Yes BTG is the same algorithm. Zero and Minexcoin use different variants.

Same result with 375.

Zcash uses equihash200_9. Only Minexcoin uses equihash96_5, you need to point it at a minex mining pool if you want to try this algorithm.

How about hash rate of 1080ti and fee in this version?

Fee has been reduced to 1%.

Nvidia performance for Equihash200/9 (used by Zcash) is rather bad, therefore I have disabled it. At some point I will rewrite the kernel in CUDA for good Nvidia performance.

Testing with an older card for fun (560 Ti) and getting this: "ptxas fatal   : SM version specified by .target is higher than default SM version assumed"

SM version too low? What is the minimum? Tried to mine some MNX.

Optiminer 2.0 is great, but unstable af.

I'm running 6x1060 6GB rig powered by EthOS v1.2.5 (Linux ###### 4.8.17-ethos49 #6 SMP Tue Aug 29 23:24:18 CDT 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux), Nvidia driver version: 384.47
Optiminer 2.0 runs with no errors, the performance is really impressive (equihash96_5), BUT... it works only half an hour max and then HDD led glows red (not blinking), nothing happens, system hanged and unresponsive. So I hit reset, os and the miner loads up... 10-20 minutes and it hangs again...  NO ERRORS, NO NOTHING.. hashrate just drops to zero and then hang occurs. Perhaps my Core2Quad Q9450 cpu is too weak for this miner idk, if so, tell me is there a way to exclude cpu from mining process? Oh and could you please explain --pci-modes there are four, right? which one is best for pcie2.0 system? Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried mxminer on these gpus. But, I was using mxminer2.0 on my windows machine which is i7-6850K (@4.2/3.8gHz AVX)+GTX1080 -> 12 Threads + CUDA (Intensity 128) = 1.4-1.7kSol, yeah, optiminer just creams mxminer. If only it was more stable and less cpu dependent it would be the best miner for equihash96.5

It has to do with SM version being too low. But I am still waiting for the dev to confirm this. I had the same problem with GTX 560 Ti, which works for mining Bitcoin Gold for example with EWBF Cuda Miner 0.3.4b BTG. Of course the hashrate what I get is desperate :)

Minimum SM version is 61 for Nvidia cards. So, only never cards are supported at the moment.

Windows version will take a bit more time, probably in a month.

If you have stability problems please make sure that the cards do not overheat. Try to reduce the mem/core clocks.

All that the CPU does is verify the hash of the found equihash solutions. Because of the extreme solution rate achieved with equihash96/5 on multi-card rigs this by itself uses a significant amount of CPU resources. Higher intensity should reduce CPU usage a bit (fewer opencl calls needed).

I was running stock clocks. Card temps are 40-55c.

I tried that by the way (i 128), didn't help; The miner still hangs the system.

ps: what's the max intensity value accepted by miner? set it to 256 just now, let's see how long will it take before hang.

Update: It seems you were right about increased intensity, not a single hang for 3 hours so far) Thanks a lot!

Update2: hanged after 5h. intensity increased to 384. cpu load is still high (3 cores 100% load) and it's always like that, regardless of solution rate.

I've noticed that the miner consumes continiuesly all avaliable memory and than when it ends, the system hangs.

Good news: I think I have been able to reproduce the problem of increasing memory usage. Do you get a lot of stale shares?

Bad news: Your CPU is likely too slow to fully unleash the mining powers of all your GPUs.

The next version of optiminer will throttle the GPUs when it detects that the CPU cannot validate all the solutions found (there is no point in producing more solutions on the GPUs than the CPU can consume).
Consider upgrading the CPU or mining something else on a subset of the GPUs. You can also try to run 2 instances of the miner with on two sets of GPUs (use -d to specify which ones), this might help if you have more than 2 cores as the miner only uses 2 threads for processing solutions. Also --pci-mode 0 might to not run out of memory with v2.0.

I've noticed that the miner consumes continiuesly all avaliable memory and than when it ends, the system hangs.

I didn't notice no memory leak.

Code:

2.038g RES seems rather high usage. Is that from the beginning like that? What cards? What driver?
I'm running 6x1060 6GB rig powered by EthOS v1.2.5 (Linux ###### 4.8.17-ethos49 #6 SMP Tue Aug 29 23:24:18 CDT 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux), Nvidia driver version: 384.47
CPU is quad core Q9450 running at 2ghz (2.66 stock). I tried oc it a bit, to 3.2ghz.. didn't change anything except higher power consumption.

Yes. Cpu load is like that all the time, right after I run the miner, although rising intensity makes it work longer smh (compared to autodetected -i 128, that works for only 30-45 minutes).. -i 384 lasted 11 and a half hours. I've set to -i 480 now, idk when its gonna hang.

oh and sometimes it says "Concurrent write detected. queueing." in the log. What's that about?

-i 480, 38 minutes...

Is validating shares on CPU really necessary?

ps: it seems --pci-mode 0 solved my crash/hang problem.

Isnīt GTXTitanZ supported, yet?
Iīve got this error: "ptxas fatal   : SM version specified by .target is higher than default SM version assumed"
Is there a way to mine with GTXTitanZ in the future?
The cards are old, but still very good.

Validating is not fully correct. Actually the most work is computing the sha256d of the resulting solution to see if it is below the diff target. This could of course also be done on the GPU. Maybe in a future version. Switching to CUDA for Nvidia cards seems more important.

Makes sense.

One more question: can you please explain what --pci-mode actually does? I have no idea. -h doesn't say much about it, except that I can pick mode 0,1,2 or 3.

It did not help me. The system is constantly frozen after about 5 minutes approx. I have a powerful configuration and the processor is not a problem: ASUS ROG STRIX Z270F GAMING, i7 7700T 2.9 - 3.8 GHz + OC 34%, 32 Gb DDR4 RAM (2 x 16 Gb Corsair 3000 MHz,cl15 ).

Hi.

I'm using this miner but when I run it, I have this message :

./optiminer-equihash: /usr/local/cuda-8.0/targets/x86_64-linux/lib/libOpenCL.so.1: no version information available (required by ./optiminer-equihash)

As this miner is already compiled, do I have to install some dependencies ?

Thanks.

wierd ... i just installed linux then update then aditional drivers (maybe update again?) and run miner, nothing else and it works normaly

this should install openCL:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install ocl-icd-opencl-dev

I will give a try.

I'm not running a standard version but this optimized one for NVidia :

Didn't want to lose time by searching how to install NVidia drivers and other stuff ;)

Unbelievable, I've done all this and again the system freezes. Also, I have a super powerful mining machine. Stable mining is obviously a secret that no one will discover. This is my mine_mnx.sh file:

export GPU_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
export GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=1

  ./optiminer-equihash -s eu.minexpool.nl:3333 -u XBcozpshjc4LMgKQCgbu9fbdw9a1JrYeYY.Minex4 -p 4 --pci-mode 1 -a equihash96_5 -i 256   (--pci-mode 0 me immediately freeze the system  - for minut - 2 )

You can edit your crontab :

$ crontab -e

add this line :

@reboot /path/to/optiminer/shell

Example :

@reboot $HOME/optminer-equihash/mine_zcash.sh

I have problems with cpu load on my multi gpu rigs.
On 8 x 1060 and 8 x 1070 always 100% cpu load, but on 6 x rx 470 no problem

All rigs runing on simpleminingos it is customized Ubuntu 16.04

I spend all my day trying to get stable rig mining and I find one more problem.
optiminer 2.0 little by little use all my RAM, it not matter 4GB or 8GB you have.
When RAM is full mining process stops and system goes to reboot

I'm kind of surprised there isn't a Windows one yet really, the fees from the Windows version would probably dwarf the fees from the Linux version.  Completely worth the effort on the devs part IMO.

You are crazy and lazy asses, askers for Windows version! The only reason why this coin is profitable, that there is no windows miner yet. When it will come, any profit will go off. So stop asking and go install linux (if you really want to mine the coin), it will be more usefull, than waiting for one-click batfiles.

There is actually at least 3 ( ewbf, dstm, excavator ) Windows miners for equihash.  Everyone using this one seems to be getting good performance out of it and most of us Windows guys would like to give it a try.

The coin is profitable right now because crypto currencies are bullish as a whole and there is a BUNCH of high earning potential coins right now.
A Windows version of this miner isn't going to make a major difference to most of the coins out there and the Dev/OP would make a killing in fees.

When ccminer-xevan (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2237852.0) source code was first released the profitability was great but as soon as the Windows binary was posted, network hashrate of all xevan coin jumped 5x+ and GG profit.

Right, but in that case, there wasn't a good xevan miner, here, there is 3 other options already, the network hashrate won't change much if another windows miner is out there.
I'm sure everyone who wants to be mining equihash right now is already doing so, not the case with xevan.

Unless the dev has a HUGE linux farm, he would make more from fees than keeping the nethash a couple percent lower and mining.

Does someone have multi-gpu rigs' memory & cpu - usage problem?
I have problems (equihash96_5) with one of two rigs:

1st rig works fine & stable.
 Its 13 GPU: RX470*10+RX480+RX570*2
 CPU: Celeron G3930 (cpu usage 35-65%) and 8GB of memory

2nd rig works bad & reboot every 30-40 minutes, becouse CPU usage up from 25% to 96% in 30-40min... and then reboot
 Its 7 GPU: 1080Ti*6+1070
 CPU: Celeron G1840 (cpu usage from 25% to 96%) and 8GB of memory
 This rig stable with other miner programs.

I think its not slow-CPU problem, becouse G3930=G1840 and its program optimization problem... or nVidia...

Optiminer, what do you think about it?

cool-bits with any numbers dont work on any of my rigs (yes, in power mizer is shown edit window for clocks, but dont work)

When we can expect a Windows miner?
TY

I read what most people write and only one question: what are you all stupid !! if the miner will also work under windows, then in a few days the profitability of the coin will be at the level of the worst coins (less than $ 1 per video card). want a version for windows - it's vseravno that screaming in the throat: "here's the money - go all here!" ..
there are no words. take earn in linux, as long as there is a possibility. but it will not last long. already in linux in a few weeks the profit will be comparable with windows ..

p.s. because you have no money. because "money likes silence". this is such a proverb.

how to install optiminer 2.0.0 in EthOS:

first stop all miners and prevent their autostart: minestop && disallow
copy & paste the following code into command prompt and hit enter (don't worry it will backup the older version installed); wait a moment for it to complete.
Code:
cd /opt/miners && /
tar czvf optiminer-zcash-v1.7.0.tar.gz /opt/miners/optiminer-zcash && /
rm -r /opt/miners/optiminer-zcash && /
wget https://github.com/Optiminer/OptiminerEquihash/raw/master/optiminer-equihash-2.0.0.tar.gz && tar xfvz /opt/miners/optiminer-equihash-2.0.0.tar.gz -C /opt/miners && /
mv /opt/miners/optiminer-equihash /opt/miners/optiminer-zcash && mv /opt/miners/optiminer-zcash/optiminer-equihash /opt/miners/optiminer-zcash/optiminer-zcash && /
chmod +x /opt/miners/optiminer-zcash/optiminer-zcash && chmod +x /opt/miners/optiminer-zcash/*.sh && /
rm /opt/miners/optiminer-equihash-2.0.0.tar.gz && cd /home/ethos

now you'll need to edit your local.conf (/home/ethos/local.conf); if you have multiple miners defined in there, it should look like this:
Code:
globalminer optiminer-zcash

optiminer-zcash=proxywallet <wallet>.<worker>
optiminer-zcash=proxypool1 eu.minexpool.nl:3333
optiminer-zcash=poolpass1 x
optiminer-zcash=flags -a equihash96_5 --pci-mode 0 -i 192
replace <wallet> with your minexcoin address and <worker> with your worker name, save and exit.
Re-enable autostart of your miner by issuing 'allow' command

That's it.

I'm pretty sure the huge hashrate everyone is talking about is for the _5 algo in this miner and it's more of a situation where the only windows miner for that algo is garbage right now, I haven't even tried this on the base equihash algo yet.

Going from 4Ksol/s with my 6 1070's to 47KSol/s with my 7 480's is a huge leap. Getting about 6.7KSol/s per card.

Please post your MNX address.

When does Windows version release? We are waiting for longtime :(

Optiminer/Equihash is a GPU multi-miner supporting all variants of Equihash used to mine coins:

  • Zcash
  • Bitcoin Gold (-a equihash200_9)
  • Hush
  • Zero
  • Minexcoin
  • Kommodo

Download and more info at https://github.com/Optiminer/OptiminerEquihash

Currently Linux only. Windows release will follow.

Some problems I'd like to see fixed in the next version:

Memory leak until oom_kill_process
Code:
kernel: Out of memory: Kill process 3166 (optiminer-equih) score 879 or sacrifice child
kernel: Killed process 3166 (optiminer-equih) total-vm:93093592kB, anon-rss:180884kB, file-rss:455996kB, shmem-rss:6508120kB

Maxed out CPU usage
Code:
$ uptime
 01:21:04 up  4:21,  2 users,  load average: 6,97, 7,02, 7,30

1080Ti not much faster than my RX 470 with equihash96_5.

Optiminer/Equihash is a GPU multi-miner supporting all variants of Equihash used to mine coins:

  • Zcash
  • Bitcoin Gold (-a equihash200_9)
  • Hush
  • Zero
  • Minexcoin
  • Kommodo

Download and more info at https://github.com/Optiminer/OptiminerEquihash

No problem, bro. Told you I was appreciative of your work. You didn’t have to publish the EthOS code, but you did and for that I’m grateful. That was first day’s payout... owed all to you. Thanks again. Does it work as well on 1070s? May get another copy of EthOS for my nvidia rig if hashrate is about the same. I’m not smart enough to side load Ubuntu and run optiminer on my nvidia rig, but may attempt it.

Mike

Less than others.
On my 1080ti's I don't need to OC memory, but this miner doesn't use the full potential of a 1080ti so you might need to skip this remark.
Just my 2ct. Look at the output ' nvidia-smi' to see if your power is maxed out.
You might need to give them a little more power with 'nvidia-smi -pl 125'

Unoptimized for Nvidia. 1080Ti only performs marginally better than RX 470/480.

Yes, that is what we call being unoptimized. The miner's version is not meant for CUDA (aka NVidia GPUs) therefore some Radeon cards easily outperform GeForce series. If optiminer releases a CUDA version you can expect to get at least 15-20k sol for your 1080Ti.

If we assume RX 480 gets 300 Sol/s and 1080Ti getting 750 Sol/s normally, that is 2.5x so 1080Ti should get ~23k Sol/s.

Version 2.1.0 released!

Please see github for details.
https://github.com/Optiminer/OptiminerEquihash

This version fixes some problems and brings compatibility with more cards.

The next big target will be to rewrite the kernel for CUDA to better support Nvidia cards. This will happen before a first windows release. Why? The experience of OptiminerZero has shown that the current OpenCL solution works very poorly under windows. Therefore, releasing a windows version at the moment would not be much worth and therefore a waste of time.

Happy mining!

That's due to upgrading to compile with gcc 5.4.0. I'll try to provide a static version. You can try updating libstdc++ on ethos meanwhile.

Optiminer for Windows will not bring anything good. Only the number of miners will increase, and profits will go to many more people. This will ruin the profit of all Minex miners. That's why you will not even miner Minex but something else ((if you are normal). It's not clear to me that there are people who know so little about mining.

Optiminer already "ruined" Minexcoin (it's not Minex which is a token); daily profit is substantially below other coins now and is no longer worth mining.

thx for this - 2.0.0 was giving problems (worked for a couple of minutes, then the hash rate dropped, crazy hdd activity), but 2.1.0 works as a charm

also, i'm really encouraging all of you "win version +1's" to find a couple of tutorials, install linux, and run the miner - at least you'll learn something new, profit on the coin. don't be so lazy, dev provided a compiled binary, it's pretty much plug and play, and seriously it's quicker than installing win+drivers+everything else

Totally agree with you. The optimizer only for Linux is not correct, there are no equal production conditions. Although at the moment there is no sense in mining CPU

I agree. 80% of the miners are just a bunch of copy/pasters anyway. They love their money served on a plate, in front of them, with pleasant music playing in the background. The only effort they want to give, is the one reaching the money on a plate. It's sad.

of course that is how things are..people need to get their investments in hardware back as soon as posible...but now with all this crazy crypto world everyone has his place for profits  ;D

You couldn't be more wrong, if it weren't for Optiminer, the best miner available would be for Windows and how would that go over once people started noticing MNX?

Optiminer has allow those willing to run a free and easy to use OS to be ones profiting.

I thank you for your efforts on this Optiminer.

Not sure what you're talking about.  Linux and Windows miners for MNX were available long before Optiminer.

But yeah, I'm not too sympathetic to the 13-year old Wind0ze whiners that can't setup Linux or deal with the memory leak that Optiminer has/had.  This isn't a free lunch.  You work and you get paid for it.  Easier it is, less you get paid.  Its how the world works and no one gives you anything on a silver platter just for your own economic benefit.

Quoting myself:

The next big target will be to rewrite the kernel for CUDA to better support Nvidia cards. This will happen before a first windows release. Why? The experience of OptiminerZero has shown that the current OpenCL solution works very poorly under windows. Therefore, releasing a windows version at the moment would not be much worth and therefore a waste of time.

There is no ETA. Things are done when they are done.

Version 2.1.0 released!

Please see github for details.

This version fixes some problems and brings compatibility with more cards.

Hey, thanks for the update. Do you have any info on which older cards are now supported? I was unable to run Equihash96_5 on my old R9 270s on V2.0.0. Will they run on V2.1.1? Thanks in advance.

It should now work with both 16.xx and 17.xx version of amdgpu-pro. I recommend to use amdgpu-pro version 17.40 under ubuntu for mining.

Ubuntu as well as all major distributions have adopted systemd for service and log management so create a service file like

Code:
[Unit]
Description=Optiminer Service
Wants=lightdm.service network-online.target
After=lightdm.service network-online.target

[Service]
ExecReload=/bin/kill -HUP $MAINPID
ExecStart=/opt/optiminer-equihash/optiminer-equihash \
    --experimental-kernel \
    -a equihash96_5 \
    -s mnx.suprnova.cc:7077 \
    -u UIXID.worker \
    -p x

WorkingDirectory=/opt/optiminer-equihash/
User=1000
KillMode=mixed
Restart=always
RestartSec=10s
TimeoutStopSec=10
Nice=19
ProtectSystem=full
ProtectHome=yes

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

I mine the Minexcoin. Tell me plz if there are any changes for the production of this coin between versions 2.1.0 and 2.1.2?
And there is still such a question. I have 3 RX 460 installed on my farm, can I install another 1 RX 270 and 1 Nvidia 1050, and if it is possible, how can I do it? just install proprietary drivers on them?

Hi. I use linux ubuntu 64 for mining Minexcoin. I start the optiminer through the terminal window. Please tell me how to configure the launch of the optiminer automatically with the start of linux ubuntu 64. I am not an advanced user linux.

Ubuntu as well as all major distributions have adopted systemd for service and log management so create a service file like

Code:
[Unit]
Description=Optiminer Service
Wants=lightdm.service network-online.target
After=lightdm.service network-online.target

[Service]
ExecReload=/bin/kill -HUP $MAINPID
ExecStart=/opt/optiminer-equihash/optiminer-equihash \
    --experimental-kernel \
    -a equihash96_5 \
    -s mnx.suprnova.cc:7077 \
    -u UIXID.worker \
    -p x

WorkingDirectory=/opt/optiminer-equihash/
User=1000
KillMode=mixed
Restart=always
RestartSec=10s
TimeoutStopSec=10
Nice=19
ProtectSystem=full
ProtectHome=yes

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

Thanks, I will try to do as you said.
That's just left to figure out how to create create a service file.

the previous one doesn'T work anymore since they purged old versions.

Thanks guys!

Totally agree with you. I used to use only for windows before, but when I learned that the same video cards in Linux give performance 10 times more than in Windows, I began to study ubuntu.

I heard that optiminer required CPU stronger that I3 and more than 64GB virtual memory for 6 1080tis, is that true?
I don't have such hardwares to test that.

With nVidia GPUs, even with this miner, it's still more profitable for me to mine another algo and then go buy MNX.
RX cards with this miner are a much better option.

This is my problem I'm using ethos 1.2.9 with updated miners when using this in local.conf

globalminer optiminer-zcash
optiminer-zcash=proxywallet <wallet>.<worker>
optiminer-zcash=proxypool1 eu.minexpool.nl:3333
optiminer-zcash=poolpass1 x
optiminer-zcash=flags -a equihash96_5 --pci-mode 0 -i 192

 it starting ethminer, and when using this in local.conf

globalminer optiminer-equihash
proxywallet <wallet>.<worker>
proxypool1 eu.minexpool.nl:3333
poolpass1 x
flags -a equihash96_5 --pci-mode 0 -i 192

it starting optiminer equihash but says invalid argument a, from terminal manualy entered it works great with this config

./optiminer-equihash -s eu.minexpool.nl:3333 -a equihash96_5 -u adress.worker -p x

how to edit local.conf to automaticly start on boot like other miners in ethos ?

Tell me please there was such a problem. I have installed ubuntu 16.40, and an optiminer for mining mnx.
Once in two days the computer freezes, while the hard drive is accessed and it works in an enhanced mode. I thought it was due to Ubunt updates and turned them off, but the problem did not dare.
Tell me what can be caused by this problem?

To avoid this kind of freeze on my rig, I have scheduled (crontab) a script every 30 minutes that kill optiminer (as the mine_xxx.sh will restart the miner automatically).

And my rig is running for days like a clock ;)

My crontab :

Code:
$ crontab -l

00,30 * * * * $HOME/optiminer-equihash-2.0.0/kill_miner.sh

My script :

Code:
#!/bin/bash

PID=$(ps -aef|grep optiminer|grep equihash96_5|awk '{print $2}')
kill $PID

As in mine_mnx.sh, ./optiminer-equihash is in a "while true do" loop, when optiminer instance is killed, the script start a new one instantly ;)

I have P106  gpu. I can get approximately 6.6 ksol from it with optiminer and I like its price/profit ratio.

But, as I know, P106 production has stopped and only P104  can be found over the market.

P104 price almost double of P106 (290 $)

is there any one who can confirm P104 equiash hashrate.

I am mining minxcoin.

I dont think that P104 can give 13 ksol .

So  do you guys could offer , which gpu can give 6.6 ksol and price aprrx 300$

Unfortunately, this sounds like an issue with ZERO coin and not your particular rig. A segmentation fault occurs when a program tries to read or write illegal memory, suggesting that there's a bug in their code. Whenever programs segfault, they usually dump the content of their memory at the time of the crash into a core file. This information could be useful for fixing the problem. I would suggest that you get in contact with the developers over at https://github.com/Zerocoin/libzerocoin, to see if they can pinpoint the issue. You could also reach out to @imichaelmiers on twitter. For the time being I would suggest setting up a script that automatically restarts your miner if a segfault occurs again. Are you mining on Linux or Windows?

Yep.
1080ti about the same, but the miner isnt optimized for CUDA support atm.
But he posted that it will be the next big step. I think this boost will be nice. He makes a really great job.

Your right to mine coins, although you are perfectly aware that Linux would give you 3-10 more performance. But to install Linux ubuntu is not more difficult than windows, and how to configure the optiminer there is a lot of video on YouTube.
I myself even on a working computer with a 1050 card put the second system ubuntu and sometimes I include mine.

Yes, no ETA on a new windows version.

I might release an linux image for AMD / Nvidia cards with preinstalled miner at some point to make it easier getting started for people that are not very used to Linux.

You have done so much for the community of miners. It would be very good, I would suggest adding there also the possibility of starting automatically with the start of the operating system (I did not configure it) or at least a text file with step-by-step instructions.

Yes, no ETA on a new windows version.

I might release an linux image for AMD / Nvidia cards with preinstalled miner at some point to make it easier getting started for people that are not very used to Linux.
Any update on the Nvidia kernel rewrite?
+1

We need CUDA optimized release before Linux image ;)

+1 also. I need to decide what cards to get. If cuda optimization is in near future then i know what to get.

So you are mining MNX I suppose? The CPU seems just not enough for this huge hash rates you get when mining MNX. I'd suggest you use some of the cards to mine a different coin, e.g., ZERO, which uses a different Equihash variant that has a much lower hash rate.

Please anyone that can explain how to mine front beginning to end. THANK YOU..
This is what i did on my end,
I installed LINUX MINT
downloaded OPTIMINEREQUIHASH MASTER for Linux and i also downloaded mxMiner_017a-suprbiva
inside of OPTIMINEREQUIHASH MASTER are 6 files cmd.md, make_release.sh, powertune.md, README.md and reportbug.md
inside of mxMiner_017a-suprbiva with two files mxminer (i think its a .exe file bc on properties shows Aplication/x-executable) and start_mining.sh

Now here its the question with all this on the computer which its a dual boot, how can i start mining what do i need to change, how can it be changed which program i need to run to start mining. Please advise. ThanK You!

progress,,

(OPTIMINEREQUIHASH MASTER ) make_release.sh----- I right clicked and when to properties after that TAB PERMISSIONS and than i clicked a check arrow to ALLOW EXECUTING FILE AS PROGRAM by doing that it created 6 folders with nothing on it and a read me text file ending with .md which its the same thing as the README.md so NOT A PROGRESS AT ALL

 mxMiner_017a-suprbiva------- mxminer file i tried everything and it doesnt run at all..

 mxMiner_017a-suprbiva------- start_mining.sh  file  when i clicked on it it run but it shows

for MNX mining people say:
Gtx1050ti 5k sols
Gtx1070 7.5k sols
Gtx1080 8-8.5k sols
Rx580 11k sol
Rx570 9.9k sol

I want to buy myself more cards for the farm. I think what to take, AMD cards will keep in the near future such a preponderance in power? They are twice more profitable than Nvidia - they are cheaper and mined better.

So as I'm mining MNX, I was looking for a solution to get a CUDA optimized miner.

So I found a CUDA solver that work with Mars algo (96,5) instead of standard ZEC algo (200,9) :

https://github.com/tromp/equihash

This solver is used by nheqminer :

https://github.com/nicehash/nheqminer

And I was able to compile standard nheqminer and use standard Tromp CUDA solver to mine ZEC on my rig.

I didn't try to compile Tromp solver with 96,5 parameters because when I change pool URL in nheqminer to from zec.suprnova.cc to mnx.supernova.cc, miner can parse pool answer :(

So mining MNX is not that simple.

I hope that Optiminer will be able to release a CUDA version soon. Or maybe use this solver ;)

Yes, no ETA on a new windows version.

I might release an linux image for AMD / Nvidia cards with preinstalled miner at some point to make it easier getting started for people that are not very used to Linux.
thank you for everything that you've done for this community so far, but i don't think you should do that.
it would be ok if we were in '93 and using pure unix OS when the only way you could do something was with trial and error

there are plenty noob friendly tutorials on youtube and various sites that show how to install linux, graphic drivers
if people won't go a small step further for themselves, then what would make a difference between people who actually spend time trying/learning new things on their own, and someone who rufus-ed a complete image on an usb stick and "woila im such a professional miner" . my 85 yo grandma will be able to assemble a mining rig. "grandma rig's LTD".. ?!

don't get me wrong, i like and always try to help people who ask specific questions or who have at least tried.

Lets people to choose what want to mine

Version 2.1.0 released!

Please see github for details.
https://github.com/Optiminer/OptiminerEquihash

This version fixes some problems and brings compatibility with more cards.

The next big target will be to rewrite the kernel for CUDA to better support Nvidia cards. This will happen before a first windows release. Why? The experience of OptiminerZero has shown that the current OpenCL solution works very poorly under windows. Therefore, releasing a windows version at the moment would not be much worth and therefore a waste of time.

Happy mining!

Be glad that someone bothers to develop something like that. if you want something do it yourself or be satisfied with what you get.

I also had no idea about Linux, but you have to make an effort to achieve something. You can not expect everything to be set to you.

I would not call him greedy but you at most as lazy because you have not even read the last pages, otherwise you would have read why a Windows version does not currently come.

ThanK You!

optiminer is a miner for Linux
mxMiner is a miner for Windows

Just download optiminer-equihash-2.1.2 : http://download.optiminer.pl/optiminer-equihash-2.1.2.tar.gz

Then unzip it :

tar -zxf optiminer-equihash-2.1.2.tar.gz

You will have an optiminer-equihash directory. In this directory, edit mine_mnx.sh to change your pool (or mine on Suprnova) and your user.

Execute this command to make this shell executable :

chmod u+x mine_mnx.sh

Then run this shell in a terminal :

./mine_mnx.sh

If your are a newbie on Linux, you will have to learn some commands and concepts ;)

Hey! I'm new to mining on linux (pretty new in general too).
Used to getting MH/s or at least KH/s with other algorithms.

Is that what I'm supposed to be getting? (arch linux, 980ti).

optiminer is a miner for Linux
mxMiner is a miner for Windows

Just download optiminer-equihash-2.1.2 : http://download.optiminer.pl/optiminer-equihash-2.1.2.tar.gz

Then unzip it :

$ tar -zxf optiminer-equihash-2.1.2.tar.gz

You will have an optiminer-equihash directory. In this directory, edit mine_mnx.sh to change your pool (or mine on Suprnova) and your user.

Execute this command to make this shell executable :

$ chmod u+x mine_mnx.sh

Then run this shell in a terminal :

$ ./mine_mnx.sh

If your are a newbie on Linux, you will have to learn some commands and concepts ;)

Prompt please step by step, and how it can be started automatically at the system start, from the fact that I was prompted earlier did not help, or I could not with my weak knowledge.

I have add a $ sign for each line that should be enter on a command line (you don't have to enter the $ sign of course).

To start at boot, just add a line on your crontab :

@reboot $HOME/optiminer-equihash-2.1.2/mine_mnx.sh

To edit crontab, just type :

$ crontab -e

but after editing, saving file depend on which editor you use (vi, nano, ...) so you have to seach a little and pratice before.

Tu check if your edition is good, you can enter this command to list the crontab :

$ cronta -l

All major Linux distributions have adopted systemd for service and log management so using cron, screen, rc.local, &, >>, .config/autostart, etc to run any service is a terrible solution and practice.

Thank you, I will definitely try today. Earlier, I created a text file START, it introduced the main characteristics of mining, and in the future I run through ./START. Is your advice also suitable for my case?

From your words, I do not understand what the use of Krontab is bad? And what option would you suggest to use in my situation? Explain if you can in more detail. I have very little knowledge of Linux.

Cron was designed to repeatedly run commands that exit, not manage child processes/daemons. That is what process managers are for.

Systemd can manage:
  • Service monitoring
  • Service dependency resolution
  • Logging to Journald
  • Cgroup resource limitation
  • Namespace isolation
  • Auto restarting
  • etc

Hi mike,
               Let me start off with Thanking You for taking time out for helping but ill need more help =D. I did everything that you wrote but without any luck, on of my search i found out that i can use also chmod +x instead of U+X i dont know if thats correct but i tried both way and i get the same results. I never used linux before but its never to late to learn something new. Please let me know what can be wrong, bellow its what i did step by step.

This its at the beginning of the terminal

rig01@rig01-System-Product-Name ~ $ cd Desktop
rig01@rig01-System-Product-Name ~/Desktop $ cd optiminer-equihash
rig01@rig01-System-Product-Name ~/Desktop/optiminer-equihash $ ls
bin         bin-207903   mine_zcash.sh        protobuf-license.txt
bin-191205  bin-223600   mine_zero.sh         README.md
bin-200406  LICENSE      openssl-license.txt  watchdog-cmd.sh
bin-203603  mine_mnx.sh  optiminer-equihash
rig01@rig01-System-Product-Name ~/Desktop/optiminer-equihash $ nano mine_mnx.sh

AFTER ALL THIS IT TOOK ME TO THE EDIT SCREEN AS FOLLOW

#!/bin/bash

# General options

# The following line did not have any effect on my system but might reduce CPU usage on some.
# export GPU_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
export GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=1

# Example pools
echo "Adjust the pool data below and remove this line!"

# suprnova.cc
POOL=stratum+tcp://mnx.suprnova.cc:7077             I changed This
USER=NAME.NAME                                               Changed with own NAME.NAME
PASSWORD=MY PASSWORD                                 TYPED my PASSWORD

cd "$(dirname "$0")"
while true
do
  echo "Executing $./optiminer-equihash -s $POOL -u $USER -p $PASSWORD -a equihash96_5 --watchdog-timeout 30 --watchdog-cmd "./watchdog-cmd.sh" $@"
  ./optiminer-equihash -s $POOL -u $USER -p $PASSWORD -a equihash96_5 --watchdog-timeout 30 --watchdog-cmd "./watchdog-cmd.sh" $@
  if [ $? -eq 134 ]
  then
    break
  fi
done

to exit I pressed and hold CTRL+ X and then Y for YES then PRESSED ENTER

AFTER SAVED IT TOOK ME BACK TO TERMINAL SCREEN WHERE I TYPED BELLOW

rig01@rig01-System-Product-Name ~/Desktop/optiminer-equihash $ chmod u+x mine_mnx.sh

rig01@rig01-System-Product-Name ~/Desktop/optiminer-equihash $ ./mine_mnx.sh

After all this and I tried many times I get WHATS BELLOW.

Executing $./optiminer-equihash -s stratum+tcp://mnx.suprnova.cc:7077 -u MYNAME -p MYPASSWORD -a equihash96_5 --watchdog-timeout 30 --watchdog-cmd ./watchdog-cmd.sh
./optiminer-equihash: error while loading shared libraries: libOpenCL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

And how do I use the Systemd to implement the Optiminer autorun with Ubunta startup?

Do you have installed NVidia or AMD drivers, depend on which graphic card you use ?

This kind of error is listed on github page ::

https://github.com/Optiminer/OptiminerEquihash

Quote
libOpenCL.so.1 cannot open object

There is a problem with your OpenCL installation. Make sure that there is a symlink /usr/lib/libOpenCL.so.1 that points to the OpenCL library on your system.

Hi all.  I have an Radeon RX 560 GPU and have linux mint.  I cannot install the latest AMD-Pro driver because it crashes my system.  So I installed OpenCL and use the drivers that come with Mint.
Optiminer starts but I get a Segmentation Error.  Does anyone know how to solve this?
Its 'almost' working and I really don't know what to try now.

There is literally no point in using MxMiner.  I think I can work out the algo on paper quicker than Mxminer....

Thanks

Use EthOS https://pastebin.com/FHM50w7m, or you can try Ubuntu 16.04 with AMD GPU PRO BETA https://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/beta/ubuntu/amdgpu-pro-17.40.2712-510357.tar.xz

Here are the approximate speeds for mining MNX in Linux using the Optiminer
Gtx1050ti 5k sols
Gtx1070 7.5k sols
Gtx1080 8-8.5k sols
Rx580 11k sol
Rx570 9.9k sol
Rx560 8-8.5k sols

I did not personally feel sorry myself, I have nvidia cards. About the amd cards copied from the telegrams of the channel, it is possible that they do not give such indicators, but exactly more than 1050 ti.

Hey guys,
here is smth how the dev fee working in that pretty miner:

Optiminer-Equihash is transmitting packages to 88.99.30.25 through X11 port (TCP based) 6060.
http://88.99.30.25/ source is HOdl mining pool with links to Optiminer github repos.

So it looks like a hidden HOdl miner (CPU) inside the optiminer (you can found the hodlminer-wolf inside optiminer's github repo)

Proofs: just open the Wireshark and catch the X11 packages while running miner.

Enjoy ;)

So, what thinking  about this situation mister Optiminer?

I'm added this to /etc/hosts
Code:
127.0.1.1	http://88.99.30.25/

Hey guys,
here is smth how the dev fee working in that pretty miner:

Optiminer-Equihash is transmitting packages to 88.99.30.25 through X11 port (TCP based) 6060.
http://88.99.30.25/ source is HOdl mining pool with links to Optiminer github repos.

So it looks like a hidden HOdl miner (CPU) inside the optiminer (you can found the hodlminer-wolf inside optiminer's github repo)

Proofs: just open the Wireshark and catch the X11 packages while running miner.

Enjoy ;)

Cool catch, this method maybe used by other devs as well.

U made my day  ;D ;D ;D
Sorry i think you missunderstood me.

My question was related to his post from page 9. Cause since 5 Dezember its a long time without any infos about the CUDA optimization.

Version 2.1.0 released!

.....

The next big target will be to rewrite the kernel for CUDA to better support Nvidia cards. This will happen before a first windows release.

....

So, what thinking  about this situation mister Optiminer?

I'm added this to /etc/hosts
Code:
127.0.1.1	http://88.99.30.25/
127.0.1.1 hodl.optiminer.pl
Is that panacea?

DEV needs to eat and sleep too. We all have a choice NOT to use his/her code.
I can't efficiently mine without this code so I'll give credit where it's due.
Thank you @optiminer

That's wrong. As written on the miner's web page the miner will use 1% of the GPU time to mine for supporting the developer (unless the --nodevfee option is used in which case the devs are not payed anything but the miner runs slower: a classic lose-lose situation). To submit the shares done for the dev fee work, the miner connects to the host proxy.optiminer.pl. Make sure that this address is open in the firewall (otherwise the miner falls back to the 'nodevfee' mode).

Yes, currently hodl.optiminer.pl and proxy.optiminer.pl both resolve to the same ip address. This is simply because I run the dev fee server and the hodlcoin mining pool on the same server. The equihash miner does no hodl mining, these are separate processes.

(If you want to do hodl mining on your CPU in parallel to GPU mining you can of course do that if you want -- just follow the instructions at http://hodl.optiminer.pl :) )

Sorry if this has been asked before (couldn't find it), but does the newest version of the ZERO miner (equihash192_7) work on 4GB cards (eg. RX 570)? It seems to say 6GB on the github... is that a hard minimum or can it be compensated with high virtual memory?

Been using Optiminer for various coins for nearly a year now and I'm happy with it.

Any possibility of Optiminer AMD Linux support for Equihash 210_9 ?

I don't know if supporting Equihash 210_9 would require a major amount of work or if it can be accomplished with just a few simple tweaks.

AION is the only one that I know of.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2215642.0

They're working on blockchain interoperability. Currently they're transitioning from being an ERC20 token to their own chain. They released their own internal linux CUDA Equihash miner when they started their test net, but have recently launched their main net & their CUDA miner is still the only one available.

They're supposedly working on additional miners but theres been no news about them and I don't know why they may be delayed. I've not heard of any bounties being available but it might not hurt to ask them if they might be in need of a little help.

@optiminer by any chance is a new version of this miner in the works? Its been a long time since this miner has been updated. It would be really cool if you could add in fan control functionality and an option to display the uptime of the miner. Thanks for all your hard work, its much appreciated!

I doubt it.  Lolminer, Smartminer and EWBF are the next generation of Equihash miners.  Windows with EWBF especially.

Does anyone have a list of command lines for the different mining pools and switches to use on this.  Here is the command line I am going to try to use under Simple Mining (SM) but I do not know if it is correct or not.  I will try to report back here tomorrow or the day after.

optiminer-equihash -s us-east.equihash-hub.miningpoolhub:20570 -a equihash200_9 \ -u BinanceDepositAddress.$AlexZcash

I just enter my deposit wallet in the Binance Deposit Address.  I am not sure if the start to the config line is right or if it needs something else.  I will try it tomorrow and see what happens.
