Does it make any sense to buy Bitcoin now? Isn't the price too high? Will it ever offer 30 000% returns?

Probably people thought same thing when price was about 50$


Hard to know, and probably hard to achieve, but I think about 3000% return is still real to do (ofc not surely)

It is always better to buy bitcoins because the price of bitcoin will keep increasing forever.So it make sense if we buy bitcoin now.
The price of bitcoin is too high now but in few year the price of bitcoin may reach $1M so when compared both price currenct price is too cheap.
Maybe it will give 30000% if your investment in long term like more than 10 years.

People had this exact same thought and question when bitcoin was at $300 and look at where it is now.
So it will always make sense to buy bitcoin depending upon your holding strategy. If its a long term then you can buy anytime, but if you are into just day trading and quick profit, then you'll have to think about when is the best time to buy and sell.

Agreed. I also think it is time to buy even more because all indicators are showing that bitcoin is going to hit 20K first and keep on its journey.

Some say that Bitcoin will fall. Then it doesn't make sense.
Some say that Bitcoin may get to 20-20k before the year ends. If you believe them, you better buy asap.
We can't tell what's going to happen. I believe that even if it may fall, it will also recover to even higher levels.



300x returns? No. But some say it could easily reach 1 million until 2020. That's 58x, not very bad.
However, if this is what you expect, you better stop investing now; with such expectancy you'll fall for Ponzi schemes and you'll lose your money.


All in all, if you believe that Bitcoin is a good project, if you believe it didn't reach its maximum potential, then you can buy.
If you are just a speculator wannabe, you have a lot more to learn before starting to work on real money.

That's a total incongruous thing you're expecting here. 30,000% return is absolutely insane, it's a investment but duh.. Why do people want to expect so much by literally doing nothing? Agreed to some extent that people are lazy including me but still. 30,000% return is not the expectation that one should have, rather one should have something which is reasonable and sensible. Go and give a little use to your freshly installed brain.

Hahah you wish, the main topic of this holiday season will be bitcoin. It will only go up, maybe, maybe not. But if the prices continue to climb FOMO would only get bigger. I can see 23-25k per a bitcoin till new year.

It definitely does make sense. 2018 will also be a bullish year for bitcoin or generally cryptocurrencies. There was surge in demand in last quarter of the year 2017. During this quarter, many new investors and banks came into bitcoin bringing in billion dollars. Same or rather better will continue in 2018. Bitcoin has just gone into mainstream economic landscape. It has potential to grow more before it ultimately becomes a bubble and burst.

This questions had been asked many times before, whenever Bitcoin price reaches another all time high and Bitcoin still continue to break its record and then people will ask the same queston over and over again. There are still a lot of countries, businesses and people that can potentially adopt Bitcoin so there is no reason to stop investing on it. It may not be the right time to buy Bitcoin if you want to make profit in short term but it can still give you huge profit if you will just buy now and hold it for a year or two.

Yup it is reasonable to invest in Bitcoin now. But if you want a 30 000% return of investment, you will need to wait for years because Bitcoi's market value is volatile even if it is continuously increasing for a long run. That's a big percentage and it would take years for that interest to be reached so patience is a must.

I think so. Let's assume that Btc now is cheap prize 17699$ when we compared to the coming prize assuming of 20000$ in 2018 January. Just a presumption.

this is my assessment:
POSITIVES: limited supply, greatest market cap, more and more adoption including futures traders
NEGATIVES: expensive to transfer, slow transactions, overloaded network
i would invest half you proposed amount and decide on the other half over the course of the next 2 weeks when you see what way the market goes.

It depends on your budget it you can buy at least half or quarter of it. Check the growth of it, look and read articles about the market. And also about the return investment is hard to say because bitcoin is unstable.

Investing in bitcoin is a long-term plan. It is possible to make a lot of profit.

it makes sense to buy bitcoin now before the price is flying high. I agree that the price is too high but fortunately, you can buy bitcoin with partial and not the whole 1 bitcoin. you can buy bitcoin in any part you want and make sure that you can buy at the down price. we don't know if its offer 30,000% in returns or not, as long as we still using bitcoin and try to increase the amount, I think in the future, we can see that we are making a huge profit.

i think the price will grow but the most ppl jst trade with bitcoin and not use it. In the End it can be overpriced but theres no real value behind it. Well it would make sense because from own point of view of market Bitcoin would reach on even $25k by this month or maybe by the coming of 2018. You can earn a profit of it, if bitcoin never reach that mark maybe altcoins would pump either as what I heard from many rumors.

Yes, but now we are getting closer to the money limit the world has. There are ~350 Trilion Dollars in the world. Bitcoin won't have all of it. It will soon have 1 Trillion. If I buy now, I won't have that 30 000% return.

Lol of course it will not offer 30 000% returns but people still buy bitcoins right now. It's all about speculation, people thought the price of bitcoin will keep going high. In my opinion it's better to don't buy bitcoins for now, because the price is already reach $18,000. I'm afraid a correction will come.

In the near future bitcoin it makes sense to buy always. Even if it is at the peak of value, it will cost even more in six months. Pay attention to the proportion of its growth for 5-7 years. ;)

I think you need to wait a bit for the price go dip a bit but not on its highest price. We cannot say how will the price go down this month but there's a possibility to increase much more. Once you bought Bitcoin, just hold it for a month or two because the increase will continue until Feb 2018 as I've read the news but still we cannot predict what will happen in the future. For me, just wait for a dip or a bit low price to buy Bitcoin. I suggest, you need to read the news so that you will get an idea on when to buy. Just be patient and wait for the perfect timing to buy. Also, don't be afraid to take a risk as this is form part of trading. Just enjoy and have fun.

yes it makes more sense if you bought bitcoin, at this rate , bitcoin price is totally too high to get involve/invest, but im pretty sure that your investment in bitcoin will grow up to 200% in return, because as you can see, from the past (few months later) bitcoin price pump and hit these all time price hike ($18k) and its toward now to hit $20k by this year end. so if you have more doubts about buying bitcoin, it is up to you if you will buy/invest in bitcoin.

But you know there are many investments that are more profitable over the short-term than bitcoin. If you invest, maybe you should look further, not only considering profits but also what bitcoin allows..

A whole part of the community is trying to build new businesses, develop new opportunities and fight for more freedom. Not just individual profit  ;)

Last, no one can grant you potential profit. If you buy bitcoin only for trading.. well buy only what you can afford to lose and good luck!

30,000 % return? are you serious? if you bought bitcoin at 1 USD your are already at 17,000 % return. but for now i think it is impossible to say.

I dont think bitcoin will reach 1 million usd because the financial industry would not allow that to happen.

Every time i see this question , i come up with one question .. Aren't you aware of the market and bitcoin's value . It is never a bad time to buy bitcoin . You are definitely going to get some profit sooner or later . You must take the inspiration from the old holders who had that patience and persistence to hold bitcoin when it was just $100 or below.

Why would people forget about the cryptocurrencies after holidays? That makes no sense to me.
Anyway, now isn't exactly perfect time for buying Bitcoins the price is heading towards 18000$  and more but still if you have some extra funds to invest, go for it. This is not the peak of Bitcoin price and I beleive next year the price could go to 25000$ so it's still not too late to invest, it's just expensive.

It's still not too late to buy Bitcoin. Because in the long term Bitcoin will grow tens of times. However, in the short term, you can wait for a correction, which most likely will not be until January next year. It's up to you to buy or not now. Nobody can say you clearly.

Get a time machine and pick up some bitcoin from 2010.

Its already gone up 6,000,000 x its original price. Yes 6 million! Normally 2x-10x is a great return. Even if bitcoin somehow climbed all the way to $100,000 that would still only be a 6x increase from where it is.

When you think about how it has gone up 6 million times its original price and realize how little room there is for it to keep going, it starts to make more sense to SELL bitcoin than to buy it. Why would you want to buy at the very highest price?

Doesn't make sense to me either.   This last thanksgiving actually showed an immense rise in BTC interest (googletrends) and price.

O yes it really  makes sense, because now is the largest amount of btc that is growing, and btc is very fast to earn now because of many investors and increasing of the value of btc. People are now getting rid about it because it is very expensive to sold, and it is just one btc how much more if it grows and grow.

Yeah, you can buy bitcoin now because still so many institutional investors are not yet started investing bitcoin. This will be started once CAME, Nasdaq start its futures and ETF approvals are still pending.

You can still buy believing that it will grow to your profit.

If you are in a situation of buying and selling and gain early profits then this price is too high for you but if you have patience and you are long term hodler then this price is also good for you because these thoughts emerge on everyone's mind even if the price is low. So anytime is best if you are long term hodler and returns will be unimaginable so the choice is yours.

like the poster above me said, it depends on your goal, if it's for a long term investment (buy, store and forget) it is indeed the right moment to buy because from now on it can only increase the value (with some drops here and there), for trading? well, it's a bit too high but you can always try with a small amount of cash and see.
The basic idea is to buy and forget, long term investment and don't listen to FUDS around, invest what you can lose and live happily!

people always check the current price bitcoin and always ended up not buying because they think that bitcoin price are already high. If you are going to buy right,  you can still make profit in a long term goal.

How long does one wait until the price drops if it even drops to a level that you are looking for? I think if you have the funds to buy bitcoin then just go ahead and buy it.

Will it ever offer the crazy % return that we have seen already? maybe as you never know what is around the corner, I think we will see the price at least double in the short term.

Asking this question is like asking in Playstation board/forum whether to buy Playstation or not.
If u ask it here, I think most will encourage u to buy.
Not pouring cold water to anyone, is a bit tricky to know when btc bubble bursts... but sooner or later it will for sure.
As the price is really high now, once the bubble bursts, other crypto will more or less affected as well. (Due to fear or spread of media)

A lot of pikachus lived near a village.

Pikachu is worth around $2 to few dollars.

One day a merchant came to the village to buy these pikachus!

He announced that he will buy it @ $100 each.

The villagers thought that this man is mad.

They thought how can somebody buy wild pokemon at $100 each?

Still, some people caught some and gave it to this merchant and he gave $100 for each pikachu.

This news spread like wildfire and people caught pikachus and sold it to the merchant.

After a few days, the merchant announced that he will buy pikachu @ 200 each.

The lazy villagers also ran around to catch the remaining pikachu!
They sold the remaining @ 200 each.

Then the merchant announced that he will buy pikachus @ 500 each!

The villagers start to lose sleep! ... They caught six or seven pikachu, which was all that was left and got 500 each.

The villagers were waiting anxiously for the next announcement.

Then the merchant announced that he is going home for a week. And when he returns, he will buy pikachu @ 1000 each!

He asked his employee to take care of the pikachus he bought. He was alone taking care of all the pikachus in pokeballs.

The merchant went home.

The villagers were very sad as there were no more pikachu left for them to sell it at $1000 each.☹

Then the employee told them that he will sell some @ 700 each secretly.

This news spread like fire. Since the merchant buys pikachu @ 1000 each, there is a 300 profit for each pikachu.

The next day, villagers made a queue near the employee.

The employee sold all the pikachus at 700 each. The rich bought pikachus in big lots. The poor borrowed money from money lenders and also bought pikachus!

The villagers took care of their pikachus & waited for the merchant to return.

But nobody came! Then they ran to the employee.

But he has already left too !

The villagers then realised that they have bought the useless wild pikachu @ 700 each and unable to sell them!


It will make a lot of people bankrupt and a few people filthy rich in this pikachu business.

The problem is that everyone wants to earn so much returns on their investment that they believe.  they are living back in 2010 but things have changed over the past. Bitcoin market cap is nearly $ 298,831,741,200 at this stage, the potential to rise more is getting narrow everyday. Bitcoin still holds the potential of raising your money to 2x-3x but 30,000% return is really unbelievable now. But this could also be possible but for reaching that goal it may take nearly a decade to achieve that amount.

In my opinion, yes it does make sense to buy bitcoin now, for the past few months at around $3k, we thought that the price was already high and there are a lot of speculations that the bubble will burst, but, the opposite happened and the price even grew exponentially. Even though it has all the signs of a bubble, it still has the potential to replace fiat in the future and the technology behind it is very useful across the globe. Bitcoin is a revolution in this modern generation just like Internet, smartphone, and other things that we thought before has no value.

The value limit for the bitcoin is not fixed, the bitcoin value is still raising even it was very low as compare to the value before 2 months ago. In two month the value raised at this stage that no body was predict before. So the sense of the buying of the bitcoin is still very good and can be continue as the value is still raising. If the limit of the bitcoin value is fixed and bitcoin have get the value then the sense of the buying may effect.

I would not buy bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency) when it standing that high in its price.

I think if we just focus at the price this might affect your trust to invest at cryptoworld, if we cannot fully understand the value of this affect we cannot truly adjust our self into the next generation. act now before it's too late. 

it depend on our point of view i think. to those who have buy bitcoin in the early time for a lower price, buying bitcoin at this high price does not seem to make any sense. but to those who believe that it will keep on increasing, there is no reason not to buy bitcoin, at any price. to get 30.000 % return you need to be a little patient, as i it may take years to achieve.

Everytime this ques. arises when BTC his a new record price. Everytime people answer the same the thing that wait for correction and dips to buy BTC.
But I suggest is that Everytime is the best time to buy Bitcoin. Yes, don't invest all you saving in one slot as it can be too risky to do so. But start buying from today only and invest gradually as you gain experience and confidence in crypto-market.

Yes, For long time investment it still does have a potencial growing up to x3 from today's price in 2-5 years. for short time i would not even prefer investing on bitcoin.

It's hard for you to get 30,000% in return with this price. use logic sir. That is like $530,189,700 Each for today's price if your looking for a x30 markup that's nearly imposbile.

Altcoins will continue to offer better returns than BTC. Until they have passed BTC, BTC right now has a hard cap due to low transaction volume limit. Any half-hearted attempt to upgrade the network such as lightning will not end the congestion, it's a band-aid on a bullet hole.

There's nothing wrong with buying 0.01 BTC though. I do hold a small amount, I think other currencies are actual currencies but some BTC is a good idea.

In my opinion, it's never too late. Take my example: I bought at 8000$ and everyone said I bought it way too high, but there is no such thing as "high" for bitcoin since it always gains value. Maybe you bought it "high" for the week but in a month or so people will say that you bought low, which is good.

It depends whether you believe in BTC. If you think BTC have room to grow, it is alright to buy at the price now.

For myself, I will still buy at the price now. I believe BTC will worth alot more than the current price.

Everything is possible with Bitcoin however I think you should choose the right time to invest. When Bitcoin hits the top and is almost impossible to increase, it is likely that you will never get the profit you want. It sure does make sense! This time last year ... It depends on your strategy weather to buy or not BTC now, but I think it worth trying in way if you don't spend all your money on BTC.

yes we can say somehow it make sense to buy bitcoin because nobody knows it will drop or not. Bitcoin currently is in very bullish trend according to the chart analysis but nothing can be said with confirmation and you are expecting 30,000% that is too much but we don't know where btc will stop in coming years.

Buying bitcoin will certainly make sense whether it is now ir later because it is now getting known , recognized and adopted all around the world ! Anyone who bought 1$ worth of bitcoin in 2012 has now more than 1M dollars and who knows maybe who will invest now will have the same fate .

It is good but if you buy it today and then decide to sell your bitcoin tomorrow will surely give you lose. If you want profit and you want to earn high profit in short time you should go for bitcoin investing and for this you should buy it right now if you will not buy right now then it will not give you profit. Gradually bitcoin price is increasing and it is not going to stop growing so you still have the opportunity.

Buying bitcoin now is not that bad idea. Even tho it is expensive now compared to few months ago, but, that's the price. You can't change that. Waiting for a drop is not a wise move because unfortunately there are no signs of drop or at least that's what expected. If you're thinking about buying, i would say go ahead before it gets more expensive.

I think buying bitcoin will always and forever make sense, anytime, anywhere and anyhow. And this is according to the statistics of this virtual money and the price that keeps growing up till a long period. In the meantime, your question will not make sense, in any case and in any setting. Since, the bitcoin is the new gold and holding a fraction of this last worth a wealth sooner or later.
 

Maybe as a newbie like me, I would not put the interest to buy bitcoin now because I needed to learn more about tradings or whatsoever now. Time will take as long process and even though the proved value spoke on the current profitable price, well it still needs learning so that I will have proper knowledge with regards on trading.

This question have been asked several times in this forum. Every time the price rise, there are many people who are hesitant about buying bitcoin. I think now we are at the same situation and Bitcoin price will rise and rise. So, Buy bitcoin as much as you can afford.

I think dont purchase a bitcoin at this moment because it is too high to afford it just wait until the time has come that bitcoin will go back to its normal value.

I have heard this so many times. ''Bitcoin is expensive now and you should wait'' But bitcoin price have risen after that again and those who wait, have to buy it at higher prices after a while.

In my opinion buying bitcoins will always be worthwhile, but you should be aware that this market is very volatile and not every new investor has the right profile to withstand these large swings that can lead to the price up or down 20% or more in question of hours.

I do not think it makes sense, maybe you can try observing bitcoin prices at the end of 2017, because I see that bitcoin sat down.

I will suggest you to buy now if you have any amount of money and do not worry for the price right now because it is still a very lower price if we think about the future price. In my case I am buying bitcoins even at this relatively high price because I am convinced that by 2018 the price of bitcoin will skyrocket to unsuspected levels as many are predicting due to the interest it is generating in the big markets. Sure, keep observing till you see the market smash through the $50k level. It's basically like how people were expecting the $10k level to be a point of massive resistance from where the market would 'definitely' go down. Waiting for that to happen resulted in a price that we in today's time experience, so observing in a bullish market will likely only end up working against you. In some cases, especially in a market as bullish as the one we're in right now, you have to pull the trigger sooner than usual to not miss out too much -- every single day you choose to wait can result in the market to be $500-$1000 more expensive.

Earlier,we didn't expect bitcoin price to rise from $1,000 to $5,000 in the beginning of the year and then from $5,000 to $17,000 within few months.The positive thing is that even wall street firms ave changed their attitude admitting that bitcoin is unstoppable and the huge media exposure which bitcoin is getting nowadays.

I can understand that after a huge price rally, everyone is rushing with their money to invest in Bitcoin but like I always suggest, don't focus on what you can gain but consider what you might lose down the road and invest the amount which you can afford to lose and anything other than that is a profit for you. As far as price is concerned, I am expecting a correction in the price soon so buying for the short term is not a wise decision in my opinion. I am expecting a good performance in the long run but I am also aware of the risk factor that can lead up to 100% loss so be careful with your decision.

If the past week has been any example along with all the price bloat from the people that just jumped on the ship, if there’s a sharp dip and those new buyers panic sell then you could get back on the train at a great price.
