I'm interested if we can get everything verified and the timing right. I guess I'm technically a noob, so it's up to you. Please post if I'm not qualified. We can ease forward and see how it goes. I haven't purchased anything here before,  so I reserve the right to run at any time! I'm going to start doing some research and I'll post back.

OGNasty is a reputable escrow around here.  If he's not interested in validating the hardware itself I'd be willing to do it for you for $50(payable in BTC at the time that I ship it to the new owner).  For that I'll unpack it, inspect it for physical damage, power it on and point it to litecoinpool.org using your worker info so you can see it hashing for a few hours(I've owned several of these miners in the past and am familiar with configuration), and then repack and forward it along using a shipping label that you provide.  I'm located in TX.  I'll escrow the miner funds themselves as well if you like.

If it came from Zoomhash it's likely just fine assuming nothing got damaged during shipping, they're a trustworthy team.

I recommend Vilain pay the $50 and do that regardless. It would be a much easier sell once in your hands quake. I just can't absorb the $50. It makes it a borderline deal for me.

emosewa, I have no problem making business with you. Regardless of buyer's status or activity, I'll only dispatch it after the escrow confirms receiving the funds.

quakefiend420 I really appreciate your disposal of helping with this trade. I think $50 is a fair price for the worries. One question: I'm not sure (expect to confirm it when it arrives at Shipito facilities), but I think the miner came from Zoom without the power cables. Would you happen to have the proper power cable in order to turn it on?

For everybody interested, I can pay for the verification, but buyer will still need to pay for the freight expenses.

I was afraid this was an impossible deal, but now I have some hope it's gonna work. Thank you! :D

Edit: one more question. I'm trying to think of every possibility, so, imagine transportation damaged the product, would you be willing to wait for me to find a potential buyer for the defective piece? (obviously for a much lower price). I don't think it will be the case since both DHL and Shipito are extremely serious companies, but it's better be safe than sorry.

Yes, I do.

As to your other question, yes that would be fine as long as it doesn't drag out for months or anything.  As long as we can sort a buyer within 30 days or so, that's cool.

That's very nice! Thank you for your answers so far.

Another question: after you receive the machine the funds would be cleared to me (minus expenses and your fee)? The reason I ask is that, although I must obviously trust you in the deal, I think it would make more sense if I wasn't responsible for your shipping and eventual issues with the buyer. I mean, after you verify the machine, will you become the person responsible for it?

I would be careful dealing with this user. He once purchased an ebook from me, among with other 10+ people. He wasn't satisfied because he couldn't read the tutorial properly (his fault) and then he made a big scene and leaked my genuine tutorial.
No one else had any issues with that specific ebook, just him.

Blazed's review can be found in the link below.
If he tried to extort someone for $15, what's gonna he do for $650-700?

uow man, u gotta be joking

do you check my posts page daily since you sold me that stupid thing you called "guide" and I tried to receive my money back?

Get a life, bro.

If I'm being that careful and accepting an escrow it's obvious I'm not planning to scam anyone. Why the hell would I be talking about an escrow? Do you even know what that means???

btw, you think I tried to cheat on you, but this is because you are plain stupid. That was not the case.

I'm sure potential buyers will not fall for your naive attempt to harm me as vengeance for leaking your """""""""""""""""method""""""""""""""""

go sell your baby-style methods and leave the adults conduct real business ok?

Escrow will be released when the buyer confirms receipt and requests it be released, just as with any other escrowed transaction.  All that I'm doing is confirming that the miner works and isn't damaged, I'm not assuming ownership of it.

I will be shipping using a label that you or the buyer provide to me(this will need to be determined beforehand), I have no control over the package once it leaves my hands, so I cannot assume responsibility from there.

Shipito, seems to be a very bad service provider with poor customer care and problems with "losing" people's merchandise. Also seems to be over priced so I could take this if we split the difference on shipping I would have no problem with escrow especially with quake, but my problem would be the expense shipping to him then the shipment to Pa, witch I would expect to be at least 150$.

Let me know in no circumstances I will send first to someone with no credibility so chances are this will fall through unless you send first or you pay escrow fee.

I understand. My concern is this:

In order for this to go through I would still have to trust the buyer as well, since he could just tell the escrow the package arrived damaged. What could I do then? The escrow would have to give the money back (although he verified the product and charged for it), and I would have no way to recover the machine.

This is costing me a fortune already, I can`t afford to pay the costs of freight and end up without machine and money.

I just had an ideia, if I could find someone interested that happens to know somebody from Brazil that could verify my identity (and that I could talk to and show documents and papers), maybe that way the sale could go smoothly, don`t you think? As I said, I`m no scammer and in my line of work I depend highly on my reputation to eat. Of course you don`t have how to verify any of this, but maybe someone in Brazil, that the buyer trusts, could verify it for him.

I`m really lost in ideas here guys. Please note that I would have to spend freight money in advance, so, for me, if there are risks involved, I would rather just tell Shipito to keep my miner for them (or destroy it, or whatever).

Please read the post above this.

I appreciate your interest but please note there are more complexity in this transaction than a simple matter of paying the escrow fee.

As I said before, I am not running any risks here, because I already lost a fortune with this stupid idea and I can`t afford to waste more money on this. So, whether we figure a way to make it without risks for me, or we just close this thread.

If paying escrow fees is the issue, i can pay it. In fact I have stated it before. But there are other issues here.

That is a good point.  This is a bit of an abnormal escrow situation since it's 3 way shipping...

I suppose the best thing to do would be for the buyer to agree to release escrow once I've validated the miner.  That requires the buyer to just trust that I'm not going to send them a box of rocks or something, but they're already trusting me to validate the miner anyway, so not that much of a stretch.

Yea, I would close it then since you've never even touched this it's a ghost to you and us. So unless you are sending this to an escrow with free shipment to the escrow this won't happen. This would likely be the price for me to get one locally sending it to 2 places.

agreed quake, but problem falls to the buyer that is taking this multiple shipping charges for having it sent to a to b and whatever elese. That it puts the price close to 900 I'm assuming.

From me to just about anywhere else in the country via FedEx should be around $50 or less.  The seller is definitely taking a bath on the shipping to and from Brazil though, I'm sure.

Escrow will be released when the buyer confirms receipt and requests it be released, just as with any other escrowed transaction.  All that I'm doing is confirming that the miner works and isn't damaged, I'm not assuming ownership of it.

I will be shipping using a label that you or the buyer provide to me(this will need to be determined beforehand), I have no control over the package once it leaves my hands, so I cannot assume responsibility from there.

That is a good point.  This is a bit of an abnormal escrow situation since it's 3 way shipping...

I suppose the best thing to do would be for the buyer to agree to release escrow once I've validated the miner.  That requires the buyer to just trust that I'm not going to send them a box of rocks or something, but they're already trusting me to validate the miner anyway, so not that much of a stretch.
agreed quake, but problem falls to the buyer that is taking this multiple shipping charges for having it sent to a to b and whatever elese. That it puts the price close to 900 I'm assuming.

From me to just about anywhere else in the country via FedEx should be around $50 or less.  The seller is definitely taking a bath on the shipping to and from Brazil though, I'm sure.

The shipping to Brazil cost me 300 USD with taxes, and Shipito and DHL fees. I'm not paying anything for the return to USA, since it's just a traditional return to sender (I'm not shipping it to USA, the package never left DHL custody).

The shipping from Zoomhash to Shipito facilities in California cost me 50 USD via UPS.

I believe that's the average shipping expenses within the USA, so that would make 100 dollars of shipping costs.

Plus 50 USD escrow fee = 150 USD.

That would leave me with only 500 USD, which is not fair in my opinion. What do you think about splitting it with the buyer?

Buyer would pay a total of 725 USD for a perfect, verified, delivered to his place machine.

Still way better than Zoom's 799 + 50, no?

Would that work?

Please, those who said were interested, what is your opinion? Would you clear the money after the escrow confirms it?

Ok, I guess it turned out to be too expensive. So now I'm ready to pay for all the expenses.

Buyer will pay only 650 $.

I will pay escrow fees and shipping costs.

Buyer must agree to release the funds as soon as the escrow confirms the product quality.

Why would I do that?

I'm only shipping after payment is confirmed!

BTW, I was under the impression you had a highly positive trust, but now it shows your trust is 0.

is this a bug? Don't you have any trusted feedback? I can't accept you as escrow if you don't.

Ship it to quake and once he confirms condition (pictures before opening, during unpacking, repacking and mining) and is paid his part, I will send the funds to escrow and once I receive it, I'll release escrow.

That's about the only way I am going to be a player in this deal. Most folks here would run from this.

That does not work for me, sorry.

I'm only sending after escrow confirms payment (I don't see why do you want otherwise, since escrow might just give your money back if anything goes wrong).

And I'm only accepting this deal if buyer agrees that escrow releases the funds to me right after confirming the miner is ok.

As I said before, i don't want any risks. I'd rather just have it destroyed than loosing more money on it.

Thanks for your interest.

That is kinda stupid? Destroy it instead of selling it? Even if you sold it for $300 and paid $150 shipping and escrow you would still at lease get $150 back from your original purchase. You already said shipping to US will cost you nothing because of return to sender. So you are looking at risking $50 buck to send to Quake to verify. That way even if you didnt pay quake the $50 escrow fee he would have a machine to cover it. Sorry man I just dont understand the reasoning behind what you said there.

If the transaction involves risking more money for an untrusted individual, I don't care about the transaction.

I also do not understand why would someone want me to send it before paying the escrow, and also someone would not agree with clearing the money after the escrow verifies the product (since he would be trusting the escrow for - damn - escrowing, in the first place).

Mysteries of life, I guess.

I agree once escrow gets item that money should be sent to escrow. But it is standard practice not to release funds from escrow until the buyer gets the item and is able to verify it. From earlier post it looked like you wanted quake to release the money as soon as he got it. That would leave all responsibility on him as the 3rd party. Why are you even doing it that way? Buyer pays escrow, as soon as quakes verifies funds you send to buyer, buyer gets item and tells quake to release funds. You are making this alot harder than it needs to be. If you use quake he is not going to give the money back to the buyer without just cause. As far as it getting delivered damaged that is the best thing that could happen for you! The buyer would get a refund, and you (being smart took out $1000 insurance on the deliver) get reimbursed for the damaged item. Much easier than you are making it.

Well, I don't know if any insurance is available from Shipito services. Anyway, the insurance should be made by the escrow who relases it. If it's his responsibility, why the hell would I have to relay on the good faith of the buyer???

Those are my conditions and you're not gonna change my mind. I really appreciate ideas and suggestions but this kind of post is completely useless to me. I'm not running any risks here.

Escrow is to protect both parties of a transaction, not just the buyer. It's just not fair.

I know it is to protect both parties! That is what I am trying to tell you! Escrow is only responsible for holding the money not all the shipping and insurance and cost that is on you. I dont think you understand how escrow works. Not trying to bash just trying to help you understand. Good luck on your sell.

I understand and appreciate your concern. It's just that this transaction is not a usual one. Escrow will receive money to check the product. I expect this money to cover escrow's responsibilities as well. Otherwise I would still have to trust the buyer, and I'm not trusting a newbie for 500 bucks  ;)

villain,

Listen to the others. Maybe research the use of escrow because I think you're confused (not "think" actually, you're are wrong). Escrow is released once the buyer receives the item. In this particular situation, you're are sending the miner to a third party who is than sending the miner to the buyer. Until the buyer receives the miner the escrow is not released.

This is actually a better opportunity for you since the miner will go the Escrow holder first. He can verify that the miner is in working order and everything before shipping to the buyer. IF the buyer tries to claim he did receive or received a bad miner the escrow can verify it did work. In the end you actually have more protection than a usual transaction using escrow.

No. The escrow holder (quakefiend420) whom you're are intending to send the miner too would receive the miner first from what I understand. He will verify the miner works for both parties since he has experience with the A2. Once he determines the miner works, he will repackage and ship to the buyer. There will be a tracking number so you can see when he receives the miner. Once it is received and verified by the buyer that it works as well, the funds will be released to you.

If the buyer claims the miner is faulty or damaged, the escrow holder can determine if the funds will still be released. In this case since the escrow holder (quakefiend420) will be verifying the miner himself before the buyer receives he will be able to determine if the buyer is lying or there was actual damage during the shipping from his place in TX to the buyers

Exactly, so if "he will be able to determine if the buyer is lying or there was actual damage during the shipping from his place in TX to the buyers" why should I hold responsibility for it????

This discussion is pointless.

He just doesn't get it. He wants the money but no responsibility. Good Luck.

Nope.

I hope he doesn't sell on ebay. EVER. If he thinks escrow is awful here try the ebay return policy.

He also doesn't understand he's selling a miner he hasn't even confirmed himself works. He wants someone else to take the responsibility and make them liable for a product he bought and is trying to resell.

Nope makes no sense.....

good luck with the sale!

I believe we've worked out a deal, guessing it will take a week or so for DHL to get it back to the US freight forwarder and then to me.  At that point I will test it myself for a day or so to confirm it's in good working order, will pay vilain directly out of my own pocket, and then will be selling it myself.

You'll be dealing with me directly at that point, I will not be functioning as an escrow but as the direct seller.  Hopefully that makes folks a bit more comfortable, it definitely makes the deal simpler.

PM me if you're interested in buying from me directly, taking offers.  I will not be taking payment from anyone until I've received and tested the miner.

It can be, depends on your power costs.  Pretty sure most people buying scrypt gear right now are leasing and mining alts for speculative trading, which should have higher returns than mining straight LTC.

Scrypt gear seems to be carrying a premium right now since it's harder to get, as well.

The ideia when I bought it was to mine alts, not LTC. There are plenty of Scrypt alts that would ROI this machine in 3-4 months tops if you got a decent price for electricity. When I bought it that wold be the case for FTC, it had a good price and pretty reasonable diff by then. I don't know how it is now, but I'm sure there are other Scrypt alts that could make this ROI even sooner.

Not sure how this concerns you, since the deal involved Vilain, quake, and myself, but I'll entertain your curiousity. My point and question is quake going to notify me once he's checked this machine out so I can send my coin and get the machine I committed to buy? To further clarify....A machine was offered up for sale, I committed to paying the asking price under certain terms, the terms are in the process of being met, so I'm posting back to find out when and where I need to send coin so I can receive my miner.

Hope that helps.

Hope that helps.

Well, there was never any deal involving me and you, buddy. Let's remind how things were the last time I heard from you:

Ok, I guess it turned out to be too expensive. So now I'm ready to pay for all the expenses.

Buyer will pay only 650 $.

I will pay escrow fees and shipping costs.

Buyer must agree to release the funds as soon as the escrow confirms the product quality.

Do you want to go ahead and work on getting it shipped to me so that you're ahead of the game once you confirm a buyer?

Why would I do that?

I'm only shipping after payment is confirmed!

BTW, I was under the impression you had a highly positive trust, but now it shows your trust is 0.

is this a bug? Don't you have any trusted feedback? I can't accept you as escrow if you don't.

tks

So, I said your terms were not acceptable, you did not reply, I proceeded with a deal with quakefiend420. I've never compromised anything with you, and I have no idea why you think I did.

If you're interested in buying the machine, please contact quakefiend420 and make your offer.

Regards.

I threw my coin on the barrel top early in this deal and have been waiting for quake to verify it's existence so I could send the coin to escrow. I even recommend quake do the inspection. Where does that leave me?
not sure your point or question?

Not sure how this concerns you, since the deal involved Vilain, quake, and myself, but I'll entertain your curiousity. My point and question is quake going to notify me once he's checked this machine out so I can send my coin and get the machine I committed to buy? But then you proceeded to with the process that met my terms. It's being shipped to quake, the money put in escrow, once the buyer receives the miner, the escrow is released. Exactly what I requested. I've been reading and waiting to follow through on my commitment. I don't back out on my commitments. Once quake receives it and approves it. I'll escrow my coin, then when he ships and I receive it, I'll release the funds in escrow and you get exactly what you wanted in the beginning. I don't see the problem.

I don't see the problem.

Apparently there are a lot of things you are not seeing here, mate.

Let me put it in bold, in case you got any reading difficulties.

I'm selling it directly to quake. He's not being an intermediary, or escrow, for the deal anymore. He is buying the machine from me. There is no other deal that concerns me.

You made your offer, I said it was not acceptable, you didn't reply anything, and then I sold it to quake.

Life goes on.

Contact quake if you wish and buy the machine from him, as a completely separated deal that has nothing to do with me.

have a nice one.

I'm not your buddy or mate, but I know what escrow is, my miners that I purchase always get delivered to my address, and this miner won't ever ROI the misery involved in reading this entire post. Damn. And I still stand behind what I offered up front.

My apologies Rockyforever. I'm apparently an idiot at risk assessment here.

I've been made aware that there are some scam attempts going around via PM for this miner.

I haven't asked anyone to escrow anything for me, and I haven't made any arrangements with anyone to act as an intermediary.

I am purchasing the miner from vilain directly.  Once it gets here I will test it, and then it's for sale from me directly, just as if you were buying anything else from me.  You will deal with me directly and me only if you want to purchase it.  Anyone PMing you claiming to be me or vilian or anyone else and asking for BTC to be sent anywhere is trying to scam you.

If someone PMs you that looks like me, check the trust, username, and member status first!!!

Quake is by far my first choice for this job, he's the man with mining hardware. :)

edit: it would seem he's now buying the miner? lol.

Someone created this account https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=759430 to try to scam using my username. I warn everyone involved this is a scammer. A fake account impersonating me.

I'm not trying to sell the machine for anyone other than quake.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS.

Whatever you do, for as profitable as it might look, be sure to post it here, publicly, before sending coins to any person.

OP updated to reflect that.

Me and quake are in the final settlements for the transaction, and everything should be concluded by Monday.

If you want this machine, contact him directly. Make sure it's really him. Make sure you are sure.

Emosewa, thank you for sending the alert.

Yep, this seemed the easiest way to do it.  Then anyone who wants it can just deal with me directly instead of a rube goldberg 3 way escrow deal lol

No problem. For forum info I've asked quake to notify me upon receipt  and verification of the machine. He has agreed and I plan to purchase the machine from him once received. I need to go to Texas anyway. Lol

cheers.

Confirmed.  Unit is here and powered up, running against litecoinpool.org now.  Only been running for 10 mins or so, but so far so good.  Going to let it run for a while and make sure everything's stable.

That's so great!  ;D

Thanks a lot for the detailed report and confirmation!

I'll let everyone know of final settlements.

I guess you're not gonna use this thread to re-sell it, right? It's kindda messy here  :P

Dang. Where's my props? I rode this out like a champ. Through skepticism and scammers, I'm showing 2 days until this thing graces my farm with it's presence! Lol

Received and hashing away! Thanks to Quake, Vilian and everyone else who helped put this together! Goes to show you not every deal that looks like a scam is a scam, but with the right safeguards in place and taking time to pay attention to detail,  those too good to be true deals can be legit!

Thanks again!
