Now a lot of ico altcoin project , do projects that can be trusted . This makes i doubt to participate campaign bounty .
Please tell me friend , how saw projects altcoin can be trusted ?

I would do your due diligence - look at the dev team, problem they are trying to solve with their coin and how they will do so. What's their potential? Market cap potential? How many coins will they be releasing? How? This is great work but it's what you need to do if you want succeed!

That's the main problem for investors. There are projects which looks pretty good from outside but in reality we see scams. Problem is that both, scam and real ico have to look like real and professional. Most scammers have enough skills to make everything perfectly and believe people in their ico.
You can't determine which is real and which is scam, you need to make a lot of research about team, their members and etc

How ? you must check their backgrounf starting from their timeline or previous works if none go start with their CEO and members then to their roadmap and whitepaper. Study their whitepaper if you see a good project then it would might be a good ico .trust your gut instinct but first research their projects .

It is really hard nowadays to distinguish whether an ICO is a scam or not. Yes, you can do your own research, check the dev team who's creating it and check their white paper but all of those can be faked especially now that we have the technology to do it. Investing in an ICO puts you in a huge risk and the thing that you can only do is just put your money that you are willing to lose. You can pray that the ICO that you will choose will not with your money but it is still 50/50. That's the nature of cryptocurrency. You just have to deal with it and be prepared for the worst.

not too easy to find a good one because we cant truly say that it was legit, some ICO do reason to keep that they are not scammer so sometimes there have a big problem but members belief that there has a problem even not.

High reward comes with high risk aka ICO and altcoin. I wouldnt call all of them scam, there are many reasons why ICOs and altcoin might not end of being successful. 90% of the startups FAILS these are no different.

You should read their whitepapers to find out the future of ico that will be developed and how their project works, see how serious dev with his project, whether there is an escrow to secure your investment and see first how the response of others, especially responses that understand the project or you can search for a pro person and ask them for advice with a private message.

Well it depends on the project you are joining. That is why you should know every project you are supporting. If you do not know the theme and the concept behind the project you're supporting then you are doing an immoral work and could lead you not trusting the ico/project.

I think campaign bounty is free way to get coin, it's good but of course, we can see the dev team, manager campaign, and escrow. But sometimes that way only get scam/ dump coin, make stress. But no one knows which one can be trusted, just follow the campaign and face the risk. Do the job and pray the result. Good luck.

This is hard sometimes to choose what ICO are worth investing for. But since money is involved we have to be careful and thorough research their roadmap and whitepaper. And also be updated on their social media account sometimes it will add on the status and updates on their project.

My advice is to be careful where you put your money at.
It's like when you decide to buy shoes, do you like how they look? What they're made of?

Keep in mind that if their project looks so promising that it seems like it would never happen, it probably wouldn't.
The stages before investing should look something like this:

1. Get to know what they offer. Do you think that the project may have future? Are the people going to use it? Do they even need a blockchain?
2. Investigate the team and see if they already participated in different projects, do they have any history in this sphere?
3. See if their product is available for test. Go ahead and test it.
4. Read everything, collect as much information as possible. Whitepaper, Roadmap, Articles from trustworthy sources etc.
5. See if there are any holes in their project if you think that there are some you should trust your guts and stay away or see if they offer a solution.
6. Invest at your own risk and do not believe those Hype comments "This is the future of altcoins, the best project so far. To the moon and beyond..". Take your time and make your own research.
7. If you already decided that you like their project and want to invest, invest as much as you're willing to lose. This way you won't feel bad if the coin just couldn't make it.


Scam coins are all over the market now and you can't trust anything these days. I suggest you to stick with those who have been here for a while and have some awaiting projects. It's more secure that way at least for me. :D

And this is the key fundamental fact about iCOs if you are not sure to do the extensive investigations or rely on some other people analysis intelligently don't bother put your money or get involved any way because since time of the beginning and even till now going into the future, people will continue to lose in ICOs while some others will win in ICOs without any difficulty.

It is not worth losing a bunch of money on something that one has no information on. If people could make a bunch of money just by throwing it around without aiming for anything then there would be a bunch of really rich people right now.

If the right amount of information on the coin is placed within the thread the people that research the coin will be allowed to relay the information to someone else that is looking to invest and the price of the coin will go up, that cycle will continue to grow until there won't be any coins left to trade.

There are some ICO projects that you can doubt but there are projects which are legit operating and does have a very well and legit support. But if you are doubting to participate any bounty campaign of them then just don't join them if it gives you some feeling not to trust them. It's your duty to do some research about the projects that you want to trust.

You have to look at the plan of the project because at this you can you can see the best which are spams and which aren't.

To my mind you start wrongly from your first rule. Investing of money that we can afford to lose means no important profit unless you are a billionare and number of such people is very low. ICO is mostly for normal investors, for people who can risk more than they can't afford to lose.

I do have to disagree with your mind in that case. I am not a billionaire, i invested a few bucks into ICO but i wont invest my life saving on it!! Nothing is stopping normal people from investing into ICOs but dont get carried away if you dont make anything out of it. We are not investing into ICO or startups for our mom and pups 1-5% annual return are we? There are high risks involved cuz we want a lucrative return. My 100$ can turn into 1000$or even 10k? Hei if I lose my 100$ i wont lose my sleep!

On the other hand if you go all in with your saving, you lose all your 100k retirement saving dont come on forum and cry about it. We will get the rule#1 on your face.

In early 2017, I think attending every ICO would get some profits. But now it's a little bit changed. The ICO price is relatively high now. So a good project is the basic.

It is not easy to trust ICOs specially if you do not know the real identity/background of the dev. White papers are not so reliable in my opinion that is why you must only invest what you are willing to lose IF the ICO runs away.

However, these are high risk but high rewards coins if ever you would get some.

yes, rule #1 is the biggest crap i have read on my entire life, "invest only what you can afford to lose"i dont think that anyone wants to lose money, so nobody has money destinated to "lose". when i have some money i dont say that 20% is just to "afford to lose".

Look at what is behind the ICO offered. That is basically part of your due diligence before putting some precious money on the line. Look at the project and the team and the goal and the approach, etc. It is also an indication that it is trusted if the ICO is featured on some leading ICO news and publications.

You should be aware while choosing the ICO's. You can decide the ICO which are legit on the basis of people involved in the team of ICO. There are specific people who you will find on many ICO's who has very good reputation in the market. This is because those people would have already invested into many more ICO's and made them successful. So with this you can have little conclusion done before you can invest. Moreover, try to seek the advices from many of the good personalities on the forum itself.

The main thing on any ICO project it's the team, technology and possible income the features can be different but really important it's the team who created and who developing this coin some projects have the same developers which can be familiar with other ones it help us to compare and already tell if that project would be successful or not. The team is important but whats more important is the project ,sometime we think based on the team and seems not reliable because they are new to this but their project is a very well planned for future use.

ICO or initial coin offering projects are created for gaining or earning stakes or tokens . It can be trusted as long as they respond to your question responsibly and they updating at least every week . There are so many ico projects but you choose what is more realible and trustworthy projects , also be aware for the scams that may take your effort and time but still not responding or not updating their projects. I think there are lots of ico projects that are trustworthy , it is up to you to decide.

It's very easy to see which ICO is trusted. It can be seen from the project program that runs, a good project will make the ICO is a lot of people interested. All the investment funds are stored safely like using a trusted escrow or using another can make the funds of the investor is not lost and hacked.

You really have to dig deeper to each of the team member's background. Looking into the roadmap and the whitepaper tells you whether their project is really possible or not.

My advice is that you do research on a specific project or coin, it would be a great help. Me myself is having a hard time knowing what's good and what's not, so I do research to be able to avoid bad projects and scams. You should also check on how the project started, it's feature, promising results, etc.

The only basis for me to check if the ico is good or not, I think you must check who manage the campaign first? The campaign manager must be old here already and  managed several campaign, or the position must be Member or Up, Because sometimes its hard to believe in the ico if the campaign manager is just a newbie, But not all of course it depends on their project. This was just my basis in choosing the ico, then the volumes must be in progress and the team is active in the campaign.

Thats not right. There are some really good projects out there, projects with a real usecase, where the defs had nothing to do with crypto before. They having their startups and are searching for a way to make the project come true. So they find crypto and make a token for crowdsale.

Yeah i think many ico outside there make investors feel confuse, we must look at background of the team that work in ico project, see the whitepaper and understand very well about roadmap and mission about ico that he made, its difficult to find the trusted ico, and dont forget about campaign manager with good reputation

It's true that many ICO are heading up now a days and it becomes difficult to choose one which is most trustable and of course profitable as well. But there is good way to understand this with the help of ANN discussion. Read carefully what other forum users are saying about an ICO and you can also checkout their projects progress to understand how trustable they could be in the future. Still difficult but it will reduce most of the efforts.

I don't think that we can make direct understanding whether to participate or not in a ICOs because there remain many factors to about the future of the ICOs of coin project because economical support and devlopment team also a big matter for tye future and future problems , If these analysis are better for us to understand then surely we will be able to make descion ownself whether to buy or not any tocken .

There're more and more coins popping up, and before you start to invest certain coin, you should try to find their whitepaper, road map, dev team, and do they have some special or unique feature... try to invest those coins with hot community,big number of participants is a plus,and do they have a plan to exchange on a famous site?

You're definitely wrong on your very first point. Not all of these ICOs can be trusted if they don't mention or atleast explain How're the devs behind their project. Better if they use an escrow from well-known people.
Maybe you said that because you haven't figured out few ICOs which turned out to be scam due to low profile of the devs. But here, in this forum, you can find it yourself by scrolling through ANN thread in the past.

Yes, this is true. Some scam ICOs are really good, that it would actually look legit. Not to discourage you, but I'm just saying so for everyone to become cautious. There are still a lot of good ICOs out there that are legit, and have some potential for investment. We just have to always keep an open eye, watch out for red flags and to never invest money which you can't afford to lose.

Well I have some tips! If you want invest into ICO you can follow them

1. Look at the team, their LinkedIn profiles. Take your time and see if they are legitimate
2.Look at the idea (must be good)
3. Look at the hard cap and amount of tokens they produce (low cap max $50mln)
4. Read the whitepaper (is it well written?)

If everything checks and you like the idea give it a go and invest!

Also look at the team behind that project, check their linkedin profile each other, check the whitepaper, the roadmap an ask anything that weird about the project on the ANN thread. When you find a good answer and all are good then it's good to trust and invest on that project.

You have to research the project itself. Visit their website, follow social media pages, join their slack  and know their developers and supporters. It is hard work, but if you find the right one,  you will have good profit. But even if everything seems good, it is still risk buying ICO or joining their bounty.

Not all ICO are scam, many of them really good project and become successful. Only a few ICOs are scam. Its batter to investigate a bit before investing in an ICO. And if you get a right ICO for investment it will earn you some good profit. Sadly there is no safe way to invest in ICO's, they are still new and rather unregulated. But the best thing you can do is do your homework into the company and make your own judgement as with any investment. I would also pick a project that you are personally interested. If you know the market personally, you are more likely to know what to look for.

For me here are a few signs to look for in a ICO:-

- Strong team - Both in development team and also the CEO's / marketing (no point having a great team to create something, if nobody can advertsie it and push the startup in the right direction.
- Realistic vision - not aiming too high or if they do not reach their target everyone who invested will be disappointed
- Solid whitepaper - Well thought out, shows realistic goals, a strong good vision and a plan of action
- Strong social media presence - A social media that shows they are connected with everyone
- Good customer support - Shows they care, and they have invested time and money into making sure the average investor can ask questions
- Good website - A business who is willing to throw time and effort into a good website are less likely to be a scam
- finite supply - ICO's with no cap can be dangerous and can simply just damage their own coin by releasing more for more investment.
-Market they are getting involved with - Is this a new market? or a dying one? who controls the market?

Finally
- Good concept and catchy name - A good ethos and a name that makes them stand out. Personally i would avoid anything that is something "coin".

I suggest you either visit the company's office launching the ICO or ask a friend who lives in that town to visit it. If you can do that, you can invest in that ICO, or IPO, as a matter of fact.

Otherwise, just stay away, 100% is a scam. Anyone asking you for money needs to be accountable and to respond in front of the law if they mess it up.

I got scammed in 2 ICO's this week alone.

I learned from it and decided to no longer participate in ICO's or their bounties.

Yes indeed since we can just say that an ICO is good if we do see that it is successful but knowing it before specially on choosing up then i would say its really hard to determine which is the right and which is not.This is why we should really do some research it might not be accurate but atleast you do know on where you would able to put your money on not just like on random guessing,you are just gambling with your money if you do on that way.

I believe the best way is by reading ICOs whitepaper and see how well explain the project and if the project is technologically possible. Many ICOs have project too irrelevant to the real world, or too complicated, projects that only Microsoft or Google can do. Be careful because maybe these people believe they can do it, but at the end won't.
Personally I believe best ICOs to invest are those who have a good plan, how to do their project from the beginning and do not promise too complicated things.

I think investing in any ICO is the same as any other type of investment. Everyone is getting caught up with the increasing profits of cryptocurrencies they are not looking into the important things. Personally I look for :-

- A strong team - Doesn't matter how good the altcoin is, without the development team, good marketers or a savvy CEO it won't go far
- A well thought out concept / whitepaper - Because a lot of ICO's are suggesting what they are doing, without actually have done it (raising funds for it) the whitepaper is the main source of where they are going. If it doesn't have strict numbers and realistic targets, then you shouldn't invest.
- Finite coin supply - If they don't have this, then they can just keep pumping out more coins and devaluing it.
- Strong social media presence - Shows they are wanting to communicate with investors rather than just take their money.

I would say for ICO  do your own research, if any doubt don't put your money in, remember there are lots of opportunities, also spread your investment in case of any risk, even hot ICO like aventus might not pull off in the 2nd market so just put in the amount that you are willing to lose

If you invest your funds in ICO, then, of course, you need to familiarize yourself with the appropriate campaign program, look at the team, for what purposes coins are created, in which industry or other field of activity they will work and only then decide. I would trust a project with a solid team (check their profiles), a good product (something that has already been developed and it is not just getting started) and a clear whitepaper.

Search for the projects which has a very good developement team as the team is the most important factor which decides the fate of coin. Always look for projects which are unique and has some working product.

The only way to found a good ICO from a bad one is research and know what to look for. It is the same as any investment. The more you know the better.

For me, and I am not anyone with great experience at all, I tend to look through the white papers and at who is involved with the project/who is backing the project. While it may bot be guaranteed, I feel ICO's which have the backing and support of already established and global FIAT based companies are more likely to deliver on their goals which is what gained the backing in the first place.

If I am entirely honest I have only participated in one ICO so far - a pre ico for a company which I feel has a unique audience and some pretty solid backing.

Lately there are a lot of ICOs, and to be honest i do not like that. I do not say that they are all bad, probably there are some among them that are good and have really good potential. But i must say that i do not trust them. Bitcoin is strongest crypto currency, and there are a few other altcoins that are strong too, in that i do trust. I can tell you, a coin that is pumped to the moon is not a good coin anymore, a new launched coin may not all are bad, some may be the next ethereum who know. ;D

The problem I have with investing in ico's is that whether you invest with btc or eth, btc or eth is most likely to outperform those tokens anyway.

I use the BlockFolio app to track my profit and loss and $ wise it appears as if I made huge profits, but when you view it in btc, most of my ico investments have been far outperformed by btc or eth.

Had I kept the btc, my portfolio would be worth substantially more.

Even the last two I invested with eth, if I had kept the eth, I would have had 3x more in $ terms.

There are many New ICO's these days, and it quite hard to check which is okay. You may check carefully which is the best ICO and which is offer a good project. Though there are many ICO's lately we cannot say it is scam right away, so we should check and investigate which is good.

It's risky to invest in ICO now but that's also how you make a lot of money.  Research about the project and see if it even make sense.  Some project using block-chain for their service but in fact it could've done without so. If you invest in 1 good ICO, you make enough money to make 10 other bad one lol.

There are a whole bunch going on. I prefer to focus on projects that are trying to "disrupt" industries I am familiar with. Some characteristics I look for are (in no particular order):

- Solid team
- Concrete idea with realistic goals (I prefer if it is a product / project that is already out there, but it is important to remember: not every problem can be solved on the blockchain)
- Real world token applicability.

However, even if the ICO fulfills those characteristics, there is no guarantee the project will be successful. It is a risky investment, so I do think there is some luck involved.

Check for listings on known websites like icocountdown, tokenmarket and others. Check for ratings on icorating, icobench and others. Check for press mentions on top media, you name those that you trust. Check for comments on bitcointalk especially those from top ranked members. Most importantly, do your own analysis: study the white paper and the team's background.

I think this is also the question of many others, especially investors. In my opinion, this is not easy because everything in the future is unknowable. The only thing we can do before investing in an ICO is to learn it thoroughly. Their development team should be qualified, trusted by many and experienced. We should also look at the white paper of the ICO project, looking at their route, their development goals. Besides, If it is trusted by many people, it will be better. There are many ICO indeed! But this is not the first time where you will see a whole lots of altcoin been release on a regular basis! It has always been crowded in crypto space. It has become hard to distinguish between the legit ICO's and the ones that are eighter scams or arent worth investing because they have a bad idea that wont work out. Others have good idead, but the ideas have no use case for the blockchain and therefore no use for the tokens.

Those campaigns can be trusted if the manager itself is trusted. But it is hard to tell if it is a legit and successful campaigns or not because a lot of campaigns look much more reliable than those legit itself. But that is my strategy i always look from who is the manager and when they are famous anf trusted then i am gonna join. There are projects which looks pretty good from outside but in reality we see scams. Investing in an ICO puts you in a huge risk and the thing that you can only do is just put your money that you are willing to lose.

Well, this is quite hard to answer. We are on anonymous world, Although they have a LinkedIn account, it seems you can trust anyone. Personally, I can't trust only in one project (ICO). You have to put your investment carefully, and take a profit as soon as possible, before that project becomes scam or the Dev abandoned the project.
