Investing on Dash is expensive nowdays.

On some old coins it is either expensive to setup a masternode or even to get 10k minimum coins for just staking can be damn expensive.


What are your top 3 Staking coins for the future that might give you ROI such as Dash?

My bets are:

1. NEM
2. NXT/ARDR
3. ReddCoin

Continue to accumulate Dash now while its cheap. Shared masternodes will be a thing in the future and just a dozen or so coins will yield you big returns in transaction fees.

no doubt Dash will be big. Yet the question is, which short term project can I invest in, to double or triple my amount to then be able to invest more in coins that have a higher market cap!

I would recommend you Komodo. It has a nice staking, little sure, but at least realistic, and its price has a great growth potential in the future.

Icash is a strange one, the old dev team abandoned it and now a new dev team has come along to update and continue the project.  It's picking up nicely, a MN costs 100,000 at 582 sats each = 0.582 BTC

The best part is I'm getting around 500-1000 icash back per day!!! which is crazy returns!!

The bad news, they are doing a hard fork shortly to update the coin, which mean new rules and I'm sure the rewards will be lowered significantly.  When a coin goes through a fork like this it means a coin swap is required.  When I've been through this in the past, the price drops so hard.  So you could buy now and get the good MN rewards until the fork, or wait until the coin swap and pick up a bargain.  This coin has a great future and the name is perfect, one of the best out there.  I'm sure if the team and community continues, it's one to watch.

INSANE

I love this coin haha, there is no other coin like this.  It's unique and although will never be the next bitcoin, it will gain momentum and have an amazing following once it gets going.

It costs 50k for a masternode = 2.901 BTC 

I own 2 MN's of INSN and to be honest, the returns aren't great, I'm getting around 4-5 per day from both, however I know for a fact, the price will double within a few months so I'd strongly recommend getting on this boat.  Join the slack, they are a great team.

INSN has just gone through a coin swap which has disturbed the balance alot! However it will finish soon and somebody new can just buy the new coins.  I'm guess $1 per coin by the end of the year.  (trololol - just a feeling no back up evidence etc etc)

You can stake INSN as well, Staking is about the same as running a Masternode without the hosting costs.

Pivx is my main staking coin, I have around 17k pivx and I just stake, I don't bother with a masternode, I'm picking up around 6-8 piv's per day.  Love it, but don't want to get to many more because it's not so liquid as the likes of Dash etc.

Although it's been a great month for staking, once the market picks up, I find other coins POW's etc move faster however coins which stake and have Masternodes are more stable.

iCash and INSN are classic examples of coins that been used and abused in pump & dump groups.. so that's a big no-no for me..

Icash, agreed... but new dev and community is good and it's so cheap it'd be crazy not to.  They've just relaunched the website and with the fork it could be exciting.  I'd watch and if it gets to 100-200 sats reconsider


You can't put INSANE in that group though.  Clean cut since the start.  It's ace!  The team is brilliant.

PosWallet? 

I quite like it, I used it for my Insane coins to stake them, it saved me leaving my computer on 24/7.  They delisted pivx because you can earn more using your own wallet so I keep my 'puter on anyway so might as well run the icash and insane nodes, hence I've searched for this to look for other stakers. 

I'm downloading the RDD blockchain/wallet now, takes for ever!!!  There has just been a pump so I'll wait for a better in price but I'll give it a shot.

I was thinking about PINK coin as well.

Not sure about Komodo, I think zcash already has that box ticked?

My issue with some coins now, they're simply clones.  RDD looks similar to pivx to me, however it does seem to have it's own community going which I quite liked.

XEM is a fantastic coin but the staking rewards are the worst ever plus it's performance of late has been downward spiral.  A super node is on my wish list.  Won't happen for a while tho and if the rewards are so bad, I may not bother.

PosW - If I'm honest, I didnt' really like the setup and they told me to move my INSN because they were updating the site, I've not been back since, however it was like a bank account with decent interest and as mentioned it did mean my 'puter could be switched off.  I is vulnerable to hacks like all exchanges are.

We can do a month trial for each staking coin, but 1 BTC in a new wallet and stake for 30 days, see which comes back with the best returns.

It's not all about returns, for instance INSN is poor returns, but coin growth will be good...

I've downloaded the BitBean wallet and it's taking even longer than RDD to DL the ledger.  But it is kinda funky lil wallet.  There is an icon in the bottom right saying, you are not staking because you don't have mature coins, so I'm hoping I don't need to use POSW, you'd probably get better returns but I just prefer to do it on my 'puter

Komodo is staked by spending/moving your coins so you don't need your wallet or computer on.  Strange but good I suppose.

Most known pos altcoins does not have a very good long term performance in the market compared to pow coins, probably because it is not as safe compared to pow tech.

Yes, I dl'd it too and it is taking a while. You don't need to use POSW for any staking coin, and I figure they probably take their cut of the stake, so it's probably better to stake on your own.   I am also running Hyperstake and Truckcoin on the same machine, with HealtyWormCoin and Condensate on another machine.   There are some coins that pay large percentages, and I'm not sure if Bitbean is still competitive or not.  I like the way that the price has gone up pretty high at different points.  Not all POS coins pay the same   Ideally, it's good to find a new one that's cheap and has a good team.

I am really hard for Waves as far as POS goes. Simply because your leases will not only generate you Waves, but also other tokens which may or may not moon.

Keep an eye on Wagerr for blockchain sports betting.  They completed their ICO last month, and you can get an Oracle masternode for approximately $2500.  That's current price of 10 cents * 25000 WGR.  The masternode limit is capped at 2000, but the devs may increase it at a later date.

edit:  I forgot to mention that WGR will also have staking capabilities if you don't have enough for a masternode.

I've got my bitbean wallet and downloaded the blockchain, took me 2 days, but since I've found a way to download it so it's far faster.

I've bought a lot of bitbean because staking is supposed to be good.  Not received anything yet.  Will keep you updated.

I personally prefer POS over POW, providing there is enough staked and volume, it's far better.  Obviously I see the benefit of PoW but it has major drawbacks as well.

Downloaded the chrome wallet and I'm taken away by it.  That is one nice setup.  Not sure now to navigate yet, but I understand why it's so far up the market cap list now.

I was a bit lost too initially, but you'll get it quickly. The trading platform isn't at its best yet, but it's still a prototype, so I'm very optimistic with Waves in general.

Do keep in mind that you require a minimum of 0,001 Waves to transfer or trade anything on the platform. So it's easiest to buy Waves on an exchange and transfer them into your wallet afterwards, rather than buying Bitcoin and trying to trade them into Waves on the platform. Alternatively you could milk a faucet until you get enough. In May this was one lucky of 2-3 average requests, not sure about now.

Good choices on all 3 OP but I would go cash and wait... We're going down.

I think PIVX is great also and it is at a much lower base price than DASH right now. Much room for improvement!

Surprised no one has mentioned Diamond yet.

Maybe not huge gains yet but a slow and steady riser.

Bitbean (BITB) has so far been the best staker, 4000 beans in less than 24 hours.

I might be late to the party but EMBERcoin (EMB) gives out 720% annually. I have had it for almost a month and have accrued atleast 10x on my original investment because the total staking weight was only at 25% of the total supply... so we were seeing daily rewards at 10-20% of our current total coins! People are starting to find out about it now but give it a look.

There are active devs updating the wallet and I think they want to add masternodes (which I don't agree with). They are active in the discord chat. I would start out with atleast 5 million coins to have a good weight.

Note: There is an issue with the peers data file but the discord chat has the fix listed out (hence some of the upcoming wallet updates). Very easy.

ARK or Blocknet, no doubt. One of these will probably be $1+ billion market cap.

Shift if you want to be more speculative, it has a lower cap and smaller team, so it's more risky but there's potential for 100x gains after few years if the decentralized web/storage takes off (which is what I'm betting on).

No doubt these three are your favorites my friend. Not without good reason too. They've all made considerable gains. Especially blocknet.

I agreee with most coins suggested no doubt good coins with big potential. Ok want to join with suggestions of early development coins. they have bigger risk but also bigger reward potential. Take a look at NTRN and RNS coins very nice masternode coins with fair profit you can read details. My last recomendation is ONION it is in my signature it has PoS, very young but IMO it will be top 10 coin for sure! Very strong team, futures and community. DYOR as always

My best staking coins are Rain, 808 coin, BitBean and 1337 coin all making me a nice little profit each week. Rain and 808 coin pay nice staking rewards and are well worth picking up some to stake for the short to long term. Both have active dev's and communities which help support the coins. Then I stake coins like DMD and MOIN which in my opinion are for the long term.

If your idea is POS coins like Dash, then in addition to choosing coins that have a good yield pos staking then you have to choose coins that the market today underestimates to their potential.

My advice for these coins are:

Shift - decentralized market, phanton in testnet and almost ready, only 11million coins at $ 1 today

XEL - RADS - KOMODO - SYS - NEO - High potential and coins still underestimated by the market

I agree with those who see pivx as a good investment, I can also suggest you posw coin, their roadmap looks very good, their project is already about staking coins, and I was very surprised to see that posw is supported by ledger because it seems not lots of people are aware of it.

ADA will soon switch and give stakeholders some reward. i think it will be work like waves. you can make an own node or you lend some money to node owners and get a reward

I still think that Neo is the best proof of stake coin out there considering the amount of GAS it produced. You can check in www.neotogas.com website how much Gas is produced depending on your Neo amount. Waves also produces Waves if you lease or run a full node, but the earned amount is too low considered to Neo. I did not analysed Dash or other projects but I do not think they will be so profitable as Neo.
Moreover, Neo price movement is better considering other coins if you check its chart. It is one of the least bleeding altcoin in this turmoil

when i keep my proof-of-stake coins on bittrex will they stake there?

No.

For those who don't know, staking wallets are the easiest thing in the world to back up.  You just save your wallet.dat file from the Appdata folder, and if the wallet ever corrupts, just delete everything in there except that wallet.dat (and maybe a .conf file if there is one) and restart the wallet.  It rebuilds everything and syncs.  I just keep backup folders of the name of my coins with their .dat files in them, and all the coins are safe.

It’s not a good idea to think it as a long term investment and put high amounts on it. It could be better to consider it as a short or  middle term investment . It’s hard to predict what can happen till 2020. If you are not looking for 100x or even 1000x but 10x i would recommend you ethereum in middle term.

I can't see reddcoin ever really rising much at all, it has already a fairly large market cap and has struggled to really gain any adoption, a promising idea but I think major social networks will just make their own coins if anything.

One moment you mean Siacoin-Fans? I don't believe, that Sia is a stake coin. But I'm not absolutely sure.

Peercoin (PPC). Way undervalued in relation to supply against Bitcoin. Think most other PoS coins are just hype, personally.

In my opinion the best Proof of Stake coins to invest now and gain huge in 2020 are Ethereum and Ark. Ethereum is one of the most popular altcoin with real use case and accepting by a lot of people like Bitcoin. Ark is also very promising and have good team behind. Ark goal is to connect all the blockchain ecosystem to each other and I really like Ark delegate system you can earn money just by voting delegates

Looks like NEO is the best because you can actually stake it in a wallet and that wallet is no need to be online all the time. It's that simple just hold your Neo in Neo wallet and claim GAS as a dividend often. Neo and gas value is low now so stock some of them while they are cheap.

Looks like a good new coin.   What is its staking percentage?  Looked at the OP and it was hard to find, if even there. 

Chesscoin if adopted by a good team may be a good bet in the future, since of the appeal of chess, and that community being able to understand crypto.

One of the most undervalued Proof of Stake coins in all of crypto is Spectrecoin.  It pays 5% per year in staking rewards, plus it has solid tech and low circulating supply.  Its current price of $1 and change is a freakin steal.  If you look at the one-month chart for XSPEC at coinmarketcap, it appears to be just starting its second leg up in a major surge.  In any case, this is a coin that will pay off huge in the long run, for those who buy now while it's cheap, and HODL.

I'd say neo it has jumped up like crazy recently and you can hold it on binance exchange to receive staking rewards. You don't need separate wallet.

Stratis has low stake rewards but is a coin with a great future aswell.

Spectrecoin also gets my vote.

SpectreCoin has Proof of Staking, and there's no minimum required. The larger the amount you're staking with the more likely it is you'll receive a stake reward (about 5% of the total amount of XSPEC per year, if I remember correctly). It's a great privacy coin and is grossly undervalued compared to other privacy coins, especially once you account for the high quality privacy technology in XSPEC. In an upcoming update stake rewards will given using stealth addresses, making staking even more private.

I have to agree with the Spectrecoin discussion. For the tech that is being currently developed it is heavily undervalued. You can gain staking rewards and with the newer versions set to come you can stealth stake, a new feature never seen before in private coins. I bought it around 0.58 just a week ago and now its maintaining steady above 1.30. The Bitcoin crash a few days ago didn't seem to affect the value too greatly, I think most of the people that are invested in it are in for the long haul after discussion with the dev team. You can join the slack and message the team for more information. This coin is very much worth atleast researching if you're not looking to buy!

Low supply and low market cap, completely undervalued with some amazing tech.
A good portion of coins don't even have their PoS running. Spectre is doing 5% annually which is pretty good return for just staking.

I just checked out beuthereum but I don't really see that as a niche that needs to be filled. I think the evaluation for $570 USD within 6 months to me seems crazy. I don't feel like it offers anything unique to the table in any aspect other then its supposed to be used to pay contractors... Is there anything even any ground breaking technology being worked on? I don't see why any other coin can't just do what beuthereum is doing.

Ada also hasn't added staking yet and I'm not sure about the rates but that might not be too bad when it does allow staking. The only thing is there are like alot of ADA in circulation so I'm not sure how high they can really push the market cap.

We are working on staking as well and we will be offering 7% annually just for staking. So the target of $570 we have set as milestone and we are sure that Beuthereum will achieve that milestone. I am trying to convince my friends to buy some, cause it is ridiculous how cheap this coin is compared to the underlying tech (which is really superior to many other privacy coins). I know people will not believe me at first instance, but XSPEC has the best written code for any privacy coin, period. The TOR + OSBF4, the fast transactions, the PoS (which gets you Xspec rewarded while having the wallet opened, which costs very low energy), the very professional team, etc etc. It is really surprising how many coins get attention, while this gem is being looked over. One of the best coins to buy for 2018, you will thank me later!

Expansethe first Eth fork and their marketcap is only 38 million.
They have a very active team with bi weekly updates. The tech is impressive as well, they created the DAO which Eth itself failed to make. They're a blockchain based on transparency, honesty, and integrity. I see them doing very well in 2018, possibly $50-$100 per coin.

Expanse - Tokenlab & ICO's The Catalyst of Mooning

I am very bullish on Expanse and believe in the Community, The team, and ofcourse the blockchain. I feel they belong among the top Eth forks because of the tech and the consistent improvements and innovations. I believe the release of Tokenlab and launching ICOs on the Expanse blockchain could be the Catalyst that shoots expanse up to where it belongs. Tokenlab I believe will be an extremely profitable investment which makes investors and the community want to talk about Tokenlab and Expanse promoting the blockchain building massive hype.
Then each succesful ICO on the bockchain will continue to increase the community size and hype. Similar to how Eth grew in price and size.

I'm a huge fan of smartcash. It's possible to run a masternode now. Way under-rated. Good community.

Another great staking coin people should look into and that is Ignition coin (IC) masternodes are implemented already and its a POW/POS hybrid with a current fixed stake reward at 1.7 coins which is very good if you stake often. Low supply of just 5 million coins max over 50 years so it makes this coin very rare compared to other staking coins out there. A masternode will set you back 3k IC coins but if you can't afford that then the staking is the next best thing or if you like to mine you can do that too.

I would say that DeepOnion is much profitable to stake and a lot of ongoing update is happening right now.

You can visit the official forum for more updates. 10% annually is huge rather than XSPEC which can only give you 5%, be practical in which can earn you much better.

I agree with you, IC is a great coin- and it has big potential because of the limited supply.
There is another option if you don't have enough money to own a masternod though. You could just buy 50 IC or more and join a masternode of a shared masternode service to receive a portion of the income of the masternode. ( stakeunited offers this kind of service for example)

Komodo is a good proof of stake coin. Their team works well, they have decentralised ICOs, decentralised exchange: BarterDex with a combined privacy and smart contract platform specialities.

If you keep your KMD coins in wallet you get 5% interest. I think this is fine

KMD coins are the best option after all, Phore is a good one and it is a privacity coin too.
If i am not wrong, Deeponion is a Proof of stake token too (I AM NOT SURE) But that is what i read before

NEM is probably not bad, it's a must to pay attention to that coin. I guess that ETH may be the next PoS bomb coin.

If you are looking for good profit in the future you must first look at the MarketCap and Total number of coins. A coin with large coin supply (billions) can't grow very much in the future, not even 1$.
My choice: Masari.
It's a Monero fork, good relationshionship with Monero, only 18.5 millions total coin supply and it's still early, only 11000 sats on SouthXchange and Tradeogre.
If you count that Masari uses a weighted harmonic mean difficulty adjustment algorithm for smoother difficulty adjustment, fantastic dev which has been PR'd back to Monero you already have a kick-ass coin. It also has only ever used RingCT, has a fixed ring size of 13, and they plan on adding uncle mining and researching block tree sharding.
Fork and rebase with a lot of new features took place on 1 may with no issues.

You should definetly keep an eye on PivX. It's not cheap to set up a Masternode ($55,003 at the time of writing) but if you can spend that money its worth it even if just for the sake of passive income. PivX is a Dash fork with many added features and upgrades (Zerocoin protocol, zPoS, SwiftTX just to name a few). The next DASH in my personal opinion are:
1. Nullex (NLX)
2. Stellite (XTL)
3. Stashpay (STP)
All three are privacy-focused cryptos. Nullex is integrating Zerocoin into its Null protocol for a completely private ecosystem. Stellite is trying to do Monero better than Monero could and is off to a headstart, while Stashpay will be releasing its blockchain in Q3 which will include mobile masternode systems

Most known pos altcoins does not have a very good long term performance in the market compared to pow coins, probably because it is not as safe compared to pow tech.

I'd put here ETH. If the PoS system will be applied (as the rumors say), we may see crazy price jump, just imagine, what will happen if ETH won't be minable anymore.

I don't understand why no one mentioned here Minex - MNX ? It have best interest rates 70% per year, 5.8 per month for staking in minexbank. Much more easy than setting up a masternode, and you can stake-park any amount of coins in bank 0.1 or 1000 mnx it doesnt matter interest rate are the same! Im interested in this kind of coins, that don't have limits and dont need setting up a f. masternode! If there are some new ones, not those already mentioned here write about them please!
