- What separates this from YAC in regards to GPU mining?
- Premine?

  • priority cutoff of 2880 blocks per day
  • 21 million total coins
  • ...

Could you explain the above a little more?
1) What is timetravel resistance and how do you do it?
2) Priority cutoff?
3) You mean 21 million total for POW mining? How is the POS interest rate?

YAC isn't GPU resistant, so how is your clone going to change that and for how long before someone modifys one as in the case with YAC.

How can you be sure if your jcoins are (and will be) GPU resistant? (math proof, computational evidences...what?)
Litecoin also meant to be a gpu-resistant, but it didn't remain so. You should try to explain how yours won't be so.

I think that the "only processor" currency is not good, because botnet owners will receive a lot of coins (and they will dump). At the same time, there is no botnet with a lot of graphics cards.
Best option: only the processors first time, but in month maximum -  appearance of GPU-mining.

First mass-produce ASICs for your new coin, dirt cheap USB miners $5 each or something.

Only once those are ready to ship is vast quantities release the coin they are to mine.

Or, separate distribution of the coins from securing the ledger/transactions, such as by using Ripple (once it becomes open source) method to secure it and the kind of "CPU mining" described at http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=cpu_mining to distribute the initial full number of coins ever to be minted.

That is a good point Fablio. essentially the main reason i decided to work with YAC over the more recent QRK. plus i really like the stake features of YAC, but i can't tell if they are just remnants of PPCOIN code(looks like it to me) or what the deal is with that. Everyone else, i will be answering your questions in due time. I must be on my way. Got a yard to mow and some data to review later. if every thing goes to plan i should switch from testnet over to mainnet this evening and release the coin. I plan on doing what kimoto did and making only the binary available initially... worked out good for MEC, don't see what it could hurt really. For simplicity sake, i will be providing 3 downloads:

- windows installer package( created with click team installer)
- example conf file
- zipped binaries for those who don't trust the installer package.

Pfff.... Botnets want to make money just like anyone else.  Therefore, they won't be fools and just dump it.  They will hold for profit like anyone else.

Thus, your argument doesn't seem to hold water.

This is starting to suck really hard.

Two big errors.

1) Releasing binary only - Booo.... MAN we need to review the source!
2) No linux binary?  - Booo.... If so, then that would essentially be a windows premine.

I hope you reconsider and do the right thing.

yes, i am looking for someone trustworthy to compile for linux.

if no one is found,  i want to wait a week before releasing the sources, or atleast long enough for the network to be secured. i'm really worried about the source falling into the wrong hands. it's ok if i have to delay the release a few days while you figure out how to compile it. you have a high activity count, but i can't base my trust of you solely on that. if you could perhaps get a mod or highly respected/trusted member to vouch for you, i would feel alot better about sending you the sources.

also, while we are on the subject, could you possibly crosscompile for mac, and if not, is their anyone else here who can/would be willing?

I hear what your saying, but there is nothing malicious in the code.  Kimoto didn't release the MEC sources, which is a smart move. prevents network from being vulnerable early on. if no one has the sources they can't alter the code and destroy it, and i like that.

3) NO MAC Wallet

Why do you think it is a fair start for EVERYONE if new coins either only has a Win wallet or a Linux wallet or both of them.
Take SPT for example they start with all three majors OS.

If I was able to create a coin you could be sure that I'd never start before being fully prepared.

(no whitepaper, no source analysis, no builds for all three OS, no website, list goes on and on)

Why do you even release. This will be another one of those coins which will shoot up for 72 hrs and then die.

This, unfortunately, is the world we live in.  Trust vs people tweaking the code, sometimes maliciously.
My suggestion: release a partial source, so people can see it's not malicious.
Let the whiners whine and the bleaters bleat, if they refuse to trust you, then they can miss out when the coin launches.
It's your launch, it's your right.  Good luck!

You don't sound confident in the code.  Maybe the source will never be released.  How can we know?

If you are aware of security issues with the code, then you should not release it.

How about releasing the source ahead of time (without the genesis block), say 1 hour, for review?  Then folks can review the code and point out any bugs or security issues before it goes live.

I don't know about other users, but I'm not running any binaries (even Linux) unless I can review the code for trojans, viruses, etc.

a brief analysis of the block rewards has been posted, as well as premine information and release schedule. to the questions posted thus far

1. I would like to have Mac/Linux Binaries ready upon launch, if possible. it depends on if anyone can step up and compile for each OS. if the community is ok with it, these would be paid positions, ie. the person who does it gets paid out of the bounty fund.
2. If you do not trust downloading the binary you may choose to wait 1 week after launch.
3. I am not aware of any security flaws in the code, but that doesn't mean that they don't exist.
4. I will not cave an upload the source to anyone other than the MAC and LINUX compilers.
5. The source will be uploaded to BitBucket when i feel the network is secure enough.
6. Rather than stripping the source, instead I'll release the sources to Salty Spitoon or any other moderator/hero member the userbase deems trustworthy for review prior to release. i would assume this may postpone the release a few days. beggers can't be choosers.

DogtownHero is, by his own admission, r3wt's alt. So not sure why you are surprised.  Last time some of his source was released it didn't go so well.

6. Rather than stripping the source, instead I'll release the sources to Salty Spitoon or any other moderator/hero member the userbase deems trustworthy for review prior to release. i would assume this may postpone the release a few days. beggers can't be choosers.
Sounds like a good plan.

Your first point: it was a messy coding job, and above that it was a last minute deal altogether( compiled and thrown on web in less than 24 hours). i made more than a few mistakes on that job and i'm working with iGotSpots to build a better GasCoin. he's stipulated i make a public apology to the community prior to re-release of GASCOIN, and i will do it. there were several flaws in the design of that coin(wasn't my choice, i do what the customer asks for, he announced it would be ready at 7pm before i even had the chance to test on testnet) and i'm slowly getting him to open his mind to some alterations that will allow the coin to be succesful.

right now my projects are:

CraftCoin diff fix & Fork.(Justin and I completed last night)

Nanotokens Fork and Diff fix.(chain got stuck at 18420 blocks, code fixed, now its a matter of compiling. probably do that next.)

J-coin release.(expect to be finished by tonight. tweaking the POS code to allow me to override nBits(by looking for nHeight and nSubsidy instead).too many arguments error.  release will be postponed until all clients are available for 3 major OS.)

GASCOIN--complete rebuild. working on initial specs with iGotSpots. no premine this time.

hopefully after i get this released, NAN fixed and GAS re-released i will be able to take a break for a while.

by the way, a quick update on the current block rewards.

Code:

//*rewards*//
static const int64 nMin = .777 * COIN; // minimum subsidy
static const int64 nA = 777;          //premine variable 1
static const int64 nB = 228.7992277992278; // premine variable 2

static const int64 nG = 15; //normal reward variable

    int64 nSubsidy = (nMult * 5.18) * COIN; //DUH muthafuggin' genesis block ya heard! 7.77 coins

else if (nHeight > 32000) {nSubsidy = (1* nE) * COIN;} // 4 coins per block

or is it claimed some other blackmailer somehow took control of that repo from R3wt?

-MarkM-

That is not true. i never blackmailed Vlad, he stretched the truth on numerous occasions of what went on between us in PM's. he said he didn't know how to use GIT, and asked me to keep control of the repo. then after shit hit the fan he demanded access to the repo. i had to dig through my email to find the email from shakezula with the username and password. i never even logged in. after i sent him the coins, he apologized in the thread and in pms for his boisterous statements.

i want to wait a week before releasing the sources, or atleast long enough for the network to be secured. i'm really worried about the source falling into the wrong hands...

Are you for real? If you want to see the source of this coin, here it is:

https://github.com/foocoin/mehcoin

Yes, that's right, now you too can clone your own Ya/Yb coin. Of course this works with the various foocoin bits and deps, if you're looking for "what" to change, google scrypt jane minimal changes and you'll get the gist.

We aren't sure when it's going to come out, and chances are (due to the clutter in the altcoin section) most people will miss it's release date. Once you have everything wokred out, please set an release date (exact hour and such).

i am being truthful. i did it out of spite then i felt bad about it and deleted it, and pm'd the credentials to Vlad instead.

i don't care if you don't trust me. doesn't affect me at all. i made my amends and now i'm working on repairing things with Gascoin. i did nothing wrong to Vlad. he apologized to me for making those false claims against me about the repo. only thing i did was refuse to send him the entire premine. at the time, he had me in charge of the coin and i had most of the premine in my NUG wallet. i wanted to start some bounties, but everytime i asked about he would just gripe that the coin was worthless, and to send him all the coins. i sent him every stinking dime even the ones i mined on my own, just to lay that demon to rest. my conscience is clear.

catch ya later troll.

Title: Re: [ANN] [CPU] J-coin pre announcement
Post by: DogtownHero on August 02, 2013, 11:00:36 PM
ok so here is the news: i was unable to get the block rewards to work, after days and days fighting with it. i've decided to do this instead:

leave block rewards at 1 coin per block. after 400,000 blocks, this will be reduced to .777 coins per block until the end of time. my partner and i, will mine a share of coins apiece prior to launch. probably 500 coins apiece. (500 blocks) this will mean that by the time the client is released, 1000 coins will already exist.

the good news is: the premine will be alot less.

the bad news is: 500+20 block maturity means 3 hours and 20 minutes for blocks to mature.

In the end, i felt the benefits of stake would be to great to ignore just to show off my fancy block rewards. Stake will be active at 5 * CENT or 5% per coin. this will provide checkpoints for the client as well as providing 51% resistance, not to mention the added bonus of stake in your wallet. stake occurs every 10 days.

In light of all this recent revelations, i have decided to withdraw my statement of not releasing the sources, and instead this is how we're gonna do it.

The linux users are always getting screwed, and having to wait until they get the client compiled to get to mine. so the source will be made available in the next 4-5 hours, then shortly after that the qt download will be made available.

starting N factor is 1024, and will climb to 8196 in the next 3 months, making GPU mining a non factor once it crosses over the threshhold of nFactor 8196.

Some future agendas of the coin will be :

bounties
botnet resistance

yes. it is compiled with upnp. no messing around with forwarding ports. just put the addnodes in the conf file( or wait for it to find the nodes) and type setgenerate true in the console window to  mine.

You are a big joke.  Every coin you try to release has issues.  Big Joke.

bad news, daemon can't connect. The linux guru's are on the scene. for a while it will be solo console/gpu mining. good news is, some great minds are digging through the source trying to get it to work on linux, so maybe just maybe a linux wallet will be available on launch. source link goes live in about 16 minutes.

Installer Pkg

Just for Mac Only?

i ditched the installer package for windows, but i can whip one up real quick if there is a demand for it. people around here are nervous of installer packages though, and for good reason. hard to find a trustworthy person around here.

Anyone knows where i can find a cpu miner for windows 32?

it comes with one built in. no conf file necessary, just open the console and type "setgenerate true" it uses upnp to mine, no opening/forwarding of ports necessary.

please answer:

  • Is UPNP needed?
    config file and nodes?
    Is it confirmed the joincoind daemon can be built?

I am compiling as I type.

ahmed built it, but couldn't get it to work on his server. kept failing out whining about the genesis block. not sure what the deal is.

If your head programmer for the pool is Ahmed, there's your problem.  Has he even had a real pool running?  Wasn't he scamming in one of his poools?  Wow two scammers working on the same coin/pool now.  Great team.

So you claim to have the Windows Wallet already and you still hold it for 30 extra minutes?  How fucking fair is that.  You are a retard.

Your coins are retarded.

Why not make it a fair release for everyone instead of a few who can compile for linux..  Release at the same time you scammer.

Premine crap for linuts users.

Give us the windows version at the same time.

good call, since the linux users have to wait while windows users get to plug and play on every other coin, far be it for me to try to share it with them.

since you decide to call me a scammer, i will give everyone who wants the qt wallet the link at the same time as the sources via pm, everyone but you. have a great night.

Is it 120 confirms?
 :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

520 confirms.

  j-coind: main.cpp:2580: bool LoadBlockIndex(bool): Assertion `block.GetHash() == hashGenesisBlock' failed.

ok, i'll post a fix for line 2580, with the correct genesis hash.

create a conf file name j-coin.conf
put this in it.
Code:
username=<whatever you want>
pass=<whatever you want>
rpcport=<whatever you want>
addnode=173.216.107.57

now forward the rpc port on your router

then go to the console and type

Code:
setgenerate true

2588? That's

        if (!block.AddToBlockIndex(nFile, nBlockPos))

maybe 2580?

edit, yep, you're right.

binaries and installer links have been updated in first post.

if you don't like the .7z just use the installer. it will even put a pretty little J-coin Icon and link on your desktop.

Your getting blocks in linux? from your original source, you know the one that came before the windows clients.

Maybe next time don't release the source early since you know it is completely pointless to do so...

Go to Debug, then Console Window, then type setgenerate true and hit enter.

Still no blocks for me yet though.  On any of the 6 computers/servers.

If your head programmer for the pool is Ahmed, there's your problem.  Has he even had a real pool running?  Wasn't he scamming in one of his poools?  Wow two scammers working on the same coin/pool now.  Great team.

bad news, daemon can't connect. The linux guru's are on the scene. for a while it will be solo console/gpu mining. good news is, some great minds are digging through the source trying to get it to work on linux, so maybe just maybe a linux wallet will be available on launch. source link goes live in about 16 minutes.

For youre info im not the head programmer, Try asking around. I have some solid pools running which the current miners can vouch for. Almost 24/7 support by either me or pr9me(another admin of my pools) neither of my 3 pools so far had had a minute of downtime since they were opened apart from a stalled cronjob which didnt stop mining but actually triple paid everyone out of my own funds. If you dont believe me ask the miners on my pools.Second try asking apbyte or abtixgroup on their redcoin payments and if they recieved them. I donated around 4 times their real shares by giving away all of the bounties i have recieved so far. If i was a scammer i would have negative feedback or a scammer tag. Name 1 public pool which hasnt had downtime or some kind of problem on the pool then come back and call me a scammer.

You are a big joke.  Every coin you try to release has issues.  Big Joke.

bad news, daemon can't connect. For starters, youre the joke, i myself have tried various coins of his and they have worked for me. If you believe you can do better which from past experience tells me you cant, then put your money where youre mouth is, bring out a duplicate copy and release it, then tell us what work needs to go into it

yep, its looking for the genesis block which hasn't been created yet. only happens if you don't have the blockchain yet. wierd i know, think it has something to do with the script used to create the genesis hash/merkle root. shakezula made the mehcoin repo(which this is based off of) so it included his special little function for finding the gen hash/merkle/nNonce(nunce) easy. should only happen once.

I don't understand why people think that CPU coins are somehow distributed more fairly than GPU. Between VPS, Botnets, and sysadmin's "personal" LANs, they wind up with the most centralized holdings of any coin on the market.

As for not getting any blocks, there's only 429 available. And what's the point of the 1 coin block reward? Are we all going to share? What the hell does the "J" stand for?

I have 50-80K coins a day and I sell them for ~0.2BTC

I don't understand why people think that CPU coins are somehow distributed more fairly than GPU. Between VPS, Botnets, and sysadmin's "personal" LANs, they wind up with the most centralized holdings of any coin on the market.

As for not getting any blocks, there's only 429 available. And what's the point of the 1 coin block reward? Are we all going to share? What the hell does the "J" stand for?
+1

its a long term crypto currency.

1 coin per block

block halving at 400k blocks, however it can't halve past nMin which = .777

proof of work dies at 21million coins, and stake carries it for 20million more blocks.

its an experimental cin, but i didn't intened it as a joke. i wouldn't do taht to the community just for a joke. maybe a fake announcement thread as a joke, but not a real client to have them waste their time mining.

the question that remains is, why the hell are so many people mining this coin?

Which is it?

How is it experimental if it's basically YAC with lower block reward? And are you drunk right now?

So I can't get this to build on linux.  I think the paths are all screwed in the 7z file as the sub directories are all empty. What am I doing wrong?

If it is just yac with lower block reward... what is the point and why are people mining it? i don't think i'll bother i notice these low block reward ones are seldom profitable unless they become very widely used.

Actually this coin is already DEAD, because of '1 coin per block'

But little bit interest, how this coin works.....

K.

The genisblock line fixed? Thanks

replace line 2588

with

Code:
assert(block.GetHash("0x000000c249386a215da8af52ccf04a8d8b175146844a73f0b6bfb25aa5081e50") == hashGenesisBlock);

2588? That's

        if (!block.AddToBlockIndex(nFile, nBlockPos))

maybe 2580?

edit, yep, you're right.

then

Code:
main.cpp: In function âbool LoadBlockIndex(bool)â:
main.cpp:2580:9: error: no matching function for call to âCBlock::GetHash(const char [67])â
main.cpp:2580:9: note: candidate is:

main.h:908:13: note:   candidate expects 0 arguments, 1 provided
make: *** [obj/main.o] Error 1

uploaded a fix for main.cpp

try it

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5V5vln-sS3EUllBZE9yZkh3VTA/edit?usp=sharing

The main.cpp from this link is totally different from the one of the 7z source package. It has the assert line fix mentionned earlier but also a lot of other changes, and anyway it doesn't compile (getHash is expecting 0 arguments and lots of other errors).

Here is the diff on main.cpp:

It compiles but assert (see my post above where I talk about the suggested fix and how this fix doesn't work in many ways).

Also the source .7z contains the mehcoind binary in src/.

if you installed with Jinstaller:

1. right click the program icon on your desktop

2. click properties in the drop down menu.

3. then click on the "Compatibility" tab.

4. select the checkbox that says "run this program in compatibility for..." "Windows XP Service Pack 3"  should be the first option. if its not, select it from the drop down menu.

5. click apply.

6. run the program.

Umm the version of main.cpp in the source is different to this.  The genesis block line is commented out.  WTF is going on?

thats the old genesis block. this was built on mehcoin, shakezula likes to comment everything out to give you an idea of what all has been changed.

Ok maybe it's just early here, but I'm still not following you. Are you saying I should use the original mehcoin source and modify that.  I tried modifying dogtownheros source but couldn't get it to run.

Why don't people just publish working code? The only reason I even want to use it is to try my modded GPU miner, which I can't without jcoind or a pool.

actually yes, if you modify mehcoin to the specifications of j-coin it should work, as long as everythings the same

ports
maxmint proof of work
maxmoney
targettimespan
pow target spacing
block rewards
genesis
merkle
nNonce
epoch
timestamp
etc.

. in fact DogtownHero should get on that asap....

Just in case anybody needs it (or is to lazy to edit two lines from the YAC cpuminer). Here's a modified version of cpuminer that should work with j-coin. Note, I just started testing it and I haven't gotten any blocks yet.

Can't run with win7 64bit ,how to do it?

if you installed with Jinstaller:

1. right click the program icon on your desktop

2. click properties in the drop down menu.

3. then click on the "Compatibility" tab.

4. select the checkbox that says "run this program in compatibility for..." "Windows XP Service Pack 3"  should be the first option. if its not, select it from the drop down menu.

5. click apply.

6. run the program.

The "compatibility" mode can't run yet, the application just stop. >:(

I thought reward was meant to be 5 after block 2000...

Code:

else if (nHeight > 2000 && nHeight < 10000)
{
    nSubsidy = 5 * COIN;
}

but

Code:
{
"blocks" : 2019,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 1.76140945,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : false,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 0,
"networkhashps" : 121806456,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false,
"Nfactor" : 4,
"N" : 32,
"powreward" : 1.00000000
}

It compiles but assert (see my post above where I talk about the suggested fix and how this fix doesn't work in many ways).

Also the source .7z contains the mehcoind binary in src/.

ok i will give you the correct variables. its up to you to plug them in

Code:
block.GetHash() == 00000d2ce10281089f47d707942122e011925e22a33aa06dd13959b12c1b80db

SetBestChain: new best=00000d2ce10281089f47  height=0  trust=1  date=07/30/13 04:28:51

That breaks down to:

merkle = 0x0e7abe3621183101283aa99a5b1fa9d345a1a6f56d90faa8b384b3af6e0d69bb

please let me know if that fixes it.

What is this now, a puzzle? A game where the goal is to successfully compile and run without asserts a coin that is released? If so this coin and memorycoin are the clear winner in that category.

The commented out code was what shakezula commented out in the original mehcoin sources. since everyone is having such a difficult time with this, and since r3wt bricked the sources i'm going to manually go through and prepare a clean copy of j-coin straight from the mehcoin repository. i'm sorry about the inconvenience.

This coin is going to change the world!

since r3wt bricked the sources i'm going to manually go through and prepare a clean copy of j-coin straight from the mehcoin repository.

I thought you were r3wt. Are you talking about yourself in the third person?

yeah, i am but apparently some people haven't realized it yet.

Transaction fee is too big (0.005) for such difficult to mine coin.

Too big!

every transaction destroys a portion of the supply, since the fee's can't be mined, theoretically meaning the coin is a bit rarer with each transaction.

Well the new source compile fine on Linux?

i don't know. you definitely need to have some debugging skills, but as far as the build this is the correct one. ahnmeds gonna try to build it later on Buntu

This is uncompilable. For example:

Main.h does not contain the hash of the genesis block (Line 48)
Code:
static const uint256 hashGenesisBlockOfficial("0x");
static const uint256 hashGenesisBlockTestNet("0x");

LoadBlockIndex(..) has a large chunk of code that's been deleted (Main.cpp, Line 2536)

Code:
    //
    // Init with genesis block
    //
    --- Block initialization should be here!
        // Start new block file
        unsigned int nFile;

Reference to non-existing methods (Main.cpp, Line 4204):
Code:
	    //thanks adam m for this fix to override nBits.
        if (pblock->IsProofOfWork())
            pblock->vtx[0].vout[0].nValue = GetProofOfWorkReward(pindexPrev->nHeight+1, nFees, pindexPrev->GetBlockHash());

bitcon-qt.rc refers to non-existing resource novacoin.ico (Line 1)
Code:
IDI_ICON1 ICON DISCARDABLE "icons/novacoin.ico"

Etc etc. There's just no way you can compile anything from this source.

lol, those minor errors are uncompilable to you? you must be super l33t.

It can be fixed and "filled" to a certain extent since the genesis block hash, merkle root hash and timestamps are known and it's just a modified version of the yacoin/novacoin source. However, releasing a known good source should be the bare minimum when releasing an open source coin (imo);  to date, I've seen nothing close to that. Instead of trying to crap on people, how about releasing the actual source used to build the windows client? Makes sense?  ;)

Those that understand the gravity of your statement will stop mining and walk away and the others ... will probably keep mining in ignorance.

well i'm obviously trying to produce a working source for the coin. it won't compile on linux for whtever reason, and i recompiled on windows this evening with the new source, and surprise the client doesn't connect to the network. i'm gonna keep pluggin at it tomrrow when i have time. i'm going to bed tonight, its going on 430 am

have i not been here every step of the way? everytime someone posts about a build problem and i see it, i come to help. granted i haven't been here as much as i should have been, because i operate on a seriously tight schedule. i'm sure that one way or another we will get this lined out. i really need to start learning to use git. thats the lesson i'm learning here and it's a hard one.

OK your blockrate and diff adjustment works fine. My concern is, if only a few people are able to run the client, coin distribution is a joke. IMO release a coin only when everything is set up and ready for people to use.

I just don't understand how you could fuck up the source (backups!) and then still release the coin instead of starting all over from mehcoin. Maybe should have held a bounty for a Windows client, we all know it's a pita to compile compared to Linux.

you'd be surprised. i'm not just copying and pasting shit, i pour over lines and attempt to understand what each piece of the puzzle is doing and what its responsible for.

in this particular instance, i wanted to to remove proof of stake reward system but maintain the checkpointing of blocks. i failed quite miserably in doing so and was to much of a n00b to put it back. atleast i'm trying to do something new FFS. everyone else(excluding real programmers like sunny king, mikhael, free trade etc.) is doing anything more than changing a few variables and calling it innovation. at any rate, i'm gonna fix this shit as i should. another valuable(but annoying) lesson learned. ever so humbly yours,

Well great then, scrypt-jane without PoS sounds good (not a big fan of PoS, the rich getting richer) and feel free to hack as many coins as you want, but make sure everything works for everyone when you release it. Do a beta test first and restart the blockchain for the release, the devtome guide covers this pretty well, that's also what Neocoin does now after a failed first launch.
But now the child has dropped into the well already.  :P

Reference to non-existing methods (Main.cpp, Line 4204):
Code:
	    //thanks adam m for this fix to override nBits.
        if (pblock->IsProofOfWork())
            pblock->vtx[0].vout[0].nValue = GetProofOfWorkReward(pindexPrev->nHeight+1, nFees, pindexPrev->GetBlockHash());

bitcon-qt.rc refers to non-existing resource novacoin.ico (Line 1)
Code:
IDI_ICON1 ICON DISCARDABLE "icons/novacoin.ico"

Etc etc. There's just no way you can compile anything from this source.

lol, those minor errors are uncompilable to you? you must be super l33t.

So after multiple attempts the provided source still doesn't compile. That's kind of ridiculous, but I guess it happens (even though I've never seen that here before).
But comments like yours, joking about someone not being able to compile your source and posting useful details about what's going wrong, are pathetic. Because it means you have released, again, source without trying to build it.

Are you sure you updated the source? The nChainStartTime is wrong and set to 1374863975 (MehCoin), it should be 1375158511.  ;)

GPU miners you better mine while you can!

nfactor just increased again to 7,  n increased to 128. you have less than a month of GPU mining left by my calculations.

now time to show off a little network stats :P

Getting about 1.4Mh/s on a 7970 running at a low 900Mhz.
Getting no coins after a few minutes of testing though.
Using:
ybcminer --scrypt --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2

"difficulty" : 1.04747063,
"networkhashps" : 70542565,
"Nfactor" : 6,
"N" : 128,
"powreward" : 1.00000000

EDIT, Just got 2 coins and a reject after 10 minutes on 3x7970.

Getting about 1.4Mh/s on a 7970 running at a low 900Mhz.
Memory how much Mhz?
My speed results is:
7950 ~3,5 Mh/s
7870 ~2.3 Mh/s
7850 ~1.61 Mh/s
6770 ~0.97 Mh/s

7970 must be 4Mh/s or more!
But this results with drivers 12.8, on 13.4 with card 7950 I have only 2 Mh/s
I'm not saying that the reason is in drivers 100%, but i think that is.

Title: Re: j-Coin information thread
Post by: 3dcgminer on August 08, 2013, 01:40:48 PM
Tried memory between 900-1450, no big difference.
Running driver 13.8 since it also is a gaming rig and 13.8 is the best for Crossfire games.

Are the benchmarks made with N=6 or earlier?
Hashrate halves at each N-change.

EDIT: Giving up on solo mining, after an hour I got 2 coins and 2 rejects, need a pool.

Yes,  :)
speed update:
7950 ~2 Mh/s
7870 ~1.43 Mh/s
7850 ~1.35 Mh/s
6770 ~0.66 Mh/s
