Etherdelta is running a token sale, will you buy it and do you think is worth it. Why don't they focus on security of the website first , People have complained after the website compromised of their stolen tokens and Ethers yet nothing is done, and here they are running a token sale.

they probabliy invest in security. heard about the token sale too but main thing seems they want raise money. not whats bnb for binance.

Never heard that EtherDelta is running a token sale, but I'm not buying it though. Main reason is that there are a lot of tokens already and it serves no purpose for me. So I don't know how much it will be worth. If they are trying to raise funds, does it mean that they are not profiting after all this years?

Maybe the reason for them offering tokens is to really raise some funds. I agree that they have to improved their security and their support because hackers are really targeting cryptos because of the huge amount that they can stole. However, I think they already did step up their security after what happens a few weeks ago.

I only yesterday found out they got hacked, sold, and running an ICO all in a weeks span. This would only happen in crypto such fast progression, I will look into it but I don't see why they are raising funds from the get go.

They didnt resolve thier issues with security yet. I don't think they scammers and they will not run with money of course but right now I don't see it as a good investment.

If they would have announced the crowdsale before the hack, I might have taken interest in it, however announcing it within weeks of their HACK is not really a good idea. Personally, I would prefer to stay away from an exchange running a crowdsale which recently got hacked. And I believe a lot many potential investors must be having a similar kind of mindset.

I noticed the crowdsale ennouncement in the Etherdelta website yesterday, it seems they are planning to earn more money by this project. However I am not really interested about buying this token actually, and I think they should concentrate more about the security issues in their exchanger.

Etherdelter is an open source token sale website that one sell his or her token i have sold several of my token on etherdelter without any issues of stolen token or what so ever.

No for sure but lots of people will invest in, because etherdelta is well known exchange and their team is just started an ico because of this popularity.

God no, whats wrong with this world. They gave nothing for your money, they even say it - "our tokens useless and the main reason why you buy it - to sale it back to us, somewhere"  ;D But people bring money while around so much good projects!

Because they are operating etherdelta without taking anything from the users. Remember etherdelta just a decentralized exchange which all of the transaction used the gas fees to pay the network.
i will pick up some coin and i hope there is utility usage for such token. Hopefully, etherdelta will develop such as future platform in the future. But if the token will be useless and then i will stay away,

Of course I would not invest a single penny in that exchange. In addition to the enormous difficulties involved in trying to trade with a minimum of technical tools, the administrators of that exchange have never been concerned with improving security, not even the design of the web. In fact, as soon as possible, I plan to remove the tokens I have there.

With the recent hiccups, i will not invest in the token sale. 

They need to give some value for their tokens first. Right now its completly trash without any need for me as investor and most people who buy only expect easy doubles/tripples of their investments. But check atleast roadmap (how long is it) if useless token means nothing for you.

Seems like a  cash-grab for them.

Buy it. Its always a good idea to buy a token from a well known exchange. It just can get more famous. So if you invest you will make money with it, because so many people are using etherdelta.

1. ed was hacked
2. ed was sold to new guys
3. ed makes an ico with a token without any benefits.

Seeing that the total supply of Etherdelta Token 750 million, I hesitate to buy!

Selling price is expensive! with a supply of 750 million is not sure it will make the Token become like OMG and VERI.

First thing they do is to make there security system more secured than before because so many users left going to other exchange and the more they cannot gain profit from there exchange.

This just seems like a poor cash grab attempt.

common guys i know you are charitable enough, its understandable they lost a lot of earnings since the eth traffic was congested by kitties and then the hacking me incident ;D ;D ;D maybe the ico is to compensate to your lost eth and tokens. lets support the ico since you earn alot by dumping there the shitcoins you grab for free.

Some people don't believe on it. for me i buy but i will know first about the project if that is worth it to hold. But there is one thing i notice. The hard cup was too high, i hope they will reach that.

I don't think its profitable to own those tokens they had because it happened that their site was been hacked, and yet there's no exact explanations why it happened. More of the trust has been lost for the site devs, and lots of traders has lost their ether funds while on goin hack was present those days of attack. However they might be liable and responsible for the refund of those token wasted, but still they have no proper announcements and now their advertising a token sale which I think unfair for those affected with the hacking attacks; possible reputations of etherdelta declined a lot.

I'm not going to buy their tokens. Because I think that the market is a lot more promising projects. And this way, I think just a collection of money from investors

Meh, with the recent hacks and everything I'm less likely to use their exchange anymore. I'm just glad I was using Metamask so I felt safer when the attack happened. Plus, what good is their token? Seems like cheap way to raise money for security upgrades, with no real investment for us, instead of just asking for donations. Heck, I might actually go give them some just because I want to help out a little bit, but it would have been nice for them to be honest.

Buy Etherdelta token is great chance to be rich. They already have live exchange with thousand users, million dollar in trading, hundred assets. I think they need sale token because they need update their system for faster system, more secure...

No, i haven't read the whitepaper thoroughly but from skimming through it, the purpose of the token is for buyback program which i don't need and i prefer to put my money somewhere else after the hack which happened last week, i always thought dex can't be hacked.

I use EtherDelta, but think that the better value is in 0x project.  It has several exchanges based on this tech, and as I understand it - they will create one large pool that can be drawn from by the relayers.  Ultimately, I think 0x has more potential and does the same thing.

i think alot of people will buy token from them and its likely the token sales will be successful because they have alot of people who trade using their platform but etherdelta need to face the security issue and deal with it. truely this is major challenge of any trading platform but they can improve on it and provide improve security in order to stop future occurence.

I don't trust it since the last phishing hack and won't touch ED now  with a barge pole. ED was apparently sold off and it could have been sold off to scammers, this is what I read somewhere and I changed all my wallets that were associated with ED and transferred all my tokens out. I won't be using it ever again I don't think, not unless I invest in hardware wallets like trezor and nano s.

may be they are running the token sale to improve the security of the exchange... plus it is never safe to keep your tokens or ethereum on the exchange.

seems to me all this time I still use trade site coinmarket because this site is more easily and understand to me if in token sales using etherdelta I am still less understand and most likely most of the sales tokens are still using manual with coinmarket because etherdelta still require improvements in security in the trade so that more people got interested with the etherdelta ...

Well, i might or might not. It really depends on the reason for the token sale. If it is for earning funds to make their security better, then that would be a worth it investment. But if it is for other reasons which are obviously poor efforts to fatten up their pockets, i dont think I'll be investing. Never heard ablut this though, im gonna check it out first. No. I will used their site for my own purposes as some of my tokens can only be traded on Etherdelta.

Even if it will become worth it in the future, I will not regret. I just minimized the risks.

What is the reason behind this ICO? First they were hacked and now they are doing ICO? Something is fishy here. I hope they will use that money to improve security.

Etherdelta's original CEO has left and sold the ownership with someone else. I do not trust the new management. Looks like Etherdelta is being ruled by sneaky people.

Recently Etherdelta's domain was hacked and lots of people who share their private keys with Etherdelta was hacked. Problem doesnt fix, after few days without explanation what happened to domain hacked. They launched their ICO.

Well,i will buy into their ICO,challenges will always come up but opportunities for investments in those challenges shouldn't be overlooked.Decentralized Exchanges are becoming the order of the day especially in the wake of possible centralized exchange regulations,so in the near future exchanges like etherdelta will be a very hotcake and so will their tokens.I'm sure they are working on the security breech and hopefully can prevent another one from happening

But this looks silly to see etherdelta try to run an ico, and the ridiculous thing about there is no utility usage for the token of etherdelta itself. It seems to be useless soon.

I really would not mind anyway even though I am just hearing this. They have been around for a while now and even though they have had some few issues, they have proven to be able to do better. It may not be worth starting a token sale since they have made enough over the years already, but if it gives a chance to at least be a part of a decentralized exchange and if having the token gives one a good chance to have some good profit in the long run, it should be a good one to invest in. Also, this may be a way to want to upgrade the platform to be better and give every investor a chance to be a part of it.

like my etherwallet no one can access their account without private key. etherdelta is a decentralized market exchange so no one can access the account without private key, even the owners couldnt. i will support etherdelta if still running properly. previous adverse events are a thing we do not want but losing money in it is due to our negligence that enter through phishing site. but if etherdelta itself is a phising site then we must be vigilant.

I've seen the announcement yesterday, maybe they are raising a fund for the development of EtherDelta. It might be a little risky to invest, but well i love challenge.

Etherdelta now has a lot of security issues. I won't be participating in their ICO, and I won't be trading on this exchange.

etherdelta is a good exchange site, it was hacked few weeks ago by changing to phising site, so many careless investors didn't realize that so they lost money, that is not etherdelta's fault, so when i heard ED open a crowsale i feel a little bit strange but ED is a great exchange that has many investors using it, so it is still worthy to invest in its crowsale, it may risky but worthy.

Etherdelta need to improve on it's security! Interestingly, etherdelta project was not as a result of ICO! They were able to pull off their decentralized exchange without raising any fund. i think they deserve some trust and I am going to buy etherdelta ICO!

Waste of money. You get nothing back, just have to hope that the price is raising, but there is no other use beside that. Etherdelta should have enough money for security without a tokensale, if they want to use the money for security reasons based on the hack some days before.

well, BNB coin gives fee discount and KuCoin shares give you the share of fees. etherdelta coins give you nothing and right after hackers attack crowdsale looks like a mockery.

This is exactly what I am thinking too. Not the best timing starting to sell token shortly after having been hacked - not really the best promotion tool.

And why would they think launching their own coin would help the current cause? It's stupid on their part to venture into their own token while risking the housing of most ERC20 coins while the site has been plagued with security issues and downtimes in the past.

For now, they should stick to pushing out updates to improve the site which is a budding exchange for ERC20 tokens rather than digging their own graves with something like this.

Not buy it, too early and not worth ( for now ). I believe Etherdelta only follow ICO's trend but for me Etherdelta is more good and fit as exchange only. Besides that, I see another exchange also running token sale but has bad result. If you decides to buy, you should wait until token sale finish and see what happen. Because at that moment we can see the real price and volume. So, be patience and calm down.

I want to know why etherdelta devlopers do a crowdsale...i feel not a ico but just an airdrop or hardfork for get some profits...ED not need a crowdsale

I will buy some quantity and wait to see how well it will be. I think they have done well with the security and check the speed that was used to mitigate the attack and quickly came back online.

Yes it's obvious if people will choose a market that is very consistent and clear and not like spirits, so now many markets that are working together to get the advantage, so we have to be smart to select a market

I already bought the tokens of another exchange KuCoin shares. It has already risen in price. And begins to bring small dividends. Why do I need the coins of Etherdelta exchange? I should not buy ed token, mainly based on the following considerations:
1., the hard cap is too high
 2. crowdsale price is several times that of the private sale
3. there will be quit several competing rivals this year.

Apparently, I saw in ED that there's a crowdsale and I didn't know they running it just until now that I read here. May I know what token they're selling? It's quite intriguing tho and maybe there's something behind it.

Really? So the new owner after buying the ED launched a token sale for the upgrade to ED 2.0? I think its not a brilliant move maybe they should wait some months to regain and bring back the ed to a good reputation after some hacks and then launch a token sale it will surely brings lots of investors.

I think they will encouraged more trader to there market it is good move to etherdelta to have some token sale features but the questions is the security of it.

Yes, i am interested to be a part of this token sale because it is a well established exchange for ERC20 tokens and it will give good profit in long run because exchanges get fee for every trade/transaction and there are no chances of losses ever.

I will not, why ed need so much money? it has earned so much trading fee, and ed is very hard to use especially for newcomers, and the security of users account cant be guaranteed.

Like everybody said, etherdelta need to improve their security first before doing token sale. Etherdelta is one of the target of haccker since there are a lot of token and etherium there. And also the website sometime very heavy to load.

The security of etherdelta is not resolve yet. Etherdelta has a more transaction fee so in my opinion i cant buy a token from etherdelta. I think i will buy token from them if it is more stable already.

Etherdelta running a token sale!! Where did you get that info? But if it is legit, then I guess it is a good idea to invest in it. Yes, Etherdelta was recently hacked but I guess no project is safe from hackers. There are vulnerabilities in every online platform and hackers take advantage of that only. But now I think Etherdelta must have fixed its issues and safer to use. And so a good investment if it starts a token sale.

It's legit, it's gonna run for only two weeks. The thing is I haven't read anything that says something about profit sharing from fees, something that could've made the tokens so valuable.

Yes, and that calls for questioning though. They have made so much over the years and there is no doubt about that.
They already have a platform running and I do not see how they would not have just simply make the platform better with the amount they have raised even if that is the main reason for the crowd sale or if they just want to give people the chance to be part of the Etherdelta project.

Etherdelta cant give back what is already stolen,yes they need to improve their security a hacked DNS server is ridiculous but it already happened so lets be vigillant to our transactions to prevent losses.

I think this token sale is for the security of the exchange and always remember, NEVER keep your coins or tokens on exchange. Exchanges could be compromise and it's really not safe to keep cryptos at exchanges.

Well, they'll use money as follows: System Development & Operation - 35%, Marketing & Promotion - 50%, Emergency Fund - 15%. Don't forget 10% of tokens team reserved for a year and we get the picture which is unfortunately very far from "token sale is for the security".

If they could run a decentralized trading platform even though it got hacked, i think they deserve even a little appreciation. We all know that trading platform is not designed to store our tokens, right?

Regarding the legitimacy of the token sale of etherdelta,  well its true and you can see their promotions on their website. If that mindset of being unsafe from hackers, well maybe thats too much a negative perceptions about it and I think their new project will help etherdelta website improve their current system to be much more secured from hacking attacks.

why is everyone so cautious about etherdelta ico? etherdelta is important for cryptocurrency world. it is the place where we can trade our small capped altcoins, bounty tokens and etc. I like its concept important private key and directly controlling the ethereum wallet.
I know it is sold recently, maybe new guys want to improve the site by this ico. I am going to research more and decide

I do not understand why they sell the cards to raise funds, they have had security problems and it takes a long time to fix them (1-2 days). And what are the tokens that can help a user in the trading platform? Are they prepared to vote? or other purposes. Can anybody help me with this?

Etherdelta is good example of self funded project that was successful and functional. I think if the rest of those guys looking for funding could proof themselves first by developing something that investor can believe in before they started hunting for money, the cryptospace and cryptocurrency and blockchain will be better for

I think they should focus on improving the UI for EtherDelta first before launching the ICO.

Probably the token sale was meant to develop the platform the more so as to get the best experience for those who may want to be trading on the platform.

The security is necessary and we all know that security is lapsing, but I would not mind having their token anyway as that seems to give me a stake on the project which I am sure a lot of people would not mind anyway. There is already a product and it has been able to gain good ground, so I would not mind investing at all.

There is a news before that etherdelta has been hacked and i was very sad that it happens because most of the ico's are releasing their tokens on etheredelta if the value is on ethereum. Hopefully my tokens are safe and it was still at the same amount.

Etherdelta is now messing up things, having announced that in future new coins which want to be listed have first to buy a consistent amount of their tokens. It could mean RIP for Etherdelta IMHO.

I am not much into ICO's, so basically - no. But otherwise, while Etherdelta token is interesting (I think it will grow), we could consider this token to be kind of like having a shares in the company and since Etherdelta could grow - it is really useful albeit unsecure, non user-friendly and very slow.....

But I don't know, they would have to show to me, the potential investor, that they are planning to make some progress on solving the problems they have, and not just by using words.

yes, it's the worst change they could make in my opinion too. the best thing about etherdelta was listing of every useless token. it was crypto flea market with lot of issues but with own charm.

Yeah Ill buy it,  etherdelta has lots of traders so their coin might be good.  Even with their problem,  I dont think they are not working hard to solve it espcially when they are also havong their own token. 

I often trade on this exchange. I like the fact that it is decentralized. And even despite the fact that the stock exchange recently had problems, now it works. But I do not know who buys most of the garbage coins there)

I was very cautious now against the ED, after the hacker incident yesterday, and my friend became a victim of hackers in the ED so that the Token in MEW became lost :(

It's good for invest if they have token sale and actually even their site is not mobile friendly still most of every users here use the site because it's trusted,i think more good to do now is develop their site and answer all the question like about the token that gone and why their site is so slow when you do transaction their and it's kind of nervous.

No, it's because what they are going to do is different to what binance kucoin or coss coin are doing, giving the user rewards for using the platform like discount when using their token or profit sharing from the trading fee generated from the exchange. Etherdelta token has no benefit for the platform from what I've read and they only useful for buyback program so I will pass on this one.

Yes, you have some point here and that is also my concern about the etherdelta trading site. My ether wallet account was hacked on that site before because they don't have any security or any confirmation on email when one user importing their account. There are many users complaining regarding the stolen tokens. It is good to ensure everyone account from this site.

Ether Delta have to improve their security to avoid hackers and for the safety of investor's token. There are some people wants to stole tokens. I will only buy the sale token in Ether Delta if I assured that it is already safe.

At least they have done well to have been able to put up a decentralized platform over the years and have been able to prove themselves to have the ability to deliver if they have the funds to do so and also get better by enhancing the platform. It is a good way to really raise money and I do not see anything bad in that. I think there is nothing wrong in buying etherdelta tokens. I also think that it is true that some of it may be stolen, still there is no guarantee that all of it are stolen. Besides, we are not involve in the act of stealing and if we wish to purchase something from a website that sells that it is not illegal at all.

I am a regular trader at Etherdelta and the only reason I go there is that the new coins will be listed first there and nothing else. Their UI as well as service is too low to handle and I personally would not go for the token sale.

I always liked ED for bargain shopping. The hack of their DNS server finally triggered for me to use the nano ledger. The cap is too high after recent events and with upcoming competition. Cobinhood will start listing tokens in a couple of days and one of their declared targets is to list all ERC 20 sooner or later. Looking at exchanges I feel this is a better option. Also there is coinmetro coming up soon and their whitepaper really makes a good read. So I do not feel like investing in ED right now.

I can say NO. Etherdelta is too risky. They lack of communication. although they have a good product, I will never buy it. I joined their telegram group for several days. Just want to make sure, what they offer. But unfortunately, all member of that group only complaining about their (Etherdelta) site.

Im definitely not buying in the tokensale of Etherdelta. I dont see the point in conducting a tokensale right after their exchange got hacked. This shattered my trust in the website and I switched my trading back to centralized exchanges for the time being. This is something which surprised me most. ICO immediately after hack(which happened after they've changed ceo) and it looks like not many are interested in ED ICO. Only 6% raised and 2 days until ICO ends. Not to mention that it is very difficult for me to trust etherdelta with my money after all this. I'll skip.

If they would have announced the crowdsale before the hack, I might have taken interest in it, however announcing it within weeks of their HACK is not really a good idea. Personally, I would prefer to stay away from an exchange running a crowdsale which recently got hacked. And I believe a lot many potential investors must be having a similar kind of mindset.

I don't think that EtherDelta will have success with their tokens. Read thier new terms for listing new tokens and you'll understand that most of good projects will choose to pay another exchange. And all other small coins won't have enough money to be listed. ED team doesn't want to improve the exchange they just wan't to earn more money. So if you want to invest your money in a trading platform - BNB and KCS are the best for the moment.

Should the hacker problem now facing Etherdelta should be a homework to be accomplished by the team from the Etherdelta site, because I think it is very harmful to the users of the Etherdelta site because of course they will lose the tokens they have. So for the moment I think I'm not too interested in what Etherdelta is doing selling tokens because for now I do not want to be too brave to take the risk I would face if after I bought the token but in the end it would be hacked. I hope you're able to get your funds back. Took me a couple of hours yesterday, with lots of weird routing via the smart contract, but I was eventually able to get my ETH back into MEW. When you try to move funds from wallet to delta, or export, look at the account# or tx# on Etherscan. Their interface is seriously broken/slow, and often looks like nothings happening. Give it ten mins and check ES, you will probably find that it is actually doing something, even if their interface says otherwise.

I like to buy exchange coins but I would thoroughly need to do my due diligence on it first before I make any informed decision on whether to go and buy up some ED tokens. I do like exchange coins and only use ED when I need to use it but otherwise I am not so sure right now. I might have invested if they keep the price mapped to USD and not to Ether. Ether has done well in the recent times and it doesnt look good to buy 850 ED coins at 0.1 Ether (145 USD) which comes around 17 Cents. I might have invested if they kept it below 10 cents as the news of security issues really made me feel uninterested in them. Etherdelta does not have the best image in the cryptoworld. There are much more better exchanges, but otherwise etherdelta is a often used exchanges who is anonymous. So the etherdelta is not that bad. And when you see all the oter Tokens fromexchanges, its maybe not a bad idea to invest in some and hold them for a while.

I don't think most people do appreaciate what ED has done to the space, it is the first decentralised exchange with huge trading volume and make listing on exchange as easy as ABC but people have abuse this maybe wwhen they start paying through their noise like Binance and Bittrex they will know what they are missing

The "whitepaper" (I use that term loosely, as it was hastily put together and nonsensical), talked about paying fees with EDT and being able to use it for future ICOs launched on the EtherDelta platform. Additionally said they were going to force future coins to hold a certain amount of EDT before they could be listed for trade on ED.

True and I hope they will also improve their website since it tends to load slower compared to other exchange platforms out there. Before going to ICO, they had to solve the problems of their exchange. After a recent break-in, they are getting less and less supporters. People have stopped trusting the exchange and it seems that this is not a very good time for them. I certainly will not buy their counter, this not a very good investment, a big risk.
