How many of their sites do NOT have privacy protection? That is one of the most absurd claims brought against a coin because basically ALL of them have developers whose identities are not released. That is the standard in the crypto community. You and others can judge a coin by what it claims to offer, but do not go labeling things that you wish to as scams and such with absolutely NO convincing basis, it is not fair to those genuine developers who are actually working on something beneficial to the community at large. It was abused and put away wet, but it wasn't raped. The large quantity of blocks issued at launch, was from the difficulty being set low at launch, and the difficulty adjustment being slow. Looking at the shares required for the low difficulty of the early blocks, a single 2 mh/s miner solo mining could easily have gotten as many blocks as smarterhash did. But noone else was ready. That's not rape. That's being prepared to take advantage when the opportunity arises. Now the difficulty adjustment has been made, and it's smooth sailing. I hope this coin does well, it has a lot of promise!! Even though the launch wasn't exactly smooth, there have been a lot worse starts, and the coins have survived just fine. Especially one like Polybit which has a very broad, generic use case and is thus almost impossible to pull off successfully. Though a poorly distributed ICO is almost as bad.
Buying into its small ICO was in retrospect the best play here. I still mined a small stack solo. At least the paywall pool made the mining dynamic into something I haven't yet seen and thus was mildly interesting, if probably poisonous for the coin's long-term prospects. I don't like how the smarterhash discussion threadjacked the OP but hey I guess that's crypto for you. I'm pretty sure I do better on my mining than any profit-switching multipool, paywall or otherwise, but I would point rigs to ipominer before paying to play at smarterhash. I am not so sure about the features, they seem incredible, if they can be delivered - great. However if we do all the invoice processing on an external server, that part will no longer be decentralized and will defeat the purpose of the coin and jeopardize the anonymity part. There's several issues we're trying to address here, in the meantime it looks like miner support has been all but taken away, its around 0.01 GH/s right now and the network is clearly not stable enough for a fork at this time. We're trying to work hard to get this out, will provide updates on a timely basis
