As we know that the Cryptocurrency is very trending these days. Of course, The Bitcoin Price touches new height day by day and the good thing is that most of the people get more and more benefit from this currency. But I am looking for Alternate Option like Ethereum. So please Suggest me. What's the Future of Ethereum after 5 years of more?

Ethereum is a good option for who are going to invest for long term like five years,but no one knows the price of ethereum after five years because we have no idea about its potential,maybe the ethereum will rise to $2000 in 2018.The ethereum price falling due to the recent bitcoin crazy price rise so it is better time for ethereum investors you can get your coin for cheap price.

if we're comparing between Bitcoin or Ethereum for future (Approximately for 5 years more or less),
i think Bitcoin has a lot of potential compared to Ethereum because Bitcoin itself is a symbol of cryptocurrency.
of course if we're looking at progress and implementation in our real life.
but if we're talking about profit that we will get,no doubt altcoin can achieve it or even some of them surpass it.
in the next few years later i heard Ethereum will make a transition,
they will change from Proof of work (POW) to Proof of stake (POS),for me i do not think it's a good choice for Eteherum to make this kind of move.
because all that we need to do is holding our own coin and it will generate a revenue everyday.
which mean the whales itself will get a lot of coins compared to other people.
well,no matter how good it is as long as it's an altcoin forever it will never can surpass the Bitcoin itself.

Just want to highlight few cons and pros of Ethereum ;

Pros:
1. Price has been increased by over 400x after ICO.
2. ETH is first smart contract platform where Decentralized apps can be built.
3. ETH transactions are faster because of very fast blocks and also the transaction fees is very small compared to bitcoin.
4. ETH also have constant development and good community support.

Con:
1. ETH network still needs some scaling solution because when even one game will get viral whole network get congested.
2. ETH is quite centralized atleast development part and vitalik+team hold really large number of coins

Conclusion, you can hold ETH for long term and can expect huge price gain in future.

If you invest the bitcoin right now I feel you will be a bit objected to seeing the current bitcoin price so high. Well, I myself chose ethereum as an alternative to investing, when I bought it for $300 and up until now I still hold this coin for sale 3-4 years in the future, I feel it will surpass the current bch price or maybe touch the $2000 price. So, ethereum is the best way.

In the next five years ethereum may get to  $2,000 but it might not outperform bitcoin as bitcoin has proof to be gold standard for others coins. We should buying bitcoin now if we really want to get rich in future as many speculators are saying we would get to $40,000 before this time next year. Ethereum on the other hand has tried to break  $500 area for a very long time and successful breaking that level will push it above  $1,000 which may not happen this year again.

The only strategy  that matter in cryptocurrency investment is time. Time value of your investment in bitcoin or ethereum is very huge. If you consider the underline technology (Block chain) and it's breakthrough nature of decentralization, then you will realize that any development in the said cryptocurrency means more money for you.

when you compare bitcoin with an altcoin you should remember than there is one bitcoin but there are thousands of altcoins. for example in this case there are at least a dozen projects like ETH out there doing the same thing and some of them doing it even better!

ETH has a serious scaling issue which comes up every now and then when some ICO is having some transctions on chain or something like this new cryptokitties comes up and clogs up the network pretty easily and causes everything to turn into hell. and things will only get worse from now on. and when you are talking about long term, this can cause a lot of problems for the adoption and the price of it. and that is while other projects (even the original chain called ETC) have no issues like this.

No one can say the exact future of Ethereum or all of the cryptocurrencies as a whole. You could say ethereum predictions and speculations. I have some thoughts about it lately, Ethereum is now bleeding as we can see BTC is rising and most of the alts are inversely related to it.

if everything goes smooth, maybe it will reach around $1,200 in the year 2018. More companies are investing in Ethereum, it is flexible and allows so called smart contracts. There is a lot of features that Ethereum has and can lead to it's price hike in the next few years.

Well if you're gonna compare BTC to ETH bitcoin for sure is much better, although Eth is a good coin too its not the same as bitcoin but you can profit a lot just by holding it too for long term and there's less risk than bitcoin i can't really tell how much will eth rise but i am sure that you can really have a really great profit if you are playing your card right and making the right decision.

I suggest to both of them. Bitcoin is like USD of cryptocurrency and ETH is likely the way of increasing capital for a business so both of them are important.

My recommendation is both. Invest in bitcoin as well as ETH. Both the crypto currencies are built for different reasons and both are the pioneer in its own field. ETH is holding the second spot in crypto currency market since the longest time in terms of market cap. No other currency has come even closer to ETH and bitcoin. In 5 years, I see both bitcoin and ETH touching the moon. While bitcoin being the pioneer in crypto market but ETH is pioneering the smart contract platform. It is also technologically superior that bitcoin. When I started with crypto market, the ETH price was just $3 and I regret that I didn't buy at that time. I would have been a millionaire by now. So my recommendation would be both, bitcoin and eth.

shoule we think about other blockchains such as NEO? we are now seeing how bad ETH deal with bottle-neck problem. Only one crytokittycat can almost kill ETH network. Cant imagine if we have 10 ctyptokittycat.

Well, if being popular and more enthusiasts will get it then bitcoin would be the best option but Ethereum has very big chance that it will grow up more and we never onow that in a short span of years it will be in a thousand bucks too. Centralized currency should be comes first in the cons list. But he stated scaling the is top that should not be first according to me. We found that ethereum is faster than the bitcoin transaction and its gas price little lower than the bitcoin wallet does.
I see that today blockchain wallet to send the bitcoin to different wallet for 15 USD almost. We have to get this transaction value reduced in the blockchain. I am really worry that why we do not found solutions for the fees issue in blockchain wallet alone. Others does not increased these much.

Bitcoin or Ethereum are the best coins which we should invest in. If i have to choose one i will choose Ethereum that was named Bitcoin 2.0.IN 2017 the price of Ethereum was increase 45x and  I think the price of Ethereum will grow more at least 10x.

I love to use both bitcoin and ethereum, i use ethereum for ico investment, and long term investment, also i think it has faster transactions than bitcoin, but bitcoin has high value and so many investors using it.

Ethereum showed excellent growth in the first 6 months of this year, but has since stopped in development and even significantly decreased in relation to bitcoin (6 times from june to december). For me Bitcoin is an excellent speculative asset at the moment, having bought which, you will surely not lose. Also of course it is one of the best tools to save my savings. But 10-20% of my portfolio I also invest into Etherium, bucause of its stability.

This is not the accurate question. We don't have to chose between bitcoin and ethereum only. There are many of others available in the market. Future of ethereum is very good if you mean 5 year long time.

So even though we can't see what the future brings, at least we can safely say that it will do go because of such news. Also I advise you to read EEA (Enterprise Ethereum Alliance). Their aim is to connect fortune 500 companies to apply and implement smart contracts on startup and existing system. Yeah eth is next in line because bitcoin has crossed the high level of popularity and people are now thinking about other coins as well because they don’t have enough money to buy bitcoin and all they want to do is invest into the altcoin and earn money and then invests into the bitcoin to achieve the higher value profit and here eth is in good moves nowadays and it will take people to their desired level to earn from bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the most popular crypto currency and can be considered as the major crypto currency. Choosing between bitcoin and ethereum? I will choose both because they are both good as investments. Bitcoin is very profitable because it continue to grow and is growing on a fast rate on the other hand, ethereum  as the leading altcoin is also important as it is mostly required to be use for making transactions on exchanges like Etherdelta. I don't think that ethereum will ever beat bitcoin on being the leading crypto but when it comes to holding these two make such a good team and as an investment.

I do not know much about Ethereum. But I know for sure that its value is not like that of bitcoin. However, if you are patient enough and you are able to wait for 4 years or more, I am sure that its value will grow just like any other cryptocurrency. But I do not think it will surpass bitcoin.

My advice for you is to stick with bitcoin. I know that it has grown so fast. Yet, everything has its ups and downs. Just give it some time and it will go down again so you will be able to purchase it with a reasonable price. It is all a matter of patience if you ask me.

Good points. The best answer to this question is your purpose and aim for buying any of the two. If you would ask me, I would be a little greedy and choose to actually buy both, Eth for future investment, because right now, you would certainly have to invest a lot of patience with altcoins because it is in a stand still right now due to the surging bitcoin price. On the one hand, I would get some bitcoins for quick market circulation because it's a good investment right now due to its price increasing more and more.

Ethreum is really a boon to newcomers of crypto world to invest into it but still I would choose Litecoin over ethreum because of the price and I feel Litecoin might take ethreum's position by the end of 2018 or so as we have seen tremendous increase int he value of Litecoin and still it is affordable and we can invest huge amount into Litecoin and hold on to it for a longer run .

I invest my profit on both currency 50% profit goes to eth and the 50% goes to bitcoin, we dont know maybe next year eth will rise as bitcoin right now

If you are looking for an alternative coin you may buy Ethereum as it could possibly reach $5000 -$6000 in five years. Of course there are also great alternative coins in the market.

What I am personally holding and will not sell for a long period of time are these coins:

Bitcoin - i have coins for holding and some for trading
Ethereum - I will hold for long term
Electroneum - will sell if price reach a dollar
Dash - will hold for long term
Litecoin - thinking of selling next year to buy another coin
Ripple  - will sell if price reach a dollar

My other stash are just a few coins like Doge, monero , iota and neo. I am planning to buy more of Neo and iota though.

Bitcoin is surpassing all the other cryptocurrency and people are looking more about to earn btc as the price is increasing day by day.Its not same with the Eth can be used for longer periods say for 5yrs where it may touch around $5000-$6000 in this period.So the better option is the Bitcoin

I don't know about ethereum future, but I can say it will survive and still the second after bitcoin. Most people ( not all ) will use technical indicator to analyze price action, use long term period ( week - month - year ) to get the correct prediction. Even that, we still need use stop loss and martiangle money management. Ethereum is a good option and hope success always with you.

I just can only to guessing,
Bitcoin and Ethereum.. I'm sure it would be continue to coexist so on.. In terms of its popularity and its benefits, I'm really sure Bitcoin and Ethereum would be still continue to provide the best side of the price movements and more prominent side than the others crypto coins.

What i see to ethereum in the next  5 years is the price will increases up to $3000 per eth. But it never get surpassing the bitcoin price for how many years have gone it will remain in the second place were they are good in forms of long term investment. Many users have used eth. Because it is constant development and a good community support tool.

It's the major and the one that started it all. That's why I said we had the best two choices for the cryptocurrencies that we had to choose. ETH reached $600+ which is a new ATH for it and the same goes for bitcoin. I'm not going to doubt it that one day ETH's value will go the same for bitcoin but during that time for sure bitcoin will be extremely expensive if that happens.

I think you can use ethereum for long term trading because for short trading it is better if you use bitcoin to make a profit. ethereum will take a long time to see the price is going to increase. but with bitcoin, you can see the price is changing in every time so you can try to buy and sell bitcoin in every day. but I admitted that trading bitcoin and ethereum can help us to search more profit especially if we use big money to trade the coins.

This prediction is a bit vague, because on what analysis are you saying that etherum will give more profit in next five years, I think bitcoin will give more profit than etherum if you invest in it, because so far it has not lost the confidence of all their investors and it is not going to loose it in the future as well.

each of them has each benefit , bitcoin was the revolution , like the first one who climbed Everest , every one who hear about cryptocurrency think about bitcoin unconsciously , but ethereum used that block chain invention better and more optimized , another differences is the total supply , the bitcoin total supply is about 21 million when ethereum is about 100 million coins so thats a huge number compare with bitcoin supply , i have both of them in my portfolio but more bitcoin because i believe in it , and it has less back trace than ethereum if u see the chart view from beginning.

I'm afraid what you said was truth because almost every altcoin update there tech time to time and bitcoin operate 7 transactions per second while ethereum operate 15 transactions per second as we speak.

i think if i have to choose between ETH and BTC, i will not choose one, because these are two of the most important coins on the cryptocurrency market.
