Hi, bittawm you aren't a newbie, you are a professional miner and you must knows that asic value is determined by the ROI time. Acceptable ROI time is max 2 months for asic machines. If you look at the rendiment of all the algo you see that x11 is main algo the others are only dust mining. So what is the right price for you. Before you answare look at your old posts... be coerent.
I love baikal miner, but is crezy buy this miner at price higher $1.00/Ghs, its only a math calc.

I remember at the time just weeks ago all of us were into group buying new BAIKAL miners ( Cube and Quad Cube ) and BAIKAL just ignoring us like we are some jerks, now they need us to group buy there failing product.

I see value in other algorithms, that is why baikals are so appealing.

2 months is very very FAST ROI, I dont expect 2 month ROI. I have been mining for a long time where ROI is much longer.

Too many miners are coming out in a month. I dont think with the rising difficulty this will hold good for any more period than 2 months. So basically after 2 months this will be pretty much worthless

Based on Bitmains D3 at $2699 and cracking along at 15Ghz

$2699 / 15 GHz = $179.93 per GHz

So  179.93 x (Baikals 2GHz) means the Baikal price should be $359 per unit if you ignore power and algo differences

Getting the Baikals early doesnt outrun the price difference if you have to wait for the Bitmain D3


Looked at the Innosilicon A5, they claim they are not able to track the Bitcoin price to be able to ask for the correct BTC that equals the $10000 they want at the time of order. Really !

They also have a shared payment bitcoin address, very risky.

I'm a dumbshit programmer and even I have managed to offer a floating BTC value for a fixed dollar amount and can generate a new bitcoin address on the fly in my online payments.
How can they be so useless ?

I'd say this is a multi-algo play. Giant plus is the only new asic that can mine x13 x14 x15 quark and qubit. I'd recommend researching these other algos (and their corresponding coins) to see if that advantage is worth the reduced hashrate.

Diversity may be important in this brave new world of x11 Asics...

I too will buy at 2k because 4k is ridiculously higher keeping in view they will be shipping '1 week after payment' so practically 10 to 15 days to arrive after order.

Obviously there's a interest at the $2k range, I don't think you will have problems filling even a 200 pieces minimum. So, it's up to Baikal to sell them at this price and take whats offered or they could mine until the next gen monsters come out. Nobody is paying $4k for this at this time.

Agreed. I would be interested in 1-2 at $2k. Note that the picture of profitability on the first page of this thread shows about 80% X11 mining.

Once all the new X11 ASICs hit the market, difficulty for X11 will obviously skyrocket, so Baikal miners will be restricted to the other algos, which seem (at least at the moment) less profitable than X11

I think the point is everyone still says they will only get 1 or 2 @ $2K. If it was a steal people would be ordering 10....

Anyone buying this unit knows that it will not be great for X11 when the other faster ASICS come out.

Its good to know that finally Baikal reduced the price from unrealistic $7000 to $4000 but we miners can convince Baikal that we will buy only if you reduce price to $1500 to $2000 or maximum $2500 because this will mean ROI period of 2 months theoretically and practically it could be 2 to 4 months depending on other manufacturers shipping out their products.

If Baikal agree we can use any trusted member of forum to initiate group buy or everyone can purchase from Baikal directly

Its time that ASIC companies start realizing that miners will only accept pricing which means 1(ideally) to 2 months(maximum) ROI period (and yes that ROI period is based on its capability of algorithms other than X11 and if you plan to do X11 only i don't recommend buying it even for this price)

In my opinion It's not realistic to get these miners any less then the price stated in this group buy. I have now finally committed myself to buy 7 of these miners from this gruop buy and waiting for this group buy to close and after that I will pay to bittawan. He is a trusted member and have arranges several gruop buys. Again It's futile to expect to get these miners any way near to 2k or even 3k range.

One more thing that all the online calculators profitability is going to be significantly reduced by atleast 50% thus doubling the ROI period from 4 to 8 months atleast (12 months to be on safer side) at the price of $4000 as advertised by Baikal

Baikal have below options now:-

1. Sell for $4000 get low # of sales and use the unsold units for mining themselves

2. Sell for $2000 to $2500 and get all units sold out and start working on a new model with hope that they get huge capacity and reasonable price.

On more thing Bitmain is expected to open pre-orders for D3 once again anytime near first or second week of August. So who buys 2Ghs when 15 GHs is cheaper then it?

If you can mine DGB with D3 than go ahead.
BAIKAL also mine X13,X14,X15, Qubit and Quark. So even though it's ROI is long but you can mine with it for a long time. With different Algos.
These 2GHz will go for long.
Whereas these D3 and Ibelink miners have a profitable mining life of max 6 months.

At least for a small time home miner like me. ROI is 3 months max. By the way Electricity is included in my Rent with 2kwh limit. So these miners are good  for me.
May be for Data Center Miners its different story.

Well the values of coins of other coins may increase because of these baikal miners switching to other algos.

Possible, but doubtful. Most X13, X15 etc coins are small, and most baikal miners will not bother mining individual coins, but rather use nicehash or some other auto algo switcher that converts minings to BTC. The increased sell pressure from this will bring the value of small coins down very quickly.

Dash will definitely be dead, along with any other x11 shitcoin. The other algos will last a lot longer.

All this happens in real time.

If you adopt any of the logic above, you would not have bought any of the original Baikals either.

So you should sit on your money and miss the next opportunity. ;D

No, because when the original baikals came out there were no massive X11 miners from other companies, and no massive chunk of other algo miners from baikal.

Isn't it more expensive to purchase Baikal than A5 of innosilicon or the new DASHmaster by bitmain which have both double-digit GiGaHash rates.

They sold this only to their friends in China and burned the west. Now they are desperately trying to unload and prices are tumbling. I'll buy some at rock bottom prices at a loss to Baikal. I'm not worried, they will keep tumbling in price.

Here is the bigger problem with Baikal. They do not understand the value of a satisfied customer. Bitmain knows when they sell a product it will product positive return.

Baikal doesn't care if their customers are successful. They are really digging them self a hole trying to maximize their profits and not thinking about their customers. I'm done dealing with them. They'll be selling these on ebay with no buyers before they know it.

I agree that I think it is only worth 2500 seeing as how in a few months it will be much more difficult to mine with these x11. At least you can change to a different algorithm though. I was just wondering if the OP had ever placed the order or not because I'm ready to order one. I may order more than one.

Someone on this thread, explain to me why you think these are worth 2k or more? In a month or two, you will not be able to mine ANY X11 coins, they will all be dominated by other ASICs. That leaves Qubit, a nearly dead coin and Digibyte. You can mine Digibyte on Qubit hash but there is only 1 pool with 35 miners. It is like Myriad so you have to compete with 5 algos. You don't have a lot of options with this miner, Baikal is full of shit.

This is not only X11, baikal has other options that you can still make money.. DGB for example at current rates would bring  around 1500 usd per month.
People only think of Dash, there are tons of options you can mine especially with these baikal machines..

No, you cannot mine ANY X11 with Baikal, you will be driven out. I just said Digibytes, all the Baikal owners will be mining them so you will have a huge surge in difficulty. You are spending 2k on something that will never ROI. There are not Tons of options. There is 1 option, Digibytes. No other living coins on all of those algos. Name tham? Qubit? Nearly dead. Name these tons of coins.


Oh and the current estimate for DGB on Quibit with 2k Mh is 9k a year, not 1.5k a month. That will not last long, this thing won't ROI in 12 months.

DGB (Qubit) without electricity cost roundabout $870 at the moment.
But with more miners the profit will go down.

Baikal are ready to ship and mine.

D3 won't ship until late september, A5 October, there will be time to ROI most of it before them.
Most people that bought baikal were mining dash. I've made more money mining DGB, MUE and here and there using nicehash.

I got ROI on all my baikals in less than 2 months.

That was two months ago, you aren't going to put a dent in that $3200 in the 5-6 weeks left before the D3 ships. Dash difficulty is already spiking, that means testing is live on lots of units. People will head to DGB right away. It's already started and going to get worse. I'm saying you should save this $3200 and buy 3 of these in a week when Baikal gets desperate.

A few months back, any miner ROI was no minimum than 6-7 months.
When baikal started with the a900 their ROI at the time was 4-5 months which was the lowest ROI of any miners

Hi, look at the historical data of all algo except X11 and you can see that are only dust, DGB is now pumped up artificially, 4 months ago was 1/3 of actual price with volume nearly to zero, the other coin minimally interesting  is QUARK but is worst then DGB.

Not sure about the L3+, that's a Litecoin miner, isn't it? D3 is the best deal. Bitmain tends to dominate the market, but the first round of September shipments are sold out. They are cheaper and a lot more hash per dollar but much higher power usage. The A5 ships in October maybe. It will cost a lot, like $10k but if they deliver on their promises it can be profitable. Much less power consumption as well. If they can overclock to 38k mh like they claim without too much power draw, they may be only slightly less good than buying four D3.

Yea its a Litecoin miner, I was considering buying it as well seeing as it seems to be popular in the Litecoin market. So do you think it is possible that if I pay attention to be able to get the next batch of D3's fairly cheap? What I mean is that the resellers are marking up their 1st batch of D3's because apparently they will be able to dominate the market for the first few weeks and make extra $$$. I saw the current D3's (preorder) are selling from 6-10k. But if I wait and catch Bitmain just right I can purchase my own for their advertised $2699 a piece. Any suggestions on the best course of action? I heard that if you purchase the D3 it is better to pay with LTC or BTC than it is with bank transfer. This is probably the wrong thread to be bringing all of this up lol

LTC is the fastest and they ship in the order they were paid. Email support and get on the email list. That's how I got mine.

Baikal is going to alienate their customers. They do not understand the value of their customers making a profit. Potential payback of an ASIC machine is way different than a GPU which holds value after.

I am in contacts with them and lower my max price daily.

The other thing Bitmain has learned is they can not own the entire network and have to spread the hash.


I think Baikal is going to finally accept a decent price and immediately release a 5GH version and totally screw the people they just sold to. I do not trust Baikal at all.

Hard to compare the beginning of bitcoin to now though, bitcoin has matured, there are hundreds of altcoins around... Yeah, you might make a profit by mining a small altcoin that explodes in value, but chances for that are pretty slim...

They will not move on price. Lowest they offered was $2850. Still way too much. ROC is 100 days at todays rates. Guess it would be 225+ days if it ever happened. They are actually just making the few people who want their products upset with them.

D3 being difficult to get won't make Baikal miners profitable. It's still a waste of money above maybe $1k max.

Well  I will not be mining DASH or DGB or Nicehash. I'll be mining my secret coin and I have 2KWH max of electricity free and included in my Rent. So I have no issue for ROI. And I know I can mine with these miners for at least 2 years with different algos and coins. I am a Horder.

There's not much outside of X11 to mine. Most of the coins on those other algos are dead.

So how much of your secret coin could you buy for $3000, or whatever price you paid for the Giant+? Yes, you can mine small coins and hope they blow up, but why do that if you can just buy the coins?

Well if noxX secret coin is onion (like in your signature) then they can't buy it at all, at least on exchanges ;) but that is always the question.  I bought a Baikal cube 150 m/h in order to mine dash for like 65 dash @ like $8. It very quickly went up to $100 after that I was sooo pissed, never to see a ROI on it (however i have definitely mined > $500 of dash with it since if you just look at it in fiat). When i first bought it, I was also exploring the other coins I could mine however, and i mined and discovered Stratis in the last part of it's POW stage.  That ultimately led to things working out quite nicely.

What new coins will come out on one of the Algos that you might not notice otherwise? I kind of see small operation mining as a different way of diversifying and a point of discovery.  That being said, if you don't have the space to deal with the noise, it's hardly worth it monetarily.  Baikal does have some value because of algo switching, that is the nice thing about GPU mining isn't it? I don't GPU mine, but i was thinking of setting up a small rig, and between a multi-algo ASIC and a GPU, should be able to discover some nice projects.

Ultimately i don't know how much life POW has left really. POS and other security models are proving themselves and evolving all over the place. POW is outdated, and i imagine will only continue to exist in niche. Ultimately huge waste of resources if security can be found other ways.

POS has not proven itself, a blockchain without hash power isn't a blockchain. POW is far from outdated. When we start seeing POS start being useful then maybe but seems to me a gimmick at best.

I have troubles with Giants+ received from Baikal this week.
All 10 units were slightly used (visible dust on fans), 3 controllers are not working (probably bad disk image on microSD), one hasboard has 15% HW errors.
On the invoice there was not information that price was incl. shipping, so customs office charged me more VAT tax (they increased value for shipping costs)

That probably means Baikal were mining with the Giant+ before selling them once profitability got too low. Pretty scummy, but not really surprising...

Once the price comes down some more I would be willing to pickup 1 of these.  The price of the other algo's have been falling hard so throw a bunch of these into the mix and profitability could vanish pretty quick.  So I am not willing to risk a lot of money on these.  The Giant+ becomes a toy now that the DM22G, A5, D3 are all going to be crushing X11.  I don't see anyone making any money in X11 probably by the end of the year.

Start talking a sub $2k price around $1800-$1900 and I might be willing to pick 1 up.  Baikal mining these should not surprise anyone.  I have gotten Bitmain units that were clearly being used before I got them. 

But the report of getting units and having issues that cannot be tolerated.  Baikal needs to step up and get those units fixed. Please keep us posted on your interactions getting the miners fixed. 

If they don't resolve your issues then we need to just avoid Baikal if they are going to turn this into a dumping ground.

I am pretty certain that these will fall down so hard. If Baikal can figure out how to add additional algos, D3 and D5 will sure too in a few days max. In that case , these miners will be left as expensive and power hungry toys. I cant seem to pull trigger at all at these prices. Sub $1.5K is what I am looking for . Otherwise its not worth it

I doubt Baikal would announce anything new right now and I'm sure that they wouldn't be willing to confirm it even if they were otherwise they would be shooting themselves in the foot before selling out of their Giant Plus.

In my opinion Baikal is just too late to the party. On nicehash about 60-80% of the profit is generated using X11 algo. The moment D3 and D5 hit the market this chunk of profit will be gone forever.Once can mine other algo's with a hope that one of those will skyrocket but that is no guaranteed ROI. And I bet Baikal has been mining using this equipment and now trying to sell it before D3 comes out. Too many variables. Baikal could have sold more at higher price before but now it seems a bit too difficult to accept such specialized miner at these rates

It's hard to tell cause there is unlimited FUD in crypto space, but if there are reports of miners being dusty and used, make them wait. They are slow to come down on price because they are leveraging the price with mining difficulty, it's pretty simple. Makes economic sense for them as a company, but i'm not gonna buy their old used up toys unless they give me a really good price.

Very bad People on baikal, i ask for buy 4 unit for 10000 usd  a couple of days before this new price and they answer no, so i bought for normal price and now the price is 2500 usd and then dont wanna apply this price to my unit not yet arrived ! Very bad

I believe every ASIC out there will be used to test/mine to make sure people don't receive units dead on arrival.

Some people might assume that the ASIC they buy are new or looks new, because maybe some company just decide to clean it better than others.

If you buy this you're a fool. Baikal excluded you and profited themselves. They sold exclusively to Chinese and mined themselves. Now they see these becoming worthless they are trying to unload ASAP. The price has dropped from $6000 in the last few weeks. If you buy this, you're the reason unethical companies thrive. To exploit fools.

They are currently offering 3200 USD. But that price is just way too high.

On other algo's than X11 you'll have to wait a long time to go ROI. As D3 miners will hit the market all Baikal miners will become obsolete en will probably all jump onto Qubit. Obviously the difficulty will rise on that algo and the payout will become worse.

In august and september you might make 1200 USD if your lucky. And then X11 won't be an option anymore. You'll probably will make 10 USD a day at those algos.

If you're lucky you'll go ROI at 9 months. But chances are, Bitmain is working on firmware to use D3 on other algos as well, and they will be 'testing' that at this point. So be aware this product might never go ROI.

I also left the costs of power out of the equation.

Just my thoughts...

1/ I think that 100 units is too much, as I remember last time it was problem even with 50 units

2/ I still miss info what will be the flat rate shipping and what exchange rate you will use for BTC/USD

3/ I could buy about 10-20 units, but first Baikal has to solve me problems with last shipment to me (bad SD images, high HW errors on some hashboards)

A 90-day warranty is provided starting from the shipping date. All sales are final. Defective machines will be repaired for free under the asicminermarket warranty policy.

If they are selling it for $2600, then that means that their cost is a lot lower, unless they are breaking close to even. They wouldn't sell at a loss. So maybe the $2500 group buy isn't really a discount, lol

That is because the $2500 includes a good profit for the OP. The OP pretty much looks like he just hosts group buys and profits on them all multiple hundred dollars per unit. So you can expect he is probably getting these around $2000 a unit with a 100 unit group buy as 2000 MH is low compared to the DM11 arriving to customers this week. This unit at $2500 you wont see a ROI for a very long time as hundreds of DM11's are going to go into use this month, then hundreds of DM11 and D3's next month.

Dash has already received a 5 TH increase probably since the units finished manufacturing and started testing for the DM11, expect probably around double the current hashrate by the end of September.
