The only possibility of bitcoin cash coming to be an issue to bitcoin is after it successfully beat up ethereum and take the place of ethereum, then bitcoin will now be facing issues with bitcoin cash.

There's no reason for me to get worry, because bitcoin is stil on top of the digital currency in this industry. Like what I said, bitcoin cash is more on hype. I don't see any unique usages and features it has like what bitcoin had right now. Though, all altcoin had their own chance to ovetake bitcoin not bitcoin cash only.

The Core people royally fucked everyone who promised to support SegWit2X by backing out yet again on their promise to support increasing block size.  This is the second time.  So, there will be a fork for sure.  CoreBlockstream just insists they own the blockchain.  I don't think they will get away with the same trick twice.

Bitcoin will soon be 3:

  • Bitcoin Cash
  • Bitcoin Core
  • Bitcoin SegWit2X

bitcoin gain its popularity due to many supports that he gathered from investors and those business which also accept the system i think if bch wants to takeover they need to beat bitcoin from this two main aspects and what i see right now is it will take some time before they can do that and there's
another fork to be expected so who knows what will happen after.

Not worried at all. I don't see how this could be possible. Maybe at the moment seems that bitcoin cash is on the run and that its future looks good but I think this is only short term and it will be over soon. By now bitcoin has become so addopted and accepted even regulated in some countries with infrastructure so something really unexpected and major should happen to change that. Again, I don't see the possibility.

Anything can happen at any time. Although it will take a long time for any coins to over take bitcoin because the popularity of Bitcoin is unprecedented and I find it difficult to believe that any other coin will overtake bitcoin in time to come.

That is really frustrating to the people without a private key wallet they would surely end up selling their bitcoin again because of another Hard Fork but just like I said in my recent post that there are still good thinks we can get from the Hard Fork and we can always see a positive thing with the price of bitcoin right? but yes I am pretty positive with the result of the Activation of Segwit but the other bitcoin that emerged ended up to be just another Altcoins.

It's indeed a possibility, but Bitcoin Cash is an inferior version, technically speaking, and as time goes by it will become increasingly behind, unless they start copying Bitcoin Core's code, which, most likely, they will do. :D

i don't think bitcoin cash is overtaking bitcoin although the chance is wide open but i think it will need a long time before its happen. but if the scenario is prepare bitcoin cash to take bitcoin place and then bitcoin cash is leading altcoin with bitcoin as the main leader, then it could be happen too. everything can be happen in crypto currency world and its just a matter of time and i hope i can see it later.

No it won't happen at all, this rise of Bitcoin is nothing but the flame of a passing Lantern before it's gone for ever, it's a bug filled software, it's centralized and so many lost their Bitcoins trying to get it, I don't think it's really worth having a bcc, it's a alt for me that stole Bitcoins name. I am sure in a few days time it shall be history, there is absolutely no need to worry about it.

It could also be a possibility. However, in my view, I think it has little chance of happening. Bitcoin Cash has reached a market capitalization of more than $ 7 billion in less than 48 hours since its inception, when hard fork from Bitcoin's and became the third-largest hard currency in the world after Ethereum and Bitcoin. Although high value so but to overcome Bitcoin it is a difficult thing. Bitcoin has been around for nearly 10 years, experiencing a lot of variation in value and a great community today. Bitcoin is dominating the electronic money world.

Bitcoin will never be removed from his seat, Bitcoin will  be staying number one though there are still possibilities that bitcoin can still be dethroned by this Bitcoin Cash. It has a lot of features that Satoshi Nakamoto wants and it is really efficient to users and miners. With that reasons, we can tell that it may be number one, but as you have said, not these days.

What is Roger Ver going to do with the remaining unused 8 megabytes?

Long term, no. But we could be travelling a pretty rocky road for the coming weeks and months. Rolling out BCH as an opt-in airdrop was much smarter than the Bitcoin Unlimited route. Now instead of trying to manipulate public opinion, BCH's backers (like Bitmain) can manipulate the markets by pumping the price (and/or dumping BTC's price). And they can manipulate the hash rate, too. It's gonna be a fun few months. Then we have the November fork, too! :P

even if by a miracle bitcoin cash found a chance of growing big, that doesn't change anything about bitcoin! bitcoin will still be bitcoin and as strong.

and that chance will never happen though. BCC is not exactly something that people want.

No. Bitcoin is the current king, even the best altcoin alone can not afford to be able to approach it. I think it will last for several years. Because bitcoin here already has a strong position, be it from the investors and technology they use now.

Even if bitcoin is the current king, there is a possibility of it being overtaken by an altcoin soon but the chance is low. If one altcoin were to overtake it though I believe that bitcoincash doesnt have a chance because it is a bitcoin clone. Since it is a clone there is a high chance of it not overtaking bitcoin but still it would be useful to have atm. It's price now is quite high IMO for a clone to have a high price is a good sign that it will be good for long term too like bitcoin.

Under normal scenario, the chances are quite low. But if something bad happens with Bitcoin, then there can be a chance for BCH. For example, if there is no consensus for the November implementation of 2MB block size, then the exchange rates of BTC can drop. And this could be followed by a rise in exchange rates for Bitcoin Cash.

I mean bitcoin maximalists will say bitcoin is the only thing that matters but we can see from the success of alt coins that bitcoin is not the only game in town.

Persoanlly not looking forward to ongoing success of bitcoin cash because the owners of it are wack. That Roger dude and his miner buddies only act on greed, not on a revolutionary technology. They don't believe in what this technology can do

I'm wondering is it really possible? I mean how much he loses per day if the trading volume of Bitcoin Cash reaches 2 billion sometimes? Not that I'm advocating BCH, but I think it's not only him who is responsible for the pump.

I think there is no way that bitcoin cash does this. Simply if bitcoin cash price goes up, this happens because miners earn more profit by mining bitcoin cash. If it's get more valuable miners will head to bitcoin again. Bitcoin cash has no special feature for itself, it's just a clone of bitcoin. Why should people trust it?

I think no. Bitcoin no one will catch up, even his children. None of the coins has a chance to repeat the success of bitcoin. There may be coins that will be as popular and will have 50-75% of the cost of bitcoin, but this is only in the future.

Most of the coins are owned by people who owned bitcoin pre aug 1st.  I doubt ver has more than a few hundred k Bcash, which is alot yes but its been reported he had 300k bitcoin anyway.  I should imagine a large % of people haven't touched their pre aug 1st bitcoin, probably like 80-90%. We have another potential fork coming also, just sit back and get rich off the forks imo.

Some people have advocated for viewing potential future forks as a kind of dividend payment for holding Bitcoin.
I agree with this sentiment and intend to hold both (or all) chains if another chainsplit is happening in November.

Besides, it is important that you make sure you donīt lose funds in the process of a fork. Some people
have fallen for fake wallets or other scams in the turmoil of the BCH chainsplit.
Make sure you only use legitimate wallets in the case of a chainsplit  ;)

Yes, for me there is a possibility because BitcoinCash can also be a successful as Bitcoin.
In technicality term: The most important difference between the two coins is that Bitcoin Cash allows for faster transaction times by using custom block sizing.
Bitcoin Cash has a block size with an 8-megabyte transaction limit while Bitcoin transactions are limited to 1-megabyte every 10 minutes or more.

In the real world, if Bitcoin Cash value will continue rise up then thats the time Bitcoin inverstor should be worry about what happens next.

Overtaking bitcoin will have to mean a lot of things and efforts to be out into play and this will only happen if the recognition given to bitcoin by supporters such as exchange sites, faucet sites, crypto news sites, financial websites, crypto blogs decides to withdraw their support and then dedicate that to BCC which will be interpreted to those coming in fresh to be the real btc. And if you ask me, the number outside is very much more than those already involved with bitcoin.

In general the blockchain of btc. If BCC could come up with its own blockchain then there is a chance it will get high. Because in terms of features bcc is more reliable. Btc is just on the hype as the most known cryptocurrency in any market be it in the web and even in the physical. Eth on the otherhand is making its own name as a coin also has its own blockchain but as far as i see, its nowhere near btc.

The two biggies are Coinbase and Bitpay. At the moment both only deal in bitcoin.

If they ever enable bitcoincash, then it has a chance, especially as the big blocks mean transactions always get picked up at a low fee.

I'm guessing that Bitmain can. Someone paid dearly for years spamming the BTC network, to promote the cause of larger blocks I'm sure. I think that's why, during the BIP91 drama, the spam stopped and mempools were empty. At that point, it was better for Bitmain to support the status quo and give the appearance that Segwit wasn't necessary.

Roger Ver is just a sideshow here. His and Bitpay's interests pale in comparison to Bitmain's, in regards to AsicBoost. I think Bitmain's investors put in obscene amounts of money, and AsicBoost is world-changing for them.

I'm a bit worried about the November fork. If the NYA miners all changed to Segwit2x in November (we're talking about 85-90% of the hashrate), then the original Bitcoin blockchain will have a hard time to produce enough blocks to store the transactions. In this case, we could have the following effects in parallel:

- people panic because of 2-5 hour block times and the "originalCoreBitcoin" (OCBTC) crashes hard.
- Segwit2x gets some traction but not enough to overpass OCBTC.

Let's say that both will have a price of about 1300-1800 USD (between the 2013 ATH and the begin of the "bubble phase" in 2017).

In this scenario BCH could be the "laughing third": It has already proven that it can go near $1000, and maybe some will then jump to it as a hedge. I don't think Bitcoin Cash would go over ~$2500 in short time, but it could be just enough to "beat" BTC.

But as @olushakes correctly said, we'll know the outcome only when the Bitcoin enterprises have decided whom to support. If BCH captures a large part of the ecosystem then it could have good chances.

This is only a bearish scenario which is possible, but not guaranteed to happen. I think it has a probability or 10-30% to happen. Bitcoin Core devs can avoid it if they re-open a dialogue with Segwit2x supporters and plan a hard fork for 2018.

Honestly I still do not see the real use of bitcoin cash.
8MB blocks are a fine thing, unfortunatelly they are all nearly empty.
I think of Bitcoin Cash more as a temporary fashion.
BTC and BCH will turn out to be something like ETH and ETC most likely.

BCH has a long way to go before it can really compete with BTC. The sheer strength of the bitcoin name/brand, which has been built in the past couple years, can only be overtaken in terms of user adoption if BCH has something new and unique in the eyes of users.... I don't see that coming. Of course, miner's perspective can be a whole other story, but in my view the users determine the value in the end.

We'll see how far it will happen, whether bitcoin will be as easy as it will be taken over by others.

It depends on what philosophy (scaling on-chain vs scaling off-chain) gains more support by the community, we'll se how it develops.  I think it is possible for Bitcoin Cash to overtake Bitcoin Core, but I'm not worried about it since I'm not against the idea of having a Bitcoin with bigger blocks.

There is no altcoin does stand a chance against btc, not before, not now, not in the future. Btc is more matured, trusted by many, well known, being used for how many years and the father of all coin. How many altcoin has been made and tried to overtake btc, a lot but they never had a chance to come close on where is btc now, on what btc has achieved.

I agree, bitcoin is the best and will always be. As far as I know, only one coin, Zcash initially was above BTC in price but that lasted only couple of days, right now Zcash is 0.059 BTC.

I think Bitcoin Cash will end up at 0.1 BTC and will stay at around that price in the future.

No because people know bitcoin cash due to bitcoin. If bitcoin fail or out of track no chance for bitcoin cash.
One thing is sure there is huge crypto market, some other project may overtake bitcoin.

of course there is a chance, Bitcoin splits into BTC Segwit, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Segwitx2...then more likely forking on the way because forking is uncontrollable and forking if profitable (just add BTC and BCH now and you can see the instant profits)...you can imagine at the end of the road, they could be called Bitcoin Pieces...

If Bitcoin Cash ever overtakes Bitcoin, it will be quite surprising. But the volatility of BCC is amazing. For a moment it might cross BTC some day

If we are talking about the possibility of it to be happening, the answer is somehow yes. As long as they have the solutions that are lacking in BTC right now, it can really happen. But I think that would be very bad for the cryptomarket. If that flipping did indeed push through, many people will lose faith to cryptocurrency itself as they are seeing BTC as the only "king" of the market. No one knows what will happen in the future but as of the moment, I'm just seeing Bitcoin cash as an altcoin which is very susceptible to pump and dump.

Each altcoin has an opportunity to overtake the bitcoin, more exactly overtake bitcoin market cap.
but it's hard to overtake bitcoin, because support for bitcoin is so strong
The opportunities are there but it is not easy to overtake bitcoin. and not all altcoins have this chance only the reputed coins will have this chance and they maybe overtake like ETH. Bitcoin cash is just a toy to make money in trading. it will not stand many days and people also only support Bitcoin, no one will support Bitcoin cash.

It's basically all the famous digital currencies have the opportunity to gain huge profits to outpace bitcoin, but one thing that does help us to earn a lot of profit is that we have to work hard, never give up, and always try. Nothing is more profitable than those 3 things, although the price is high but we can not play well then everything will be destroyed.Bitcoin cash is just the latest cryptocurrency and it's still very early to predict that it will beat the bitcoin. Because everything can sometimes turn around, so enjoy all the things we are getting and keep trying

No, because it is a coin created by miners for miners. The normal investor will end up as an bagholder.

But it is really easy to trade because of that issues. Have a look at the following link: https://twitter.com/oleganza/status/899727482634461185

Overtaking Bitcoin like how by replacing it's name with it? whatever you China men are smoking is pretty good, first you double your Bitcoins and then use shill accounts to shill the fack out of this forum and when you see that your alt coin is dying a painful death you turn to increasing your activities on several boards talking about something which will never have any chance to survive in the long run? you couldn't even hold $800 for 3 days, people just dumping on you when price goes up.

"overtake" has a broad meaning in my opinion.

as far as usage and adoption as a real currency goes i can not see bitcoin cash doing anything. no business has backed them, there were always a small group of miners who forked it and then when it became profitable other miners jumped in and they will leave just as fast as soon as it becomes less profitable!

speaking of price, in lower levels it is all manipulation and pump and dump. it is done easily and you can see it in many altcoins out there. but after some numbers like above $1000, things change. it become a lot harder to proceed. pumping becomes impossible and at that point you need real adoption to maintain the price and as i said without any usage it won't last a minute.

it wont overtake Bitcoin unless bitcoin get hack.

and they maybe good in future or bad.
you can't say it now . that he can overtake it
but in range in this year its probably 1500$ to 2000$ .

nope, but there is a possibility to overtake ethereum. Before bitcoin cash i'm worried too about this coin, is this really strong coin that they said can beat bitcoin cause better system with making the block larger for faster transactions, but as you can see there is nothing to worried about.

One thing i love from this coin is their roller coaster, it's really cool mate, first you dragged up to the sky and then they make your heart pumped LOL

ETH is a strong coin, but there is no big movement in price. After hitting $200+ increment in a single shot, it is stable in that place. So to overtake Bitcoin it needs min number of years. And that time i am not sure what is the Bitcoin price. It may go like a skyrocket. But BCH can overtake BTC price. This is not a famous coin, but it has the potentiality to hit big amount in short time. It will not stable in high price, but it may cross the BTC price.

The possibility is always there. As of now, I am still sticking with bitcoin and I hope bitcoin will remain the one and only king of the crypto empire. If time will come that it is finally proven that Bitcoin Cash is much better than bitcoin then there is nothing to worry about. We choose what is best for us.

i think that the bitcoin will be top of the list for a long long time. Even if bitcoin cash contains BTC in its name, there is no chance to overtake bitcoin.
But if we talk about other coins, there are a few strong altcoins which are already manifest itselfs. thats my opinion.

What you forgot to mention is that Bitcoin is a she and not he, only Satoshi was a he which I doubt if he had any balls he would've showed up at least once unless he's really dead. put this to your skulls people, where is Bitcoin right now? it wont matter who is controlling it and why, what matters is that BTC is BTC and other coins are other coins. you can't magically move the majority to another chain and when it becomes the longer chain then start calling it BTC you can't do that,

Although the majority now hold the opinion that the altcoyins are now much stronger, depend little on the bitcoin course, however, it is unlikely that they will be able to bypass bitcoin. In any case, in the near future. For bitcoin is not only a good team, but also the authority of the leader of the crypto currency, significant support of the community. Altkoinam in this regard should really try hard.

What are you talking about? Even 8MB blocks got full in the BCH blockchain. And if a system is capable of handling high volumes, its peak capacity should be high. 8MB blocks achieve that.

i think yes, although anything can happen, but too me i think that bitcoin is still the strongest currency all the crypto world , in fact it has as strong support from the community as they have fully trust on bitcoin and therefore they are still investing money in bitcoin. therefore i cannot see any single altcoin which can overcome bitcoin.

I think there are good chances that a significant portion of Bitcoin network hashpower will go to Bitcoin Cash network. Right now it is much more profitable to mine BCH, but if this trend continues the difficulti on BCH will increase and the miners will have to decide which way to go and most of them will definately choose BTC so in the long term i don't think it poses a threat.
Another aspect would be the 8Mb blocks. I may be wrong, but it is not so easy right now to propagate a 8MB block which is full with 8 MB of transactions . I think it would take few seconds to propagate from a peer to another with average internet connection. Not all the people have 100 Mbps link not to mention 1Gbps.

We can't tell since bitcoin cash is not a month old yet. Even in its early stage, it has a potential get near to bitcoin and passed the price of ethereum that started in 2015 while this forked product bitcoin cash just started in august 2017. I can't see that there is a chance overtaking bitcoin. The pioneer of digital currency will be the only one king and it is bitcoin.

Bitcoin Cash over taking bitcoin is not the issue we should worry about as the splitting coin has potential to realize there potential. We must not allow the split to deter us what bitcoin core stand for! Bitcoin core still remain the only decentralized cryptocurrency not like others coins we are see today that we know people that are behind them and most of them are they to enrich their pockets. Therefore we should not worried about the potential of bitcoin core.

Price is important?
In such case 42 coin is one of the best if not the best at over $8000 a piece.

No, it was never 20 BTC. Zcash was 6 BTC max at the very beginning in Oct 29 2016 and the price lasted only several hours. Then in two weeks it went down to 0.21 and right now it's 0.055 BTC.

I think for those who have Bitcoin Cash it is the right time to sell it because 0.156 is a pretty high price for this coin.

It does not make sense actually. When everybody is so full of btc storgae somehow, at least everybody that own bcc through btc they held, why would they try to increase the value of a lower price coin when there is a well working one right now.
