Hi everyone

The new year brought some new... news!

Firstly
We're currently talking to a webmaster who's willing to take over the management of supercoin.nl.
More news on that soon.

Secondly
We've received a voluntary update on the source code.
The update is currently pending review.
More news on that soon as well.

Thirdly
We're still looking for 0.1BTC funds requested by an actual developer to do a complete update of our wallet including a fix for the memory usage.
So far we have zero contributions.
I'm personally looking into funding this myself, but combined with the cost for the blockexplorer, dns, website, vps wallet it will take a while to gather it.
Since the price of BTC is going up, it's becoming increasingly hard to scratch together 0.1BTC.

So feel free to chip in Smiley

Thanks for the good information  Smiley

I would like to draw your attention to a great exchange, try to familiarize yourself with it.
It is fast, very readable and intuitive and has a nice design.
I am very, very happy with its functionality.
The creator is one of the best crypto encoder, keesdewit (his design is also AMS).

Current cost of adding a coin is only 625$ - 0,075BTC

Thanks for the tip Greg!
We'll check it out.

Unfortunately we don't have any funds available at the moment to get listed.
We're still looking for 0.1BTC for the wallet update. Smiley

Maybe Keesdewit, will introduce SUPER to his exchange for free Smiley
Or we'll give him some coins.

I'll try to talk to him about it.

Hi.

I have noticed a change in my wallet amount in the SuperCoin Wallet. Earlier this year there was about 9600 SUPER. Now it reports about 8100 SUPER. The SuperCoin Explorer reports the correct amount, so I think there is a bug in the Super Coin Wallet v4.0.1.0

Any ideas, what to do about this?

Btw, we need more nodes.

Hi Holger

That's odd, I haven't experienced this behavior myself.
Have you tried restarting the wallet?
It's always best to encrypt your wallet too, so no one can access it even if they get a hold of your wallet.dat file.

You can also do a checkwallet from the console. Perhaps that clears it up.

We're working on an update of the wallet, but we need funds for it and so far we've not collected enough.

Another contributor made a small update already but we haven't had the time to review his changes.
Which we would like to do before we make it publicly available, obviously :-)

I agree, we need more nodes.
The only way to do that is by getting users to run the wallet themselves.
And for that we need to update it first.

So in short: we're actively working on it but we need to dedicate some time to it and we need 0.1btc for the developer.

Let us know if the inconsistencies in your wallet get resolved.

Have a nice day!

Hi.

checkwallet found the error.

{
"mismatched spent coins" : 3,
"amount in question" : 1567.09944619
}

I tried the repairwallet, too, getting the same result.

Restarted the wallet. The error was corrected.

Thank you for your clarifications, Gerry.

Hello all

We would like to wish everyone the best during these uncertain times.
It's easy to give in to the panic but just try not to.

Here are some personal tips:

Stay calm.
Stay indoors.
Have a cup of tea.
Call your families and friends regularly, you never know what they might be going through even if they won't ever admit it.
Enjoy the peace and quiet.
Play some games.
Watch some movies.
Make plans for when the situation improves again.
If you're interested, look into some cryptocurrencies or stocks, everything's down anyway. (but never invest money you can't afford to lose)

History always repeats itself in one way or the other.
Meaning that things will get better again.

This isn't the end of the world but we should take lessons from this event.

For example:
Nature is flourishing!
In Venice, China, beaches all over the world.
There are even geese running around our office buildings these days!
Maybe we should all work remotely more often.

It has also become clear that researchers, medical personel, cashiers, truck drivers and many more are the backbone of our society.
Not reality stars, sports players, bankers and certainly not politicians.
Yet for some reason those are the ones who are seen as the most important ones.

We're all on this spacerock together.
We need a unified way of managing the few resources our planet has.
One that puts the needs of the many ahead of the desires of the few.

A self preservation society doesn't work.
We ALL rely on others.
So let's treat everyone with the same level of respect.

In short.
Hang in there everyone!
And be excellent to eachother! <Bill and Ted>
