Even when others seem to come and go. No cryptocurrency is a lucrative investment for sure. Yes i know that there is a new web page, but i just think that we can do much better. Need to put out the whitepaper, a new roadmap would be great as you mentioned. The previous dev gave up and started working on another coin, which so far seems like the wrong choice We're currently setting up a website where you can purchase Gadgets with the SuperCoin logo on it. The profits will be used to hire a developer to make changes and improvements. I was working on the linux wallet but due to the holidays and a couple of other reasons I didn't have much time to spend on it the last couple of weeks. But a fresh year brings a new start, so I plan to dive back into it. This is also something we could use a developer for. Or to address the memory usage of the wallet for example. As for the exchanges, yes cryptopia seems like a good idea! Perhaps also bitgrail. Also something we're working on. We're scheduling a meeting with a couple of us who are actively working on SuperCoin somewhere in the next couple of weeks. The best thing to do is to: -backup your wallet.dat file -remove the supercoin folder -start the supercoin wallet program (which will automatically recreate all the files and folders) -use the blockchain snapshot to speed up your sync -let is sync completely -copy back your backupped wallet.dat to the supercoin folder That should solve your problem :) Process will take a bit time but you'll be okay.We should backup wallet.dat time to time coz if that file get corrupted from these situation, all of our coins will be gone. I backup entire Supercoin folder time and again, so if such problem occurs, I can just use that backup and sync from that point rather that syncing from scratch. I understand all that. However you are in a pond with a lot of big fish. You need to stand out above the crowd, or at least blend in. When I look at the website, I don't get excited. My penis stays limp, I shrug my shoulders and I move on. "Keep it moving, nothing exciting to see here". I know it all takes money, but just food for thought. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if you find out the reason why that exchange backed out is as simple as they looked at your website. People want to know their money is well invested and that includes an exchange. The things you say: When I read your posts, they are in generalities. I don't know what exchanges you contacted, I don't know who turned you down, I don't really know anything. It's as if you just write things to appease the readers just to give them something to read. No. You need to put good information in order to get outsiders, investors to want to get involved, to have a view, to give suggestions and so on. There should be back and forth communication, thoughts, ideas tossed around. I want to know detailed information. I want to know who, what, where, when, how and why. I hear what your saying and appreciate your honesty, so here's a short insight in SuperCoin, the team and the community. As you know, the original developers of SuperCoin handed it over to their successor and left the project a couple of years ago. The second dev also left to pursue the dev of another coin. This is where we stepped in. A couple of enthusiasts with a shared passion for SuperCoin. Because we, just like you, see the potential this technology has. And just like you, we want to see it survive and have its value rise back to all time highs. We're not some big corporation or enterprise, we're a small group of likeminded people. We try our best to be as active as we can be, but we all have day-time jobs, families and responsibilities with which we have to share our 24h/day. While this may sound as a bad thing at first, it's actually the opposite once you think about it. We're not in it for insta-richness. We don't have a hidden corporate agenda. We're in it for the passion. There was a time when nobody was looking after SuperCoin. Hardly any community, no website, no social activity at all, no support... We've created a new btctalk ann with updated info We've brought together people on discord We've created a new twitter account We've updated numerous crypto related websites with up-to-date info on SuperCoin We'vre reinstated a support mailbox We're developing a Linux wallet which, should be released soon I am aware that we have had some sub-optimal communication, even though one of our major our strong points is that we're a community coin. But every important decision is talked about in the discord channel or here on btctalk. It's hard to be a strong communicator when there's not that much to communicate about. the last thing we want is to be seen as team who talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. That's why we opted for not spamming the community with pointless updates that say nothing but rather spread the message when something's up. It has no banners or advertisements, which is already more than you can say about a lot of other coins who did get listed on other exchanges. They're relatively new and had big volumes in the beginning but now it seems to be dwindling. Transaction fees COULD be an incentive to keep a node running. Wallet download We've noticed that the mega.nz wallet download link does not always work. Therefore we'll make it available to download from another location. Get more peers for your wallet Sometimes you only get a handfull of peers/nodes for your wallet. Here are three tricks that may help: -1 allow incoming connections on port 19390 in your windows firewall -2 configure your home internet router to forward incoming connections on port 19390 to the ip of the pc running your wallet. -3 whenever you do see more nodes go to your wallet's "help" menu and select "Debug window". Open the "Console" tab and type "getpeerinfo". This will show you a list of connected peers. Note down all the ip adresses and ports, they should look something like: 91.176.48.153:51550 And add all these lines in your supercoin.conf file like so: addnode=91.176.48.153:51550 This will make sure your wallet tries to connect to those peers next time it starts up. VPS We're currently setting up a VPS. This is an online server which will function as an always-on wallet. It's currently still synching, so once that's done we'all have another node to which all wallets can allways synch. Have a nice day! There's actually an easy (albeit crude) fix for this: Create a new and empty wallet and move all of your coins from your old wallet to that one. Then just use that new wallet as your main one and the entire application will run a lot smoother. We are aware that price of SUPER is rather low at the moment. Don't be alarmed, this is caused by users on coinexchange and novaexchange who are dumping their coins (not just SUPER). They have simply not yet discovered freiexchange, crex24 and nlexch. We also have friendly and direct communication channel with all 3. We've personally tested and validated all 3 of these exchanges and have had nothing but positive experiences with them. Perhaps some people don't realize this yet but we now have more markets than we had on our old exchanges! So, amid all this exchange turmoil, we're actually improving our marketspread! This could be opportune moment to grab some cheap coins on coinexchange and transfer them to one of the current exchanges. BR, Holger Hi Holger That's odd, I haven't experienced this behavior myself. Have you tried restarting the wallet? It's always best to encrypt your wallet too, so no one can access it even if they get a hold of your wallet.dat file. You can also do a checkwallet from the console. Perhaps that clears it up. We're working on an update of the wallet, but we need funds for it and so far we've not collected enough. Another contributor made a small update already but we haven't had the time to review his changes. Which we would like to do before we make it publicly available, obviously :-) I agree, we need more nodes. The only way to do that is by getting users to run the wallet themselves. And for that we need to update it first. So in short: we're actively working on it but we need to dedicate some time to it and we need 0.1btc for the developer. There are even geese running around our office buildings these days! Maybe we should all work remotely more often. It has also become clear that researchers, medical personel, cashiers, truck drivers and many more are the backbone of our society. Not reality stars, sports players, bankers and certainly not politicians. Yet for some reason those are the ones who are seen as the most important ones. We're all on this spacerock together. We need a unified way of managing the few resources our planet has. One that puts the needs of the many ahead of the desires of the few. A self preservation society doesn't work. We're going to quit SuperCoin in about 2 months from now (end of March 2022). We don't have enough time (or knowledge) to progress the project any further. We've kept it alive for several years and now it's time to hand over the torch to someone else. We've learned a lot from it and we've met some great people with whom we'll stay in touch. It would be a shame to see the project go to waste so we're looking for ANYONE who would be interested. Whoever takes over can do whatever they want with the project, we just want to see it survive.
