I don't think bitcoin is the best investment. In contrast, bitcoin is a safe-haven asset in the virtual currency market and a safe investment channel.

My advise is to invest 50% in BTC and the balance 50% in other Altcoins of your choice. We must have diversified funds to reduce the risk.

Hello,
A question of a beginner, I read several articles that say better invest in bitcoin only (most of articles are from 2015-2016), but as bitcoin exceeds now $2500, I do not know if this rule still holds.
I want to invest a lot of money (let's say $3000), but I do not know if I have to invest only in bitcoin or other alcoins? What do you recommend?

if in my opinion better invest in bitcoin just because its profit is bigger. but if you still have enough funds to be invested into alcoin other may be. but you should first see the potential coin that you will invest if there is a possibility the price movement will continue to rise. such as ETH and ZEC are one of the best coin to be invested besides BTC. |

i think no matter how much profit bitcoin can be, we should never invest only one specific coin in order to survive for a long term, i said that because there have been so many investors quit their cryptocurrency because they greedy and always want a fastest way to get more profit, so we should never do that, it would be better if we can be safe and still have profit when we invest in many altcoins and bitcoin.

It is weird when this topic was created almost a year ago and the OP who opened up this topic is still a newbie but anyways I will answer your question or topic based on my opinion. It would be best if you have some money to invest in to diversify your investment. Buy at least 3-5 coins including bitcoin, at least your investment does not only rely on one certain coin and would not drop down that much if you divided your money in many cryptocurrencies.

nonsense. You buy only bitcoin since you don’t get to know another coins. At least get to know there is one more competitive coin called as Ethereum. Recently the founder of ETH on meeting pointed out the weak side of BTC. http://www.businessinsider.com/ethereum-founder-vital.. ETH is quite competitive, it’s wise to hold two or more coins at least to avoid risk. |

I usually spend 30% of the money invested in cryptocurrency to keep Bitcoin, the remaining 40% I use to invest ICO and the rest to invest in altcoin. For me Bitcoin is stable but the profit from bitcoin investment in this time is not high so I usually keep bitcoin as a form of saving instead of depositing into the bank.

Well, we can invest to any coins as long as it was belong to the top and reliable coins. It just happen that Bitcoin is the best and most trusted coin in the market that is why if we want a sure earnings then better to choose Bitcoin only but the price become more expensive that is why we could choose the Altcoins as it was cheaper than Bitcoin for an investments. I also investing in Ethereum because even is Bitcoin is that reliable still it is not good to put all of your eggs in just one basket because Bitcoin is not 100% that will guarantee earnings. |

There are some people who can not focus on many things and can only focus on one thing. If you belong to that group, I think it's the best decision to invest only in bitcoin. If you are not from that class, it is better to invest in bitcoin and some altcoin because it will be more profitable.

It's depend on your plan. If you plan to do Long-term invest you should choose coins that have been famous like BTC, ETH, and the other. But if you plan to do short-term invest you should choose some new coin but you must be careful and choose wisely.

Also depends on amount of money you have.If there is not a lot,you can get some alts that already did quite well before and solid project,but they dipped a lot cuzz of btc dancing so you can end up with some good profit.

It depends about your needs. If you can invest in long term coins bitcoin will give you the biggest profit, you can try with ethereum too. If you want day trading the best option will be watching market as often as you can for choose the best option for you |

This is an old topic and I wonder what could be your decision by that time its almost a year now, anyway I would like to give my stance regarding your questions.
If I were you I wont only focus in bitcoin, I have to consider altcoins because there are many coins that has potential not only btc, there are also eth, ltc, neo etc. Its better to diversify your investment since you are planning to invest $3k its a good capital actually to start with. Goodluck.
