Title: invest only in bitcoin?
Post by: enovhero on June 09, 2017, 01:56:09 PM
Hello,

A question of a beginner, I read several articles that say better invest in bitcoin only (most of articles are from 2015-2016), but as bitcoin exceeds now $2500, I do not know if this rule still holds.

I want to invest a lot of money (let's say $3000), but I do not know if I have to invest only in bitcoin or other alcoins? What do you recommend?

Thank you

If you plan for a long term investment, then Invest your money on Ethereum and Waves, both platform are used by many tokens and assets. It's getting popular now.
But you want to be a daily trader, I can't recommend it. You can explore the altcoins thread and analyze what coin is good for daily speculate.

I agree, for long term investment you can invest on Ethereum and Waves but I would suggest to divide your money. Half would be for bitcoin trading and half would be for altcoin trading. As you can see the price of bitcoin is increasing almost every week for the past few months. And I'm not a fan of daily trading 'cause most of my coins are for long term, do a research and check at coinmarket which coins are mostly active for daily trading.

You think bitcoin will still grow with time? I don't think that bitcoin can exceed $5000
For example I'll invest $1500 in bitcoin (0.75 BTC) and other amount in other coins. Is that good idea?

With the current price of bitcoin over at $2800 it looks like you are able to purchase a single coin which i think is not a very huge investment,i am not under mining the price but it is not worth to purchase bitcoin with a low amount of bank roll when your ultimatum i guess is to make some good profit.Just diversify your investment in some good alt coins or ICO.

I remember a few years back people saying BTC will be worth $10 000 one day. Nowadays this looks more than possible, and I'm wondering if the other ridiculous sounding prediction from current days will come true. That is that BTC will be worth $1 million per 1 BTC one day, and I think at some point I'll invest in a few BTC just to HODL and see what happens. One or two maybe, you don't need much more if they're worth a million :D

Diversity is key. I try to keep it at an even 25% hold, 75% trade in altcoins.

I enjoy making money on alts when trades work, but trades can always fail also.

Good luck to whatever you decide to do!

I'm long on Waves, ETH, ZEC and ETC. In my opinion ETC will grow significantly this summer.

I think one of the biggest pieces of advice I have received, seen on multiple threads, and all is to "do your own research." A lot of people on the internet just make exactly what the section entails, `speculation.` No one is for sure what the price of Bitcoin (or any Alt) will be tomorrow, next week, next month, nor next year(s). That being said, take `advice` with a grain of salt. Read up entirely on the coins before you invest and find something you enjoy, believe in, think will become a big deal.

Another select piece of advice that might help you, that I believe may be posted above is definitely don't put all your eggs in one basket. If you really believe, trust, whatever, in one coin -- put a good portion/percentage into that. Otherwise I would split it up.

Finally, invest only with money you're willing to lose. I believe you used the number `$3000` -- if you aren't comfortable with the possibility of losing it (I don't think you will if you invest in something `smart`) then I would also just advise not getting involved.

---

Now for some of my speculation, and I'm not advising you to invest if not interested (follow my first piece of advice), take a look at Ethereum, Stratis just dropped a bunch :'( (good time to invest?), Waves, SiaCoin. I think that's a good start for you, and best of luck!

---

I'm long on Waves, ETH, ZEC and ETC. In my opinion ETC will grow significantly this summer.

Based on what? What does ETC have/do that ETH isn't/won't?

this question can be asked the other way round as well. why buy eth when there is 'almost' the same blockchain 15 times cheaper?

Investing on bitcoin is a wise choice. But spread your investments on other alt coins too. Do your own research, search for coins that are going to prevail in the future. Invest on those coins. Spreading out your investment, lowers the risk of suffering huge loss. :)

Well you should check the portfolio of some of the biggest traders so to know what might be good to invest in. Most of the experienced guys are investing mainly in:

-BTC
-ETH
-ZEC
-ETC
-DCR
-XMR

Also you can read about new ICOs and see for yourself what might be a good opportunity to invest.

Investing in bitcoin is good also even the price of bitcoin its very high yoi can if you want and yoi can earn money after few months if tou want shorterm. But if you want longterm you can earn a lot money after that. Investing altcoin also is one of the best choice because many altcoins now is fast increasing and for sure you will earn a lot of profit after holding. Jts better to invest and hold your bitcoin and altcoin.

There is good website where to buy bitcoin and altcoins using credit card? I have found changelly, but they took some fees ($15 per $100)
https://changelly.com/
maybe there is better one?

If you want to quickly benefit from your capital, I advise not only to invest in Bitcoin too slowly. Altcoin may be suitable to increase profits quickly.
DGB, SC, SLR
Maybe it's a good fit to buy.

This. I think Ethereum is just as solid of an investment as Bitcoin is. I've personally been putting both ETH and BTC back for a for a few years in the hope they both end up climbing sky high. However, Bitcoin alone is also a great choice to invest in.

If you invest only in one thing it is always risky, even it is highest volume cryptocoin, bitcoin. You can choose maybe 2 altcoin, and invest like 1k for each like
1000$ BTC
1000$ WAVES
1000$ ETC

I'm not agree to invest only in bitcoin because if you invest only in bitcoin you can earn only bitcoins I suggest to invest in multiple crytocurrencies or altcoins because in the future their coins were increased also their value.

This discriminative thinking already proved us wrong, diversifying of investments is best choice and you have better chances as from standpoint of gain and security. Bitcoin is right now best and biggest, but for how long? Will you are going to miss all other opportunities?

try to invest in other coins too, it is much better that you have a different choice of coin , bitcoin is good for a long term investment it is good also for the future preferences, choose an alternative coin and invest on it, it is one of the short trade that is good to invest.

In my opinion, investing Bitcoin is a good idea. Bitcoin prices are indeed down, but within a few weeks even the next few months bitcoin prices will rise significantly and can reach its peak.

Many big investors are interested in bitcoin. They try to invest bitcoin, this is all done because the business of cryptocurrency is a very promising thing. Profits can be obtained many times over. So bitcoin investment is the best thing for you to do. thank you

Since that time, it has already been a lot of time and events that bitcoin made at the level of 10k, and now your attachments look ridiculous. Of course, if you invested in it then now you can definitely afford to buy any altcoins, but about bitcoin is no longer worth talking about in terms of investments.

Great. bitcoin prices are going down. buy as much as possible. Because in 2018. I think the price will be 20k usd or more. You may try for live trading. Bitcoin live trading is now truly profitable! Like if you buy in 8k usd then you may sell in 8.5K USD, if you buy in 7k usd then you can sell them for 8k USD after few days! Look at the market trend, you will get your answer. Good luck

You can bet your 45% of money on Bitcoin and divide the other percentage on other coins you will find that is promising,,,, look into other coins that interest you and want to keep them, you can look on the market for the top coins if you want to look for coins that are currently used and bought by many.

for today, investments in Bitcoin are risky enough and I would suggest investing in this coin only those funds that you do not mind losing. All other investments should be directed to more promising and real coins in the future.

No! Definitely this is not a good idea even though BTC rises high in the future because most of the gains are already been made. In don't mean not to invest in BTC instead diversify your money into some lower cap coins which can give you multiple Xs return in the short period of time than BTC.

According to me invest in Bitcoin is a very good option but on the other hand invest in ethereum is a another good option i think. Bitcoin will hit $20k within this year and eth will hit $4-5k last of this year. So you can invest with Bitcoin and ethrereum.

This strategy is still valid. So long as Bitcoin remains the king of cryptos,it is a must-have in all portfolios. After bitcoin, you can diversify into other top coins and ICOs.

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.

The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

They are on exchanges right now, you can check their website: https://ethermeta.com/
Or even better go through their Bitcointalk thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2659058.0

There are many investment opportunities in the cryptocurrency market that you can join if you are really exploring this market. Bitcoin is a great crypto for long-term investment but it will definitely not be profitable for you because it's too expensive. In order to increase your profits, you should learn about the new altcoin to invest in, so be sure to carefully analyze the project before investing to reduce the risk.

It depend on your feelings where you're comportable to invest, you can invest both bitcoin and choose one altcoin have potential to grow in the marketplace, I recommend choose in the top ten altcoins.
But if asking me i got ethereum and bitcoin as my long term investment.

Your advice is very true. There are many potential altcoin, if you buy them you can yield x10 or x 20 times your original capital. Bitcoin is currently not attractive to investors. Their value is quite high and varies considerably. I do not encourage you to choose Bitcoin to invest. Choose other potential Altcoins.

If you want to make 10-100x, you should choose only altcoins. The thing is, know it's like finding a needle in a haystack. But valuable projects do exist. For example ZRX ( a platform to trade E20 tokens on Ethereum blockchain, they skyrocketed quite recently), byteball, spectrecoin. You should google, PM more seasoned forum members and ask questions. The cryptocurrency market is far away from the dotcom bubble, which was about 6 trillion, so, "there is a plenty of room at the bottom"(c).
By the way, right now you can participate  in an ongoing ICO and get 450 000 marinecoins. 8,1B will be distributed for free between first 20 000 members, so catch the train. They already can be traded at f1cx exchange for btc,ltc and doge. Someday they will be listed on another bigger exchange and price will rise. As long as it's free, you have nothing to lose.

No not only in BTC. You should spread your investment over a few coins and never put all your eggs in same basket. Yes bitcoin should be your biggest bag maybe 50% then spread the rest over some other altcoins with big potential.

I think it is much better not to put all your eggs in a single basket. The reason is very obvious. When something bad happens to the investment into which you put all your money, you have no more other ways to go. So you might want to explore some other coins. Although I would say that in terms of Bitcoin, it is really the safest and the most reliable cryptocurrency right now. But this is not to say that there are no more other promising cryptos out there that are also wise investments.

The current cryptocurrency market is volatile making the alt prices fall. There are many potential altcoin like BTC, ETH NEO .. but I recommend sticking with this advice and only invest in BTC, because it is a solid long-held organization, it is really the safest. and most reliable cryptocurrency right now

If the OP did that, now he already have a big returns from the investment because the price of bitcoin went to $20000 from $2500 eight times profits. So this is a good lesson fro the new investors if you are going ti invest in bitcoin then make your investment in long term like one or two years. Then you can know what is the real return from the bitcoin investment. But altcoin investments are more profitable than bitcoin but it is hard to find that altcoin.

Bitcoin is at the really good price for new investors at the moment ($8600), however, investing in Altcoins is also not a bad option at the moment. Eth, Waves and NEO had a good future ahead.

Invest on a potential ICO. Holding bitcoin is great but diversify and make use of it. Bitcoin price goes up and down so just go with the flow. Trade, Invest ,diversify. There's a lot of good ICOs these day. Do some research. You can check my signature for a start.

If you have a lot of money, the best investment for you is bitcoin.Theyhave proven that they can bounce back from any dump on price and when they recover, its always twice as its price 6 months ago. This happened last year 2017, this can happen again this year. For people like me who doesn't have a lot of money, we take risk on alts and hodl it for a few months. I won't recommend this if you don't have enough knowledge on trading.

many altcoins who started getting potentially besides bitcoin, my advice don't focus on one coin only because of very high risk. use yours to invest capital in the other altcoin also like the ethereum and ripple that will also be altcoin a great value. If you want to actually ICO also ye shall learn and be able to invest and thus will be promising.

To invest only in BTC u can't say that is a bad thing, its only that u want to invest in something and you don't wanna stay and play on the market to make like rotations and follow rates, BTC is a long-term investment and will only be consider to rise, also u can see numbers going down, investing in BTC means just buy it and don't touch it for few years

Bitcoin is a very reliable coin but it will not give as much profit as altcoins. If you want to multiply your capital several times you should invest in altcoins. There are many reliable and promising projects among them. I think that the coins from the TOP-20 are very good for investing.

The currency of the world is now a credit currency, the dollar corresponds to the credit of the American government, the British pound corresponds to the credit of the British empire, and the RMB corresponds to the credit of the Chinese government...

Even though the government's credibility is not so good. You can choose bitcoin at this time, and its value is based on confidence: people believe that such a system has a future and is valuable.

People often say that it makes no sense to invest in other coins when the market is pegged on bitcoin.
One thing you should realise is that if you believe crypto will dominate future tech, then this will definitely change. We are already seeing this somewhat with ETH: when you look at coin charts with ETH pairings they show less coupling with BTC.
Eventually, most coins will have a variety of pairings, which will thus reduce the effect that bitcoin has.. essentially meaning that it will make less sense to invest in bitcoin as opposed to other savvy techs.
With this in mind, think.. which coins will have a stronger backing at that time? My answer is those that have interoperability functionality like Multiversum, with techs similar to fully interoparable atomic swaps.

Invest in bitcoin if you have huge amount of money because it is very expensive even now that bitcoin price is low. If you have extra money but not so much you invest it on good and potential altcoins for short or long term.

I like the idea because bitcoin is the top crypto in the market however investing your money in one basket is not advisable. I also invest big percentage of my capital in btc and so far the profit I had for more than a year is really good.

On the other hand, I believe altcoins are profitable just like btc it just depends on the potential of the coin you chose to hold. For me the more coins you have in your portfolio the more earnings will come and its less risky compared to sticking in just one coin.

I believe when you first time get into this crypto market, everyone will suggest you to invest in Bitcoin to get high profit, but i think that is not completely true. If holding for long term is your target than holding Bitcoin and at least 1 altcoin will be much better, altcoins like ETH or Ripple has higher chance to maximize its value to the peak faster than bitcoin.

Investing solely in bitcoins alone is considerably plausible. Bitcoin is big, and if one focuses only to
concentrate on a big currency such as bitcoin is a bold and rational strategy, it's considerable though
since bitcoins is still the only currency out there with a high probability of making profits when the
market is right. But it's highly advisable to be more open minded with altcoins as well, bitcoins are
remarkable, the range in prices that it reaches is unmatched but it fluctuates almost too sudden that
it's not a good strategy if you are in greater prospects on investing. Altcoins like Ethereum are as good
as an investment as bitcoins. If you are investing into crypto, reconsider to involve altcoins with bitcoins
to increase your margin for profit.

Currently, I think and hope we are in a great bubble, and thus all price will soon deprecate at some moment or another. So for me, invest in nothing.

I wouldn’t invest all money in one cryptocurrency only, there are many different coins and tokens with a nice future and big perspectives. I’d invest in BTC, and also ETH, ETC, LTC, maybe ADA (this one seem to have quite a high potential and it’s cheap), XMR… so many choices.

Many people have said that eggs should not be placed in the same basket. The risk of capital loss is very high. You have chosen to invest in 3 altcoin that seems to be perfect, but you will hardly be able to earn high profits. Because maybe one of the 3 altcoin you invest will have a discount altcoin, and they compensate for the remaining altcoin. Investing is always a risk that is inevitable.

I would suggest to have both, bitcoin and altcoin. You can invest have on bitcoin and invest the other half on altcoin. Investing on bitcoin will give you a huge boost on your portfolio, it’s just a matter of time bitcoin will rise again. As for altcoins better do some researching before buying any altcoins, choose the ones with potential in the future. I hold Eth, OMG and NEO for my altcoins, you can try these or you can choose your own investment.

It's always safe to diversify your investment and not pull all eggs in just one basket. Bitcoin can really be promising and it can surely grow in the future, however, the current market situation had dropped everything. Everything crashed today, and this might be a good time to invest. If you are planning to invest for just a short-term, it's not the right time to do it. Invest and diversify your investment and hold it for a long-term.

You can split your investments into five to ten. Currently crypto currencies are growing up very well. Choose the top 10 coins from coinmarketcap.com. You can find the old and current data of the respected coins. You can compere with each coin as well. The ratio would certainly make you clear of which one to invest. You would certainly gain profits.

a smart investor will never just only invest in bitcoin, because they all know bitcoin is very fluctuative so it is very dangerous when we invest our money only in a coin, i think you should buy some altcoins such as ETH or NEO to optimize the profit you can get in the future and and have some altcoins to hold for long term.

Investment is your choice and do thorough analysis before investing. I would say segregate your money into two to three parts and invest in different crypto to be in safer side. In this way if one fails the other would help in profit. Example, invest in Bitcoin with 50%, Ethereum 25% and Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash 25%. I've just given an example of splitting your investment, you analyze and choose which other altcoins to invest other than Bitcoin.

BTC for many reasons is the first choice of investment for many years. But there are other currencies that are giving good return to investors. If you want to invest in cryptocurrency don't put all your money in BTC rather buy other currencies as well like Eth, IOTA, DASH etc. Also, don't buy the currency instantly at one rate rather buy it in chunks, you can average the price by buying at a lower rate ( equity trading strategy).

Don't invest your all money in Bitcoin. You can buy ETH and other coins also for short term and long term. This strategy will be fruitful for you to get higher profits.

That is a good advice, btc is a longterm investment with low risk ans also low reward, it is better to invest in some other altcoins to have short term investment with high risk and larger reward.

Invest also in other cryptos like ETH, NEO, Ripple and some other coin that are on the market's top list, having more coins on your wallet means more chances of having big things on return.

the proveb said "DON’T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET"
you're better to devide your capital into some coins.
for example you put in longterm coins like btc, eth, neo, etc. and shorterm coins like new coin after ico.

Thank you
Previously, everyone did it because there was no alternative. And what we see now, the variety of coins and the market is already oversaturated and it is possible to find a coin that is better in characteristics and efficiency than bitcoin, and it is asked why there is so much money to spend if there is a good substitute at a low price.

Investing on bitcoin is a wise choice. But spread your investments on other alt coins too. Do your own research, search for coins that are going to prevail in the future. Invest on those coins. Spreading out your investment, lowers the risk of suffering huge loss. :)
I agree, do not just invest in one crypto asset only. because if we spread our investment on many coins, and when one coin loses then there is one coin or some more reliable coin and it keeps us from losing ;D

No doubt that bitcoin has its unique potentials and benefits. If you plan for a long term investment then you can go ahead and invest
half in bitcoin and half in ethereum, because righ now
ethereum hodl the second place in the cryptocoins. So never always invest and trust in single coin. If you want to investment for short term then go for NEO. whereas long term investment will gain a huge profits if you have patience.

There is one important theory in the finance that " Never put all your eggs in one Basket". SO, I suggest you must invest in Bitcoin but apart from this you should invest in more crypto like the most emerging one now is the Ethereum, Litecoin and don't forget about the Dogecoin also.

I think in this case you certainly need to do some research before investing either in bitcoin or altcoin, but I suggest if your investment for the long term may be very right bitcoin to be your investment destination, while altcoin can be made in short term investments. because value of altcoin is very volatile.

It's hard to say invest in bitcoin is very safe, I don't agree with that. The price bitcoin is very affected by some rumors and speculation that can make goes up with drastically and goes down with drastically. And which make me worried is when you buy bitcoin and afterwards the price goes down with drastically and you take into one's head to sell your bitcoin, and make you lose your money. End up investment in cryptocurrency is not safe for everyone, you should know and learn more first it will safe for you. And for choose investment place it will good for choose 2 or more investment place, just not one.

If you want investment for very long term the answear is yes only in bitcoin but if you want to invest for middle term like 1 year or only 6 month you can try to invest in some legit ico like repux and essentia and auctus. Or if you affraid you can search another existing coin which have been dump but the project still running or in development like sonm, dent...sometimes it will gives you very good return in the middle term or even short term.

Better if you have invest to bitcoin you have invest also to the altcoins because even the bitcoin decrease they are affected yes but it is only little and you can get more profit to altcoin.

i think no matter how much profit bitcoin can be, we should never invest only one specific coin in order to survive for a long term, i said that because there have been so many investors quit their cryptocurrency because they greedy and always want a fastest way to get more profit, so we should never do that, it would be better if we can be safe and still have profit when we invest in many altcoins and bitcoin.

It is weird when this topic was created almost a year ago and the OP who opened up this topic is still a newbie but anyways I will answer your question or topic based on my opinion. It would be best if you have some money to invest in to diversify your investment. Buy at least 3-5 coins including bitcoin, at least your investment does not only rely on one certain coin and would not drop down that much if you divided your money in many cryptocurrencies.

nonsense. You buy only bitcoin since you don’t get to know another coins. At least get to know there is one more competitive coin called as Ethereum. Recently the founder of ETH on meeting pointed out the weak side of BTC. http://www.businessinsider.com/ethereum-founder-vital.. ETH is quite competitive, it’s wise to hold two or more coins at least to avoid risk.

I agree with this, bitcoin is the only coin that has the ability to survive in a longer time than the other altcoins. And for the OP, i would suggest you to divide of your money into two and just invest to bitcoin and etheruem, since this two is the only crypto which the most reliable and profitable that i trust.

I usually spend 30% of the money invested in cryptocurrency to keep Bitcoin, the remaining 40% I use to invest ICO and the rest to invest in altcoin. For me Bitcoin is stable but the profit from bitcoin investment in this time is not high so I usually keep bitcoin as a form of saving instead of depositing into the bank.

Well, we can invest to any coins as long as it was belong to the top and reliable coins. It just happen that Bitcoin is the best and most trusted coin in the market that is why if we want a sure earnings then better to choose Bitcoin only but the price become more expensive that is why we could choose the Altcoins as it was cheaper than Bitcoin for an investments. I also investing in Ethereum because even is Bitcoin is that reliable still it is not good to put all of your eggs in just one basket because Bitcoin is not 100% that will guarantee earnings.

If I were you I wont only focus in bitcoin, I have to consider altcoins because there are many coins that has potential not only btc, there are also eth, ltc, neo etc. Its better to diversify your investment since you are planning to invest $3k its a good capital actually to start with. I think you should diversify your portfolio better, you can invest a bit in BTC, a little on ETH, and NEO. That's the way to reduce your risk. Although the price of other atlcoins depends on the price of the BTC, the rate of increase and decrease of each altcoin is different, so holding more coins will reduce the serious downturn of the BTC.

And the rest of the bitcoin investment you can spend with altcoin.

The most important factor in determining which crypt money / money we will invest in is the amount of time we plan to invest. Current levels are very suitable for getting Bitcoin. But the strong rival Ethereum and so on. altcoins can also be evaluated. If your patience is high enough, you may need to buy a bitcoin and forget your investment for a year. Whatever it is, it may be better to invest in an amount that you will not feel sorry for when you lose.

Investing only in Bitcoin is a good idea but I suggest you to split your investments like 50% into Bitcoin, 25% into Ethereum and remaining 25% into NEO or Ripple. Splitting your investment is safe and can yield profit if one goes down the other may help you. If you like Bitcoin, then invest all the amount in it and it is your wish to do that.

Investing in bitcoin is the great choice right now. Lot of people now ready to invest in bitcoin. Because they can earn benefit earlier and more than other investments. Many people are now hold the bitcoin for long time to earn more profit. As of now the price is low but in future it becomes more and more than our expectation. So just invest in bitcoin and hold the coin for future to get more profit than you invest in bitcoin.

It would be better if you invest $1000 of the money you have on bitcoin and rest on other alts such as Ethereum, Litecoin.
Ethereum, considering its stats seem to be a promising investment. The coin, since its origin has grown up by 1100% and has also gained acceptance by big companies  like Microsoft.
Similarly, Litecoin with its blockchain of 2.5 minutes, leads to speedy transactions and hence has a lot of potential. Since its adoption by coinbase, the coin's markrt price has shoot up. Hence, it would be good to invest in the coin.

You should learn to know altcoin-altcoin which has good potential for the future besides bitcoin. Such as Etherum, Ripple, BCH, Litecoin. I hope you made the right decision and invested in bitcoin back then. It had an unbelievable run in the last quarter of last year. Actually that unbelievable run is one of the main reasons it’s struggling right now. It was a very fast and unhealthy rise in very short time. We are still living the conclusion of it. It’s again another opportunity to invest in bitcoin becase next year it will be in a much better situation.

Instead of investing only in BITCOİN, share your money with a few altcoins. So I think you will reduce your risk. If you did a good job and trust yourself, you can start investing some money that will not put you in a very difficult situation. These may not only be opportunities for BTC, but also for altcoins

Yes, you are right. I think similarly. It is worth diversifying investments. Prices are now quite low so should think about investing in altcoins and not just bitcoins. On many of them you will certainly earn a lot.

Thank you

i suggest you to buy bitcoin and you can trading short term so that you can get profit daily. because now the price of bitcoin is fluctuatif. so it is good to get profit shortly from bitcoin. but if you want to buy altcoin i suggest you to buy ethereum and waves because it is a good altcoin.

Investing in bitcoin alone is not so bad, but if you want better you also invest in other coins like ethereum and credits because I see growth in these 2 coins, and invest your money in the long run if you want to be rich.

Don't invest only in bitcoin. It is too risky. It is better to invest in several best coins. Also invest in ICOs. According to analysis tokens of exchanges give good gains. For example there is lccx.io (http://lccx.io) - looks like promising exchange based in London.  Well developed white paper, experienced team, located in politically stable jurisdiction.

It's wise to be divided into several investments to avoid risks. From my point of view, you can spend most of your money buying top 10 coins such as BTC, ETH and so on. The price is stable and fluctuate a little compared with any other altcoin. Also, I'm glad to invest BTC with low price.

i suppose that will not be a good idea for you to invest only in BTC as a beginer. A new guy in this market and don't have any experiences will never easy to succes if we just invest only in btc to trade, the value of btc is too big so when the price fluctuated, the effect  on loosing and earning will be very much, so we should invest in many altcoins to minimize the risks rather than just one.

Investing only your money to bitcoin is very risky because what if the price decrease your money also decrease unless you have different altcoin to invest you can gain more profit . Because if the coin are cheap and once the price increase you will gain more profit than bitcoin. But it's up to you what is your prefer maybe bitcoin or altcoin. But I suggest to have bitcoin and altcoin.

If you plan for a long term investment, then Invest your money on Ethereum and Waves, both platform are used by many tokens and assets. It's getting popular now.
But you want to be a daily trader, I can't recommend it. You can explore the altcoins thread and analyze what coin is good for daily speculate.
If you invest in surfing, you might want to choose low value coins. They are suitable for small investment. I think ETH can hold in a short time. We will also profit from them.

And then, if you invest in this market then it is best to invest in the long run. Investing in bitccoin is a wise choice because bitcoin has great potential, besides you should invest in some other potential altcoin like ethereum or litecoin.

However, depending on the appropriate time and judgment to improve the plan or adjust to suit market fluctuations. With bitcoin and ETH, I feel comfortable  when choosing the plan is to hold for a long time.

It depends on your technical and analytical skills and also on the available time. If you are ok with technical analysis then why only to invest in BTC if you can earn a lot of cryptocurrency by trading other crypto assets. But, of course, if you don`t have enough time for daily technical analysis and review (for example if you work at the traditional job full time), in this case investing in bitcoin for long-term is a very good option and I don't have any doubt that you will get high returns on your investment. Hope my recommendation will help you to make the right decision!

Invest in bitcoin is good. But at the same time concentrate on other altcoins also. Bitcoin is good for both and long term investments. While other coins such as Ethereum,Waves,Ripple,NEO. These coins are also good to invest. But you have to wait for long time to earn more profit than you invest. Current situation os good for bitcoin investment due to its low price. Again it will pickup in the market like last year.

Rather than making an investment into bitcoin, it is good to have a diversified investment. Having to allocate your portfolio thus minimizing the risk of losing a lot of capital. I think coin investments will be good. But what is unique about the Crypto market is that when the BTC devalues, all other atlcoins will fall. I think it would be a good idea if he could hold onto BTC.

Nobody would not get any good result for holding a one coin since holding more coins will be suitable and most profitable. Holding bitcoins will create panic to anybody if price fall will came. And holding more alts will be good since we may get more selection if the other half will fail. There are so many things that we need to look before believing on one so that our expectation to gain will became good and achievable.

That is right. There are other coins that are potentially growing in the market aside from bitcoin. You have to invest on the other instead of waiting for profit from the only one investment. Finding good coins where you can put your money without doubt to lose profit because good coins has been growing as long as it is popular to investors and the project is develop successfully.

I don't think that good choice, if you just invest on bitcoin. Because there are so many coins you can to invest beside bitcoin and as we know it, bitcoin is limited coin. So someday it's will gone. I can advise, better invest to eth or monero. ;)

I agree, for long term investment you can invest on ethereum and Waves ,but i would suggest to divide your money. In that case, you'd consider investing some percentage of that 20 percent you're saving, as opposed to the full 10 percent of your income  "Never before have young people been able to change economic classes so quickly."

at risk, if investing in one coin only because if the decline is certainly very high losses. Maybe the spread of capital you have available to the potential crypto some coins that can generate a lot of profit.

Thank you
if you were about to ask the same question today, well with the price of almost $8,000 bitcoin wasn't the best to solely invested for your $3,000 it can even buy half of this huge coin, whybnot consider ethereum as secondary option to put all ofhat amount.because the last dip gives the ethereum invetor a chance to buy and collect before it grows again and recover from the dip

Do not forget XRP some banks in the world have started to glance and cooperate with XRP. one of the banks in Indonesia has been working with XRP.
of course this is the first step banks will begin to be interested in blockchain technology.

It is up to you, if you will only invest in bitcoin and you think you will gain more, go ahead, there is nonharm in doing so, you might get fortune out of it, but do not just focus on bitcoin alone, there is already a huge market for altcoins, and not only that, there is a huhe space in the market for altcoins to grow, however, you will need a good understanding on how the market moves, there are times when bitcoin goes up, all altcoins go down and vice-versa. Your knowledge in trading will help you win in the market,  and focusing in judt one cryptocurrency will only limit your growth, just like in the stock market, you should learn how to diversify, so that in any case that you see bitcoin going down, one or more of your altcoins is going up, do not just focus on beating the inflation in fiat, also focus on how you can win in the market, be it bullish or bearish.

My advice is, you should invest Bitcoin and Ethereum because these 2 coins are the best coins in the crypto market.
If we invest in a coin that has guaranteed value then the profits will be earned.
Both coins are coins that have high numbers compared with another altcoin.
Please study it.

Now it is possible to divide the risks of your crypto portfolio into several cryptocurrencies. But there is a problem that often, all cryptocurrencies are moving in the same direction.

There's a lot of coins here that evolves like bitcoin, coins like eth and other coins are only worth 10% of their presence cost, so you think of spreading your portfolio, you can invest on Bitcoin but also look on other alternative coins like Waves, Stellar and Litecoin and of course Ethereum.

Investing in bitcoin is the right choice, especially in bitcoin itself has a good prospect for the future if it is in an asset made and will be able to earn huge profits. But it would be nice if capital is not only invested in bitcoin alone, investing well into other altcoins that have bright future prospects.

I think you should invest in BTC and ETH so that it will reduce the risk of allocating risk and profit in many places. That is the strategy in business. Do not put eggs in the same basket. So the ability to lose capital is very high.

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.

The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I recently found a hidden GEM called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

They are on ICO stage and already trading on some exchanges, you can check their website: https://ethermeta.com/
Or even better go through their Bitcointalk thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2659058.0

Anyone advises you to spread your portfolio for minimal loss and maximum profit, there are a lot of good coins now that's worth investing, there are a lot of early investors on Ethereum that are now very rich and there are a lot of coins that show going to eth and bitcoin's way.

Bitcoin is good for investing, especially long-term investments.
When you decide to invest long-term with Bitcoin, then you have a chance to earn greater profits.
Conversely, if you are investing in Bitcoin in the short term, the benefits will be small, because Bitcoin is often down and up.
The second option for investment is Ethereum, this coin also has a good advantage.
Despite being under Bitcoin, but this coin is very good.

My advice if you want to invest not only in Bitcoin alone. But there must also be other coin reserves that are good also if used as an investment asset. What I'm worried about if you just focus on one coin is that if the coin is dead you do not have any other coins you usually rely on. So I suggest you invest in some of the best coins.

that is why we should always have a back up plan (i.e investing on some alts or tokens ) because bitcoin cant always give us a stable profit. there is a saying that called "dont put your eggs in one basket " because if you loose you loose it all but if you win you also win big although the the percent of winning is only 30% out of 100 . So thats it , much better if you can just always spread your capital across to some other profitable coins in order to lessen the risk but at the same time increasing your chance of winning.

I think, if we don't have any knowledge in the crypto, it is better to stay away from here because we can get bitcoin at the highest price which will make us sad. and we need to learn more in the crypto so we can buy the coins and I think it is better to invest only in bitcoin because, in the future, bitcoin value will give us a big profit. and if we can learn about altcoin, then maybe we can split our money too to invest in the altcoin so we can have a double investment which could help us to make a bigger profit in the future.

At the end it is up to each user to decide whether they want to invest all their money in bitcoin or to try to diversify their investments, investing only in bitcoin is a good choice but it's one that is not going to give you as much profits as if you diversify your investments, the only problem with diversifying your investments is that is going to be more difficult to track how all your coins are doing.

Prices for now also have risen rapidly, especially later. Already many large investors and small investors who joined into the Neo project. They believe that by investing in Neo they will get multiple benefits. By launching its own platform, Neo became more successful and tried to keep the top spot in the world of cryptocurrency. Investing in bitcoin right now is a wise decision. Right now Bitcoin price is around $ 8130 and starts showing signs of recovery. I believe that in the next few years bitcoin will grow strongly and its price will go to the moon. However, I should not just buy Bitcoin, as there would be risk, you should buy a few other potential altcoins to diversify the market, no one put all the eggs in the same basket.

This depends on what you seek for. If seek a long-term investment, then you should invest in Bitcoin if you could afford it, of course. Many people seek to gain quick and high profits, so they invest in altcoins, but this can be dangerous sometimes because some people invest in altcoins without paying attention to the whitepaper or knowing who is going to use this token.

Bitcoin is one of the most valuable crypto to invest. Bitcoin is very popular, most people know bitcoin, it has the largest market capitalization, and every day it has huge trading volume. I believe that long-term investment in bitcoin promises to be profitable. Currently at Bitcoin prices of about $ 8000, this is a great time for us to buy and hold. Hoping that by the end of this year Bitcoin will return to $ 20000 price and stability.

The high amount of money deposited in a single deposit is also a high risk. This investment plan will change according to the risk you want to receive. For example, if you want less risk, you can divide into lower coins. Of course, the money you choose should be a bright money. If you want to get riskie, it is better to take risks because the future money is due to btc and high demand.

Currently, bitcoin is priced at less than $ 8000, so we should buy before the price increases again. Besides, I advise you not to just buy Bitcoin because no one puts all the eggs in them, you should buy a few other potential altcoins to diversify your market.

No, some crypto coin are worth for investment but some of them are will become shitcoin and useless. So if you want to invest in Altcoin i suggest you to invest in famous Altcoin like ETH, LTC,etc and ICOs is more suitable for short-term investment. But overall Bitcoin is the best for investment.

Yes it was worth it to invest in bitcoin if you have funds but if you are starting from low funds you should invest first to altcoins who have better project.

Putting money in one place is a very risky thing, I will never make bitcoin as the main place to keep money, let alone bitcoin development is difficult, ethereum is a solution that we can choose because the development of ether will continue to improve.

just like eth, bitcoin will also continue to grow and increase, all crypto currencies have their respective risks, I do not understand-you talk about security in saving coins, or the potential of bitcoin price fluctuations?

There are various solutions offered, in the case of safe storage nothing is different. It just depends on the media you use and your behavior in keeping your assets alone.

If you are just investing in bitcoin, I do not think it's a wise thing. Because bitcoin limited coin, one day will run out. Wiser if you invest in other altcoin, eg ethereum, monero, zcash, dodge etc. But it's also up to you, I'm just suggesting. :)

Actually investment in bitcoin is one of the good idea, but I was not agree regarding solely investment because not all of the time bitcoin are raising up. Sometimes due to unpredictable fluctuation of all coins in crypto currency community investment in bitcoin are largely damage, so on my own investment in bitcoin only is not practical. I suggest to invest in different coins and altcoins to assure that in the future you will gain income.
I agree with you mate. Yes,bitcoin is a very good coin to invest but as what you have said and what we all really knew bitcoin is unpredictable the value will raise immediately also when it fall down. What I have learned was to divide my money for investing diffetent coins which is good and promising. In investing you should knew and study what will be the coins you want to invest you can also check in the market so you will have guide.

Thank you
here I myself can be said newcomers, who do not know much about investment, which is a good coin to be invested, but I often read in this forum about a good investment for the long term, which until now many people invest there, namely Bitcoin , for my capital $ 3000 is a lot of capital, so you can buy bitcoin at current prices, even if you want to buy another altcoin, I suggest you buy Ethereum, because I think Ethereum is also good for long term investment.

The altcoins fall very quickly as they rise very fast. If you are looking for a secure investment, getting a bitcoin with all of your money can be a sensible choice. But putting a basket on all the eggs is not the right choice for the stock market and investment :)

In this regard, it would be more logical to make crypto money choice depending on the amount of investment and the amount of investment in my view. Bitcoin is your choice if you have a high amount of money and are looking for a long time investment. If you are going to invest in short term and small amount, you can do business with a reliable Altcoin. One thing you should not forget is the fact that Crypto money can usually provide you a good income in as little as 6 months.

Try to invest in both bitcoin and Altscoins there's nothing to worry about it because for me most of altcoins and especially ETH are depending in bitcoin price also if the bitcoin was in the good price the altcoin is in the impressive price also.

The investment portfolio should be divided into 3 parts. It will be right to invest 40% in bitcoin, 40% in altcoyines and 20% in USDT

if you have a certain amount of money at this level, you can translate it to any kind of investment. If you invest in a coin with great value like btc, the profit will be high but it is not known that it is satisfactory.

Good advice, but why invest in USDT? After all, this coin is tied to the dollar, there can not be any special growth from this coin.

Your wallet should be diversified! In addition to bitcoin, you need to invest in other promising coins, altcoins, in order to minimize the risks from possible losses! I have more than 100 different coins distributed in my wallets, even if 90% of them will die in the coming years, but the remaining 10% will survive and provide me with financial stability!

am thinking the USDT part is unnecessary... i mean the coin is pegged to USD... so there will be no profit at all. USDT is important only for trading during tides, when the market is going red to trade ur cryptos for USDT, and then in the dip, you buy your favorite coins

The fact is that I do not sell at all and do not buy for coins equivalent to the dollar. Perhaps someone knows what their benefits are, but for me they remain incomprehensible.

You need to keep a diverse portfolio. This is because we have witnessed a crash in the market of the Bitcoin in the early days of the year. Many people lost pretty much and few quit the business. What I want to say is that keep your portfolio diverse because it helps share the loss in case the prices in one asset you have invested in falls. The remaining invested money is still there and not gone anywhere.

Bitcoin does have a much higher price than its crypto coin. I think bitcoin is not the only investment in crypto, there are altcoins that have good prospects, and it can also be a consideration for choosing an investment.

Yeah you are completely right. However I would even say, that pretty many people have quited crypto market as they are afraid to lose more. Sometimes I actually think that only bounty hunters are left in this market xD As everything I see everywhere is come here are an airdrop, come here you can earn free. Yes, if you did buy bitcoin for $ 2500 then you would now be happy with a good profit. But many altcoins from Top 100 coinmarketcap have increased in price many times too. And now, almost a year later, we can compare the price dynamics and draw appropriate conclusions.

Yes, perhaps you are wise, because BTC is the leading coin of the Crypto market, the price of BTC has a big impact on other altcoins so when the BTC price increases will lead to the price of other altcoin increase as and when price Decreased BTCs will result in lower prices for atlcoin. So holding the BTC is a wise decision.

It would be less risk for you but if you see a great potential to make huge profit on altcoins which is already proven then just set the majority of your bitcoin investment to either 70% or 80% of your total portfolio.

Most of people, traders or investors would suggest us to spread our portofolio into some good altcoin and also put bitcoin in the list.
By spreading our portofolio we can get minimum risk and maximum profir because we split our risk into some of the altcoin. There are many altcoin out there which is good for investment so if we in invest only in bitcoin then our investment portofolio become not healthy.

A lot of people said that Bitcoin is safe and better than altcoins but i don't think so.
We can't negate that Bitcoin is the best choice to investing because it is still leader of cryptocurrencies and occupy more than 40% the capital of crypto market but technology of Bitcoin is too old and less useful so i afraid Bitcoin will be replace by other altcoin in the future.
While now have a lot of altcoins that have good real projects and useful for some field of society, so investing in them are absolute safe even you can get much benefit than investing in Bitcoin.

In my opinion you should choose more than 2 portfolios. This will reduce your risk. Although the price of altcoin depends on the price of BTC but not necessarily so, their rate of increase and decrease are different.

At present, there are other good options available too. There are also some more established altcoins such as Ethereum, Neo, Litecoin, Ripple, Cardano, and Monero. It is entirely your decision, as the price of bitcoin has also come down sharply over the past few months. So, it is still a very good option for investment.

No, now investment can be done in many places. Not just in bitcoin alone. In altcoins many good coins and worth investing, for example, ETH and BCH. ETH and BCH I think it's good to invest and so far the development is also pretty good and always increase. But bitcoin remains the most important thing in terms of investment trust. Bitcoin is superior to altcoins.

But this is an exceptional case and exceptions are everywhere. Bitcoin is the mother of all digital currencies. It is the foundation of digital market. It is the only coin that has produced millionaire so far. Definitely, investing in it is the best thing that a person can do to himself in his whole life. At the end it is up to each user to decide whether they want to invest all their money in bitcoin or to try to diversify their investments, investing only in bitcoin is a good choice but it's one that is not going to give you as much profits as if you diversify your investments, the only problem with diversifying your investments is that is going to be more difficult to track how all your coins are doing.
split our money to some portofolio invesment could make us avoid big loss.put you money into some basket,it looks like say to us to invest not in only one asset.when it being scammed , all money will be gone
Investing all your money in bitcoin is an option it is not the one that gives you the best profits but it still can give you some, but investing all your money in an altcoin is a lot more risky even investing all your money in a coin like ethereum is not a good idea but if what you are planning is to invest all your money in a coin that no one knows and that is relatively new you are most likely going to lose your money.

What will be with your portfolio if something will happen with bitcoin? I don't know what exactly can happen, but we should not exclude this possibility. You can lose all in one moment if you will invest in one cryptocurrency.
