After reading up on this project, I think we have a winner here. I can see something like this taking off and I can't really say that about too many other ICOs.

There's a general summary of the project here in the top post. Simply put, Giftz is a network for tokenized loyalty points (a rewards program similar to what we now see with many retail stores). They partner with merchants just the same. It doesnt matter what currency it is bought with, because that user gets the same amount of ITC that they would have if they first converted their BTC to ETH first. So the total value exchanged is the same either way. Its just more convenient for the user.
The reserve in BNT is based on the number of ITC tokens, so all that matters is how many ITC there are, not what currency was originally used to buy them.

Definitely, Giftz is creating a platform by which business could tokenize their loyalty programs and other services. Now that partnering with BlockV, it will be on an AR platform. Innovation along with a platform would seal the deal in this rapid growing era.

At the very least it will help retail stores have better retention of customers. So should be popular with any stores that want customers to keep coming back!

Agree that can bring retail great benefits, but to draw in new customers interested in the rewards this tech is bringing, crypto must go mainstream. I think next year we will se just that - more and more people coming to this space.  Mass adoption is around the corner and projects like Giftz has a first mover advantage.

Yes, more and more countries starting to see the potential in blockchain technology. In Europe it's also Estonia and Ukraine, Japan legalised crypto, some countries in Middle East. Would be great to see Giftz go global, so wherever you go, you can earn or spend the tokens. In a few years this will probably be a standard in this industry.

Great question. I did some research and read up the Giftz whitepaper to answer your question about exchange listing and this is what I found detailed in their whitepaper. "The Giftz™ Network Community will have access to a trading platform within its ecosystem (without Exchanges). At the moment, most if not all trading platforms for virtual currencies are based on the operations of exchanges. Exchanges serve an important function, but are not without problems. The Giftz™ Network will implement a completely different and innovative approach to trading tokens that is based on auction technology. The proposed solution has two major characteristics: (1) it solves most of the problems with current crypto currency systems, and (2) it is compatible with current systems, i.e. it does not require any modifications. Our auction platform will make The Giftz™ Network a true crypto-community."

Thanks for info, haven't got much time during holidays and I see that whitepaper is very detailed (which is good), will try to read thru it soon. The idea of auction sounds good for this kind of tokens, because exchanges have risk of high volatility and manipulation from whales. But since it's erc20 token it will be added to some decentralized exchanges (like EtherDelta) or as a Connector on Bancor Network anyway. Wonder how those community p2p auctions will be implemented.

My worries is that a shop X might not like the idea that I can use their rewards in some other shop Y. Businesses usually want to lock you to them specifically. This change was just due to ITC taking the ItCoin Black token name even though Giftz had it first. So you'll see in your wallet that you have both the old and new tokens (the old ones are now discarded).
