From your post, you already have two coins you wish to invest into. You can start with that, but I think ETH, XRP, Lisk and XMR are some good coins for both long or short term. It is still good if you go for the bitcoin forked coins like BCH and BTG are some very good ones, that can serve well for a short term investment and long term too.

Don't know about SALT but ETH is looking solid.

Diversify to more than two coins. Pick some that seem good to you and leave a small amount for risky trades (small marketcap). Also since you want to look for long-term and your capital is high I recommend you find a proof of stake coin. You leave your wallet open and the coins grow over time while you help the network. One to consider is NAVcoin (low marketcap/room to grow), they have 5% staking per year and have Navpi (raspberry pi with the wallet installed) that uses minimal electricity and gets you your coins.

Finally put some capital in the top 5, BTC/ETH etc. The sky is the limit in crypto but since it can get bumpy you should diversify to at least 5 coins in my opinion.

Etherum looks really solid, but the future pump is unpredictable. Bitcoin costs a lot and a little percent can change the price a lot. People are saying that soon bitcoin will reach 15000$ and you can be in actually huge pluse in sooner time.

actually your exactly correct have many coins choices, the decision where you want to invest your money learn it carefully for the security of your future and your money become profitable, i will suggest long term investment are best invesment but choose the strongest coin with have proof to potential increaese in the market price, ethereum the number one alts are surely profitable in a long term.

You will not know the result until you try.

If you find ETH and SALT have a good trading volume based on your own view and you think that they will give you good profit then do the trades. You have no choice but to faced the risks since no one knows what will happened after you invest.

Long term and Short term will based on how will you look in that coins after doing trades for some time. You are the one who will decide what coins will consider as good for long or short trades. 

Buy some LTC whenever it goes down to 90' or 80's, the coin is promising to have an stable price in between 120/150 after this year.

I think both are solid investments and long term you should be doing okay with both. Don't know which one will garner you better results in the short term though I know the SALT platform is going to launch in December which should give it a nice boost from where it is now, don't know what ETH has planned in the woodwork but I would check that out before investing as well. Be thorough in your homework it will help you.

And how do you know that the price will drop to the 80's or 90's levels? it is impossible to know that.

And how do you know that it is going to be over $120 or $150 by next year? Are you a magician?


Do whatever you want, if you want to buy litecoin, then buy it, it is one of the best altcoins that are now listed on the market.

The same applies to IOTA and Ethereum, they are probably the most promising altcoins that we are going to have during the next year.

Monero is a good coin too, but i would not put more than three thousand dollars in this, nobody knows if it can get stucked at some point just like it happened during this year on the first quarter.

Op, why don't you use about 50 percent of your capital and buy Bitcoin pending when its value appreciate and invest some part of the remaining one to invest Graft project which am currently promoting. You can get more information about Graft project through my current signature.

I agree with you; there are so many coins out now that one can get easily confused in the whole process of choosing the right one.
Though, I don't know much about SALT but I can say a big 'yes' to Ethereum, because I see it making impacts in the future of cryptocurrency years to come.
Like you said, you  have €10,000 which is a good amount for investing; why not invest into three or four coins instead of only investing in two coins since you are looking into investing for short and long term.
At least you might consider investing two-quarter into Bitcoin (its very good for both long term and short term investment).
Ethereum (which is very good for long term)
Monero (also good for long &short term investment)
Bitcoin Cash (good for long term)

Make a 50/50 bet on Bitcoin and Ethereum it is not considered as gamble because of the value of that two that keeps increasing than decreasing would be better to buy a ledger nano wallet for a max security matching for your money it is quite worth to spend with. Those two are the top best coin.

£ 10,000 is a pretty big amount. With that money you can split into several parts to invest in crypto. You should buy bitcoin then exchange with other altcoin to make a profit. You can also track and invest in potential ICO projects. These are the ways that I use when entering the market.

If you do short investment, you can choose any coin for trading but i suggest only legit coin like etherium and waves.
But if long term investment then just put your money only on bitcoin, etherium and waves.

Many altcoins are available in market so we don't accurately predict the long-term investment and short-term investment. But we predict the good altcoin in current situation.
 If you want to invest altcoin I prefer IOTA, XMR and NEO these three coins are good potential in current market. You also analyse these coins are suitable for your future growth and current profit.

If you invest your 10K in these scam programs mostly after 48 hours you will not have any money.

Think logically no business can make so much profit in just 48 hours those programs are a scam because they take money from you and give it to others for while until they get sufficient deposits then they will suddenly close the site and may come back with another new scam site. Don't waste your hard earned money on these sites.

Half of this money is bought in Bitcoin, it has been overvaluing in the last few days, and in the long run it will value more by making you profitable with it.
With the other half invest in Altcoins, but do not invest in one, get some promising currencies like Ethereum, Monero, Dash, Litecoin and buy a little of each in the lower values.

I think you can invest your 50% of your investment into bitcoins because in couple of years the investment will be multiplied and ethereum is a good choice too but I think bitcoin is the better investment of crypto over anycoins because the price of bitcoin increasing everyday.

Don't try to invest in just two coins, try to condense your portfolio. Oh, and go invest in bitcoin. It is a good thing. What I say in condensing your own portfolio, it means invest in many coins. Divide your 10,000.

OP, I just want to believe you will allow your mind some flexibility by adopting some of the suggestions given you here. You sound like your mind is already cast on the ether and salt coins. Take coins like Waves and Walton, they are great coins for the near future. You may want to split your capital and have them as part of your buy in addition to ether and salt. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

This is a pretty sensible way to start. 50% in Bitcoin would be the minimum I would suggest. 30% in ETH and LTC would be next on the list of well established safe coins and then the 20% for more of a gamble on what you think might take off for whatever reason.

Long term investment means that the period of investment is going to be more than at least 1 year, and maximum of what like, 5 years or so. Short term investment on the contrary ,means any amount invested and cashed out/realized within a year. Now, long term investment just cannot be the right thing for any one to start with trading as you know the markets are volatile, you might tend to panic much and when it comes altcoins, there's a basic rule kind of thing amongst the users that altcoins cannot be held for long, because of the pump and dump groups ruin the aura of the coin, it's not the same for bitcoin, but do not go for long term, it's never suggested. And the altcoins you have chose to start with also isn't leading to the best decision that you can financially make. That too for what it's worth, 10,000£ is not a small amount Mister. Go for better altcoins, like say ETH or LTC, and the like. The list can go on and on and on. Start with the most trusted/reputed altcoins as you might find it a bit more easier to trade with. I would rather just go all in on BTC or at least fix some high percentage on BTC while I distribute the rest on the top 15 ALTS, excluding XRP with that kind of money. However, I hope OP is not trying to put all his savings into cryptocurrency?

It is estimated that ETH will be able to compete with BTC, but ETH will be more fitting if used as a long-term investment. It is said that because ETH movement is not like BTC is soaring, while ETH tends to be more stable. But other types of coins I invested with XRP and XLM.

ETH is a good idea for long term investment but about SALT, I don't think it's good one, why don't you choose other cryptocurrency like LTC or XMR or maybe the best crytocurrency for now, Bitcoin, I think it's better than SALT and very good for long term investment. Although the price of Bitcoin is really high at the moment but with 10k pounds I think it's enough to earn good amount of money by investing in Bitcoin :D

You can not go wrong with leading coins specially those that are around for long time. Long term is always safe option. Personally I like to invest in masternode coins like NEO, DASH, PIVIX they are more stable and give divided

I agree with you as most of the users just invest or says they are willing to invest either into bitcoin or ethreum nowadays without researching about the potential of other altcoins available in the market which might give a better return for lesser investment than bitcoin or ethreum

This is a great sum of money, and you should not make a mistake to invest it. Better pick more stable and promising cryptos like Ethereum, DASH and Monero, NEO and probably Waves. Do not use only 2 coins.

It totally depends on the OP honestly. Everyone here will state their own opinion but for someone who have such a huge amount of money to invest, he should be able to do research all by himself and not just stick with anything he is being told here. I am not saying people won't give him some good choices, but I would not want to bank my investment on someone else's decision.
If he is unsure, he can just use the market cap and volume to try his luck and http://coinmarketcap.com should help with that. I would still try to read more about the project, get a good look at the team behind the project and check their road-map though even after using coinmarketcap, before continuing with my investment on any coin if I were the OP.

You don’t have to mention how much you wanted to invest to avoid scammers sending you private messages, that is annoying and hope that you won’t be trap at that. Be wise and go to more stable altcoin like litecoin and eth that is worth a profit sooner. Avoid broadcasting of any plan like this for asking purposes, it would create more problem than solving it.

Don´t know about SALT but ETH I think is gonna give us some good surprises in 2018. There are a lot of project based on ETH Blockchain, so I think it has more real support than BTC, which It´s seem just especulative coin. Just my opinion.

i did not hear about SALT. in any case it is more profitable to invest in ethers. this is a more popular currency and besides with it you can create smart contracts. it seems to me practical

If i have a huge money like that I am going to buy 1btc.  Then I will invest the half of it to a sure pumping coin.

Those are some good coins you have listed already and trust me mate, you are on the right track. However, I would not advise you go in totally on Alts alone, set some apart for BTC unless you have something against BTC anyway.

Also, you may want to consider IOTA, but I will advise you chill for it to settle down from the bull run for now before you opt in. It is a good project too. With that kind of money, it is good you just do some research yourself rather than just sticking to every opinion you are given here.

ETH is the strongest coin after BTC. You can invest to Ethereum with your eyes closed. The market cap is growing everyday for ETH. Now it's $46.379.576.130. But i can't say the same for the SALT. SALT is rising okay but it's not promising for me, can be dangerous.

There are too many coins for short-term trading, even bitcoin, litecoin and ethereum can be used for short-term trading objects.
The same thing for long-term investment, the best one is bitcoin obviously, especially at current market situation which bitcoin could raise $2000-$3000 within hours and vice versa. The implication of bitcoin on rally is; most altcoins prices will likely going down or barely can't increase due to money flow into bitcoin or switch to bitcoin.

Personally, I would not want to put XRP on that list. That is not some coin I would want to hold for long term; bankers coin equals to manipulative coin as far as I am concerned.

XMR and Lisk added to the OP's list are all good and I am sure they will have some space in the crypto industry in the long run. SALT is a great one and if he is fast enough, he should better buy now as I have a feelings it would have some bull run pretty soon just like I had the feelings about IOTA recently. Honestly, I would not want to put all my coins in just only Altcoin and I am surprised the OP never even mentioned Bitcoin. As far as I am concerned that should always be the first priority. ETH is good and now is even a good time to buy at the present correction. Support is good for it and in a short while he should get some pretty good value increase on the coin.

There are so many coins out there and the best is to just stick with the ones already with a huge market cap and I will not rule out XMR from this most especially.

This is a good amount of money. If one doesn't like bitcoin, he should select the major altcoins from the top 20 or top 25 list of coinmarketcap website.

Well if you are looking for long term investment and the amount of money you are investing ,bitcoins seems a great option but currently it's value is very high so it would be better to wait and see how the values goes.Ethereum is also good option as it has been steadily increasing and would grow even more in future and also try to invest in litecoin and dash as they are showing promising returns.

With 10.000 GBP you have enought to start a XEM node and regularly earn fees.
I would spread out the rest of the money in IOTA, Waves, Cardano and buy 100 DeppOnion (so you can get the airdrop)

I will also suggest for to invest in ethereum as it is now a growing currency and it is also becoming a stronger base currency as bitcoin is. The price of it is also expected to increase too much higher as of now bitcoin because we are seeing it is growing on the same trend as was bitcoin.

I think allocating most capital into BTC is always the best.

Yes investing in bitcoin nowadays is a clever advise for any investor. The price of it is increasing and it will not drop back because bitcoin has a strong community who are supporting this currency and they will not let the price of bitcoin to drop to lower value and people also know that in the future it will be a more adopted currency so they do not lose heart when the price decrease a little and everyone rush to buy more bitcoin so the demand of it is always high.

If you have 10k GBP allocated for cryptocurrencies you have to answer couple of questions:

What is the amount of volatility and level of drawdown that you could potentially tolerate? As you have vitnessed - there was huge amounts of volatility in las few days and countless traders had lost their sleep and focus (hopefully only that). This will be reality for you if you want to be fully invested. If this level of heath will be excessive you will eventually make some grave mistakes. So this is probably most important question to understand.
Best option will be to invest no more than 1k and if you are comfortable with that - then gradually increse your positions. Dont be afraid to miss out oppertunities, you are new in this industry - there will be plenty of ups and downs.

Do you have some prefferences or do you want to have maximal exposure to crypto markets? If former is case then you answered your qestion, if latter - than you should invest in some indexes that represents basket of main currencies.

of course very good If there is an etherium on the wallet, but I think that the Ether has a more stable rate than other coins, even as for example Bitcoin. Just look at the Bitcoin takeoff and drop schedule and compare it to the same ETH.

I recommend that you stick with the major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Etherium, Litecoin. Be careful with the really cheap coins that don't have a lot to offer. Some of them will just drop to almost nothing and never recover. It's better to stick with the coins that have heavy trading volume to make the risk is lower and you can make a good profits.

Invest in Bitcoin. I regret that I jumped from one currency to another, sometimes bought 3-4-as a result spent nerves and even a small loss due to Bitcoin fast grow.

It is the coolest decision. You can probably risk and stake at smaller altcoins such as Komody and Cardano, but I'd better choose Ethereum.

i think there are 2 way for us to invest, first is using all of money to invest just in bitcoin, i know this is quite risky to do that because we may loose a lot of money if bitcoin drop but huge profit if bitcoin rises, and the second way is invest in both bitcoin and ethereum to make us safe but also get high profit.

That two coins you are considering is a good choice already but I suggest you add some more around 6-10 coins since 10k pounds is already a huge amount and by holding variation in portfolio is safer for investment so even some of coins you chosed didn't make it there is still a chance to recover from others.

Do not make any investment decision based on the random advise given by someone who you don't even know. The best way is to do your own research. You can think of the strategies advised by others in order to get started but investing in XYZ coin blindly is not a wise idea and not an investment either (it's a gamble). Thus, do your own research and try to diversify your funds so that you won't have to worry about the volatility of any single coin.

If you are planning to invest for longer term then go for good and major crypto coins like Litecoin, Bitcoin, Ethereum where they have high chances to last for longer time and they have good tendency of rise in prices.Otherwise for short term invest in altcoins like monero, Neocoin, Ripple, Zcash, Dash where the returns are high within the short span of time.

For long term I would recommend you to invest in Btc, Eth, Neo, Xmr, Bch and Ltc
IMO eth has a bright future like btc. Eth is the second largest asset by demand and it is very famous.

Most coin are in their pretty much pumped stage presently, and I wound rather prefer to just relax for them to take some dip before I would invest. However, since it is the long term investment anyway, they will surely still do right.

BTC will always be my top pick for any investment and then XMR, LTC, IOTA, WAVES which can be added to some of the ones he already chose. If he is not very sure, he can just spread his investments across the top 20 coins on coinmarketcap, but I would not just want to do that without some research though.

If you ask anyone who have been on the cryptocurrency world for quite some time now, he will tell you that all you need to do with your money is to invest it into a bitcoin, bitcoin has been and will for ever be the king of the cryptocurrencies the most profitable thing that has ever existed and will ever exist on earth, bitcoin was able to go from being at a pprice of 1000$ to a price that exeades the 15000$ in just a year, that is more than 1500% profit, wich makes it profitable both on the long term and the short term as equal, if you are thinking of putting your money on ethereum or any other altcoin you would be disapointed from thier growth and you wouldn't get as much profit as you would using bitcoin.

I always welcome the diversity. I don’t believe in getting stick to one thing and when it goes down you are nothing. You just lose everything. That shouldn’t be happen. There are so many coins, what you need is to research for better ones and then divide your invoke. If this person has really this much amount and needs to invest, I advise to invest in different coins, as you have said too.

I would advise you to be careful with Salt. I also did some research about that coin, and I think it's a promising project, but they are trying to enter the lending market, and might get killed by regulation. Also, they still must prove that their lending network is real, because without lenders, there is no project. I'm also considering investing on Salt, but I consider it a high risk investment.

Ethereum looks much safer, and although Litecoin does not stop growing, I think it will only stop when it gets to third place, so I would go for it as well, and I think it's a much better investment than Salt right now. Cardano looks like a nice project as well, and is still very cheap. It probably wont get a huge price, because of it's large supply, but if it gets to $1 or $2, it will still give it's investors a huge profit.

I think bitcoin is the best option to invest so high value because bitcoin owes the trust of people and then return them a huge profit out of this and the amount you are investing is very high and investing in any other thing will be risky so go for the safer way bitcoin will give you ease to spend the money you invested because It is acceptable as payment also so make the right decision money is your and you will have to decide,

I think you should head from $ 10,000 on ethereum as this is the second potential altcoin after bitcoin and I'm sure it will reach $ 800 later this year.

Ethereum and Salt indeed good project but by add more portfolio with more coin will be good idea, by hold maximum 5 coin is better to increasing profit and to minimize the risk of investment. In my opinion Other coin that good in fundamental is POWR, LTC, DASH, DATA, and CCORE.

Yes, Ethereum is always a best altcoin to invested in and Salt is ok either. But if I were you, I will also include OmiseGO, NEM, Komodo and of course Bitcoin.

If you're planning for a long term investment. I would recommend Bitcoin and Ethereum. These are the top 2 cryptocurrency. And it's price will most definitely increase in the future. With the supply being limited and demand increasingly high. There's no doubt that it will just keep on increasing.

Ethereum can crash in future as we cannot have same trust in it as we can have it in bitcoins as the supply of bitcoin is limited and it will surely take price higher in future depending on the demand so if I have to invest that huge sum of money then I would go only with bitcoins without taking any risk of investing in any altcoin.

If you want to start investing in the cryptcurrency that hasn't has a big explosion yet then it is Ripple (XRP). Don't get me wrong it had a big leap from .23$ per coin to .76$ a coin right now. Don't let its price fool you as it is currently sitting 3rd in terms of Market Cap and only Bitcoin and Ethereum are ahead with it, XRP even is bigger than Litecoin or Monero as of the moment. Sorry for giving you an exact advice but Ripple seems to big to be missed right now, also buy at your own risk.

I don't agree with your choice, bitcoin and eth still the best option for invest and trade. That's one, second thing is your mindset about investment. If you choose to invest, long term period is the right one ( not short term period ). Last one, have you learn about investment risk? if not please cancel your investment activity and learn it first. you have a good list and you can research more coins so you can buy many coins too if you want. I think if you invest your money in eth and salt is a good option for you and you need to hold for a long time. in short term, you need to search what coins that will work for you because it is not the same between what people choose and what you choose. the other people can suggest you buy A coin but in fact that A coin is not working for you. Bitcoin is more profitable at this time and as you are investing so high amount then don’t invest into a useless coin, ETH is good for the small value investments and there is no chance that eth will give you more because alts are bleeding right now and their investors are worried all of them are waiting for the suitable time to get out from the alts and join the bitcoin community so my suggestion is to go for bitcoin and it has potential.
