Title: Putting money in lottery is gambling too?
Post by: Zohaib_Ali on July 29, 2016, 05:22:12 AM
Hello everyone, so I joined freebitcoin about a week ago, I can afford to buy around 500-1000 lottery tickets. But when I see last round the first winner has just 120 tickets but other winners got 10000+ tickets, if I buy around 1000 tickets, will it be worth and is it like gambling? Will it be addictive? Guys please tell me that lottery is second form of gambling or not?

buying more tickets will only give you higher chance of winning but still there is no guarantee, no one can even say that freebitco.in's lottery is provably fair. personally i see that feature as just another thing to catch bitcoin users attention but no one really wins on that unless someone provide here proof that he got the prize from there

Gambling has very simple definition where money involve and we have risk to lose it than no doubt it is just a gambling, that is why I'm pretty sure lottery is form of gambling where we lost our money same like playing on casino games, for some people putting money is very attractive and it can be addictive.

Lottery is gambling, and chances to win there are less then 1 %. Did I said 1 %, better to say 0.0000001 if you are playing some high paying lottery with lot of participants. Lotteries on National level with first prize in millions. Chances with one ticket are very, very low.
I don't like lottery, and I never played lottery. For me there is other games where I can use my skills to win something, lottery is just waiting.
I heard about people who buy more then one ticket for lottery, and every ticket with some new combination. And in the end guy who bought one ticket win. This game is not for me, I like to control thing around me as much as possible.

it is OP! you're buying lottery with btc and hoping you can win that lottery, after that, you'll buy more and try again. It's almost same like gambling (you're hoping win when you gamble). But i'm also don't understand how freebitcoin lottery works, it's just a little weird when see the winner just hold small amount of tickets.

Yup, it's totally gambling and can be as addictive as any other form of gambling.   I'm sure you've seen these poor saps in the gas stations scratching off their lottery tickets.   Well it's even worse online and you can lose all your bitcoin a lot quicker.  Have fun but be very careful.

obviously playing lottery is gambling too and also it would make you become an addicted because as you say that for the first try you had already lost and now you may to try again with buying more a lot of tickets and without you realize that this is early symptoms of addiction

Lottery is also gambling because your buying tickets which gives you a chance to win the pot. It could be addicting to other users and for your last question yes we could say lottery is a second form of gambling. Adding this quote I got from a site about your question.

Quote
The second form of gambling is where payment is certain from one side, and uncertain from the other. The one paying for certain is actually staking his wealth, in that it may bring more wealth or it may be lost totally. This is probably the most widespread type of gambling and has many different forms.

Playing the lottery is gambling no matter how you look at it.
The addiction question is different as that will depend on what type of person you are, some people just have an addictive personality and some don't so no easy answer to that question.

of course it is gambling, remember that you are betting something for profit, so it means that you are gambling.

lottery is the worst type of gambling. Unless there is some sort of lottery I dont know but from what i know every lottery has much worse
odds compared to the odds of actually winning.

The more lottery tickets doesn't give you guarantee for sure, it can only increase your winning chance there because lottery result is depend on our luck, where outcome based on luck that is pure form of gambling, lottery can be a little bit different but it is very similar gambling.

Yes, it is still gambling, since it involves risking your money... Having many tickets is good, but it doesn't mean that you will be a sure winner, since it is like raffling numbers, no assurance of winning... Not that you will get addicted to it, it's more like wasting money...for sure, from time to time you will be buying tickets, hoping on your luck which I think is already a form of gambling...  :)

I think there are two definitions, can be regarded as gambling or not. and your case here only buy a ticket to expect prizes by lottery. I think this is not gambling.

But you can Increase your Chances of Winning By Buying more Tickets......

Title: Re: Putting money in lottery is gambling too?

Playing a lottery is like playing dice with extremely low odds of winning but high pay out.

I think it is less addicting though than real life lotteries. In real life, people often buy tickets every week because they don't want to risk not winning when their neighbour wins for instance (we have a postal code lottery, that one is really sucking people in for this reason).

Does it really matter if it is gambling? You obviously have some funds on a gambling site already, so that is not the problem I guess.

When you spend money in order to get more money and had a chance to lose it, it is called gambling and lottery is gambling, buying more ticket you give you bigger chance to get the prize but it doesn't mean that you are going to win it

as far as i know, playing lottery is one of the gambling game but we sometime we do not realize it because its really fun. we bought for example 1000 lottery for cheap price and hoping that our number is out to be a winner.

if you ask will it be addictive? my answer is yes, if you only want to be a winner on that lottery. be careful, do not be so addictive. loss you money while you want and you can, and in the meantime, if you loss, don't regret it.

Lottery is equal to gamble and it is more like to play on dice site to chase the bigger odds and winning chance is very smart, I also buying lottery tickets for National lottery of my country but it is just for fun, because I know that it is like to hit the jackpot and maybe I will not win the lottery entire into my life.

I don't know how or what makes you think that lottery is different from any other gambling games. Basically lottery has a 50-50 chance or even 20-80 chance of winning or loosing so basically it is gambling. Both have a risk that you will get nothing.

It is a form of gambling since you get a win chance as well according to the total number of tickets you will be buying. The more your buy the more the chance to win but at the same time the more you will lose in case you don't win. So it's exactly the definition of gambling.

I think the lottery on freebitcoin is pure luck, even you buy 1000 tickets it's also about luck and i think lottery also about gambling, because it's risk your money and hope to win.

Yes it is also a gambling,

If you bought a lot of tickets, then you do have a lot of chances of winning compared to those who bought a few tickets.

And as for the one that win in first place with 120 tickets only, Then He is just a lucky one to be the winner, Lottery is still considered to be a pure luck game and all of the results are unpredictable, So buy tickets only on what you can afford to lose, As we don't know if you will be hit by luck or not.

Of course it's gambling, and nrmally is gambling with very bad odds. Normally the house edge on roulette and most casino games is smaller than the house edge in lottery. As for addiction I think it could be, it depends on the person of course.

Well, in my opinion, it is.. It involves money and the percentage of winning is too small, lottery is gambling.. There is also a chance that you'll get addicted it but I don't think that it is as worst as being addicted to dice games.. But it is good to buy atleast one ticket from time to time. But buying too many tickets? that's a waste of money.

Lottery is qualified as gambling for the reason that the game is solely base on luck.  As one of the qualification to determine if the game is qualified as gambling games is the presence of chance or luck as the main factor to win.  Unlike poker and sports betting where skills is the dominant factor  which gives you an edge on winning the game.

Of course it is. You put your money in lottery and expect to gain more money in return. Does it take any skills to do that? No. Does it take any knowledge? No. The only thing you need to do is putting your money. That is no different than playing a dice game at all.

Of course playing the lottery is gambling, it's OK if you just have a couple of tickets a week though. That way you're only putting a bit of money out with a small chance of becoming very rich.

The OP has an issue though if it's true he spends that much on lottery tickets.

Lottery isn't exactly gambling.
Well of course the definition match, but it's gambling on a very low odd of a very high win.

The main difference is that you can hardly become addicted to lottery! Because you know from the beginning you got nearly 0 chances to win :)

It's gambling, but I would also argue that playing the lottery is less addicting than playing slots for example, because there is more time between putting your money in and getting the results.

lottery is usually the worst type of gambling , cause usually it has the higher house edge ( not always tho )
you can't find an edge in the lotteries which make it a -EV gambling
also in freebitcoin there is no proof about their provably fair lottery , some of the results may be fake
at the end people should use freebitcoin as a faucet only in my opinion

Yes. It is gambling. What else could you call it? When you spend coins to buy tickets, for that chance to win, that is gambling. And, winning depends on luck.so it doesn’t really matter that much if you buy more, because there are millions of tickets in a draw, so unless you buy millions, It doesn’t really guarantee a win. Buying more tickets just gives you more chances.
Personally, if I were going to gamble anyway, I’d pick something that isn’t just based on pure luck, and with much better odds than the lottery, like Poker or Dice.
Good luck tho! ^^

of course putting money in lottery is similar to play on a gambling site. Because both have risks and where we have to face risks it is clearly form of gambling. Even lottery is most worse than gambling because in lottery we have very rare chance to win something.

Although a lottery is gambling, it is a great way to male people very rich without much investment, there are many stories of millionaire lottery winners for example. Just limit the number of tickets you plan on buying and don't expect anything in return. The odds are low but if you win it will be worth the investment.

Lottery is gambling, but one of the hardest games to win. I think freebitcoin lottery is hard to win, I never won any place there. I claimed tickets, I tried to buy tickets but I didn't had luck.
I think its better to take coins from there and deposit on some better sites. There is more provably fair sites, and real casinos.
Every dice site is better then freebitcoin in my opinion, or just I had more luck on other sites.

How can you determine weather a lottery is hard to win or not? The luck is calculated by the number of people participating and chances for each of them to win.So basically, you cannot predict anything before actually having the participants.Out of 100 people each divided tickets fairly, each of them roughly has a chance of 1 % win.

I think its better to take coins from there and deposit on some better sites. There is more provably fair sites, and real casinos.

While shifting from that paradigm,it is tough to make profits anytime soon. From faucet/lottery to a paid investment based games, lot of risks involved.

It is a sub section of gambling but advantage of lottery is very clear and more bigger as you have chances to win some huge amount with some smaller and fixed sum of money. It is usually cost few bucks a lottery ticket if you loose it is tiny amount but in case of winning your all dreams will come true. Gambling has many branches and lottery is one of them you can not apart it from gambling.

Yes, it is right. Buying lottery is also one type of gambling and people can lose lot of money in this habit because the winning chances are very less compared to other gambling methods. So people may want to buy lot of lotteries to increase their winning  chances and may lose quite a lot of money in one shot. That's why some governments banned lot of lotteries.

You are indeed correct, lottery has the smallest winning chance compared to other games but in fact there are many people love to play lottery because they only need to spend small amount of money to win a huge amount of money. Most of them think that they will win it later when they have a great luck, and boom..they will be rich once they win it (as long as they win bigger amount than what they have spent before win) :)

Lottery is similar to bet at high payout(9900x) or even more at dice. With small amount of money we can gain huge profit if we win it. But the chance to win such lottery is very small. Only very lucky person will get it! So, lottery is part of gambling no doubt about it!

Yes, as everybody is saying . Everything that offers a profit whether it is big or not. And there is bet included. It can be considered gambling. It has many forms like dice game, Black jack, pocker and etc.. And Lottery is also a form of gambling. Now, there are many players who buy tickets for lottery. Lets just assume that there are 100,000 individual person who buys ticket for the lottery. But, we must put into mind that those 100,000 people will not buy only 1 tickets right ? The more ticket means more chances of winning so they tend to buy at least a hundred of them. Just imagine how many entries are there, the chance of winning is very small. Luck is all you need in this kind of game.

Absolutely! That is gambling because you need to risk money to make money, although what you are putting is just a small amount to win big money but you are risking it to lose. If you think that you can win in lottery just like others then I would say it is very hard to do it, just put only a little amount for your entertainment.

Of course buying this lottery tickets is already gambling, this tickets will increase your chances to win in the lottery but don't guarantee this for you, as you can lose too, just like gambling with bitcoins or fiat.

People don't consider playing lottery tickets as gambling even there is no difference between them. It is in fact trying to hit high payout which we see in lottery as mega prize or jackpot but it is similar. In my opinion it is gambling but people don't see anything bad in playing lottery and call to see luck. I have heard of many people lottery is good to play as chance.

Lottery is the most basic form of gambling.
It helps if the winning number/ticket is chosen in a provably fair way.

Actually lottery can be won almost every week with the +profit, if you have the tools, to bet on all the numbers possible, 2 Australians already did that, but they manage to bet on 60%, but anways they won.

Lottery isn't exactly gambling.
Well of course the definition match, but it's gambling on a very low odd of a very high win.

The main difference is that you can hardly become addicted to lottery! Because you know from the beginning you got nearly 0 chances to win :)

But the question is "Putting money in lottery is gambling too?"

So that would be still yes,
even it is in a very low odd of a very high win, right?

Cause gambling from the definition is putting your money at stake in a chance of winning something more from it.
So lottery is still a form of gambling, and it does have a very low odd of winning.

Yeah most lotteries are a good way to lose your money. If you are smart you try to invest your money.
And no lotteries are not an investment...

They would not allow an investment because they are sure that will take the money of the betters and they don't want to share their income. I don't understand why some people are really trying their luck in lottery when the chances are very low to win. Better play it in fair game like dice with 50% chances of winning.

In my own opinion, anything that involves quite an amount of risk in relation to income is gambling the level or rate of chances differentiation faced rise to different name calling that we have aside that its gambling... In addition to your position I will say its gambling in the since that buying more tickets is just to increase your chances of winning and not to actually win nd that's one of the conditions of gambling... My 2 cents...

Obviously, yes, because you're risking some money in hopes for greater returns. It is gamble because you still choose to purchase some tickets with less chances of winning even though you know that there are others who also purchased tickets but in a higher volume (and more chances of winning, too.)

Yes lottery is a gambling game in nature..  It is all chance and no skill at all.  So any game that is a result of chance and not predefine of skill in winning is considered as gambling.  It also have an insanely low chance of winning.  Think of 1 in a million chance of wininng.

Exactly as long as there is a money involve or any monetary unit involve and you are going to grow it by chance then it is gambling already.

But you must not just rely on the winning chance but of course there is also a losing chance. And that's lottery why considered as gambling too.

Just always gamble what you afford to lose so that you are not going to make your heart break.

Lottery is also gambling but it gives you a very slim chance of winning a jackpot with a small sum of money.
Buying lottery is same as buying hope but the house edge is higher than other gambling games. Very few people managed to win the top prizes in the lottery even if they bet in their entire life.

That's true, some had even died already but never experience winning in the lottery, that is just a game of chance and only if you are extremely lucky where you have a chance to win. Your skills cannot be use so you have to pray and hope that you will receive your blessing and win the jackpot.

Betting on lottery is definitely a gambling since you are betting and in nature its only a matter of pure luck to win  jackpot price that seems to be almost impossible. Lottery have the slimmest winning chance compared to other games, as other said 1 in a million chance, thats true. if you are the most luckiest person then you might  won that jackpot prize and change your life.

I am sorry but I don't think our chances of winning are huge, the only huge there is the prize and when the prize is too big usually it is hard to win that or our chances is too low. We bet low and the chances are low, that is for gambling, we need to bet big to win big and not the other way around.

Yes in other games out of 5 bets at least we have a chance to win 1 or 2 bets. But here it is not like that we have to wait for long time. And also I am not sure that we will win the lottery.

It depends. I consider scratching tickets as gambling (the tickets where, if you win, you can instantly withdraw), because I myself got addicted a few months ago with them. But the monthly/weekly lottery.. I can't consider it gambling, because you can't be greedy in lottery and you can win a HUGE sum for just a few cents/bucks. I don't know how to categorize the lottery.. it's gambling and it's not at the same time.

The lottery is even worse than gambling in most cases because it's run by the government and fixed. It doesn't even have gambling odds, it's basically just putting your money towards someone else getting rich every single time. It's a socialist tax on people foolish enough to think they'll win a fixed game ;)

yes there is no doubt about this that putting money in lottery is also gambling because it also totally depend on luck and there is no use of mind or skill, in other gambling there is a little element of thinking or skill is present for example if you are betting in sports you will have a good experience of the sport and on which you are going to bet, you will also know about the player of the match but while putting money in lottery there is no skill or mind involve and that is totally depending on your luck.

Just my opinion, if you will just bet on lottery in bitcoin sites, just bet on the real lottery game, because there, the prize is increasing with the same bet amount, while in btc lottery games, it is not, its just faster.

But isn't gambling the same thing? You're placing a small bet hoping for a big win. I've earned $30 from $1 from lotteries, but that was just pure luck. Lotteries are like dice betting with BTC, where you choose a big payout.. luck has to be there in order to win a lot. And sadly, most of us never got this luck :(

There is no any doubt that it is also gambling, if you spend your money in there then you will have 50/50 chances of loss/gain, and with that if you chase your lose or if you started to earn and continue to spend more and more time in there then you will be addictive to it and will lose your time instead of spending it with your family and on your job.

Yep, lottery is just another kind of gambling no matter how you put it. People think lottery is not gambling because it's a socially 'accepted thing'. If you pay for lottery ticket in real life every single day, then it's okay for people. They won't judge you. But if you do poker in casino every single day, then people think you're immoral, a gambling addict, and that you should be ashamed of "wrongdoing".

But if you look at the bigger picture, lottery is simply betting on a set of numbers and waiting for the next day to get the results.

Lotteries are like dice betting with BTC, where you choose a big payout.. luck has to be there in order to win a lot. And sadly, most of us never got this luck :(
yes no doubt about that both are gambling but the difference is that lottery is totally depending on luck and there is no involvement of mind and techniques, but i blaming with luck you also need a little luck, at least you must know the way of gambling but in lottery system you do not need for these things.

Lol lottery is gambling too, and those winners that only have 120 tickets and got the highest amount of winnings is just lucky unlike those that bought lots of tickets.

Exactly lottery is also a gambling too and if there is money involve or any monetary unit or currency and you have a chance to win for it.
Then that is really considered as a gambling too so if you are going to see it clearly putting your money in lottery declares that you are gambling too.

Lottery is fun to play because you will not be addicted to it due to your chances, when a person is not winning even do he keeps on betting he will likely lose his interest in gambling so I would suggest that one should focus on lottery though your chances is very low.

Lottery is a form of gambling too. I always play in my national lottery and buy from 5-100 tickets to watch on TV on Sunday afternoon. I must say it brings me a lot of emotion during the time I am watching the numbers on TV. I always play 6 from 49 , chances are very slim like only 0.001% of winnings when you buy even a lot of tickets but if it happens I will be a rich man then.

yes indeed mate lottery is also a gambling putting your luck on your bet is a gambling there's no exemption from there, and regarding to get addicted there's a big possibility that you will be addicted on it since you are aiming to win, after that or after winning you will aim  more and more, so if i were you just be more extra careful.

Yes lottery is gambling and as you asked, lottery will also bring addiction which is usually due to greediness.
I have a friend who ruined his life with lottery, he bought too many tickets and he won few but very less money and loose with more lotteries.
Out of hoping to win more, he bought more lotteries with his all salary and also with loaned money later he was bankrupt.

Honestly im not greedy in lottery because its my hobby daily habit buying lottery ticket for me is always just fun.. but expecting also for a profit because its a large amount of win.. i won before and i make $1500.
putting money in lottery depends if you are the owner.. or the game is easy to win but the problem is those are risky..

This is the kind of betting that does not our well being. Betting according to habit and with money that we can afford to lose daily doesn't affect our inner being compared to betting with big bets and betting randomly.

Lol. Ofcourse it is gambling.

A person is gambling whenever he or she takes the chance of losing money or belongings, and when winning or losing is decided mostly by chance. Gambling in Canada has grown at an unprecedented rate over the last decade and is an increasingly popular recreational activity. While gambling was once illegal, or viewed as a disreputable activity, social norms have shifted. Gambling is now a multi-billion dollar industry in Canada, and its growth is likely to continue. Surveys indicate that the general population favours funding charities, health care and other important initiatives through the funds raised from gambling.

While some may consider gambling only to be associated with casinos and racetracks, there are countless activities that are considered gambling.
There are many different ways to gamble, including:

casino games (Craps, dice, Sic Bo (Chinese dice game), Pai Gow Tiles (Chinese Dominoes), Slot machines, Roulette, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud, Three Card Poker, Casino War, Baccarat, Spanish 21, Pai Gow Poker and others)
    bingo
    keno
    slot machines
    lottery tickets
    scratch, Nevada or pull-tab tickets
betting on card games, mah-jong or dominoes
    betting on horse racing
    other sports betting
betting on games of skill, such as golf or pool
    tombola and similar games
    internet gambling
    stock market speculation.

That's a lot of tickets that you're buying everyday. I usually only buy at most 3 tickets a month since I don't really do lottery. I'd rather play in casinos really. Lottery are pure luck testing way of wasting money. I never prefer it unless I have astrology predictions for winning based on my star signs. But, both lottery and astrology never say same thing.

Yea lottery is gambling also but it is most ulprobably unfair game which i ever see.In my country on tv news i saw how they are scamming with lotter and bwcause of that i nevef play lottery.
Yes, they see the number that has been sold less overall and then declare that number as a winner. I think these dice gambling is 100 times better than than those lottery. At least we know all we loose is because of our luck and not been cheated.
of course dice is better because it is easier to win even though you can only win smaller amount of money with it, lottery is also gambling and it is one of the worst gambling games

When you try your luck in lottery means you have the bigger option of getting chances to win a big amount of money. In the sense that money involved thats gambling already, you gamble because their maybe a chance of  winning, remember big prize at stake if you win in lottery.

Why worst? because you are likely have chances to be hit by lightning than winning a mega lotto. This is just to add to how it is hard to win the lotto yet we keep on buying lotto tickets thinking that it is just a small money with very big prize - it then become a habit - daily buying of lotto tickets.

lottery games are the worst form of gambling in my opinion.

you pay a fee to enter by buying a ticket or one of those scratchers and then you never win. you always face loss and see someone else that you can not even be sure if it is legit or not wins the lottery and you become depressed.

I remember in one of the tv news station saying that you are more likely get struck by a lightning than winning a lottery. Of course, this is true because the odds is way against your favor. This is really worst form of gambling but most of the people betting lottery seems expecting already that they will not win and can bear the losses.

Of course it is gambling. It is under the gaming and lottery commission in some parts of the country so why would it not be considered gambling?
You give your money for a ticket to try and win something out of it.
Isn't receipt of the prize not taking a gamble? ???

It is purely Luck based gambling, their is no strategy to win the Lottery. Everything is on luck based , ya if you have got any inside information on which number is going to win is separate thing.

But you are talking about freebitco.in site and that site is purely scam, as till now no one has claimed that they have won the lottery form this forum. Who ever have claimed are the newbie who just opened the account and their first post is they have won it. From this you can know that newbie account is a site alt account to show the users that they are genuine.

lottery is just another form of gambling. though it has more high risk and low return. and it is addictive. if you find yourself preoccupied it, or gamble rather than work or sleep then it's its time to reevaluate if this has become an addiction. and when it is, just walk away man, while you still can.

Where ever high returns and unassuming of income is their , it is considered as gambling. Lottery is the old gambling which is used to be played long time before also. Be care full just dont invest in freebitcoin for lottery as it is manipulated by the site owners. Older players are never got any winning share of Lottery.

It is, kind of. You're risking money with a low chance to win. However, becoming greedy in lotteries is harder than in casino gambling because the win doesn't really come fast (you put in your ticket and you have to wait DAYS for the result). Therefore, for those having problems with controlling themselves, lottery might be another option.

You will surely lose in lottery than win - you get more chances of being hit by lighting than winning the jackpot in lottery. My advice is that, better save that money that you regularly buy for lottery tickets and don't get jealous by very lucky winners because even they themselves can't believe why they won after all :)

The lottery means it's like a jackpot. Those who born lucky he will win this game. Yes, here the investment is small and the profit is too high. If you win the lottery, you will become rich in a single night. But you have to wait for a long time. And there is not sure that you will win the lottery once in your lifetime. So if you have trust in your luck play the lottery or else better stay away.

That is so correct there mate. In lottery, even if how much tickets are you going to buy, you are not guaranteed any winning at all and your chances of winning to lottery is very very slim - you are likely getting hit by lightning than winning the lottery jackpot. However, if you win that jackpot, then you are a heck of a very lucky person! :)

thats why many people played and trying their luck its a one hit big time deal, if you win you will be rich right away if you lose
you will keep on buying tickets not realizing that you are already spending too much money from it, and that's why it is also
consider gambling because of risking our money to bet for it.

It's a kind of gambling but becoming greedy is hard in lottery because the result comes after a long time instead of seconds. Even an hour is enough for a bet and you can control yourself. On dice games where we've got sometimes even >2 bets per second, you can't help but become greedy and lose all you got on you.

All money that you are going to bet or to place is already a gambling you are involving money there and you can say that it is a free bitcoin and you can really earn there or win you need at least to risk some money before you can win and before that you need to lose first before you win and then YEs you will become addicted into that thing.

I know that but I usually do not play it, that is not entertaining for me and a waste of money. I wan't to achieve success in a slowly but sure way and I am willing to go through the right process.

Honestly, I am more having interest in doing parlay bets than lottery, a 1,000 odds with a good payout is like a lottery, but at least you will have fun capping games.

As long as you are risking a money to win money then it is gambling... But anyway, lottery in real life is not as bad as other gambling games since you have to wait for the next day or few days draw before you will know the result... Therefore you are going to bet one at a time, unlike dice games in online gambling, you can bet as fast as the site could cater your bet...  :)

Lottery will not make you poor but it will not make your rich either, I do not even know if those people who testify that we saw on television are real winners or they are just paid to attract us and believe that we have a chance to win if we are just lucky, people pray for this as it will suddenly solve the problem if they can hit it.

Yes lottery is gambling too and I think it's one of the games that gets the most profit. Just take a look around you, almost everyone is betting on lottery. Everyone is wasting their money in hopes to get a shortcut to success. It has become a common thing in the society that it's not even seen as negative as any type of gambling. If people see you playing card games, they'll give you life advice and say that you have to change yourself when themselves are also gambling. SMH.

Yes putting money in lottery is also gambling it is a type of gambling in which you bet your money for others money and no one will know who will win the lottery. The same happen in the end that one win the money and the other one lose all of his money to him.

If you want to hit the lottery then you need to be super lucky and there are very least chances that you will make it as most of the times you will loose and keep on putting your money into it hoping that you will someday in future.

Yes lotteries are definitely considered gambling in my opinion. its just that with lotteries, your chances of winning are much much smaller than what you would usually see at casinos. meaning the payouts are usually much higher.
Yes, it's just gambling with high payouts and less high risks. I think lottery is one of the most addictive forms of gambling since when you don't win for a certain number of times you become optimistic and believe that you will win surely next time, while if you win in your first few attempts you will obviously get badly addicted.

Yes put money in the lottery also includes gambling in my opinion. Because it's a game that requires bookmakers to play, and it included a raffle fate. The victory of the lottery depends on luck everyone. So I think that includes gambling.

Well as long as you are aiming to win and there is money involve like betting then surely that is gambling regardless the amount that you are going to allocate to lottery. And as long as there is a winner and there is a loser with money involved then that is considered as gambling. So if you don't want to gamble then don't bet in lottery.

Yeah I think the answer is obvious and we all know what the definition of gambling is. Lottery I think is one of those harmless types of gambling because the amount you're betting mostly is not that high but the prize is huge, It requires though all the luck in the world for you to win because the chances also in winning is very low

lottery is one of the gambling games, whether it can be addictive or not it's depend on yourself, addictive to gambling is bad but addictive to lottery is worse because winning chance for lottery is really really small, and it is all depend on your luck, so you need to buy more ticket to increase your chance, so for sure you have a high risk of losing your money

Because, lotteries are purely luck based and what is the difference from other gambling types. When you are blindly risking your money only with the support of your luck you can call anything as gambling. Lotteries are one of that kind.

yes its true, while we spend most of our money to expect that our number to be winner, there is small chance for us to win the games because we risk almost all of our money to buy lottery so better not to play lottery than any other gambling games if we don't want to loss our money.

Buying lottery is also consider gambling as you are using the money to buy a chance of getting a bigger return. And gamble is usually associate with negative returns and lottery in fact has one of the highest house edge so you will tend to lose more than you win.

Lottery is gambling too since its involved risking money even in the smallest one and we need luck too to win this kind of gambling. It likes we bet on dice gambling sites at higher payout like 9900x or so! The chance to win it very small but when you hit it you are rich!

That is the attractive of lottery. It is to attract people by it huge payout while you only need to risk very little. The odd is ridiculous low so you dont expect much from it and even if you lose you wont feel the pain. That is why some people love lottery a lot.

thats why many people played and trying their luck its a one hit big time deal, if you win you will be rich right away if you lose
you will keep on buying tickets not realizing that you are already spending too much money from it, and that's why it is also
consider gambling because of risking our money to bet for it.
The problem with this type of lottery is that, even though they are fair, suppose you are playing with 100 numbers and hence your chances of winning is 1% and payout would be 99x ( keeping 1% for house ) now suppose you loose 20 times, you will get frustrated and gamble higher while your chances are yet 1% only.

Even if you buy a lot of tickets you still just gamble with a higher probability. The result (who wins) is contingent and unpredictable. So how can this not be gambling? And, yes, I think you'll (or already are in a way) get addicted to it. So I strongly recommend you not to start. I remember reading once that a chance of winning a lottery is lower than the chance you won't be killed by something while going to buy tickets.

Here in my country there are a lot of types of lottery and most of the people are loving the so called Keno lottery.

Because the result of that lottery will just come out for the few minutes and yes are gambling and wants fast results of the game.

So that when they lose, they will bet again with that lottery.

Actually gambling is the core of gambling and its the oldest form of gambling, I can still remember when I was a kid around 10 years old there was a lottery my relatives used to participate in.
They all the time used to do so and hence I think gambling or matka is the oldest form of gambling.

putting money in lottery with buying lottery tickets is wasteful, that's what that is :)

i even go as far as saying you are better off playing dice games on a provably fair site. because you have control over everything and you can change the chance of winning, you can increase the multiplier to mimic the situation with lotteries or decrease it to have a better chance. and do it all in a provably fair place where you can check if it was your luck or not.

Puttin money in a lottey is most risked gambling than other kinds of gambling like in casinos or in sports betting.Because there are so many buyers of lottery tickets and just selected ones win it,and i dont believe in it if any one wins specially i dont because i dont consider myself that much lucky.

But in gambling one thing is sure and that is that one of the members of the lottery will surely win the collected money so it depends on the luck of the people who are collected in a lottery and that person who will be with a high luck will earn the lottery.

Yes, actually parlay bets are much much better than lottery since we can determine using our knowledge that which team would win, while lottery is pure luck, yes and we cannot actually hope of winning while with sports as soon as each sports gets settled we get nearer and nearer.

Really a good experience, but I guess lottery are more bigger as you can win hundred of millions in lottery.

Lottery really have a very big jackpot price and you are a damn very lucky person if you win that even just once in your lifetime because as what they are saying: you have more chances of getting hit by a lightning than a chance of winning a lottery. Sports betting has more chance of winning but not as big as lottery winnings - I would rather go for sports betting than lottery though!

Yes I agree that sports betting has a higher percentage of winning and you can always win as long as your familiar with the team in sports.. I believe there's a higher price in bets that can be offered abd not as high as in lottery. Like here in country lottery can offer as high 100 million in our currency.

There is nothing to say contrary in this regard because putting money in lottery is also gambling. I will go one step further by saying anything where you put your money at stake whether it is small amount or less and you purposes to win more that is purely gambling. Lottery is for sure gambling when you buy any lottery ticket you spend money in case of not winning you simply loose money and there is nothing to get back in return. This is gambling too where you win or loose in the end as there no middle state. Lottery works same then why it can be different than gambling.

Very!! Because is a hard game to win, you can only win on it if you are extremely lucky and one win could make you stop gambling for good as the money you can earn will be good to live a comfortable life and even if you will not work anymore you can still live.

Basically that is the reason of the gamblers in lottery..

As what others said, we will be having more chances of getting hit by a lightning than winning on lottery. When the person wins in lottery, he/she is really very lucky person here on earth. I know a friend who has another friend that wins twice in lottery - that guy was really a very lucky guy! Although that guy is already broke now and all of his properties name after his relatives and friends are not returned to him - very sad.

Putting money in lottery is gambling too. Lottery has become so accepted in the society that people starts to become confused if it falls under the gambling category. You put money in lottery, you risk your money and then you hope that you hit the jackpot. It's not like you "buy" the lottery ticket. You're actually betting on a group of numbers.

Honestly, lottery is the worst form of gambling. It's very unlikely that you'll ever win. It's so hard to get your ROI since the chance of you winning in lottery is far from the chance of winning in other forms of gambling. On the bright side, that makes it have a much higher profit on win.

Most lottery tickets don't cost much and you can't chase you losses like slots, dice, cards etc.

Yes, but the chances to win aren't that good... On Dice we can make fast profit or fast loss (probably a fast profit, you just start losing if you are very unlucky), lottery tickets can give us a low loss (because the ticket is cheap) and a very very low probability to earn BIG!

I still prefer Dice game than lottery...

Exactly, lottery tickets don't cost a lot of money and each ticket gives you a chance of winning it big.
The chances of winning big are long but it would probably be harder to win a million on dice starting with the same amount as a lotto ticket cost (about  $5)

What a ridiculous question, lottery is the more gambling then poker. In poker at least you have some cards and you know what can happen generally, in lotteries especially big ones what are the chances for someone to win? I just opened freebitco.in they have lottery and I remember they have this calculator that tells how much chances you have with your amount of tickets, I have 6 tickets, and until now  40,384,705 tickets are available ( until sunday there will be more then double that much probably ), and with my 6 tickets in this moment I have 0.00014857 % to take first place. Well that is a too low chance for my taste, I like when I have much more chances to win, this is not even a chance, you will fail and that is that.

Lottery too is a form of gambling, but with lottery people won't be risking higher amounts similar to that in sports and other forms of gambling. Several countries too have got legalized lottery tickets released by governments. The winner will be given the winning amount after deducting tax for the particular amount.

Yes, it is gambling. You plays lottery because ypu are hoping to earn money which is depended pn your luck. Besides, you also want to multiply your money into a hundred of time. And you do not need knowledge to be able to gamble

yes, putting money in lottery is gambling too. I think the lottery is a kind of gambling,
because there we put up the money to benefit from it too.
To me, whatever the type, put up the money to get more profit is gambling.

It might not seem to be a lot of money but adding up all of those lottery tickets that they have bought since day 1 will be a huge amount of money. People do not realize it but the majority of them are already addicted in lottery. The chance of you winning in lottery is very little. It might be something to watch out for every single day and something to talk about every now and then but I don't think it's worth wasting a couple of dollars each day.

Put money on risk is gambling so anything where we take risk to get profit is nothing more than gambling, lottery has more big reward but winners are very few there than we can say this without doubt it's form a gambling and chance of winning is very rare.

Its  already considered as   gambling  because  you risk  your  money  to earn  money. 1000  lottery  tickets  wont still guarantee you  to win  because   we  know  on  lottery  its really hard   to win  we just say 1 in a  million chance for sure. Even though  tickets are  cheap  but   it would  still pile  up and make  huge amount of  money.  Betting  on  lottery  is  indeed  a gambling,

Lottery is for sure gambling when you buy any lottery ticket you spend money in case of not winning you simply loose money and there is nothing to get back in return. This is gambling too where you win or loose in the end as there no middle state. Lottery works same then why it can be different than gambling.

Yes your explanation is so true, Lottery is gambling too, because you buy lottery ticket, if you win, you will get a jackpot, abig money,, and if you lost, you will also lose your money.

Of course, lottery is a form of gambling. I think buying 1000 tickets is already addicted and has urge to win. But it is really hard to win in gambling and that is the fact. If others won, it is not meaning to say that you will win too.

Lottery is a form of gambling which there's a money at stake.. you're trying to win the jackpot with luck. Same with other types of games in gambling you need your luck to win.  :)

Well it's already obvious that lottery is just another form of gambling as by definition itself, lottery is placing a bet and relying on chance and luck for a positive outcome. The outcome though for most people would be disappointment. The number of winners from lottery are very few but hey, with how high the jackpots are, i wouldn't mind placing a bet every now and then

you're right, I also agree with it. I think the lottery is a kind of gambling the most widely played by someone. by buying many tickets and hope the luck that we have so that we win, well, gambling in the casino game is the same as it was, but that is different is the prize. however, it is very difficult to win this game

Yes betting on lottery is gambling too. And one of the worst gambling games, you have very few possibilities to win. With State lottery it seams more legal, but the odds to win are very low. It only depends on luck, there aren't skills to win lottery games.

Wow! 1000 Tickets? You are getting serious in gambling here. I don't think that is a good approach in lottery, you just have to rely on your luck and not to beat their system, for sure you have to understand that our chances in lottery is very slim, hence we need extreme luck to win.

Yeah throwing away 1000 ticket worth of your money is not really advisable dude especially with lottery. Buying tickets in huge quantity is proven to not better your chances of winning. It's really based on luck and entirely luck and i don't think we can do anything on our end to change that.

I would say yes and no.Playing lottery is still gambling ,but it isn`t the same as gambling.

You can`t make a strategy and you can`t analyze your game.

You just buy tickets and wait.

That is true we can't make any strategy for lottery because it is only depend on our luck, we have to buy the ticket and cross the finger wish for the luck there, lottery is very different form of gambling where we have no time frame when luck will be on our side.

I'd rather use only those free tickets offered by the websites. All games that involves money where in you will either win or lose is a gambling. So buy only tickets if you can afford the losses. Even you buy more and more tickets, it is not meaning to say that you will hit the jackpot. Let's say you may win but for me the lose is bigger.

Don't even always hope for free tickets in the lotteries and it is better if the money you earned hard will be use for buying lottery tickets. And you are right with it, as long as there is money associated and chances of winning or losing that is already considered as gambling. No matter how much you would as long as you play lottery.

Indeed, gambling has something bad, so it is entirely reasonable they get losses or loss of money. because gambling is not something which only discuss about the advantages, but gambling will also discuss about the loss. both of these things have always existed in gambling. So if they can't trust both of these things well then only the big losses that will always get him.

Anything where you face loss or profit at the end is gambling so in lottery tickets you reach at one of two situations getting profit or remaining without money with what you bought those tickets. It should be seen as taking risk which applies in lottery though I consider it gambling too and it is fact whether someone do agree or not.

Absolutely right, 1000  tickets  wont  really  matter though  even  10,000 tickets  if youre  unlucky  it would  really be useless. In fact  lottery  is  the  hardest  gambling game  to  win  for  me.  Imagine  millions of  people  or   thousands will bet to get the  jackpot  and   number combinations  are complex which means  chances  of  winning  is soo  small and  you will need  much  luck  to   get  the jackpot prize.

Lottery is one kind of gambling, and its the same if its from a private company or from state lottery. Isn't an addiction problem if you buy a ticket every week, lots of people plays every week one ticket to states lottery (its an small price for a big prize), but it can be a problem if you buy lots of tickets every week.

It is definitely gambling so far its putting money to expect it to have multiplying effect with the implied risk of even losing what is being put in then its gambling. Lottery to me is actually not really dependent on the number of tickets put in as you have rightly noted that people with higher tickets lost compared to someone with lower tickets its just a way of increasing the chances of being picked as the jackpot winner thats all.

as far as i know, playing lottery is one of the gambling game but we sometime we do not realize it because its really fun. we bought for example 1000 lottery for cheap price and hoping that our number is out to be a winner.

if you ask will it be addictive? my answer is yes, if you only want to be a winner on that lottery. be careful, do not be so addictive. loss you money while you want and you can, and in the meantime, if you loss, don't regret it.

I agree that lottery is one of the gambling game, but i don't see any fun in betting in lottery.  Though it is not realized that this is a gambling game because of a small amount used to bet in this game and the huge prize for it.  Though most of he lottery have next to impossible to hit the jackpot, people just keep on betting because of the small amount needed, the cost does not affect them in their daily budgets.

I don't expect to be rich in gambling. It is almost impossible to happen. Here in our country we have a lottery  runs by the government, 0.409 US Dollar per ticket. There is also a different type of lottery. For me, playing it is also for fun like what other gambling.

You can call anything a gambling if you are risking money and you can win or you can lose. So about the lottery yes it is a gambling too because you will risk money and you are expecting to win. It is true that the chance of winning in lottery is very very low but if you will become the lucky winner who will hit the jackpot then you are one of the luckiest person in the world because the prize of jackpot in any state lottery or other lottery online are very Big and you can become instant millionaire.

NO, absolutely no, i don't think that lottery is a gambling. Lottery has a similarity with gambling, but it is not gambling. If we are talking about only lose or win than we get daily lose in business and many time we can make profit from our business. But business is not a gambling, and for me, Lottery is a Only game.

Becoming addicted of lottery is pretty hard to happen because the results are not coming instantly but in a few days or even weeks. You only have to go there, choose your number and play for the jackpot. I've never been addicted to it because it just isn't as fun as casinos are

I agree with  you, Everyone could  post and ask  anytime  that they want as  long  its  not repetitive and  have  been asked  already  in the past  on  this   forum.  Now  OP  would  really get some  good answers here  because  most  people do  say the same thing  on which  betting on lottery  is definitely a gambling.  Seeing the   situation of   OP  when  he tends to  buy 1000+  tickets   but  chances  of winning is still not a guarantee.

Yup, it's totally gambling and can be as addictive as any other form of gambling.   I'm sure you've seen these poor saps in the gas stations scratching off their lottery tickets.   Well it's even worse online and you can lose all your bitcoin a lot quicker.  Have fun but be very careful.
yes that is right to say that lottery is also a form of gambling which totally depending of luck and there is no use of skill or experience, and that is also a fact that once if you become addicted of lottery gambling you will find it hard to stop it,

Becoming addicted of lottery is pretty hard to happen because the results are not coming instantly but in a few days or even weeks. You only have to go there, choose your number and play for the jackpot. I've never been addicted to it because it just isn't as fun as casinos are
I do  know   some people  who is  addicted  on  playing  or   betting  on these  lottery  which  mostly  are those  people  who  have average   financial status which they   are  hoping to   bet  on  lottery   to be a  millionaire  one  day  but as  we all know the  chance  on winning  this  kind of game  is  very very very small thats why  most people would  surely comeback and  continue   to  buy  tickets  .

I think not all lottery included into gambling, so there is a lottery that included gambling and there is also a lottery is not gambling. Examples include gambling lottery, as we bought a coupon to get a prize. While the examples are lottery not gambling, as we buy a drink and get a coupon that can be a gift if lucky.

So if such examples are included in the lottery gambling is the same as the bet because we deliberately spend some money to buy coupons (usually each number has a different price) with the aim to get the prize. Unlike the lottery that is not included into gambling, we do not buy the coupon because we get a coupon to buy stuff so get coupons. The point though both are the same with a lottery, but the way that makes it included gambling or not.

Guys please tell me that lottery is second form of gambling or not?

yes definitely it is just another type of gambling because in lottery you are buying a ticket and sometimes not just one or two but up to ten or even 1000 tickets as you've said in that way you are risking your money as well it is like what you are doing in other form of gambling such as poker, dice etc. and you it seems you only have a small chance in lottery unless you really have so many tickets .

Gambling has very simple definition where money involve and we have risk to lose it than no doubt it is just a gambling, that is why I'm pretty sure lottery is form of gambling where we lost our money same like playing on casino games, for some people putting money is very attractive and it can be addictive.

any form of gambling is very addictive , and I agree with you lottery can be very addictive as well because you can have a chances to win from it through buying tickets especially if you have bought a lot of number of ticket you have a potential to win the lottery and just like in other form of gambling you will be addicted just because you are still expecting that you could win at the next round or sometime soon ;D

It does not matter the format as long as you are putting money and risking it in something you have no way to know the outcome you are in a way gambling.

Yes, the outcome is completely decided by luck. Basically all the gambling types must have originated from lottery system in my opinion as it would be the easiest form of gambling for a group of people. Also lottery system must be the oldest form of gambling unfortunately we are having it even gambling houses were completely banned in my country.

As long as money is involve, it is called gambling. I mean, as long as you get money from your money as a bet. Yes, gambling is very highly additive, specially when you win big one time. It would be hard for you to quit gambling because you are hoping that you can win again but the truth is you will just gonna lose more bitcoin because the house always win like the usual.

Yes it is gambling too, not because others are winning because they have enough lottery tickets doesn't mean you are going to win also if you are going to buy enough lottery tickets. In gambling there is a big chance of losing than winning and you must be aware of that. Gambling is a very addictive once you completely turned yourself on it and when you see gambling the only way to grow your bitcoin which is wrong. There are lots of way to grow your bitcoin safely like Investing it, and do some trading yes it has some risk also but not as big like Gambling.

Sure, to me it is gambling.
if there is money and a unknown result, it is gamble. the only diference is the chance of winning..

lotery have a small chance and big jackpot.

Lottery is also another kind of gambling. You have put your money into risk in order to grow it. Thats like your trying to  hit a jackpot or highest/lowest number in dice.

Makes no diference lotery of bitcoin as the real lotery systems, people keep gambling at lotery even with the soo many financial problems showing up.

That's individuals decision and they have the freedom to spend their money, I know lottery does not really make you lose big because you just have to bet a small amount of money hoping you can win the jackpot which normally millions. Even if you have problem, you still have the right to enjoy.

A lot people bought a bunch of lottery tickets in the hope they can win it easily or at least has more chances to win. Putting money in lottery is like gambling at 9900x payout on dice game. Sometimes we can hit it with a little effort but most of the time we will hit it after a very very long try. Its for sure putting money in lottery is a part of gambling too!

i believe putting money in lottery is even worse than gambling with 9900x specially when you do it online on some of these lottery sites. because when you play dice you always have the option to check the provably fair system by checking the hashes but in lottery you never know if the winner was picked randomly for real or did the site inject so many of their own fake numbers to win!

Though its a gambling or a lottery. Both of them are similar concept.  In gambling,  you are wagering and playing on different games like online slot machines, Minesweeper game,  roulette ,etc. If you are lucky,  you win some amount.

In lottery , you are wagering on random numbers . If they come up and your bought tickets won. You get the specified amount given on lottery tickets.

Both of them are forms of gambling because there's no assurance of winning. I know a lot of people who have been buying lottery tickets for years now, but haven't won anything yet. The chance in winning at these lotteries are even smaller if you think about the numerous combinations which add to the odds stacked against you.

I just buy lottery tickets when I have an extra money only, sometimes I place my numbers with my instinct. Winning in this kind of game depends on luck like dice games, I don't expect to win. I just pray and let miracle happen, yeah it sounds weird.  ;D If it is really meant for you then you'll have it.

Lottery is the worst kinda gambling because the chances of win is very little, I mean, statisticaly it's the worst percentage.. Always when you're about to buy a significant aount or cash there's no "skill" involvded, there's a lot or player so the chances are even low. So, in resume, lottery is the worst gambling type of all kinda games.

Lottery is one kind of gambling, and its the same if its from a private company or from state lottery. Isn't an addiction problem if you buy a ticket every week, lots of people plays every week one ticket to states lottery (its an small price for a big prize), but it can be a problem if you buy lots of tickets every week.

Exactly, even if you do put some penny every week when combined those it is still a big profit for the house. So in the end you end up losing instead of gaining and that does usually happens to gambling(lottery)

Playing and placing bets is all ready considered as gambling if you are playing in lottery you're involving money there and buying it and even it's free it's already a gambling. And if you win you can get more money because they gonna prize is money too and gambling is just a gambling.

agree with you mate. playing lottery can really lose us big especially when we buy bunch of tickets thinking that more tickets means more chances to win. Well, this maybe true but let us be realistic to the fact that lottery has more number combinations than any gambling games out there - you need to buy hundreds or even thousands of combinations before you can really hit the jackpot. You can do that but your bet is much way bigger than your jackpot winning.

most of gambling games depend on luck and there will be very little number of gambling games in which experience and skill matter, for example in sports games we can use our previous experience and skill can help us in gambling. in case of lottery it depend totally on luck experience and skill cannot help you in lottery gambling.

And that is one of the best gambling as long as you can afford the amount you are buying for tickets for lottery then that's fine. And as long as you are putting any amount of money into risk for a chance of winning some money, making it doubled, tripled or even higher. Then that is already consider that you are gambling with your own money.

the amount of money in buying a lottery ticket is not an issue in my opinion. i think even if it was super cheap it wouldn't have been a good idea to put money in lottery! and it is always a gamble.

the difference is that people don't usually see or think about the odds, it is like playing a dice game with a very big multiplier like 9999X becasue the chances are that slim and it is slimmer the more people join in.

Its a gambling still, anything that connects betting and risking money is a gambling. Chances of winning is as small as ants. There is no even guatantee that in 6 nos youll be able atleast to get one. Youll be that lucky enough when your number got a chance to be pick atleast two out of six numbers. Try to invest or do trading it is more reliable and profitable.

if i had to choose the top worst ways of spending money then buying a lottery ticket would have been in the top three for sure.

and i actually have the experience with buying lottery tickets and wasting my money on them, and as you have guessed i never have won anything in my life in any kind of lottery game ever. it is always either my bad luck or the fakeness of the lottery system!

Yes, it is still gambling since you make a bet and expecting to win. Though it has a very slim or probability to win,you are spending your money and also, it is addicting. Also if you are betting daily,it will also become a vices.

Yes, actually I could not understand what makes OP not to consider lottery as a gambling as lottery has all the characteristics of typical gambling. I did read lottery must be the one of oldest gambling of human race, still many countries legalized it and themselves running a lottery system even they are not allowing other gambling types.

I myself are really doubtful about this type of game. Even if that certain government supports that lottery company i still doubt its fairness. But people use to just take chances instead of saving those and consider as an investment that would surely grow someday.

That is true, I also never heard and see anyone who win a lot of amount from lottery tickets. In fact many fake lottery tickets systems are here, and i saw many people buy it, and in the end of the result, they have been wasted their money.
But about the OP, actually, if we become greedy for winning amount in lottery, than definitely we will buy it and same situation is here in gambling, when we become greedy than we play gambling, so in this point both are same.

Lotery system has been made to give profit just to the owner of the rights, even paying a tax the person behind those will always win, and thats not some cents. I dont agree with euromilions gamble way, because shouldnt be possible to repeat a key, this makes harder to get a real winner, we do see some people making the same bets like 200-400 people. It would be more fair if were only possible to regist one key, and not allow to repeat the numbers.

Lottery games are just a waste and I get free tickets by some websites for just participating in events. It's like if I win, it's good and even if I don't win, it's good.

I don't like that people spend so much money on these games and some websites aren't even trusted enough to choose a fair winner. It's never an investment as the game gets over, the ticket is useless.

Well in online i do not trust them but in local lottery it gives me win sometimes not always but i win maybe 5 or 6 times but i always betting daily and trying my luck to hit the jackpot prize to be millionaire someday.. but here in online i do not know if they are saying true or not or if they are giving provably fair.. and i think it is just like we are just donating our money for nothing.

Lottery is have a probability to fraud/scam, its very susceptible. if we see, the cost of lottery ticket is more than expected profit.
According to wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lottery
The probability profit is very widely, which every game lottery mode have a variant prize, the game also can be manipulate, since nowadays people became clever person if they have a plan to scam people for illicit money.
This advice can help to avoid lottery scam: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lottery_scam

Ofcourse it is also a type of gambling . But it is small different from gambling because in this type of gambling in the beginning the chances of winning is very less but of lossing very high .

Sure its gambling what you would say about lotery its just a game? Which you throw money to the jackpot, and play against others trying to get the main prizes.
Lottery can in fact make you lose big, if you buy hundreds of lottery tickets, that is not really that different than putting hundreds of bets on the roulette, slots or blackjack.

agree with you mate. playing lottery can really lose us big especially when we buy bunch of tickets thinking that more tickets means more chances to win. Well, this maybe true but let us be realistic to the fact that lottery has more number combinations than any gambling games out there - you need to buy hundreds or even thousands of combinations before you can really hit the jackpot. You can do that but your bet is much way bigger than your jackpot winning.
I know only one person who did manage to win a car with his lottery ticket and he used to invest 30% of his earnings before that every month in buying these tickets. It's a waste of money as even if you buy 90% of those tickets, there are still less chances of winning the jackpot. Raffles, lottery is only worth when there is more than one winner.

An it is even worst than that since lotteries are not charities if a ticket cost lets say a 10 dollars and 100k people buy tickets you may expect the total prizes to sum 1 million but in fact is going to be a lot less since they are doing the lottery to win money.

Lottery is also playing with luck and that is no control you have in the result. All you can do is that pray that the number you buy will come out. In my opinion i will call this gambling cause you gamble with your luck and not using your skill to improve on your chance of earning more money.

In lottery no skills no strategies no knowledge will work out. Only the luck will make you rich person in a single day. But you have to wait for that lucky day. And yes I agree that putting money in a lottery is gambling. Where ever we put our money in a risk to make a profit it's called gambling. So buying lottery also Gambling. But to win your lottery, you need luck.

but there are free lotteries you can join too  ;D

sports betting can escalate to worst gambling of all
it gives a sense of a skill , that is bad when you feel very safe
in your gambling options, sell a house for your favorite team!

good day all , have luck and some control @ your gambling adventures my wish.

Yes there are more lose because you will definitely waste off thousands of tickets on this kind of game  because chances of winning is soo slim which i really dont tend to buy lottery tickets on the first place because i dont see any chances that i won and instead of buying those tickets i will just  save it  for future. PUtting money into lottery is definitely a gambling.

More entries more chances of winning. Its just like testing if it is really for you then it will be yours no matter what . Lottery is a gambling too any game or activity that involves betting or choosing that involves any big or small amount of money us a gambling. It just on the for of how addicting the game or bets can be that it makes gambling bad.

I have used freebitcoin and they do pay out users without any problems. I have not won any lottery from them. I have heard people winning. Purchasing lottery tickets is a gamble and you may or may not get addicted. So, be careful when you do that. Buying tickets doesn't guarantee anything, so try out the lo hi game.

Yes lottery gives you a very slim chance to win. And if you still play lottery in the long run definitely you will lose a lot of money.. better try other types of gambling like sports betting, chances of winning is higher though the wage is low compared to lottery.

Yes, we are risking your money with lottery and to win a lottery we are highly depend on our luck alone.
These are enough aspects to call lottery a gambling. But I believe there will not be any entertainment is possible with lottery system, so it must be a pure gambling or a variation of gambling.

People make projects if they were able to win the jackpot or earn a good ammount at loterys, thats what makes and keep people gambling, as my family said to me its just 2 euros to play euromilion, and the potencial reward does worth the risk. For a while i shared those but after bet over 3 months and win low prizes, and keeping gamble i achieved that i had spended over 100 -200 euros and i were able to recover something like 30 euro soo i stoped, its better invest those money into something i can use as tennis, food, clothes.

It's nice you were able to analyze it because you track your record in lottery, you are right, though it's just a small amount of money but when it will accumulate it will be bigger than you could imagine. For me, I do not bet in lottery anymore not because I do not want to lose but because there's no fun in lottery.

Exactly, lottery operators are making a lot of money from dumb people like us. We are betting with low chances of winning because our hopes are so big that what if one day we might hit millions. It's fun if you will not play it regularly as it will not make you lose big amount.

Yeah, if seen in terms of negative indeed most people do gambling will definitely always get the defeat and only a small profit. But it was all a mistake is not something wrong, because it is the players. Because I saw and experienced for myself that everytime I do gambling in the wrong way will definitely get it on an ongoing basis

Lottery is the most famous way of gambling but also it is the worst way of gambling at the same time because of the tiny chance of winning it has. you pay a moderate amount to have a very tiny chance of winning a rather big profit.

i say it is never worth it because of the rare chance of winning.

Wow you are going to waste money in lottery but you can get your money back with 10x when you win but this needs more luck :P when you are dealing with number and if you can afford to buy lottery tickets then buy it. It's actually gambling but good luck you will not going to addictive on that because in the end you will be lazy to bet in lottery.

yeah i don't think it's worth buying that many tickets as it would totally be a waste. lottery for me is destiny. if you're destined to win the jackpot, it doesn't matter whether you have one or several tickets. if it's yours, then it's yours. better to just buy a couple and then hope that you win instead of believing that the more tickets you buy would give you a better chance of winning because it won't.

Lottery is a really a popular gambing game, in which there is 0% involvement of skill and experience, but I think in lottery there is always a very little amount of money to be invest and the  price is always a big one, so although there are very little chance of winning in lottery gambling but If you got the chance you can really make a good profit with a very very little investment.

C'mon people. Lottery is the biggest gambling ever

Lottery is the most famous way of gambling but also it is the worst way of gambling at the same time because of the tiny chance of winning it has. you pay a moderate amount to have a very tiny chance of winning a rather big profit.

i say it is never worth it because of the rare chance of winning.

Well, i have different opinion about lottery. Actually, i am not agree on it, that lottery is a part of gambling. I can say that lottery is a game but it is not gambling game. Both are different games, but both have similarity so that's why people consider that lottery is a part of gambling. But in my thinking, it is not a part of gambling, because lottery is lottery and gambling is gambling.

Technically you're wrong. Gambling by definition means risking something and if you were lucky, you would get a prize. You're right both have similarity but lottery has no difference with all the other gambling games out there. You legit have no explanation or anything why would you consider lottery as just a game and not a gambling game. You must be a part of that majority of people that think of lottery as a normal thing and is socially accepted but all the other games like poker are 'gambling games' that makes you addicted and lose all your money.

Gambling depends on luck only.If luck is with you, you will win or if not then you will lose.No skills are needed, I think lottery ticket is similar of gambling. In this, you need luck as well. It's a type of gambling. There's no guarantee that you will win or lose, it will depend on your luck.

And with this game of lottery this is the hardest type of gambling game to defeat the house and how can you predict that you can be a big winner. And also an addition that betting in lottery is surely a way of gambling too because you are wagering your money. I don't gamble with this game, because I lose hope for betting with this long time ago.

Playing at the local lottery is also considered as gambling, but just a low risk one.
You bet small to win big, which is still a bet.
Lottery is the most safest bet as you can not lose a lot, a ticket costs less then 3$ so if you risk and lose that, thats not a big problem.

The chance to win the lottery is very small and the fact that someone could buy more than one tickets should also take into our consideration. Even with small amount of money but if we did it very often, it can cost us a huge amount of money.

Yeah, of course it is. However I am not sure why you would even attempt to take that gamble. I mean, if you are legit about your gambling then you should always go to a casino and play blackjack - thats the best odds.

THe house edge on lottery tickets are consistently 50% or more. Not the best deal.

Nah, I don't agree with you.

Some people want to feel the dream about buying a lottery ticket for 2$ and become a billionaire.
I think that lottery is the best gamble as you don't need to risk a large amount of money in order to have a big amount in return.
It also doesn't involve a lot of risk to your funds.

I do not think so. There are still many people who spent lots of money on the lottery. They believe that they can win the super jackpot from it. In my local area, I know a man who buys more that 40 lottery tickets per day. And now he has to sell his house in order to have money to live

I don't think so, others might just win the lottery by having 120 tickets or more but it doesn't mean that if you also have some tickets that you are sure that you can win this lottery thingy doesn't mean you were right. Most of the time, being envious to others will just put you in the situation that you never thought that can happen, just like for example is you wanted to buy enough tickets because you think that if you have some, you are going to win the lottery but in the end you have just lost, then you will be just disappointed and start to think how to win it back in time and that is the start of your addiction in gambling.

Anything you do that includes a chance of winning money, is gambling, or just taking a risk for a desired result is gambling. Betting in lottery in our country is for charity called PCSO. So in someway, when you bet in a lottery, it's also considered a donation. It's two birds with one stone (when you win the lottery while donating at the same time)

As long as we are wagering money, that's considered as gambling and that's a good purpose that betting for lottery has something to be funded for charity. But I'm thinking how about if there is a winner that needs to be paid by that charity or he takes all the funds with his win, is there something that is still going to be allocated or shared to the charity.

No question about that, anything that involves money to make money is a form of gambling, even in investment we can call that as gambling due to the fact that we do not know the outcome of the our investment. We are gambling in the sense that we rely on our skills and knowledge to predict the outcome of investment. There's no assurance we will succeed but the risk can be measured in different level.

Yes it is, of course, obviously. Lottery is gambling too, how much money do you spend to buy around 1000 tickets? Well, it depends on your luck to win the lottery due to many people involved and buy a lot of tickets. It will be addicted if you keep chasing to win it instead you just get losses.

Putting money in lottery is already a gambled thing, You are just buying ticket even if it's free the prize pool is still big how much money actually do you spend for each tickets? Calculate it and know how much you lose every time you are making a bet predicting numbers are too difficult.

I think the lottery is also included in gambling because we have to buy a lottery to get a lot of bitcoin. although not all buy because we could get a ticket by way of claim. that's the only distinguishing bit of a lottery and gambling. but I think the lottery including gambling

Lottery is just another kind of gambling type.. Worth or not its depends on yours personal calculation based on yours time+revenue.

And yes it can be addictive

(Sorry for self-advertising)

It seem that you have already got your answer. If not, tldr; lottery is a form of gambling since it require luck.

There is some lottery game that do not require you to pay for the tickets too. For example http://bitrevenues.com/ and http://freebitcoinlottery.xyz/. To add on, both sites is provably fair. It can still be consider as a form of gambling since it require luck to win the lottery game but it is free - so why not give it a go.

As the owner of the network, I sometime see people with 2 tickets win the lottery while others with more than 20 tickets never win. It is a game of luck.

Agree lottery is also gambling . Though it is really difficult to win on that game because of the numbers but if you are lucky day then you could be millioner instant in a day. But over the time if you just compute how much you bet per day then if you won on that day i think it is equal to your bets all over the time. But its because you didnt notice you bet small on that day and so on over a years so if you calculate it it is something the same value

Lottery is really a fun game and it's hard to be addicted in that due to the low changes of winning. People are just playing it with a small amount of money and hoping that their luck will happen to win millions if possible. I do play that and I understand it's gambling but I do not expect that would be easy to win.

It's easy to understand that although it does not affect us hard financially since the amount we have to pay is just a small amount but there's a chance to win big. Actually, I played lottery and it's better than a regular gambling games where 50/50 chances is given because in lottery you cannot be addicted as even you lose you can accept easy since you understand the chances you have.

Well, you only think that because you don't realize that you're already addicted in lottery. You just have to buy a lottery ticket every single day, and that takes ~24 hours before you can "place" a bet again.

People bet on lottery every day, but still think that it's not significant enough to damage their monthly budget. In the long run, when you compute all of the money that you've spent buying lottery tickets, you'll realize how much money you should've saved instead.

There are posts online that says the chance of you getting killed while you're on your way to buy lottery tickets is even higher than the chance of you winning the lottery.

Yeah, it is a kind of gambling, as you said we use small amount and most of the chances to win a big amount, also i am sure it is kind of gambling.
But i am not agree with your second point, i think gambling games is more better than lottery. Because when we start to bet than we have no patience to wait the result, in lottery we need wait and in gambling within minutes, we know the result our winning or lose.

Easy as that you can get the results mate for sure if you are relying with your luck chances of losing is much bigger unlike with lottery its just a little amount of your money and its purely luck that at stake not really hurt your daily money.

Lottery is not different than gambling because you loose money in this much more than normal gambling games. Your chances are extremely low to be able to win in lottery. But still people are putting money in lotteries in hope of hitting jackpots someday. As far as I am concerned I put them in same place as gambling.

That's a good find mate.. I agree that lottery is a type of gambling which there's a money or valuable at stake and the chances of winning is very low than any other gambling games. But once you hit the jackpot you'll be an instant millionaire so that's why many people chose to bet in lottery because of its jackpot price.

Obviously! You bet for a bigger prize. Its like you invest for something, that you know what you might get, but the difference is your investment is lower and the success rate of that investment is not close to 1 percent. As long as you put something at stake; money or not money, and you know something good or earn from it, it is considered gambling. We know many things that we didn't know are considered as gambling.

Also to it that this is the most difficult game for me, because this is totally basing 100% to the luck of their players. There is no certain way and strategy to know on how you are going to win and beat this game. But if you are very lucky enough and your numbers are picked, be happy man for you are an instant rich person.

Of course, that is why so many people want to play lottery even though it has one of the highest house edge. The stories of many people becoming millionaires do sure attract a lot of people to dream. However, the expected duration to win lottery one time is about 9 lives. So basically, you have to live for 9 different lives and bet everytime in lottery from age 0 to old, you are expected to win around 1 time only.

I dont know where you get such idea regarding on 9 lives. I dont believe that there are duration on winning lottery since its all really random and it would really depend on your extreme luck you will need to win it. Odds are really big and the chances of winning is soo slim thats why i dont like to dream to win it and i dont have any intentions to buy lottery tickets at all.
