap. Whats so hard about that? Isn't there someone that want to step up to the plate and act as the dev?

Someone will hopefully fix this coin.  You cannot please everyone 100 percent of the time, there are always going to be complainers.  It everyone donates enough coins to make it worth someone time it would go a long way.  I have no idea what needs to be done or I would help.

That is the point, even if you collect enough money, no-one will fix it because they saw what happened to the previous guy that stepped up to help. No harm in trying though.

How about opening up a discussion on what we would like to see happen with this coin and see what happens.

Sounds good. Let's keep moving forward.

I'm for that too. Let's make a list of changes that we want to be made on this coin and than collect ECASH and offer it to someone who wants to do that and to be a new dev.

Suggestions to get the ball rolling:
1. Suggest 1 to10 Million reverse split or set an arbitrary max # of coins
     - i.e. 1 Million or 5 million.with each person getting % of total coins
based on ownership of current coin.
2. unclaimed coins held non-staking for 6 months or 1year for those who don't hear of the swap
reducing possibility of backlash - then, destoryed.
3. POS Interest rate that works well in many other coins 50% to 200%.

I like those suggestions, but lower the PoS interest rate to 3-4% per annum instead.

Agreed I like 10 to start with then every month deduct with 1%.

The swap must but really hard, since 99% of us will want to sell out. Let't the market decide a price first then let people sell.

BTW is there a block explorer?

We are going to also need to
setup a mining pool.

I would like to build the website on my own dime. Emoneycoin.com is available. Ecashcoin is not. Are we ecash or emoney? Used to trade under ecash.

Far as I know (but could be wrong) there was a different coin that was ECash.
This coin was always EMoney with the ticker of (ECASH) just to keep things
confusing.

I agree with these suggestions. Maybe lower interest rate (10% per year or so). I agree with idea for mining pool too.

Emoney looks to be on life support. Wallet seems to be doing a negative staking thing now. Lets just take this one step at a time. The big one is who is going to take care of the new wallet and setup the coin swap? Any takers?

Just let ECASH die in piece, it has been wanting to die ever since iGotSpots tried to fix it (twice)

Let it have some dignity as a coin that iGotSpots "can't" Swap & Reboot to make profit off.

It is the community's fault that the coin died and not Spots' fault. Anyone that says otherwise does not know the intricate history of the coin.

Well I guess someone or the community has had enough of him lmfao this is a classic and is also a working coin that is half decent as well.

Well it was not his coin and he kindly fixed a broken wallet (twice) and then,
took all kinds of shit for the problems of the previous developer. I think
some decided he should take over the coin or did take over it or was the developer.

In any case,he was not responsible, fixed it and got jumped on.
It probably left him never wanting to hear of this coin again.

Still have my wallet in case anyone ever decided to wake it from the dead.

Spots, iGotSpots, where are you IGS ?

Oh that's right your off with DigiCube now if you can't half tell.....

I guess ECASH helped him realise how to make even crapper crap coins :D

18.18BTC on CUBE out of nowhere from lingering at 4 BTC artificial, yeah no one else pumps it like you do and say "look at the volume, can't believe XXXXXXX hasn't added it yet, we will get a multipool and online staking".

So basically if you can't see it, all the same things that MMXIV, 10K, BALLS, GorillaCash had which was signature to iGotSpots coins is right there with DigiCube, even the fancy picture layouts of the coin OP.

CUBE was forked from SPRTS, he claims he changed heaps of things, but all he did was premine it, add 5.7% daily stake, give "most" of it away & hold the majority in multiple smaller accounts and slowly combine them creating all this crazy volume of 1000's of CUBE when only less than 50 or 100 cube are rarely being sold per day, nobody has that much cube with the miraculous buys/sells in-between current prices.

Lol. Spots did a good job with ecash. Idiots voted stupid stake rate that blew up the coin. I would be happy with anything he does with ecash. I have 10 billion coins for him to step up again.
