Title: Which is the best Investment Option for Bitcoins?
Post by: aahzmundus on June 08, 2015, 09:33:19 AM
I have a few bitcoins and am going to buy a few more in a day or two. Will have some 10+ Bitcoins then. I wanted to know which is the best investment option where I can invest my bitcoins and earn some profits as their is no point of just holding them and let them stay dead in my wallet.

i can't see much , besides shorting or investing in some hyip, there is also altcoin, but they are even more dangerous

otherwise you can try with some services that offer a loan system, but those are also far away from being free of risks

I wouldn't look for anywhere to invest them on this forum, there are lots of scammers offering ways to grow your bitcoins.
Maybe you could go to the marketplace section & look into providing people loans with interest decided by yourself although make sure you use escrow if you do that as again there are lots of low lives who default on loans etc.
Personally I just HODL & hope for the price to increase, I'm not brave enough to try & be a loan provider for fear of getting screwed over.

What's wrong with just holding them? If you 'invest' them you could very likely lose them all or a lot. The easiest and safest way would probably be to just day trade but personally I would just buy and hold them for a couple of years and I''m sure you'll have made much more this way than just day trading or investing in some probable scam.

I am seriously against altcoin investments as they are barely profitable. The best you can earn from altcoin investment is when you buy altcoins as soon as they hit an exchange, buy as much as you can at that point of time :)

Naah, gambling doesn't sound good to me. I gamble only occasionally and only small amounts which I can afford to lose, double them and withdraw the profits and so on unless I bust.

I wouldn't risk 10BTC gambling around. Also my luck isn't lucky :P

Best way is gambling. I turned 0.6btc into 40btc in 4 months.

for everyone that is lucky enough to do this, there are ten who have lost 4 btc, not what i would call the best investment

usually the best investments is the one with the highest profit and the lowest risk(the best ratio between those two), gambling isn't one of these, because it has 1:1 ratio

there are some pump groups, if you can follow those closely and be ready when they start to pump something, money are guaranteed

i found this for example, yesterday they pumped ktk http://fairpumps.net/blockchain-pumps/ by 300% or around that

No, I don't have any intentions of doubling my bitcoins. Even if I earn 1-2% every week, this is good for me and will be profitable in a long run as I have no intentions of selling them this year.

Never invest in anything and lock all of your bitcoins in offline storage. Never try short selling or gambling. You could lose all your money. The risk is just not worth taking. Right now, I have a feeling that the BTC has bottomed out. Hold out for some 12-18 months more, and there is a very good chance that you'll receive some hefty returns.

There's no chance am going to gamble. I have kept my bitcoins in different addresses and an offline wallet. I am sure the price will become 1.5x times of the current price after halvening. Will get some nice returns of my investments at that time. I just thought that it would be nice to unvest a part of my coins in some risk free things to earn some minor amount of bitcoins.

If you open an account at an exchange like bitfinex you can lend your bitcoins to someone for a tiny amount of interest. Bitfinex's system ensures they have to pay you the interest and return them. However you could only earn a tiny amount by that method.

It is very unlikely that you'll make any profit by trading at LocalBitcoins. Their buy price is lower than market rate and sell price is higher than market rate.

1-2% a week is a lot. If someone is offering this, you will get REKT.

Buy and Hold !!!!

You could play with 10% of your stash, try trading, try lending to finex or p2P (bitlendingclub...), but risk is high that you lose what you play with.

Sorry, but when your math is that bad, you shouldn't invest in anything. You seem like the kind of person, who will get scammed pretty fast.

There are no "risk-free" investments as far as Bitcoin is considered. All the investments are uninsured, and are not licensed or validated by the governmental agencies. If you want to invest with your coins, then you must do at your own risk. If something happens and you lose all of your coins, no one will come to your help.

Why take the unnecessary risk? If you can afford buying at least 10 btc, you can consider yourself pretty well off and I'm sure earning a few more btc on top of what you are having wouldn't matter much for you isn't it. Believe me, i lost some once and There's nothing more demoralizing than to see a few btc going to the drain for some bad investment decisions. Just leave it sitting idling.

1-2% not on the sum of the total(1% of 10 btc, + 1% of 10+1% ecc..., ) but on  the initial investment, so calculated on those 10 btc only

Just keep them, and let them stay dead in your wallet, like you said. Maybe this is the best option, instead of losing portion of it, or all of them.

It does not surprise me to see no valid advice. I have few BTC and I do not want to gamble them. I decide to keep it, but this will not help to increase value. The whole economic is based on fact to put "money" to work.
I do not trust my luck, I will not gamble.
I do not trust cloud mining as I already invest in some and lost.
I have one positive experience investing in casino.

Any other idea?

If you are looking for a long term investment you can just hold it, you never know what the price of bitcoin will be in next 5 to 10 years, 1 bitcoin could be worth several thousand dollars, many people squandered their early bitcoins, most from early adopters and only to be shocked to see when the price had skyrocketed.

if i were you i would divide my coins into many portions and do different things with them. how big any of the portions are is up to you and what you feel like doing.

i put the biggest portion apart in a cold wallet, and secure it to hold for long term investment. for using or selling when the price is higher.

i would use another big portion for trading, you can do this either with bitcoin < > fiat or bitcoin < > altcoin. whichever you prefer and you know you can profit from.

another portion but a small one, can go towards lending. i think the best place is here on this forum in lending section and only with collateral so you don't risk losing your bitcoins.

many people would suggest gambling as a means to earn profit. but as far as i have tried gambling, i found it a means to lose money not earn anything.

Trading can be profitable but you need high amounts to make decent profit. There is a risk of losing if you do it wrong but if you do it right you can earn a lot. Gambling is even more risk than trading.

well as per my experience to earn bitcoins with less risk i am investing in altcoin coins pos only, sometime it goes up to more than 300% in few days if we choose wisely and keep eye on that to let know what is happening there than we can make safe exit from this ship otherwise it can be much risky if hold them for long time to wait for more rise of price.
Altcoins are where the biggest % change (profit) are at. Bitcoin is one of the more stable coins.

the problem with trading bitcoin now, is that the swings are so slim that you need to invests a big amount, you need to move large volume to do anything, or you are making pennies only

it's just a whales feast now, casual traders can't really enter the market in this condition

If this was altcoin section, then I would say, invest into POS coin.
Personally I like netcoin net.

but since this is the bitcoin discussion part of the forum, well, I really do not know what a person can invest into that is a safer investment, alot of the people advise not to mine bitcoins, but only to buy/hold bitcoins, at least that is what they write in this section of this forum.

I was mainly interested in altcoins when I first got involved with bitcoin, it seemed like a no brainer to me, that if bitcoin went up so much, then an alternative coin might do the same.

But it has been a rocky road of rare intermittent extreme ups, but long term down trends mostly,
and I haven't quite figured out when is the best time to buy to get in on the extreme uptrends when they are going to happen.

Add to that the fact that if investing into alts, there might be abuses from the rest of this forum, if ya try to promote your investment.

Depends on your personal abilities as well, ya have to know how to download new forked/updates and get the old coins into the new wallets, and there is little to no support from anyone to help in that area.

it is high risk and it is an experiment, just as bitcoin is an experiment.

I have just started using BitLendingClub. We'll see if I get my bitcoin back, but if so, I would definitely suggest looking into it. In essence, you are lending bitcoin to people to do things and then they pay you back with interest. There are quite a few traders there who are selling bitcoin on localbitcoins. So my investment results in about a 5.5% increase for a month. Spread that out over the year and you can see how your investment can grow. And there are other traders (some that I wasn't sure I trusted) that are accepting loans with 10% interest. That's 120% growth over a year. Incredible.

Honestly, I would suggest not doing so. Even with the trusted sites there is always a risk of it ending a scam after they gather a hugh bankroll as investments. Based on the history of these investment sites, its better to not invest.

Altcoin investment is sick unless the altcoin has just hit the exchange. New altcoins have a high potential to increase in price, that's for sure.

A lot of people have incurred heavy losses, by investing in altcoins. The problem with most of these shitcoins is that their market cap is really low, and therefore, if someone can spend a few tens of thousands of dollars, he can do a pump and dump. Sometimes people might get lucky, by jumping on this bandwagon early. But most of the times, the normal investor just loses his money.

The easiest and safest way would probably be to just day trade but personally I would just buy and hold them for a couple of years and I''m sure you'll have made much more this way than just day trading or investing in some probable scam.

Yes the best way is to hold them and forget it for the couple of years and sell it when the value goes high that is the safest way and if your are looking for the quick returns then gambling is one of the option but I don't think it is an good option to opt for as great level of risk is involved in it.

The best way for invest your BTC is holding, also you can do trading. Don't gambling! except invest in gambling company(large, famous, and awesome).

Maybe try to be an investor with your btc, offer yourself and find a honest people who want to build a project.

Holding can be the better option at present and if you have captial with you then you should buy more bitcoins as this is the right time to invest in bitcoin as the prices are lower at present and hold if for 10 years or so anc then you can earn a huge amount of profit.

Holding is the best option, but you should know how to store them safely. Wallet hacks and robberies are quite common with Bitcoin, and I don't want some lowlife scum to steal all of your hard earned coins. And holding them for 3-4 years might be enough. By that time, either Bitcoin will be replaced by some other form of currency, or it will be widely adapted and accepted worldwide.

The amount of bitcoin you have is not nearly enough to get in a full time investments. But I think it would be better if you would hold the coins and try to buy-sell your way... :)

holding onto them and waiting for the price to rise is probably your best bet. Or you could always make some loans on sites like BTCjam and collect interest on your bitcoin.

true, btcjam has incredibly high interest rates, but some of the listings are real sketchy; i dont even know what happens if someone defaults on a loan, can anyone tell me?

only if everyone is not doing it, otherwise the price can rise, you know...holding and keep buying is another story, it is a better strategy already then simply holding, because it will aim at rising the price also, thus making your holding more worth it

The best option s one you can fully control. By this I mean not leaving your coins on some online service, website or whatever, which can go down any moment.

This is why I invest into staking and PoS coins, DMD Diamond s my favorite but Tek and Net are also quite nice. Staking is the new form of "mining" but you do it on your own machine.

Its the first time i read about staking and since you are on the forum since years already, i checked it out. Though i really dont get how this should work. They promise that you can earn more over time, not being affected by difficulty rises. They dont explain how this might be possible at all.

Is that bitcoin mining or some altcoin. Might be that one can get more of that altcoin over time, though its unlikely that these altcoins value will be more than the previous timeframes amount.

To be honest, this sounds more like a pyramid game. Maybe im wrong, though i didnt find an explaination how this could work if you value the returns in fiat.

Care to explain?

Thankyou but the problem might come that the coin in which I invest might go down in value and in return I might end up in loss. After reading all posts I feel holding those bitcoins is the best thing to be done. I might buy a few stuffs which are surely going to increase in value (like physical bitcoins, etc)
Let's see what happens next, I still am looking for nice investment options.

Exactly. Holding sounds great. Atleast bitcoins that we hold are safe rather then going for gambling and loose the bitcoins. And ofcourse need to beware of scammers who are keeping watch on our hard earned coins so need to take care of it. And yes it is the future so it is better to hold them for a while.

Holding them or trading them with altcoins on trading sites like ecoin.eu. I trade my btc for LTC and wait for it to rise up but its quite bad for LTC nowadays.

Two years ago, I got some hefty profits by converting my BTC to LTC, but I'll not recommend it to anyone. In January 2013, the exchange rate was going at 1BTC = 400 LTC. I converted one of my coins to LTC. Then a few months later, the exchange rate climbed to 1BTC = 40 LTC. I got almost 10x profit, but lost most of it later in an investment scam.

If you gain 10 times of your investment that is called good investing.
But if you lose then all then that is a bad thing to do.

You can invest in either gambling or in Forex. In gambling you can win fast and loose also fast. So the best choice is Forex, but also in Forex you can loose. All depends from your Forex experience - may be someone can help in Forex, then it is best decision  ;D

Buy a product (anything) in bulk which you can pay for with Bitcoin, sorry no examples I can think of. Sell it on for more.

If you are saying to buy any product in bulk then there cannot be better option then bitcoin at present. As the prices are lower at a moment you can invest in bitcoins and hold it for while till the prices raises up and then sell the bitcoins and this is the best way to get best return on investments.

Yes gambling is a fun and it is more fun if you win it. But you cannot just rely on gambling as it can be proved to be an risky affair so it is better to buy bitcoins and hold it for the future that would be the best investment option as we believe that bitcoin will reach to a new level in the future.

Historically, the first generation of a given innovation ultimately is not the one that persists.

The best investment method i think is trading. But you must know about market price before you try it. You can hold your BTC for several weeks or months than you look market price. The other way is altcoin trading. It's faster than BTC trading, but it has high risk, so i don't recommend it. The last thing i want you to know, be careful when you choose trading site or you'll lose your BTC ;)

i want to add that with great risk comes great rewards. especially now that bitcoin market is stable and boring, altcoin market is a good choice for getting some good profit out of it.
of course it is not easy and not for everyone to jump in and start profiting, it is a good way to double or triple your investment in a short time.

Yeah, you're right. Great risk will make great profit or great lost. It's depend on our management skill. Now, i'm learning about trading, but it's too hard for me, cause i don't know when market price jump high and jump low.

trading plus leverage i would, say, it would allow you to have great return with a little investments, it's the best if you know what you are doing when trading, if you are inexperienced in that sector, you can still use leverage with a even lower amout

leverage should work especially now , seeing how the price is repeating the same cycle of 230-250 in loop since many weeks, so you have a easy path to follow

In Bitcoin world you need to call it a good investment when you get your initial money back and they still pay. 10 times profit? Where is that in bitcoin area? There are maybe a handful investments against hundreds where investors lost all or practically all.

put 7-8 bitcoin in a secure cold wallet and invest like 2 bitcoin in trading. i myself am doing altcoin trading which is pretty good if you know how to profit (i am still learning though) but the profit can be good.

2 Bitcoins for trading is way too much for the start. Since you will lose them with practically 100% security. A newbie will not win, its a hard learning curve.

Historically, the first generation of a given innovation ultimately is not the one that persists.

Nah... i think there are a lot innovations that got their market share so big that no competitor could do anything. And bitcoin got already a lot of competition, not one had a chance.

And really... i dont can imagine a coin that is so good that everyone would go there and leave bitcoin. Maybe bitcoin gets renamed to bitcoin-xt or something, which i would hate because for sure it will be connected to a company, and not being only a free currency, but bitcoin will remain the strong one.

Though if you want to see it that way... at one point in time bitcoin will be replaced with something way better. But thats far in the future i think.

I think the best way is to start trading. but you have to accept the risks and be able to know how to win in the market and reach profit.
also you can start lending people to get some more profit out of your coins.
if you like, you can create a faucet or a bitcoin related website and accept advertisements and earn money that way too.

The best investment option is cold storage.

Too many thieves, scammers, and hackers are out to get your btc.

Keeping 10 btc on an exchange for trading is hit and miss. Making money on the highs and lows is not as easy as it sounds. Then you always have the risk of the exchange getting "hacked" and losing your coins.

You are guaranteed to lose your btc trading altcoins, cloud mining, or gambling. Too many sharks and whales out there.

This seems like strange question from an early adopter - 2011, you should know all/most of the investment options open to you after being around for this long  ::)

You seem a bit newbie if I am honest, no offense.

To answer your question though alt coin trading had been good to me and even though it has slowed down there is still profit to be made investing in them, you could put a couple of coin to the side and learn how to trade BTC/USD which is much better than just leaving them in your wallet doing nothing.

You could even invest in cloudthink.io I hear that is a good investment why not try it?

Sorry to hear you had to learn the hardway but that can be good news when all is said and done because it is clearly keeping you on your toes and you want to keep learning and adapt as you say, see where it takes you. Creating a faucet is not a good way to earn bitcoin. You need avertisements on your site to get a positive return . There are already too many faucets and not many are popular choices for advertisements.

I have a few bitcoins and am going to buy a few more in a day or two. Will have some 10+ Bitcoins then. I wanted to know which is the best investment option where I can invest my bitcoins and earn some profits as their is no point of just holding them and let them stay dead in my wallet.
I think the best way is to start trading. but you have to accept the risks and be able to know how to win in the market and reach profit.
also you can start lending people to get some more profit out of your coins.
if you like, you can create a faucet or a bitcoin related website and accept advertisements and earn money that way too.

How hard is it to create a faucet for bitcoin?  Is there a web template/script one could use to set this up?
Thought about creating one for my friends, to get them introduced to bitcoin.

Thanks in advance!
H.
it is not as hard as you might think. you can even find the complete site script and just change a couple of things to make it your own.
but the point is that creating a faucet is no going to be any good for you. you are going to lose more money than you earn if you don't know how to monetize your efforts.

you need to create a game faucet, or a browser game that pay people based on their skill, a farming game would be ideal, it would retain their interest high on your site, maybe a game without all the headache about the ads, but a deposit is needed to play and you just take a % of the profit

resolving captcha is boring, no one will stay more than few minutes before getting bored

I think create a new faucet isn't the best way. Why don't we build a new faucet rotator that contain 500 faucets inside? We will get refferal commision from our faucet rotator. Just sitting in home and keep our faucet rotator web alive.

I don't think that there are 500 Bitcoin faucets right now. There may be 20 or 30 of them. And you might need to work 20-25 hours, in order to earn $5 worth of Bitcoins. When I first started collecting Bitcoins in 2012, I used to rely on these faucets. But after a month or so, it became clear that the faucets are just not worth the time and effort.

the only way you can earn a significant amount from faucets is if you can gather a lot of referrals and all those referrals visit the faucet a lot. this way you will have a lot of earning but it is still small. I doubt if you can earn more that 0.001BTC a day this way

Are you sure there are only 20/30 of them? Take a look here https://faucetbox.com/en/list This is only faucets that use faucetbox system. Think about how many pay directly or use paytoshi/xapo wallets. It's crazy how many there are! I was surprised myself.

There are only small amount of faucets are using direct pay system. But there are so many faucets those using faucetbox system. We could get much BTC from that. I think about 0.01BTC if our faucet rotator use a special system that can make people interest.

WOW. didn't realize that there are so many faucets these days. the list contains nearly 500 bitcoin faucets. i always thought that because of the low price of bitcoin, number of people who visit faucets are decreased but i think i must be wrong since this many faucets need a lot of visitors to be able to be profitable.

I am yet to find some decent altcoins, but it seems that many of them suggest altcoins but it comes with a price tag of hefty risk. I am planning to up my investment to 40 btc, looking for the right thing to get a good return.

How do u like doing that cloudthink.io promotion on your sig/avatar?

I noticed that they are advertising this with full members and above. Have you gotten some btc pay out of this yet?  Do they pay you by how many times you post on bitcointalk?  I thought about signing up for one of these ad services once I get established.

Cloudthink.io generally is giving a very high payout but everyone is saying that its a scam and i believe it too. That high payout is simply not possible or else they will pay for few weeks and then shut down or run away so it is not a reliable campaign If you want to earn good and for long run then join the trusted campaign.

Invest your time learning how to trade forex and trade in it with btc on 1broker. Will it take 4-5 months to start seeing some earnings? It will be worth it, I can tell you that. :)

I guess trading forex has other rules than trading bitcoins. So whats the minimum amount of money so that you can trade and the fees dont eat you? And once you learned how it works, which amount of money do you need to make a profit of, lets say, 50USD each day?

Can you trade forex with leverage on 1broker too?

You might reconsider that campaign. There are strong hints that the project is faked, so to say, its most probably a scam. They used pictures to show their own project since someone found out they took the pictures from another project. And other things. See the following threads:

It is totally a SCAM.. Don't go on their higher payouts and don't get greedy. Just remember "Slow N Steady Wins The Race" So I believe to join some genuine signature campaign no doubt even the pay out is not much higher as compared to cloudthink.io but you are getting paid on weekly basis and thats the best thing;.

You cannot be so sure that it is a scam as it is making a payment on regular basis so it would be too early to make a judgement that it is a scam. The people are against it as they are not able to digest the pay out they are making and surely they will say it is a scam but it might prove to be the best campaign in the future if it is genuine as its payout is the maximum.

I haven't invested or looked at any of their investmentment plans but in the scam accusation thread , there is enough proof to show that they have faked a lot of things on their website. I couldn't even find an ANN thread for their investment site, which makes the way they run the site extremely fishy. However as for investments  , I have seen a lot of scams making payouts in the start and then stopping after they make enough money, so you would want to be careful where you invest your money.

Yes they will pay for certain period of time to attract the users to join their campaign and they will surely pay for month or two to gain an attention from the users and once they are done with their profits they will simply disappear which would directly affect the investments of the users so it is better to be more careful before joining campaigns.

i was in the campaign for a week and all the warning signs are there, one of the biggest would be the insanely high (5-15%) referral commissions they give, mining is an industry with razor sharp margins of profit, there is no reason to be giving out that much money, in addition, their signature campaign pays 0.1 bonus to hero and legendary members. no legitimate cloud mining operation can afford to give out that much with the current difficulty and bitcoin price.

You can trade or only hold you Bitcoins with leverage on BTC-E with Metatrader, so you get 3x more money or loose 3x more money if you are looking to get more than you have now.

The highest payout until now i think are bit-x and dadice. Those are the highest signature campaigns. So don't be greedy if you find a new faucet with higher payout than dadice and bit-x. And the last thing, they give 0.1BTC to legendary and hero member, where are the funds come from? Ponzi system from their member?

The only, truly safe, "investment" is signature campaigns.  I guess you are technically working for them.  ???  Other than that other options are providing escrow or investing in projects you believe in.  There is also day trading, cloud mining, and investing in an online casino.  The possibilities are sorta listed in order of what I feel are safeish.

Believe the members that are here a longer time. It might be that the campaign is paying now, it even might be that the campaing members wont lose money as long as the escrow is legit and the escrow fund is funded before they vanish. But if a company is faked, with faked images and so, then its practically sure they are scammers. Obviously they would only earn from users that buy their products.

Its up to you how you will feel once you realize that they are scammers and you maybe led some users to invest in them.

Though as long as the escrow is legit and the funds for payment are there for the next timeframe, you wont lose money. But if the escrow address is not funded then thats the last time to go. Of course only if you dont care about some victims you possibly helped to create.

If we want to get profit in trading, we must had much bitcoin to trade. But if we just had little, the best and the fastest way is gambling. But you must know when you should to stop, even you have a good talent in gambling. If not, you will gain nothing because of the greed

Yes if you want to double your bitcoin in quick time then gambling is only option left for you and it depends on size of bitcoins you hold if you hold more then trading is the best option but if you have less then go for gambling.

Gambling should be for fun and for short time and if you keep on gamble for the long run than I am very much sure you will be holding nothing in future as gambling is a addiction and winning everytime is simply not possible.

Signature campaings aren't really an investment. Sure, you are investing time, but that's more like a regular job if anything. Also, it pays peanuts, realistically is just a small extra. I don't think i've ever done more than like 10 post in a day. It's just not worth the time spending too much time on this beyond regular posting, it doesn't pay enough, but like I said before, it beats posting and getting nothing, since I would still post some anyway.

my advice put them on poloniex and loan then to others, those loans cant be cashout from the exchanger, there is a thing called margin trading that act as colateral to be able to get a loan you must left some coins to get the loan to lend the bitcoins to others there is nothing hard to do just move the funds to lending and put your offer on the market currently there is an 0.06% interest isnt much but is 99% safe those investment can lend the bitcoins from 2 days up to 30 days.... soo to protect yourself i would sugest 2 days those way you can see market how is going

the best 'investment' is to put your coins in physical cold storage and wait for them to go up ..

Depends what you mean by investment options.

I'd say that physical loaded coins are at this moment in time Casascius or Lealana are the most well known although there are other makes available. At least you know they cant be lost if an exchange gets hacked or goes bust and you can just tuck them away somewhere for a rainy day hopefully for in a few years time when they're worth considerably more than they are now.

And with the most loaded coins, because there were only so many made they will only go up in value over time as some are redeemed.

Exactly the best investment options for bitcoins is to hold it for the future no need to experiment with the investmenst as we know that everything is unpredictable and uncertain but we have faith in bitcoin so we should go for investment which is trustworthy.

There are a lot.

Different exchanges, like okcoin or bitfinex, allow you to provide liquidity to others. As long as you trust the exchange your money will be safe.

Then investing in a dice site. You will earn provision from it. Still you have to trust the site.

Then there are alternative cryptocurrencies where you can provide liquidity. They pay much but in my opinion the risk is high since they create value out of thin air and you might stay with nothing at the end.

Then btcjam.com. If you are cautious you can earn around 20% per year without a big risk of defaults. Though thats something i only heard from others.

Alltogether have the risk of losing everything since in order to receive something from them you first have to give everything you have to them. And if you get it back is the question.

Not on this forum you can't, but I think you should exchange them into other currencies. See what's high and what's low in the market. Wait for a currency to go up and sell. Gold is good too. That's what I'll do if I were you, I suggest you can also sell them for a higher rate or lend it to people and make money of interest. Worst case, if you're brave, do some gambling, that will either make you crazy rich or take away your 10 btc. Good luck on your investment.  ;)

No you won't find them in your old bitcoin addresses, you have to buy them. And if you don't want to be left behind because of compounding you have to buy a considerable amount. I would advise against buying into DMD, just saying how it works bro ;)
If you really want to try staking you can choose your coin from the list on stakeminers.com https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=989670.0 - the coins they stake I would consider quite good. Choose from that list if you are too lazy to do your own research. Just don't spread too thin (because of compounding for big holders), I would choose 2 coins most..

be careful since most of cloudmining services are scam and just a ponzi. especially the new ones that don't even have a decent website.
besides cloudmining is not profitable because of the high difficulty levels and the current bitcoin price. the maintenance fees are more than what you can earn.

Why would you want that? I mean after a year or so you will be mining dust with your hashpower anyway or will not be mining at all if fees are more than earnings. Just choose Hashnest and you're good to go. Might look into Bit-x also if you want to diversify.. Most of others are scam or unprofitable.

You can still buy the old wallet and private keys from them. I once did so and well-earned. But now there is no old wallet on sale.

Now there was a new coin in the likeness of clams. But I do not remember the name. I'll be looking for.

When you bought these wallets... wasnt it a risk? I mean you could not tell them why you bought them.

I would like to buy the wallets of a couple exchanges. Would be fun going through all these addresses. :P

You could probably loan them for later profit. However, you have to be wary of scammers who don't repay loans.
Or you could trade on the market.
Also, you could invest in cloud mining, but there aren't very reliable cloud mining providers out now.

Loaning is not a wise option.
Default rates are pretty high. Unless, you have a good hang of it, you could lose money.

he said very reliable, and he has a point, and i think i'm with him on this, because those cloud while being the most legit, they could still run away one day, nothing prevent that, the fact that they are legit for now, does not mean that they will be in the future especially if some of them will collapse one day, it could happen, if the price tank too much

I wouldn't say gambling has a 1:1 ratio ;P

sell at 250
buy at 220

use 50 BTC to do this.

This works, until it doesn't. You can be safe for now daytrading on that range, until one day you wake up after selling at 250 with a price of 500 BTC per Bitcoin and start crying. Sure it's probably safer than straight gambling, but it's pretty risky.

follow this simple rules :

1. buy at least 100BTC @ the current price $245
2. store your coins in the deep cold storage
3. wait until next halving starts (2016,2020,2024.........)
4. Sell your coins at least @ $500

so, you will make about $195000 profit.

for me in trusted cloudmining site almost nothing to lose .
which site  ?
I'm looking for that with no contract
means a lifetime

Why would you want that? I mean after a year or so you will be mining dust with your hashpower anyway or will not be mining at all if fees are more than earnings. Just choose Hashnest and you're good to go. Might look into Bit-x also if you want to diversify.. Most of others are scam or unprofitable.
just heard there is something like ghs or dont know what called ummiso can be traded like altcoin, sorry im new about this
and make a some profit

follow this simple rules :

1. buy at least 100BTC @ the current price $245
2. store your coins in the deep cold storage
3. wait until next halving starts (2016,2020,2024.........)
4. Sell your coins at least @ $500

so, you will make about $195000 profit.

Or you could make a $195000 loss. You can't predict the future price. It may rise or it may fall. So one shouldn't follow this suggestion blindly. You could end up regretting.

Investing to the "house" in legit casino site might almost get you a guaranteed profit. You could try investing there. Or exchange with alts but has high risks too.

Best way is gambling. I turned 0.6btc into 40btc in 4 months.

You must be one very lucky guy.
Is there a specific game you like?
And is there a specific method you use?

I don't think there is anything known as strategy in gambling. All so called strategies are going to lose to the house in the long run.

It's all about luck. You either win crazy big like this guy or end up losing all your cash and go broke.

I have a few bitcoins and am going to buy a few more in a day or two. Will have some 10+ Bitcoins then. I wanted to know which is the best investment option where I can invest my bitcoins and earn some profits as their is no point of just holding them and let them stay dead in my wallet.

I think you have to wait for few months more to see the exchange rates are get increased, If you some sufficient funds then do not sell your BTC, rather wait for three to four months to get the hike in the exchange rate. There is a high possibility that Bitcoin transfer exchange rate would be increased in coming months

Nope there are some strategy like martingale. It will help you a little bit and you need some luck to win dice games. But you need to stop it when you get some profit. If you know when to stop I dont think you will go broke if you just spend 1/3 of your income or may be 1/4 per month to try your luck in gambling and just play safe my suggest so you wont be crazy if you lose it  ;D

When bitcoin price is low then buy Hash from Hashnest's market.
When bitcoin prise is high then sell Hash at that market.

That's a solid plan. (I'm doing this.).

it is not a bad idea.
but faucets rely on how many visits you can get every day, and the earning from owning a faucet is not that much good considering hosting and other costs.
creating a gambling website can make you more money only if it becomes popular which is not an easy task to achieve.

What do you expect from the site faucet? put up some ads and get a few dollars? I think it is less effective, it is difficult to achieve a good faucet sites like freebitco.in. especially every visitor should really click on the ads and it is hard.

I would agree with the gambling sites :D

There are companies who are working to bring bitcoin investment , but as of now there are no public bitcoin companies yet, so investing in individual companies is only available to venture capitalists. :)
There are three ways to invest in bitcoin as individual:
1.buy and hold individually through an intermediary or exchange,
2.invest in a fund,
3.or invest in individual companies.   ;D

simply having a signature campaign doesn't mean your dicesite will be succesful. No matter how many people you have advertising for you or how much money you throw at a campaign if your site is untrustworthy or there are better sites out there why would anyone take the risk in playing at your site? Trust can't just be bought with advertisers but built over time.

I can think of few things to invest your coins but my best pick would be trading. Cloudmining is not an option here as it is just way too risky. Maybe you can go buy profitable sites on flippa or something. Or invest in a project that's with a good ROI and good plans, guaranteed long term if you're up to that kind of investment. As for me, I'm fine with trading on ecoin.eu but whatever suits you best.

Isn't trading just as risky though? For the little gains to be made it doesn't seem worth the hassle and keeping coins on an exchange is always risky in itself.

every sort of investment has its own risks and rewards, the important thing is the risk and reward ratio.
trading is not little gain if you know what you are doing. but it always has the risks associated with it and there is nothing to do about them.

Yes, much like all investments it has it's risks.
You can however make good profit if you trade larger amounts.
However, with larger amounts comes bigger risk ;)

Exactly. The profit is just great. I just checked on their live feed of trades and there are transactions that just hit the jackpot today due to the present bitcoin price. Remember, just invest what you can afford to loose. I won't recommend you depositing your whole bitcoin wealth in trading or any form of investment. Save some for later. You'll never know when will things turn ugly.

It indeed isn't an easy task to become on the most popular dice site.

Just creating a signature campaign won't even help you achieve this. Too many dice sites. Too many competition. Just head to the gambling section and check it for yourself. You will see lots of casino/dicing sites all offering almost the same thing.

If you manage to make something unique this might help you give a distinctive look amoung the crowd.

Always only use a small amount of money when you aren't experienced in trading. You need to learn it first and i can ensure you that you will lose your first investment pretty fast.

Trading simply is not as easy if some make it sound. You will lose for sure. So better learn with an amount you know you will lose it and you are ok with it.

If you aren't ok with any money then try paper trading. And make sure to include the fees of the exchange.

Trading is also risky but you can set on which number you want to sell or buy it, and it is safer compare to others like cloudmining that we dont know the background or who are in charge of it that makes cloudmining have a really high chance to  run away with investor money

If you have that much btc with you, then you probably shouldn't invest on this forum. Maybe you can trade more, buy low sell high. That wouldn't get you a lot of profit but it's probably better than saving it, cause that way no one would know bitcoin's future value. Or you can try gambling, that's always risky in a way. Really don't know any better option for bitcoins, if I were you, I'd use them for stocks right now. It's just way easier and faster to earn a profit than btc.

investing in mining is also feasible if you know how to do it, a good way would be to buy miners and sell them at halfway of the roi, around 3 months

then you get 50% back from mining activity(which is also anon) and more than 50% on selling your device back, probably 80%, because there are not new better miners, so they retain their value nicely

in the end you have 30% of your initial investments, in 3 months, it mean 10% more per months, not bad if you go big, like 100btc investmens

actually if you can manage to buy at a lower price, then it is a good "long" term investment. because in short there is probably not enough profit for you.
additionally the price can grow much more that what it is right now, and especially in the next year that the block halving is going to happen.

I guess you didnt understand the meaning of short term and long term investment. Let me tell you here, with you buying at the lower price, that means you applying on doing short term investment, because you repeat your trading process, otherwise long term investment means that you just bought bitcoin in every price and stack it high enough so later you will earn the profit through the higher price. I assume that you want to get profit but a big one in a one time trading right, that is include in short term investment

LOL the shillin, i don't believe there a right investment for bitcoin but is better if you learn to trade so at lease you only have to think about the bitcoin price and try and get a better position when you trade bitcoin.

Buy low sell high, but it's better if you have around 50. But that's the only way unless you want to try gambling. If you're looking for profit, this isn't the forum you want to invest big. But you can try a good gambling site.
Price is highly volatile and unpredictable. A burst bubble can instantly get you negative profit. Gambling wise, you are more likely to lose in the long run than gaining profit. If you're talking about investing in a gambling site, every legit gambling site has a negative EV, aka. house edge. It should in the long run, get you up by 1%. But, a whale (http://www.dailydot.com/news/biggest-bitcoin-win-gambling-history-nakowa/) (though he lost some BTC afterwards) can easily wipe out the bankroll or even an exploit (https://medium.com/@Stunna/breaking-the-house-63f1021a3e6d).
The more important thing is to find a trustable BTC gambling site which allows investing which is hard to find. The only trustable gambling site I can think of is just-dice which accepts clams.

To simple for you to think that you can hit low price and then hit the high price again. It is easy to say but so hard when you want to do this. Bitcoin price is volatile and it is not that easy to predict that you will buy on the low price and always can sell it at the high peak, you must make some mistake when you think this is so simple, with experince trader sometimes make mistake too because of this.

If you're looking for profit, this isn't the forum you want to invest big. But you can try a good gambling site

This forum is good for earning some bitcoin from signature campaign, it is still got the best payout and its the safest so rather you gambling its better try to make some constructive post so they will pay you higher

They're acquiring more licenses and rights to land to plant more of their Cannabis strain and industrial hemp.  They are expanding...  Also, Cannabis is becoming legal in more and more states in America.  I can see the Cannabis industry going really big over there, and they'd soon be exporting Cannabis based (legal) products, like cotton, oil, medicine, etc..  I could also see other countries lifting Cannabis laws and becoming legal in the future because of America's influence.

If the Cannabiscoin crew play it right, they could create one lucrative enterprise.

Yes you can do day trading for altcoins or exchange for fiat.
Please keep in mind that you should buy low and sell high.
And also that always invest in more than one altcoin.

i was just at PrimeDice, making some small dust bets, meanwhile i was looking at other people's profile history. if you look at the amount wagered and the profit you can see that a lot of them are in minus profit which shows that you would lose on gambling.
gambling can make you profit, that is true but it is not an investment because it is dependent on luck and not skills.

The best option s proof of stake. Staking is profitable as mining and much more secure.

I have to agree. Gambling is the worst advice. Its not even an investment. Mathematics say you will lose over time with certainty. And you cant change the odds on dice sites for example.

And there is NO working strategy.

I would strongly advice against gambling.

Additionally... NEVER invest on emotions. If you feel you will lose a chance and you feel the urge to invest fast then DONT invest. There is simply no chance you have to take on emotions. Thats a costly lesson i learned and i hope i can safe some of you with that advice. :P

I think you should let them stay dead in your wallet and after some years after you will see at least 2 folds profit from them.
So it is a risk free strategy.

I have a few bitcoins and am going to buy a few more in a day or two. Will have some 10+ Bitcoins then. I wanted to know which is the best investment option where I can invest my bitcoins and earn some profits as their is no point of just holding them and let them stay dead in my wallet.

The best thing to do: hold them in your wallet and every day save some other buck to buy some others. To leave those too at your wallet. the wallet is the best and the most profitable investment for the bitcoin. All the others have high risk and you can lose them it you will try.

I can tell you my story. Then you are free to judge what to do. I bought my first bitcoin about three years ago. I invested them in a bitcoin fund. Lost all. then I bough some other. Invested almost all of them in cloud mining. Earned about 1 bitcoin. After a while (and after leaving those in my wallet without doing nothing) I decided to invest them almost all in another cloud mining site. LOST ALL.

That's the story my friend. The best period of my investment I think was the time that I leaved those in my wallet. This is my advice for you. Buy again and let those sleep in your wallet.

Huh? Oo Cloudmining more profitable than pos coins? Of course it depends on the coin but with cloudmining you need to be lucky getting your investment back, with pos coins you often enough earn on rising coins and staking. And you dont lose your investment.

So where is your thread?

Yes, the price drop risks exists in almost all investments. If one think about this risk then we can't do any investment however it is more safer way of investing in BTC compared to investing in some SCAM programs.

I return to this thread to see if someone has good idea or experience. Unfortunately it seems not yet and I am not sure if someone will in future.
Investments opportunity:
Altcoins - I have no knowledge or understanding what to choose and where invest. It`s almost luck for me. I do not use it.
Gambling - To play in Casino you need to understand the House edge of the game you play. I play, but with faucets only, I promised myself do not deposit to Casino anymore.
Sportsbetting - There is to my opinion some opportunity. If there is a skill, understanding of game, study of teams or players or good advice then such investment can be sucesfull in terms of good return. I am using it, with great help of some experts here in the forum and my knowledge. I am betting on some sports. But it`s still risky.
Investments opportunity - This part can be very long to explain. So far I found lot of scams there. I have only one good experience when I invest in Casino.

I personaly do not agree that best investment is to keep Bitcoins in the wallet. They need to be used. All benefits of Bitcoin is only when works and then it will gain the value.

I agree that Bitcoin can be investment itself if someone is keeping it speculate of price increase. But this is very boring.

Good luck to everyone. Be wise and think twice (may be more) before to invest. Still looking for new opportunities.

But if you don't wish to be getting scammed then use escrow, ask for a valid collateral and never trust anyone In lending btc(except escrow :D).

You can't be sure someone is a scammer or not. But the probability is different between someone who paid back 20 loans and someone who did just one reputation loan.

You are going to get some defaults, so you need to invest in 10 to 20 loans at the same time to cover defaults.

Due to Bitcoin XT wave, the prices are crashing down to the floor.
If Bitcoin lives after this wave of crashing prices then definitely it will be a good thing towards mass acceptance of bitcoin.
Hopefully it will recover the falling prices and we will see the prices teaching the moon.

In my opinion, the mere acquisition of bitcoins by itself is a good investment; I don't know whether you are really forced to risk your btc or not, because it is well know that every investment always involves a risk. At least I prefer to be very conservative in this matter; perhaps it would be enough to participate in signature campaigns to increase your bitcoin with no risk.

If we have 10 Bitcoins in the digital wallet then its not a good idea to just keep it there. Ideally its better if we can invest is some where in trading. or sell it when there is a price rise. or else do gambling is a better choice.

Why would gambling be a better choice? IMO it's never been a better choice, just leave it in your wallet and let speculation do its work.

I normally make investment of my bitcoins with company’s like crowdearner, but its been a long time since I last invested my bitcoins. Doing investment nowadays is full of risk, and I can’t take such risks so I am being careful, just storing my bitcoins in my wallet. Bitcoin itself an investment option for me.

maybe bitcoins are itself is the best investment. we can buy a lot of bitcoin and sell on the other price and we will get a little bit losses too and its very time consuming too.but if you want to try something else then you should go for financing with buying and selling that will be more profitable but i didnt have tryed it till now. dont try mining in present time due to high difficulty level ( i dont think anyone will ever go for mining again excpet very rich peoples ) . buy and sell is best option or oil investments are also best investment

I think gambling is the best, since you have idle coins that you are making use of, its best to play gambling with it and scrape out money online. Gambling is the easiest investment you can make online to get some profits. But never forget about the risk, gambling obviously has.

All investments are not really safe in bitcoin world, either a mysterious profit earning company or investing in sites and risking the deposit too, holding it for a BTC price increase is a better idea IMO.

Right now with current value, the best investment option for bitcoin is trading. But it has big risk
I am sorry but I do not think trading is the best option.  Bitcoin is not moving much right now and if you sell at a point where you think it will drop in hopes of rebuying later, you may be sad when it crushes that barrier and moves to the next level.

I have a few bitcoins and am going to buy a few more in a day or two. Will have some 10+ Bitcoins then. I wanted to know which is the best investment option where I can invest my bitcoins and earn some profits as their is no point of just holding them and let them stay dead in my wallet.
many people said that bitcoin is not a safe investment and a lot of investment scam, I agree with this, and I encourage you to invest outside of bitcoin, you may be able to buy gold or silver, or perhaps using bitcoin was to open a small business.

I would think that startups that accept Bitcoin would be a great place to do some research for investments with Bitcoin.  These startups are looking for funding from anywhere they can get it and if you bitcoin when they are accepting it, that would be a great place to start looking.

trading bitcoin is infact the best option. don't forget that with stocks and such investors are happy with a 10% gain per year. trading bitcoin can make you 100% per year, if not more. you just need to be a smart trader.

Yes, storing your bitcoins in your wallet is the highest investment you can ever make with bitcoin. Bitcoin is volatile, so it increases and sometimes decreases, but mostly increasing.
When you make investment online with one Btc and keep one Btc to your wallet, and the price of bitcoin eventually rises to $500 from its former $400. The company will pay you the exact $500 you gave them with a little profit, while the bitcoin in your wallet will have more value during that time.

if you are interesting after buy the Bitcoin. invest some of that bitcoin like half of it into some ICO or the other cryptocurrency but look into a promising one like for the ICO you have to learn about their coin and what are the coin going to do, if you invest on ICO and that ICO maybe actually a SCAM then you'll lose your money.

But if you lose then all then that is a bad thing to do.
cloudthink went bankrupt ?

You could always in some other coins like ethereum and litecoin. Also look into new ICOs, do research and see what their project is aimed at and if your research yields positive results then you can invest in it. I've seen many people who made a lot of money from investing in ICOs which ended up doing well. Although be very careful when you do this and make sure you've done adequate research.

We recoznize two strategies in investment decision. They are long term investment and short term investment. In Long Term Investment, Investors try to buy bitcoins at certain lower price level and then hold them for several months or years to come. Their main target is creating high profit but it is more risky and investor need much time to monitor price movement at anytime. While in the short term, investors try get profit in smaller amount within shorter period of time. This decision is no so risky compared with the first decision. My wise advice is : If your plan is long term investment, you are suggested to sell some of your bitcoins when you have got profit to be realized to minimize and control your investment risk.

In both, I will go for ETH. But these are altcoins and they don’t have much stability in market. Not about the prices but related to the market value. Altcoins are so much and some of them are playing good part on their side but on comparison with bitcoins, I believe bitcoins take the lead always for so many reasons. So if you are planning to invest bitcoins for any other altcoins, you must review your decision.

I recently do my own research and comes to know that Cybermiles is going to release its testnet release in public through live conference on March 30 at 11:45 AM (GMT+8)! and they claim that it is 100 times faster than Ethereum.

So it is very interesting and will check it on 30 march.

Kindly do your own research before you invest in any project.

I have stored my bitcoins in various addresses and offline wallets. I'm sure the price will be 1.5 times the current price after quitting. Will get a good investment return at that time. I just think that it would be better to shed some of my coins in some risk-free way to get some bitcoin. If you 'invested' them, you are very likely to lose them all or a lot. The easiest and safest way possible is to just trade daily but personally I will only buy and hold it for a few years and I am sure you will make much more of this way than just trading a day or investing in a few possibilities

Invest in an ICO. Of course, you have to pick the one that best suits you and the one you really like. Do your research about it and check the background of the developers behind it. Just be sure you have to invest bitcoins you're prepared to lose or else you'll be crying when you get scammed.

Or you could trade on the market.
Also, you could invest in cloud mining, but there aren't very reliable cloud mining providers out now.

In my opinion, you can participate in Bitcoin trading platforms or join online or offline trading groups. With this investment, the profit is derived from the "buy low high". Therefore, you need to regularly update the prices at the trading floor and select the appropriate transaction time. You can update prices daily on Coinmarketcap.

Buy an antminer if you can spare a few bitcoins for it. It doesn't really cost that much compared to what you have. You can get around 2-3 miners and let them mine on their own so you can generate a lot of bitcoins from these ant miners. So invest on them and probably, you'll make as much coins as you can.

there are lots of scammers offering ways to grow your bitcoins.
Maybe you could go to the marketplace section & look into providing people loans with interest decided by yourself although make sure you use escrow if you do that as again there are lots of low lives who default on loans etc.
Personally I just HODL & hope for the price to increase, I'm not brave enough to try & be a loan provider for fear of getting screwed over

Few things to invest your coins would be trading. Cloud mining is another option here as it is just too risky. To invest bitcoins nowadays, on exchanges, on some new project or at altcoins must search deeply before any investment. The best investment options for bitcoins is to hold it for the future or altcoin trading.

In all the above option’s you have to accept the risks

I agree with all previous comments of those who recommended to save Bitcoins. It is really a wise solution. You should wait and invest them a bit later when the price will be much higher. Before you invest, you should conduct research for you to know what is going on the market at the moment. Don't trust emotions when thinking about the variants to invest your currency into some projects, which don't have any potential.
