Hello,
A question of a beginner, I read several articles that say better invest in bitcoin only (most of articles are from 2015-2016), but as bitcoin exceeds now $2500, I do not know if this rule still holds.
I want to invest a lot of money (let's say $3000), but I do not know if I have to invest only in bitcoin or other alcoins? What do you recommend?
Thank you
Then when you created this topic it was actual, and now it is better not to sink into bitcoin losses, you will get more than a profit. It is worth considering very different ways of earning.

This thread is from june 2017 when bitcoin was around $2500. If OP had invested in just bitcoin he would have done a good investment by tripple his money with today's price or 8x his initial investment if he had sold when bitcoin was all time high.
I remember my investments in the summer of 2016, when due to problems At one of the bitflex exchanges, the price fell very low and in September 2016 it was $ 500 for Bitcoin. Even if we take into account today's price, it is practically a fantastic growth.

for now not just the bitcoin that has the potential to gain profit, there are many other coins that have the potential to be used as an investment, but that's just my current assessment

I suppose you could invest in bitcoin about 70% and invest the rest for other potential coin. Investing in bitcoin will give you a big boost, Bitcoin has the biggest price fluctuation but it's only a matter of time the bitcoin will rise again.

Although the situation on the market has changed in recent months. Still Bitcoin, still very relevant for investment, it will first go up as soon as the market begins to grow.

The situation today is very suitable for us to invest in the altcoin and Bitcoin. All altcoins are falling sharply, ETH is only below $ 600 this is a good time to buy and hold. By the end of this year altcoin prices will continue to rise, the Crypto market will explode.

If you invest your all money for short term that means daily investment then I can't give you any decision because it is impossible to say which can will give you profit but if you interest to invest you money for long term then I can suggest you for buying Ethereum and Waves those coins will have more potential chance to give more profit in near future.

invest not necessarily with bitcoin only, because the price is high then you can have other options such as investing in altcoin, which needs to diit in altcoin is, first pliers look for coins that have proven good and ever have a high price, then read and follow the development of the coin, and on the way down, that's your chance to invest in it

Now that you can invest in other potential coins, but the market has changed in recent months, so the bitcoin price is down, I advise you now is a good opportunity for you to invest in bitcoin. , and it will increase as soon as the market starts to develop.

risking all on a single coin thus capital has a very large risk if such coins in time it costs down. But if you dare to take on the road with this long-term investment is going to be very interesting because of not imaginable price bitcoin for several years into the future.

It's always safe to diversify your investment and not pull all eggs in just one basket. Bitcoin can really be promising and it can surely grow in the future, however, the current market situation had dropped everything. Everything crashed today, and this might be a good time to invest. If you are planning to invest for just a short-term, it's not the right time to do it. Invest and diversify your investment and hold it for a long-term.

You can split your investments into five to ten. Currently crypto currencies are growing up very well. Choose the top 10 coins from coinmarketcap.com. You can find the old and current data of the respected coins. You can compere with each coin as well. The ratio would certainly make you clear of which one to invest. You would certainly gain profits.

a smart investor will never just only invest in bitcoin, because they all know bitcoin is very fluctuative so it is very dangerous when we invest our money only in a coin, i think you should buy some altcoins such as ETH or NEO to optimize the profit you can get in the future and and have some altcoins to hold for long term.

Investment is your choice and do thorough analysis before investing. I would say segregate your money into two to three parts and invest in different crypto to be in safer side. In this way if one fails the other would help in profit. Example, invest in Bitcoin with 50%, Ethereum 25% and Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash 25%. I've just given an example of splitting your investment, you analyze and choose which other altcoins to invest other than Bitcoin.

there are lots of other options aside from Bitcoin, I don't know if you're planning for a long-term investment or a short term one, but you won't go wrong investing on Bitcoin, but I suggest you try to check other options as well, like Ethereum and Neo or even waves, to be honest there are lots to choose from other than Bitcoin. Here take this advice to heart, Never put all the eggs in the same basket.

It is a good idea. But everything is risk in crypto market. Also my idea is 1 bitcoin = 1 bitcoin. I don't compare bitcoin with anything. Don't lose bitcoin is better than lose bitcoin. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

BTC for many reasons is the first choice of investment for many years. But there are other currencies that are giving good return to investors. If you want to invest in cryptocurrency don't put all your money in BTC rather buy other currencies as well like Eth, IOTA, DASH etc. Also, don't buy the currency instantly at one rate rather buy it in chunks, you can average the price by buying at a lower rate ( equity trading strategy).

Don't invest your all money in Bitcoin. You can buy ETH and other coins also for short term and long term. This strategy will be fruitful for you to get higher profits.
That is a good advice, btc is a longterm investment with low risk ans also low reward, it is better to invest in some other altcoins to have short term investment with high risk and larger reward.
