Title: CoinPayments.net - Unbiased Unified Money Solution - Multi Payment Procesing
Post by: pr0d1gy on August 17, 2013, 04:04:03 AM

What is it?
We provide an easy to integrate checkout system for multiple cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Litecoin with low fees. There are APIs designed to be simple and provides a polled interface or Instant Payment Notification (IPN). If you have ever programmed for PayPal(tm)'s IPN system it is just as simple.

How does it work?

  • Via a button or link on your site your customers are directed to our checkout page.
  • We give your buyer a unique address to send their coins to.
  • Once the coins have been received by us and confirmed (number of confirmations depends on the coin), we send them to your address (your wallet or an exchange) minus our fee and the transaction fee for that coin.
  • Your server will be notified via IPN or polling through each stage of this process. You decide whether to process their order until the coins are confirmed on our end or wait until they are in your wallet.
  • We provide all the tools you need to make integration as painless as possible.

Features:
Multi Coin Block Explorer & Faucet
Email Confirmations For Transfers & Withdraws
Store Incoming Coins On Your Account
Withdraw & Transfer Coins To Other Users
Accept Multiple Crypto Popular Currencies
Address Book
Merchant/Store Ratings with Feedback
One time payment request/invoice generator
2 Factor Authentication Login

This idea sounds useful for people with altcoins. Are there any sites using the beta right now?

Yes, there are but some are beta testing their stores with our services, So I can't post the beta stores, yet. Hoping they post it here first. ;)
I will make a list and post in a bit. Will eventually have it store directory on the site.  Also have a few coin devs with us, hoping they speak up. soon too.  ;D

I'm using it on a few different sites. This service is great.

www.DailyBit.net
www.LitecoinToGox.com
www.Playstation4Raffle.com

I'm only using the checkout button, I have a few more sites I want to put up that I need to set up a shopping cart for and this should work great for them too.  ;D

We have just added CGB (CryptogenicBullion) & BQC (BBQ Coin)

Since this is still beta, please let us know if everything looks good, and works good.

We will continue to try to support more coins, when there is a demand for them.

I'm concerned about some of the coins. Seems you have a lot of new coins supported along with some bigger players. Wouldn't the less popular or controversial coins upset the overall ecosystem of your service?

Starcoin: Just launched, future uncertain.
IFC: Price fluctuates way to much
ORB: Considered by many to be a scam coin with a huge premine.

That's just to name a few. Also, why not include DGC above many of those other coins? Is this more of a rights/partnership thing, or are you trying to put out the best service?

Edit: I really like this idea overall, I hope my post didn't come off too negative. Best of luck to you.

Well we don't control the market, just help direct funds form person to person. We just want to cater to the crypto community. You don't have to accept every coin, you can just use the ones you want to support. Thanks for looking out though, if we do tend to get more negative comments about certain coins, we can investigate a little bit more and maybe suspend/remove the coin due to popular demand.

I'm charged $5 just for the card, not including what I load on it, this should give you an idea of why it is what it is for a $10 card vs a $60 card. lol
If you go on Bitmit the prepaid visa cards are quite a bit more ($80 for a $60 card) I would love to sell the cards cheaper but I have to make a profit to make the whole thing work.  ;)

Update: We have added our last coin (for now), DVC (Devcoin).

Why DVC?
Well it was one of the coins mentioned in our private beta, and now in public, we just never really got back to it.

The LAST coin?
No, hopefully not, but as of right now this is still a working public beta, we haven't anticipated adding in that many coins so far. (well till now.)

Why the last coin? Well we've been receiving a lot of messages in our inbox's and the demands are definitely out there, we just don't have enough resources to be supported by us, yet. We initially started with about 5 or so main coins, and then started our private beta, we added the coins we already have due to good support from the developers, and its supporters during the beta (thanks for all that support). Now that we are more public and getting more use, we will have to start seeing more transactions being used via CoinPayments to help pay for server upgrades and start supporting more coins. The server we initially got for the service is close to reaching its resource limit. We apologize for any inconveniences for everyone that is supporting us currently, and anyone that has future plans of using our service. We are still accepting new users and stores, as well as continued support for any of our features. We are always open to ideas from the community to achieve a better CoinPayments for everyone.

In due time, we just didn't want to get ahead of ourselves. We still plan to add more coins, but as of now we need to start seeing the service being used and accepted more vs than expanding a working beta. Next time we add a coin we may put up a poll or some kind of voting to get more of a majority vote.

It has been requested before, and it is on the future-add list, but as of current we need to see more use of the current system before we can add more coins. The server has almost reached max resources, so we don't want to compromise the service for more coins, yet.

Thanks.

The new buttons look awesome on iGotSpots.com/other (http://iGotSpots.com/other)

Now you just need to add Spots and Copper Bars

Seems to be working well, except I would prefer getting an email after the payment is cleared rather than when someone fills out the form, but I am a fan

We have been getting lots of requests to add more coins, and we don't want you to feel like we are ignoring you. We are listening, but we are still in early development of this system, and for us to expand to more coins, we will need the system to get higher volume of use so we can test its current coin capabilities for the sake of future upgrades to multiple coins. Our biggest concerns are your privacy, and the safety of your coin transactions. We are still very open to new ideas and suggestions. As well as the suggestion of coins to be supported, although right now, they will only be added to a list. Speaking of that list, below will be the updated list of the coins we are already in consideration to add once we feel we can start moving the system out of beta stages. Thank you for understanding, and supporting Coin Payments.

Spots - SPT
Quark - QRK
Copper Bars - CPR
Luckycoin - LKY
Fastcoin - FST
DigitalCoin - DGC
Yacoin - YAC

Thank you for your work!  Will you please add YaCoin? I know there are a couple people wanting to use it for payment.

I wouldn't mind to be able to spend my YAC on useful things. QRK too. ;D

Thank you for your interest in CoinPayments, but we are not adding any new coins. (For Now)

pr0d1gy - btw love your nick  8)

Ok quick suggestion, not sure if it is possible or logistics behind it, but it would be sweet.

Option to auto convert (with an exchange fee of course) alt coins in to BTC or USD until cashing out.
This way you can choose to be protected from market volatility as a vendor.

I know Mtgox, Bitinstant and Bitpay offer instant USD conversion. This will defiantly be beneficial and I for one would be more willing to take payments in crap coins :P

Cheers

Post by: pr0d1gy on September 02, 2013, 04:47:14 AM
The auto conversion from ALT coin to BTC would be a mid to long term goal, that's something we would like to do as well, but until then Cryptsy has introduced a auto-sell feature that works really well. If you set your payout addresses to your Cryptsy deposit addresses it will automatically exchange them to BTC or LTC depending on the coin.

But as far as a USD market, we aren't too big on that, yet. Thinking of the entire process of Crypto -> Fiat feels like working backwards. Plus its way too early to for that...

And thanks for the nick. Inspiration has always been the band. lol

Well after a fun filled few days of voting.  ;D

We announce the update. We now are supporting 21 coins for merchants to use with their stores and businesses.

BTC, LTC, DVC, CGB, BQC, FTC, IFC, KGC, NMC, NVC, ORB, RED, STR, TRC, XPM, PPC, CAP, YAC, DGC, GLD, WDC.

They will be available to use as they complete syncing. How can you tell if they are synced?
Just go to our site and click "Supported Coins" if your lazy then its here: https://www.coinpayments.net/index.php?cmd=supported_coins

If you need any help setting up your store with Coin Payments, feel free to contact us via this thread, PM, or website's contact page.
Also if you think you have an idea or suggestion to help, we are welcome to it as well...

(Note, STR coin is still suspended till its fixed: info (https://twitter.com/cryptsy/statuses/373137871508500480))

:(

Maybe you should have paid people to vote for spots... lol. Just kidding...

In due time, we will eventually add Spots, and other coins. We have upgraded our servers, so if the demand for a certain coin in the community rises past expectations we can accommodate. Yet again, we don't want this to become a competition of what coins we use and which we don't. Eventually we hope to accept every possible coin once we are fully able to launch out of BTCETA

Update: Image Generator

We have added a new Coin Acceptance image generator. You can display which coins you accept. As a general rule, we want to encourage supporting every coin to expand your sales. But we have gotten multiple requests for a universal image, to display for each accepted coin; and here is our solution. Simply "Check" the coins you use, and make an image!

https://i.imgur.com/jCpbkoz.png

Note, this is still in BTCETA, so we will be changing the images, to help suite the needs of each store.

Why do you want to vote?
In a money buisiness value and volume counts.
If your server could only manage 21 Coins at the same time, i would suggest it is better
to support the 21 Coins listed by daily volume (maybe also AVG of 7 days)

http://coinmarketcap.com/

that would be better for your buisnness than a vote which possibly biased.

greetings

Its not the market value of a coin, its buying power. The coin could be capped at 1000000000000000000 but if no one uses it to buy anything, this does not help the system. This is still a big beta, and we need to mind the resources.

Fastcoin is on the list to be added. Will be added in due time...

Rates go by market average updated once per hour. Payouts are depending on what the buyer pays with, and what you accept. We do no conversion.

What about these buttons? Those buttons available on the website are ok but I wanted something nicer and small.

I'm seeing in the source code that whoever run this forum somehow disable image animating and give reason "FORUM: disabled on this page for security".

If you go directly to the image host url, they do animate.

CoinPayments has been working hard on a new and improved version. It is now live for you to see and use.

https://i.imgur.com/CYuG2SW.png  -=>   https://i.imgur.com/TY2CCaW.png

First thing you will notice is the layout. We have gotten a bit of bad PR due to the design of the site, but looks were never our priority. With the help of members from the community, we got new buttons, images, tutorials, layout ideas, etc...

So a big thank you for everyone who has supported us. Along with the layout change, we have changed and improved the store directory's look and feel. Another new feature to the store directory is the addition of store banners. Stores can submit images to add to their store posting, we will be rolling out updates for it in time.

For registered users there is now an option to store your incoming coins, so you don't have to fill out all the payment addresses. While your coins are in our system, you can transfer them to other users, as well as withdraw. As added security and familiar crypto feel, withdraws and transfer require email confirmations. We've added some new shopping cart buttons, so you can easily create a store on your website, and with PayPal Passthru, you don't have to have 2 sets of buttons to accept crypto or fiat. Also we now have new APIs and more Fiat currency codes supported, and we can add more on request.

You forgot that all the other coins had paid votings as well. As soon as their bribes started they rocketed up above 50 votes very quickly. Before they had less then 10/20 flat.
Gamecoin GME had decided not to participate in this because it wouldn't be appropriate. Only short before the end it was added to a large list of minor tasks but there was no focussed promoting or paying for votes meaning very little effect on the result.

I think the bitcoin conversation rate now favors the merchants by 3%. I'm unsure about dropping the USD prices or not.
Is that because of recent Gox failure? Maybe you should consider de-listing Gox for a better calculation.

CoinPayments is shutting down per 31 March 2014.

Are there any alternative payment processors accepting multiple cryptocurrencies? :(

---

CoinPayments Shutdown
It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the closure of CoinPayments.net. FinCEN has ruled that Bitcoin is in their purview which would make us a money transmitter. We simply do not have the resources to register with FinCEN and most of the 50 states as a MSB and comply with all of the AML/KYC laws (and no realistic way to raise the funds to do so.)

The shutdown will happen in 3 stages:
We will stop accepting new user registrations effective immediately.
We will stop processing new transactions at 11:59:59 PM EST on March 24, 2014 (transactions already in progress at that time will be completed).
The website will otherwise remain operational until 11:59:59 PM EST on March 31st, 2014 when it will be shut down.
Any refunds due must be requested by the end of March 31st, 2014 and any funds held in your account withdrawn. Keeping the website open for a week from the last new transaction should give everyone ample time to wrap up their affairs in the site.

We extend our sincerest apologies to all of our merchants and customers who have relied on CoinPayments for over 7 months,
MrData & pr0d1gy

There is nothing even close to the scale of CoinPayments in terms of currencies supported, no.

There are a few that accept both Bitcoin and Litecoin such as https://www.btcmerch.com/ and https://www.gocoin.com/
Paysha at http://paysha.com/ is going to accept 4+ coins once they launch.

Note: We have not used any of these processors and cannot vouch for their reliability or legality.

O man, this is bad news. CoinPayments was great for Opencart, easy to use and install.

Why are you guys closing? It wasn't really clear what you meant, I thought they allowed investors etc. to continue dealing in bitcoins?

It's because we accept money from buyer X and send it to seller Y, that makes us a money transmitter (even though we don't touch fiat).

And there is no way to stay open?
There are a lot of other smaller coin processors. You were like, very reliable, great offer, easy to use, everything well integrated. It would be a shame if all of that is gone, especially now that cryptocurrencies are gaining popularity. You could become one of the biggest payment processors in the future..

Not that I can see, anyone based in the U.S. and very shortly other major countries as they regulate crypto will not be able to legally run a processor without having substantial cash backing already and registering with and following all of their AML/KYC laws. If we'd started a year or two earlier we would probably be in a position to make that happen but we were too late for the game.

CoinPayments isn't mining or investing coins, we accept coins from party X and send them to party Y. Those smaller unregistered processors will have to get licensed or shut down eventually (if they are based in the USA or other countries that decide to regulate in the same way).

Have you obtained legal counsel advising you that?  There is an exception to MT definition at federal level and that is for a payment processor.  As an example credit card processors and BitPay are NOT money transmitters.

Quote
(5) Money transmitter—(i) In general. (A) A person that provides money transmission services. The term “money transmission services” means the acceptance of currency, funds, or other value that substitutes for currency from one person and the transmission of currency, funds, or other value that substitutes for currency to another location or person by any means. “Any means” includes, but is not limited to, through a financial agency or institution; a Federal Reserve Bank or other facility of one or more Federal Reserve Banks, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, or both; an electronic funds transfer network; or an informal value transfer system; or

(B) Any other person engaged in the transfer of funds.

(ii) Facts and circumstances; Limitations. Whether a person is a money transmitter as described in this section is a matter of facts and circumstances. The term “money transmitter” shall not include a person that only:

(A) Provides the delivery, communication, or network access services used by a money transmitter to support money transmission services;

(B) Acts as a payment processor to facilitate the purchase of, or payment of a bill for, a good or service through a clearance and settlement system by agreement with the creditor or seller;

(C) Operates a clearance and settlement system or otherwise acts as an intermediary solely between BSA regulated institutions. This includes but is not limited to the Fedwire system, electronic funds transfer networks, certain registered clearing agencies regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), and derivatives clearing organizations, or other clearinghouse arrangements established by a financial agency or institution;

(D) Physically transports currency, other monetary instruments, other commercial paper, or other value that substitutes for currency as a person primarily engaged in such business, such as an armored car, from one person to the same person at another location or to an account belonging to the same person at a financial institution, provided that the person engaged in physical transportation has no more than a custodial interest in the currency, other monetary instruments, other commercial paper, or other value at any point during the transportation;

(E) Provides prepaid access; or

(F) Accepts and transmits funds only integral to the sale of goods or the provision of services, other than money transmission services, by the person who is accepting and transmitting the funds.

Very disappointed by this, I was going to contact you soon regarding my coin project.

Fincen only cares about the paypal and fiat options.. so why not remove those
options and just work with crypto? If your concerned about regulation whats the difference between you and say an escrow service or sending coins to another person for example? That means any transaction is illegal?

Maybe this opens up a market fora new service
to take coinpayments place?

what if its not for profit of an business or person but a coin? With Devcoin im planning on implementing a business which is paid via devcoin shares accepts coins proivides products but gives all profit back to devcoin to bolster prices.. could this be an acception? Maybe transform coinpayments to conform to sonething like this?

Would you be willing to share some numbers about different coins used for product purchases from last half year or so?

Thanks for concidderation.

Thanks for all the hard work , and if somehow the project would continue, I'm currently unemployed and available for hire ;)

I can certianly pitch it to the devcoin guys and you would get paid to work for it in shares.. What is your expertise?

It would have to be open source for devcoin to own it.. all projects are open to public...

Is CoinPayments going away or not?

I remind you that you can advertise your service for free on the freicoin foundation's merchant list:

https://foundation.freicoin.org/#/trade

Please, register your service there. Some people ask for payment processors and it would be nice if they could directly find you there instead.

Same thing with YACoin. I received an email with the same explanation. Thank you for the response.

I have a concern though. Considering votes can be bought, it seems a little unfair to accept a coin now with the possibility of removal if it doesn't meet some quota of transactions? When YAC was accepted, I'm pretty sure there wasn't a gift card service like there is now. I looked for things to buy, but I didn't find anything appealing.

I guess it is a chicken or an egg question--the merchants vs the coins... which I think would be more understandable if it didn't take BTC to get votes. I mean I believe you that 0 transactions were made with YAC. Is there a real cost to having a coin on there? What if it had only a couple transactions in a few month time frame? These would be good questions to know for the future at the very least I think.

YACoin is definitely alive. It has a working block explorer, website, up-to-date on every fundamental feature. It needs work in the enthusiasm department, which I'm optimistic about. Each NFactor change is like a new release of a coin. But it wouldn't hurt to have a payment system like coinpayments.

Any thoughts or clarification would be appreciated. I'm very thankful for coinpayments regardless. Cryptocoins are just speculative commodities without payment systems!

Both coins were from before the donation votes, but they were online for many months before they were deactivated (ORB was actually one of our earliest listed coins.) Coins with even 2 or 3 transactions we still have active so they have a chance to grow. Each coin will get at least a few months before getting deactivated.

Each coin does have a cost in terms of CPU and RAM usage mainly; the coins are actually still there just not running since disk space is cheap. If a store owner wants to accept one of the deactivated coins and has a realistic chance of getting transactions we can turn it back on with a flick of a switch.

We try to give coins a very generous time to get some transactions, OBS and YAC were added long before any of our recent votes. Our removal of a coin does not mean we like or dislike the coin. If it can't pull some of its weight, we try to give new coins a trial run at it. Also we do not collect proceeds or fees on the votes, they all go to BitGive Water Fund.

The coin got PoW mining stuck in January, lost its founder in early March, was nearly abandoned and attacked recently. Now, it has just started to become popular again. Come on, Red Mist paid you to get listed at CoinPayments as he paid everyone to get things done. Give ORB a second chance.

Don't misconstrue my point of view... at this point, I personally don't have an issue with using btc for votes, whether it goes to a charity or not. Like you said, YAC was voted on without BTC, so I feel can't really complain. But I would complain if it was voted on with BTC, and you decided to take it down without being transparent on the requirements to leave it up. I know YAC was an extreme case of 0 transactions, but it would be good to know in the future. I hope that makes sense.

On a side note, I think gift cards for crypto is awesome. Is there a chance CoinPayments could be used on gyft.com or egifter.com?

Thanks for all that you do.

ORB was one of 14 coins you selected for the public beta before any public votes started. I admit Red Mist has failed to deliver what he has promised, but the community is still there helping to make something good. Give it a couple more months and remove if it doesn't work out.

On new coins, we will give them at least 2 months. If they get even 1 or 2 transactions in that time we'll keep them on longer; we just want to use our resources to support coins that are being used and hopefully becoming even more popular.

Yeah, that's right, we still didn't receive any payment for it though.

As far as egifter. never knew they accepted btc. Maybe if enough people ask for us, who knows.

Its usually because one of the sides dont want alts. Bitpay probably only wants to deal in btc so egift doesnt want to hold the bag alone. Similar to my auction site I have seperate bid packages for only btc auctions becausethe vendors to those items being auctioned off will only take btc. I accept ltc too because it had a big orderbook but until the alts have sustainable depth no business will risk even more volaility already inherent with dealing in btc

For othe auctions i accept dvc which had low book depth but these are funded via devcoin monthly so there is no volatility issue here.

Randomly looked at egifter today, they actually accept LTC and DOGE

We never got paid to list ORB. We use public votes, not bribes.

ORB was one of 14 coins you selected for the public beta before any public votes started. I admit Red Mist has failed to deliver what he has promised, but the community is still there helping to make something good. Give it a couple more months and remove if it doesn't work out.

I'll provide a 5% discount for payment in ORB at Amazonia Imports http://btcpipeshop.com/ for the next month if that helps. The discount is configured within coinpayments 'coin acceptance settings' so the price you see is the discounted price.

You need to use a 'store' package that has a backend allowing you to enter inventory. Coinpayments has several modules at https://www.coinpayments.net/merchant-tools-plugins that you insert into the web store solution of your choice to enable a smooth check out. They also have currency modules that you can plug into some of these store packages to display prices in crypto too.

I'm using Open Cart and there was a module (from Open Cart) that grayed out 'out of stock' items so they couldn't be purchased, and I now have a drop down menu to display prices in the crypto of your choice.

I can add a 'max_quantity' field to the button, but you would have keep up with your inventory and set the value yourself (ie. we wouldn't be automatically subtracting the 'max_quantity' automatically on our end.)

Yea something simple like that would be great. But about the last part so If I inputed a max of 10 available, and I get 10 invoices generated for that item the code wouldn't prevent any more orders?

Right, we wouldn't actually keep up with your inventory; you would still have to do that on your end. (ie. store the quantity in your database and have your IPN handler lower lower the number of items in stock.)

The code is active now and would look like this in your buttons:
Code:
<input type="hidden" name="max_quantity" value="999">

I am using coinpayments for my site devcoinauctions.com.. If I choose to add a paypal button for checkout and it directs the user to the coinpayments paypal payment option will it call the same IPN handler with the same data format including custom data fields? In other words do you interpret the paypal IPN and hand it back to the user (me) the same way as the coin payments are done? That way I dont have to have a seperate IPN for handling paypal transactions.

Yes, with PayPal Passthru you will receive IPNs in the same format as with cryptocurrency transactions so you only need the 1 IPN handler.

We are pleased to announce the transfer and sale of CoinPayments has now been
completed smoothly, without issues or any service interruptions to our

dramatically reducing the required amount of confirmations for all coins

Well, CoinPayments, is just a payment gateway. It does not sell anything directly... You would have to contact the merchant that you purchased your item(s) from.

Well if they have a low score, and a lot of complaints, they would surely loose the ability to use CoinPayments on their website. Not all scam can be prevented, but most of the active merchants tent to be genuine and honest from what I see. Contact the merchant, and give them a few days. Might not be open on weekends or some strange hours. Before you go giving anyone bad feedback, make sure you speak to the merchant. Its like eBay, bad record will follow you, and people will avoid purchasing from that seller. Till otherwise... Its all legit.

Maybe, if a merchant offers it, why not. CoinPayments is just a gateway. All depends on merchant. There are prepaid debit cards available in some stores, along with other gift cards.

There are at least 3 ways to get to your seller's feedback:
1. When you check out you can click the seller's feedback % at the top of the page to view the feedback people have left about them.
2. If you were logged in when you sent the payment you can view the payment in your account and there will be a link to the seller's feedback.
3. If you go the payment status URL you got in the 1st payment confirmation email there is a link on that page too.

my point exactly... feedback is for a buyer to read before they make a purchase... if u send the payment and then see that the feedback is terrible what good does it do then...so how can i see feed back to base a decision on it.... what is feedback for if after you get ripped off you leave negative feedback so somebody else can read it after they get ripped off, so they can leave negative feedback so somebody else can read it after they get ripped off, so they can leave negative feedback so somebody else can read it after they get ripped off, so they can ..............

Its almost like eBay, they don't sell anything directly, its all merchants using the payment gateway. You are responsible to look into the merchant for ratings and website, bitcointalk thread, etc, before you decide to throw any money at them, then go through other processes of trying to get a refund or immediate help on a weekend... If it looks like a scam, it could be. I can't help you since I'm no longer part of CoinPayments. Just trying to help you with info I can supply, everything else is on you. Be safe.

At this moment store directory is not checked automatically. Some stores close down with out letting us know and as a result the link leads nowhere. Keep in mind that not all stores even have sales... This has very little to do with us and everything to do with how they run their business and product they chose to sell, timing, marketing etc.

We are currently updating website format and having a store directory where users can report broken/dead links is going to be one of the changes.

Yea, getting people to leave feed back is hard, seems like only return customers seem to leave feedback. Merchants need to also remind their shoppers to rate too. Could even reward with a discount coupon or some other thing till it catches on. Ive always left feedback, don't know why people don't.

I saw your new logo on your Facebook page. Looks nice, hope you improve some services a little bit more.

We are currently working on new site look and expecting to have it online in a few weeks.

Updating "coinpayments accepted" Images.

Implemented support ticket system.

Currently working on a way to implement USD/CAD/EUR payout methods for our customers, no exact date in mind as this will require some careful planning. However; it is on a very high priority list.

Store directory is very important aspect of our vision for the company and we will be constantly thinking of ways to improve it.

Affiliate system is now setup on manual bases, so anyone who wants to refer business our way will collect 20% of 0.5% fee we collect for our service, forever.
We are currently working on making it automated, but updating the site is of higher priority at this very moment.

Keep in mind that all changes require some time to implement. Finding all the right people is always somewhat of a challenge and took us a month longer then we anticipated, but we are extremely happy with our newly formed core team.

Thank you all for using our service :)

Top 3 coins will be added.

Since the addition of the coin, way back months ago, it has received 0 transactions... Along with a few other coins that have been inactive for some time now. Nobody is using it to buy anything.

Too bad Freicoin was disabled even before announcing the service in freicoin's trade directory: http://foundation.freicoin.org/#/trade
I should have bought one of those survivalist products when I had the chance, if I had known nobody used the service with FRC...
If you ever enable it again, I'll make sure it doesn't get 0 transactions again.

EDIT: also there wasn't conversion to EUR back them so I wasn't able to convince any local merchants. I think it would be much easier now.

Hey Alex,

This is a feature request that may be useful for other vendors so I'll write it up here and ask you:

Is there a way to have paypal enabled on the account but to disable it for a button checkout? I would like for the user to be able to use paypal for one checkout but force them to use coins to pay for others... because I am transfering coins using the second option to a user coin address, while the first option is payment directly to me for services.

A field like allow_currencies which already exists can simply have USD(or FIAT) by default but if you override it and say set it to BTC it will only allow BTC payments. That or maybe an enable_paypal option which defaults to true and user can override it to false if they wish. I need to be able to disable paypal without disabling paypal integration from my coinpayments account settings.

Thanks,
jag

There was a technical glitch with one of the exchange rates which made our system lock up for a few hours. All has now been restored and we now eliminated the issue, which caused the lock up. Rewrote the script to ignore such events in the future and notify us instead of desisting coins.

lol, currently there's nothing else like this service, others offer maybe a hand full of coins or just BTC/LTC/DOGE. Bar none, best massively multi crypto payment processing site. Easy to use, secure, as well as a giant growing list of merchants with ratings and such.

Great, I did see AltAccept looked similar.

Anyway, I need to get StealthCoin / XST added asap for a new store I'm working on.

How do I get in contact with the dev for expedite requests?

Well you can always add it to the voting request, and wait till a new vote starts. https://www.coinpayments.net/coinreq

Not sure about expedited requests tho, its really been a people vote. So your mainly at the mercy of people that vote for the coins and use them at merchants.

Other than that, I guess you can open a ticket via the support desk. https://coinpay.freshdesk.com/support/home

As well as read up to find who you'd like to contact, as things have changed a lot recently.

AltAccept, lol. Totally not the same. Never heard of that. lol

Hope some of this helps!

Thanks for putting CPN on your voting list. However,  merchants ready to do business with us won't register an account with your service as long as CPN is not accepted.

As soon as you put us on the accepted coins, we will be able to send you clients.

Improved Store Directory

1) Our Store Directory Now Displaying Vendors Feedback. Click on score to view all current feedback.

2) You Now Able to Bump Your listing to the TOP for $10. This action will move your listing to the top of your category and "All Stores" section.
This is fully automated and each person paying to be at the top will consequently push current top position one slot down and so on.

3) We are currently adding a feature which will allow sharing results based on the coin.
This will allow alt coins communities see vendors accepting their coin and share filtered results via social media or direct link.

I mean this, for example. This description here is the uphold wallet:

Cryptocurrencies

There is a small withdrawal fee of 0.0007 BTC applied to every transaction.

There is a 500 bitcoin limit for any single bitcoin transaction. For members who want to transact more than 500 bitcoin or Litecoin, you may execute multiple transactions.

At this time, Litecoin and Ethereum are free to withdraw and fund.

New Plugin: Easy Digital Downloads (Wordpress)

Note: this is an EDD plugin, not a WordPress plugin, so you won't be able to use the WordPress plugin installer. To install the plugin follow the directions in the included install.txt

https://www.coinpayments.net/index.php?cmd=merchant_tools&sub=plugins

I noticed the plugin hasn't been updated since its introduction 4 years ago: https://github.com/CoinPaymentsNet/easy-digital-downloads-coinpayments-gateway

while the woocommerce plugin has been updated 8 months ago.

Make sure you read your emails you can see they are for 2 different payments, one that completed and one you didn't send funds for.

On Friday, I transferred 500 Euros worth of Bitcoin to my CoinPayments account, there I tried converting it to XRP (Ripple). After a couple of hours, the status of the conversion said "cancelled". I haven't heard anything from their support yet, my Bitcoins are gone and I haven't received any Ripples either.
Can anyone here help?

I've spent some time setting up this service to work with our upcoming fundraising drive and it's really great.  I have yet to perform live transactions on it but thus far I highly recommend its flexibility and ease of getting it setup.

After we go live, I'll post updates.  But thank you for the great service!  I looked a few different multicoin gateways and yours really stood out!

I am not affiliated with CoinPayments (beyond using their service) but just wanted to remind you that you should make sure to turn off the Litecoin testnet before your ICO goes live.  I think they should put a notice up on each page while you have the test coin enabled, it can be dangerous to go live with a testnet coin.

Good luck with your ICO!

This seems to be the official CoinPayments announcement. I have a small question, maybe someone can answer it here.

CoinPayments seems to be used by tens or hundreds of thousands merchants (the website cites 737,000). However, it seems that the official directory of merchants (https://www.coinpayments.net/store-directory) has much less entries. So I suppose this directory is opt-in for merchants and contains only a small subset of the total number of merchants using CoinPayments.

Is there a way to know all merchants that accept cryptocurrencies via CoinPayments? I have thought, for example, to google some code snippet that may be used by CoinPayments merchants, and combine this search with other parameters, for example, results per language or country.

My goal is to know if there are merchants in the countries I live in or regularly visit I could use to purchase interesting goods and services.

QR Codes

Long time CoinPayments user here. You guys are doing great things for the advancement of crypto! Too bad a lot of the crypto noobs think that you're responsible if they send BTC to an ETH address or if they send crypto to the wrong address and expect you to get a refund for them.

No refunds in crypto all you noobs!

You are in charge of your own funds so make sure you triple check the details of your transaction!

If the network fee is higher than the amount you're sending, what's the point!

OK, venting over.

Keep up the great work CoinPayments!

No refunds in crypto all you noobs!

You are in charge of your own funds so make sure you triple check the details of your transaction!

If the network fee is higher than the amount you're sending, what's the point!

OK, venting over.

Keep up the great work CoinPayments!

CoinPayments is a legit company. I’ve been using their services for years and never a problem. As a merchant they’re great because you can just use their shopping cart and not have to worry about building your own payment system and wallet. Works great for users who just want to store or convert coins too.

As stated above, if you are converting a super small amount you won't have enough funds to cover the gas/miner fee and third-party conversion fees so don't bother.

It's expensive to use coinpayments as in getting listed. Also if your coin doesn't meet minimum volume requirements don't you get delisted and have to pay the same fee for a relisting?

What is the use of CPS and what is the value? After all, he is not listed on any stock exchange or exchange system.

What does your site do to prevent it from being abused by scammers?

You have a user (GeniMining - I will not link it so that people do not use it by mistake) that is using your service to scam people of BTC for fictitious purchases of ASIC miners which are not in stock anywhere else but they surprisingly have all in stock, any make, very hard to believe due to very low prices.

Please see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5159286.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5159286.0), people have paid into him and your service facilitates the abuse of BTC.

To return to my question:  What does your site do to prevent it from being abused by scammers?

I had been cooperating with CoinPayments for 5 years. The service was okay, but it was expensive when it came to transfer fees. However, everything was okay UNTIL now!

When I started cooperating with CoinPayments, there was no KYC. After some time, they started doing KYC, so I completed it by sending them my documents. I passed the KYC and cooperated with them for a few years without any issues. However, 5 weeks ago, a problem occurred.

Seven weeks ago, I got COVID-19, and it was a terrible experience for me. After recovering from COVID-19, I got every possible illness that I could get one after another, as if I had no immunity( till now i am still sick). During that time, my ID expired, and due to the law in my country, I couldn't issue for new one before 30 days expiry date. So, I was in a situation where I couldn't get a new document because of my illness, and even if I could, I would have to wait for 30 days, and they require docs that are 90 days before expiration date. So if you got 1 ID and if you can't issue for new ID before 30days of expiration date you will get similar problems.

On the same day that my document expired, CoinPayments locked my account entirely. I couldn't withdraw my money, which was not a big deal, but my customers couldn't make payments, which was a huge problem for my business. Banks, payment apps, and other payment providers just asked me to send them the new document when I get it, and they gave me 3-6 months, depending on the company. Because i passed KYC in the past and now it's just an update of ID. Not big deal for all but not for coinpayments.

CoinPayments completely blocked my account, so I wrote to them to solve the situation. They asked me to send them my company registration documents, which I did, but then I received no response from CoinPayments. They just kept saying that they would get back to me soon and that they were looking into my case. For freaking 23 days, they did nothing, and during that time, my customers couldn't pay for my services, and I lost a lot of money. I would understand the situation if I were a new customer or i didn't pass KYC in the past, but not after 5 years of being a customer and passing KYC, and just because my document expired, and I am waiting for a new one.

There is a total lack of willingness to help or solve the situation, especially when other companies didn't have any problems. So, what now? I am waiting for my new documents, my customers can't pay for my services, and after I solve this situation, I will say goodbye to CoinPayments, share my story with the whole internet, and not recommend this company to anyone because of how they treated a long-term customer in such a terrible situation.

If you search coopration with coinpayments i DON'T RECOMMEND IT AT ALL!!!
