This must happen because maximal 21 million bitcoins are mined and every 4 years is halving and then we are able to get half the reward per block from the period before. So it will go like so much btc are mined, this is just an example, not reality: 10million btc, then it will be after halving 5million. besides the popularity of bitcoin has gone up from last year when the price was $200 which means more investment (demand) which can only bring the price up. It wont fall, because we all also know that the halving is coming for Bitcoin and we dont know what will happen after that. We just have to wait and see for what is going to happen with the coin. I cant pull up charts from when it was back in 0.72 cents or whatever it started. But the signs are there that if it took over 6years to where we are. I dont think it`ll drop back down to $200. While I am not hyping halving and see not more than $500-600 as a realistic target this year, I don't think it will be all that easy to touch $200 mark. $350 has been established as a mid-term bottom and now it will take a bigger event to break it to the downside. Perhaps even already rivalling with the long sideways market in 2012.
Stable periods were often the base for jumps in price. So I would not be surprised if the price rises again in the near future, even with the current core/classic discussion. 600 are perfectly possible in the next months. We must have patience in Bitcoin if you want to make some profit with Bitcoin because it is a currency so it takes time to rise and sometimes it can also fall. there is a reason behind the stable price and that is the accumulation phase. a lot of big whales are buying bitcoin at this stable price before it is too late and before the price goes up. Yes there is no need to rush things with bitcoin we are going to profit one way or the other and the direction of bitcoin is going upwards. Peaks and bull runs are nice for short term traders to make some quick dollars, but it's useless for the long term price of Bitcoin as the peak and bull run effects will fade away at some point.
