Time for an update. To be honest I was not expecting to recieve a large number of votes, but the number of votes have been quite significant. 56 votes of which 12 are solidly for Ripple. I had asked for a coin to rise in 3 days. The price of Ripple has stayed more or less the same.  So that is it. For the rest of the results

Ripple is an interesting product, but I had not expected it to be so dominant in the polls. Everyone knows everything about Ethereum, but Spectrecoin is a different matter . Spectrecoin is supposed to take us completely into the anonymous world. It can even be used in countries that ban TOR. Very interesting. As countries ban cryptocurrency this might be very important. But for what it is worth it is getting 4 votes.

here is the thing, when you ask people what coin is the best you are asking a pretty vague question. and also when people answer such questions 90% of them will choose the coin they "wish to go up" not the coin they "think will go up".

it has always been like this. if you asked them what coin is good before Ripple was pumped (for example in February 2017) not a single person would have said Ripple. but when it was pumped on March and then May everyone started saying Ripple is best investment from end of the pump meaning from June as price of it was falling!

this is classic bag-holder attitude.

I can not answer this question. I have more than 20 coins in my portfolio, which I believe. If I try, I can identify the 5 most promising in my opinion. I can not choose only one.

Ripple is not a real crypto , its a scam.  Anyways the best altcoin in my opinion is ethereum.  So many other cryptos are run on the eth platform.  Just look at how many transactions ethereum does everyday compared to other cryptos.

Ethereum, bitcoin and monero are the best ones, I would not take ripple as a coin at all. It may be rather a very risky investment to me.

There is no "best altcoin" out there because anyone has a favorite coin that he likes. For me it is Monero because I like the dev and the team and I am a big fan of anon coins. Anon coin will be a huge thing in the future!

I don't think that ripple is a good coin. I see bad comments about it continuously and it is giving no trust.

Anyway, for me, the best altcoin is ethereum. Because, I think it have a really good potential for the future. Also it is innovative and promising.

I've heard it too that ripple will not good for long term it will expect a sudden fall price. On the above list, I always look on ethereum, spectrecoin as the best altcoin also this year. While you mention on babb, I can say this is also good to invest their pre sale is already successful.

I have ripple and I believe this coin will increase in the future , I also have ethereum,  bitcoin and monero this three coin is very high price and for sure most of the people earn a lot of profit because the price of this three coin last few years aho is very cheap and if you see the price is very high. That's the fact, every user believes in it. Consider ripple, it is all about real time usage and has got connected to several banking sectors which assures the growth. Based on that most users have supported it. When it comes to ethereum, it is the one that has been growing in a gradual manner. I never think this is best and that is not, because each grows depending upon the support from the development team as well the effort taken on listing to different exchanges.

I do not think there  is the best altcoin ,we need to search for new altcoins with a low supply and a dedicated team of developers.One example is DeepUnion, an altcoin with a high community and the price is going up every week.

It's the matter of finding one which is very low and with relatively small Total Supply (less than 100M)!.

It is better to invest in altcoins which has a real and feasible idea.

Bitcoin is the fisrt and best crypto of all time but you shouldn't mention that as altcoin since that is the main coin.

Lol...You're right man, I was going to point out how people are too emotional with cryptos and are swayed easily by the slightest change in chart trends. They have a habit of skipping Whitepaper and Roadmap 101.

But as for ripple, I think anyone voting for it should be because of bank's plausible interest in it's protocol.

The best altcoin i know so far :
1. Litecoin : the community very strong the network fast and the distribution fair.
2. Dash : huge support from community. Most of them also bitcoin supporter. First altcoin using masternodes. First altcoin using instant x.
3. Monero : we have no any doubt about its privacy its like dissappear if we already save our money on monero and can not be tracking.

Other than these you could always go for Litecoin or Monero. Litecoin has shown great stability over the years. Being adopted by coinbase has made the coin's potential increase in the market as the coin has been more widely accepted worldwide now.
Monero on the other hand is the best privacy coin till now. Transactions through the coin are untraceable as they are made through ring signature. Ethereum is the best altcoin and second to the best in cryptocurrency. For me Ethereum and Litecoin are the best altcoins especially with the advanced updates, eth has already given its plans to solve the scaling issues by adding exvessive layers to its blockchain and litecoin is already developing some instant payment features like lightening network, so i think both of them will be big in coming months.

Actually, despite that there is a wide spread crisis in the market but I think that there are many profitable cryptocurrencies especially who exist on the first rank ( TOP 20 ) because the profit in those coins is guaranteed especially in a middle and   long term  because it is difficult that this big drop will end during this period due to those problems ( like , collective ban of crypto by te  governments ) will last for some period  and  possibly , they will be resolved after few weeks or maybe months .

For all the altcoins that you had mentioned only ethereum and ripple I trust because we still don't have assurance how the other altcoins can survive in the big dip  atleast ethereum and ripple already established their popularity.

we are talking about altcoins not bitcoins . anyway i think there is no best altcoins because all of them do have a certain disadvantage . some alts do also have an advantage that cant be found on the other. 

however when if you say semi best altcoin , i  think etherium is probably the one because etherium is the only first altcoin that exist after the creation of bitcoin.  etherium do also have a lot of usage when compared to other altcoins .

Personally I prefer to create portfolio main part (50-60%) of which consists of Bitcoin, Ethereum and 2 altcoins from top 50 (may be XLM and ADA). And also I think it is better to invest 5-10% of portfolio (it is risky) in another altcoins with big potential, may be something like SC, XVG, IOTA... But what to choose is up to you.
