Title: [Trading Bot]... iTrader ... Cryptsy, Mt.Gox, BTC-e, Vircurex & More supported!
Post by: iTrader on June 12, 2013, 01:59:43 AM
Hello!

Announcing the relaunch of iTrader!

I recently stumbled upon an email from webs saying that my original site had been frozen and to get in contact..
I'm still waiting on a response weeks later but nevermind..  :-\ (Apologies for the down time!) - not sure why it was frozen but I'm assuming they don't allow Bitcoin related sites any more & changed their t&c's or something silly?

So since then, I've moved host and decided to get a better domain for my bot!

Click here to check out the new site! :) (http://www.itraderpro.co.uk)

You could! .. or optionally use my program which allows more control and has a few cool little features! :)

- Ideas for v2 are appreciated

So is this P2P or is it simply using BTC-E or mtgox to trade on?  Regardless, cool design :p

Interesting idea, love the concept.

Unfortunately, nothing touches my keys without me reading the source. Unless your program comes with comes with complete source upon purchase that I can compile myself it's a non-starter. I suspect that will be the perspective of most of your potential customers around here.

If you were willing to submit the code privately to me and let me review / compile and post checksums etc - so that the non-technical user have independent confirmation... shoot me a pm so we can talk.

Thanks for the feedback so far everyone! :)
I've been working on my little program for a while now so appreciate all the nice comments!  :D
~ Currently, the source is closed as I've not seen (m)any legit competitors and don't really want to 'compete' with others who have just modified my hard work; but saying that I may sell this as a bundled offer in the future.

You may be better off asking for donations and making the program free though. While I get that it has some neat features (and it's got a cool design), I don't really see any reason that really puts it above the normal exchanges for the majority of people who would be interested.

Thank you for your suggestion and feedback!

I see what you're saying but I hope to implement even more features which give it a more unique edge to it.  I should maybe have held off releasing it until I had added more features but felt it was good to go for v1!  Feel free to post ideas and I'll do my best to implement them!

Thanks for your optimism! You can also create two versions of the program. One with more basic features and one with more detailed ones. This will allow people to get into it and see that they want (or don't) the extra features and make their own decision based on how they are using it as to if they want to make the jump or not.

Hey, I'm new to the forums (hello! :)) but not to crypto's. I've been working on my program which I've called iTrader(pics below) for a while now. It has some pretty cool features such as receive price alerts of coins via email/text(sms) message, you can set up to 20 (10 buy and 10 sell) perimeters, quickly check how the marketplace is doing at the minute and more!

If you would like to purchase iTrader you can directly via the forum (see below) or submit the form on the website (http://itraderpro.webs.com), where you can also find more information about the program! :)

Again, thank you for all the feedback etc. everyone! :)

  ;) Haha, you're awesome!

It just annoys me when I see people ask questions or ask for feedback on a forum; then to never return to the topic! :(
I try to read and consider all suggestions and feedback as I feel thats where alot of big time companies go wrong - they don't listen to what people actually want! & Cheers man! I'll keep that in mind! I've a few ideas which I am not too sure are possible but i'll try and figure that one out on my own for the time being! lol :P

Heh, I run into the same problems with people. I run some sites on my own and I always make it clear that each and every comment and suggestion is read (and I respond to just about all -- other than troll ones). Whether the change is implemented or not depends, but all input I get plays roles in future direction. Sadly it's rare to find people willing to take the time to share the input.

Yeah totally, It can be tedious reading through spam posts to find real 'input' -  glad to find a fellow forumer with such enthusiasm! :) and agree'd! - Obviously not eeeevery suggestion will be added but they all get read and help mould the next release!

in this case, you already lost versus goxtool and some others :P

2 donwsides:
A) winblows, dosnt take much to steal your coins due to extreme bad security, not even talking about the probably missing security of your tool (i bet it saves the keys in plaintext somwhere :P)
B) closed source, you have no references so we can trust your software wont steal the coins.

so either open source it with AGPL/LGPL (so others cant make money with it by using your code @ their projects, cant remember wich one forbids commercial use altough) or post some reference.

PS: keep up with ur product if its legit!

EDIT: a good way to manage these forums is to hit "ignore" on ppls only posting useless things ;)

Well, as a novice to this, it is interesting program that has been created, thank you iTrader.

Very cautious however.

Bursting the bubble - iTrader - iWhat? Too many ! to be legitimate.

Unfortunately, like some, I have learnt that Windows is not the platform to be holding your wallet.  Would be beneficial to implement something that can use a second wallet as the trade wallet, then send confirmed/profit funds to the real wallet.  Or perhaps setup something that can prove sending coin to a secure wallet and not be capable of withdrawing - this would need to be open source code for us suspicious to comb.

Scam.  Too many posts I have read while learning crypto currencies on here, that show of the willingness to scam noobs with "simple" software such as this.  Why would you release this if you are making money trading?  The human race is unforgiving in greed especially with anonymous bystanders.

Again, thank you for your comments and feedback.
I have decided in my next release I will include the source as a packaged bundle.

I understand people's concerns over trust issues but can only leave the decision to you.
On my API set-up help page I have clearly stated don't have 'withdraw' ticked in BTC-e!

& Regarding the name of my bot, - It was simple, easy to remember and fitted perfectly! :)

The sucky part is that sharing the source means others can "crack" and distribute it much easier. But not doing that, I can see the issue people would have with not knowing what the program is truly doing. Talk about a double-edged sword, =S.

Actually - you may not need to release the source to the general public. Why not bring a couple of other developers in and just trust them with the source. I for example would be all about adding a framework for adding multiple exchanges and building an arbitrage mode into the trader.

The other thing you could do potentially do is turn this software into a pay over time subscription based online engine. Maybe the risk would seem less if they had to deposit to an account on a server instead of having unknown code running on their personal machine. Granted you'd have a huge overhead in securing the site and associated costs... but it might be one direction to go.

This would also open up more income I think, since you would earn every month or whatever. Definitely something to look into if you haven't already.

I wasn't and not really planning adding much more after maybe another release where I plan to implement more connectable sites.
I may also try and make a sort of 'socket' where people can add their own plugins if possible for future trading sites but I'm not sure yet.
It has more been a little hobby for personal use that I got carried away with but yeah.. we'll see where it goes! - Again, thank you for all the positive feedback! :)

Well - I know that ever few months we get someone who has a "trading bot" for Windows, has similar pretty screenshots, offers to sell it for about the same price here, always versions it v1, v2, talks about features coming to the next version, and mysteriously a lot of people who had accounts formed around the same day come and say they have used it and it is good.

Not saying this is that - but has any old forum people here tested this out and can confirm it works and does not install a malicious "bot"?

This is another worthy point. Maybe getting a highly respected member of the community to test it out would be a good thing, if one is willing to do it.

I haven't yet had anyone review the bot as everyone seems to be wanting to 'review' it.. *cough* get a free copy? *cough*
I've also now implemented connecting to Mt.Gox in my latest release, (v3) - I have also decided to sell a bundled package including the source for purchase for anyone interested. (see site for details)
- As stated in the help and instructions I have provided, I recommend not having the withdraw box checked.

I've updated the site and look forward to your feedback!

Well good news is we can buy the w/ source bundle... bad news is it's double the price.

I'm debating spending the bitcoin just to check it out. So good move re:potential sales.

Now it just becomes a question of 'when will it support vircurex' ?

My other question is - I assume it supports logging on whatever it does to file in realtime, right?

I should have said "scammed by the earlier trade bots" - 99.9999999% of the Windows based trading bots posted here for sale like yours have been scams, unfortunately.  Only looking for discount due to effort to set-up isolated machine, scan for issues and then report back here.  You are going to break down that wall if someone older here on the forum tests it and reports back that it works, does not steal all your coins and is not a virus.

I understand your concerns if you've previously been scammed by people offering similar products and I thank you for the offer, but I am going to stand my ground at the price I have set and wait for others to recommend it! :)

Would you consider escrow?  Basically payment in escrow until delivery, installation, and verification that the software functions?

I would offer the use of an escrow service but like yourself have had a bad experience  with them in the past so prefer to handle my own transactions now.

As this is in the Newbie forum - I just advise everyone to use escrow, if possible.  I know this seller says no way on it, so you just have to assume the risk that you will get nothing (like the three other currency trading bots that have been posted over the past two or three months) :).  However, this seller has been active - so who knows?

I urge the OP to reconsider their refusal at going thru escrow - it just protects us all (and I know would lead to a sale or two almost instantly as I see there have been no sales so far).

Agreed. I would also suggest the op give the source to a trusted member or 3 for unbias reviews.

All the op needs to do to sell their program is prove to the community that its legit. Once thats done there will be a line up to buy the program.

It is not just the malicious code bit - most (all) of them took money and never produced anything.

Would it really kill you to just give it to a few of the trusted members here? Seriously. It won't cost you anything to do so and once its shown to be legit you'll be rolling in the dough.
You are probably concerned that whomever you give it to will leak it to the community for free. I get that. I wouldn't want that to happen to my work either. The thing is you would know who you gave the program too. Hell you could even add a bit of code in it identifying who got what copy when you give it out so you can tell who may have leaked it on you and then you can take appropriate action against them.

The very fact that you won't do this, or even accept escrow only tells the community that this is a scam and nothing more. You now have made it so you have to prove its a legit program. No one has to prove its a scam. Everyone believes that already. You have to show them that they are wrong.

I am not being negative, or critical I am being logical. I want your program to succeed and I want to use it myself but I won't touch anything like that without someone well known giving it a thumbs up first.

I wouldn't say it's all that drastic... but this forum is known for being cynical. Insisting that a software vendor use escrow is laughable. On the other hand, there are plenty of trusted members or mods who wouldn't mind verifying that your code is clean and works once compiled.

I for example would offer to take your code & binaries... verify that it does what it says (and only that) and then post results (including checksums of the compiled binaries to reassure users who can't read code). Assuming it checks out and is legit... I would then pay your standard rate for the software+source... since I would like a copy of for my personal use.

But if you don't want to use me for that - there are dozens of others who would perform such a service for you.

If I wasn't so new to the forum myself maybe I would have more trust in the escrow's on offer but as I've explained before I've been scammed by escrow's in the past and therefore don't wish to use another. I can see why it may be seen as a scam due to what has happened in the past but still don't wish to share source to prove its legit.  Again I thank everyone for your comments, offers and interest in the bot.

I've said my part now, I don't mind if you choose to hold off buying the bot until then and look forward to doing business with you in the future!

Insisting that a software vendor use escrow is laughable.

My insistence is not due to the fact that this is a software vendor.  It is due to the fact that at least the last three in a row software vendors that offered similar software for similar prices and had similar new members aaying how good it looked took the money and never gave a product (or even proved one existed besides screenshots).  Given that back-drop, I highly disagree that it is laughable.  And I know John K (who is well respected in this forum) would do so.  Plus MANY software development sites enforce a type of escrow prior to releasing payment.

So, I repeat my offer, full price, escrow thru John K and I will report back to all whether it works or there is malware involved.  Can't see the downside here to the developer - he gets paid in full and a respected forum member here handles the escrow, more sales will come if I report it is legit.  Really only reason to worry is that the legit part is absent - hopefully not.

That being said, firefops proposal would also work.

In the alternative - put up an instant checkout system on your site.  Not too hard to do (many vendors out there), including all the ones located here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195991.0

I'm inclined to agree, I don't really see a reason for being resistant to escrow... it's not like we're asking for all orders to be escrowed, just the first one. Sure that's a delay of a week(ish) on the first order. Bid deal, you've already designed the software. The only other reason I could see for this resistance is that if he's actually getting orders already AND has some sort of malicious aspect to his software - that or it's a straight up scam, the software doesn't exist and he's just hoping that he'll get a 1 or 2 btc off his effort through the binary+source sale.

You should consider making this program free, as there are free programs: https://github.com/TobbeLino/GoxTradingBotTobli

that the creator would attest to making tons of BTC by opening up BTC donations!

The interface looks very sleek, but day traders or casual traders are more concerned with functionality--so give them that same functionality but with a cleaner interface, and you'll be the go-to application for casual traders.

I hope this advice helps you. Also, consider posting a link to your software on http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency      http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin     and http://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoin

If I helped, hook me up with a copy. :)

@ iTrader

Am I allowed to share the source code with evaluators in order to determine if this software has any bad code in it?

I see there is a great level of hesitation on spending the 1 bitcoin to get the source. Any chance you can allow me to share the code with a few select folks so they can look over the code carefully? (Yes, I will buy it)

I own several trading bots so it's not like this is the first.

As I've said before I've decided what I will be doing with the bot and that is small time sales, sell a few copies - see what kind of interest it had.
Although I am still planning to add a few more exchanges in the next release and I would prefer if the people who have bought the program keep the source to themselves but obviously I can't stop it from being shared..

If the source code was reviewed by trusted forum members, and confirmed in this thread, then it would make people more confident in using it.

There is already a highly successful trading bot. It's 100% free.

Consider asking for donations. If you product comes with a proven strategy--so you have proof to back it up as in a large sample size of data, then I'm more than certain people will be shipping you twice the amount of BTC than you are getting now.

It might seem silly, but there are plenty of free to play or free to use software/games that gross way more than huge software/game titles that are priced quite high.

Opening up your software will be the best thing you could ever do. Not to mention LTC on gox is likely coming quite soon, and it wouldn't hurt to buy up as many LTC as you can with some fresh new BTC in your wallet.

Just my 2 cents. Cheers!

Update!

v4 Released
(I'm running late for work so I'll update the website later and fill all orders when I'm back home!)

Major Updates:

Re-designed the Connections tab and Added 5 new exchanges! - Cryptsy, Vircurex, CampBX, mcxNOW and Bter

Minor updates:

Corrected the program's icon so they all match.
A few minor GUI changes to implement the new exchanges and varied currencies.

There may be a few bugs with the new exchanges as I don't use each of the currencies but everything seems to working as it should so far!

Enjoy!

I have to say, you added alot of nice features.

Are there any restrictions on what PC it can run on?

I want to test it on my home PC. Then when I am comfortable knowing the bot is set up right, I want to be able to transfer it to a virtual PC on a server so I don't accidentally kill the bot by using the PC for other routine work.

I'm not a fan of apple products, (although I've borrowed their 'famous' i Prefix for my program (lol))  - nor do I own a mac to test it on..
Appreciated if any mac users has report back! :)

Well, it appears that iTrader has gone missing.

He hasn't logged in a very long period of time.

Did anyone actually get the product?  If so, that is an evolution of the scam (before no product was provided).

If so, is it .Net?  We may be able to decompile it.

not inspiring a lot of confidence here, 1 dude has written a review, it was ok, features look reasonable if a bit non trading centred, i.e. buying on a time? ill play lotto/pin the tail on a donkey.

the key part is this, we have virtual machines in both directions windows/linux linux/windows for testing and production of various coded bots, cracking and long iteration algorithms as well as multi api programmable trading engines. these are all open source, have made money than you from me.

none of these guys are messing around asking about your product, they sound genuinely interested. As an aside and an easy carrot, in this day and age, I know some of the good github depositors make more money than a typical software house coder on donations and non-commecial licencing alone. you should join them and open your source under a non-commercial licence. believe me the code of your engine isnt that good or unique, what makes your product different is that it looks good. even the looks of a product isnt going to make us buy it if we have to fork the cash to sandbox test, packet snoop and packet parse on a virtual machine just to verify that you aren't being an idiot and trying to be dodgy.

let us source review, compile it, run it and then provide feedback to you and others before recommending others to pay.

and posting that you got a virus on your pc doesnt help at all.

inb4 scam plaster and locked thread.

and I have no clue how to even begin opening the insides of a program but yeah.. I love iTrader! :D lol

I suppose that no one had ever actually bought the source before now?

Has anyone ever purchased the source?

I have ample sense, I simply took a calculated risk to see if iTrader would give us the source code.

If I were those few people who have (allegedly) purchased the program without the source, I would be weary of running it.

A virus does not make someone incommunicado for 8 days.

Thank you for your vouch blindfaith, much appreciated in a time like this! I've finally got my computer in a semi normal state although the contents of my hard drives were badly scrambled but I am still attempting to put things back together! - If anyone who had previously purchased the program with the source wouldn't mind PM'ing me, and we can hopefully come to an agreement over sending me back the program and I can continue where I left off, pre-virus! I can only apologies for my less than well defended computer and sorry for any inconvenience I have caused! I also apologies for my offline time, I have literally only just got back online!

Would you be interested in trading iTrader and source for a revamped website with a proper domain.
Although iTrader.com is probably taken already though.

itrade.webs.com doesn't inspire confidence IMO

Plus it would be nice if the software was instantly deliverable - say, for example, via using BitInstant.  A lot of core moves the dev could do here to inspire confidence, but for some reason is not.

+1 . I never even allow someone to touch my computer. Allowing Keys on some third party unverified coded application sounds very very insecure. I am still suspicious about the posters who give away FREE BTC by asking "address" .

Maybe some senior poster can shed some light behind the actual motive of these advertisements and offerings.

Why be afraid of people asking for an address?

Click on some blocks. Now you have more known addresses than you can possibly count.

Yes, the scam is probably more likely to work on you if you use a mac. That being said it can work on anyone who sends btc to the OP - even if they don't have a computer.

Well apparently he does not have the time to answer emails nor PM's.

But he does have the time to take out money from the wallet that he accepts payment with.

So, it's official. Scammer. Someone make a scam accusation thread so we can nail the coffin.

Maybe use it on a couple of dummy accounts with a few coins and test it out first...?

Using software from an unknown vendor that can buy and sell automatically on your behalf and you're even considering setting it up to access your full accounts? Bad idea.

Looks like he made a couple fake screenshots, and took peoples money.

If you look at the image on the very first post -- the high is the low, and the low is the high.  He can't even get the highs and lows figured out, and you want him to do something complex like EMA crossovers and such?
