Lots of people are feeling very sick for bitcoin's price down. 2 Days ago, one of my known brothers texted me that he almost went for a heart attack! Because he invested all of his money on bitcoin and altcoins.Actually, I am feeling tensed too.
So, what do you think, What is the main reason for Bitcoin Price down? Will it stay for a long time?

There have been a lot of fear being put in the market. The main reason for yesterday price down was because China start to crack down on some ICO and ban Chinese user from using international exchanges.

I guess there are a lot of factors in play that is affecting the value of bitcoin at the moment. FUD's, the issue in China, facebook banning crypto ads, or maybe market manipulation just to name a few. We can never really pinpoint the exact reason.

No one main reason, but a myraid of reasons why Bitcoin is suffering last few days. Although you should note Singapore came out and said they are all for it and believe it or not the USA did the same earlier today when the SEC and CFTC came out and essentially said similar things. Bullish signal for me, don't know about all you peeps.

it's all because FUDs and bad news, it's an usual thing in crypto, the whales want to take more profit from it. if the price is always go up. how to make a living from trading ?

Why should we be tense with this condition, we just take this good opportunity by buying bitcoin again when the price is cheap like this and we surely profit, I think this decrease because of bad news news and the new year imlek that need a lot of money flat to celebrate, we are patient while there is nothing to worry about.

There are many cause behind the fall of bitcoin price in market. one of them is FUD.
because this FUD, many bitcoin holders sell the bitcoin and other crypto on the market,
that cause the market price fall. but i think it will not stay too long in the bottom.

i think bitcoin price will up after 4-5 month.now i am also feel scared about bitcoin down price. :(

One of the reasons I think is the impact of negative news. Such as the prospect of tougher regulation in China, South Korea, and India. Or, maybe it is due to credit cards ban in the US and Britan, banning card holders from buying Bitcoin and other coins using their cards.

I think the main reason is that the government's policy on the prohibition of bitcoin affects the price of bitcoin, and the holiday of the Oriental Spring Festival may also have some impact.

I would say a lot of the reason is people selling the news, but there was a bit of an overall effect on the global market which could have caused the issue.

Impossible to say exactly what it is, there was a lot of news happening over the last week or so that could have had an effect, and now that things have slowed down on the negative news side and picked up on the positive.

All about money. Those whales are not playing. They will do anything to get in cheap. Remember Jp Morgan in October 2017?

well i think this case is normal. because when i started joining in this cryptoworld the price of bitcoin is 100k+ Philippine money. and after a long time the price of bitcoin is not stable sometimes it got the higher price sometimes it low but i dont know why. and suddenly i know it,some reason is the investor that withdraw thier balance on thier account, and because of the low price of bitcoin, a lot of investors will encourage other people to enter in this cryptoworld to invest thier money..

Don't panic Bitcoin eventually recover it may take some months but it'll for sure recover. Also never put all of your money into crypto trading as it is very risky. Invest only which you afford to lose.

Well it not bitcoin's fault if your brother invested a lot. Can you guess who's fault it is ?

Dumps never stay long. Even in days prices are already starting to recover.  But in my opinion it will recover to as fast as you would expect it could.
Maybe expect few more dumps for a while.
Surely, this is still because of high fees and slow transactions. Chaos all over the place. Not to mention panic selling

i feel bad for your brother, but this is the lesson for ur to not put all of your money on bitcoin, like people say "use money that you can afford to lose". Because bitcoin is very unpredictible and bitcoin still not legalized on most of country. so it's still very risky to use all of your money to bitcoin.

In my opinion the main reason for bitcoin price down because some people or the investors heard a bad news about bitcoin. So people want secure their money, and it causes they stop invest. But we don't worry, because it will rise again soon. The  other reason is the government ban bitcoin, so it affects price is down. But we don't worry because btc price is not stable sometimes its drop and rise. 

First of all main thing everyone should consider while investing it that there is risk of lose, so we should invest only the amount of money we can afford. Second thing is that reasons are different, politics, worldwide trends, investment amounts and etc.

I think One of the reasons is that when the crypto currency like bitcoin getting banned in other countries so the price of bitcoin is so much affected becaise of that. And you know what? because of the panic selling also the bitcoin price is lowering.

Main thing is simply natural market fluctuation.

Every 4 years or so bitcoin gets a big pump, and then after that big pump will be obviously a big dump, which we have seen right now. But this has also been contributed to via the constant bad news that crypto has been receiving over the past few months basically.

To put it simply - bitcoin was overvalued, and it is just returning to the norm now that investor expectations are not as artificially high anymore.

It may stay down for a long time, but I think it's worth buying at these levels. Shouldn't be much risk but a lot of rewards.

There are factors affecting bitçoin price and these affect also other investors and this is really quite alarming and if you're one of those investor you would probably have a heart attack, but what can a mere man like us do to make it up again... But to wait and  see what will happen next..and Hope for the best..

I think its because of the rumors spreading all over the world that bitcoin will be gone and then people/investors who don't really know the situation panic selling their holdings.

I think the trend is directly related to the US stock market, and if the US stock market turns to bear, then there will be a corresponding decline in bitcoin.

the first reason is the result of the correction in 2017, other factors, some countries make rules about bitcoin, and some even illegal. several more bans on social media. this is combined to be a disaster.

The biggest factors that affects the bitcoin price is the demand. Actually, As bitcoin goes down, I think many people are not minding it. They didnt tried to open any accounts that connected to bitcoin because they wanted to be comfortable. Like me, I dont want to remember bitcoin's price if it is decreasing. Because it will stressed up my mind. If the demand is increasing, I know that bitcoins price will increase too.

its because of all the fuds around bitcoin and crypto or could be price manipulation by whales, trying to get cheap bitcoins. you should not feel sick if you are in for the long haul. you will always see huge drops and ups in bitcoin price, hold and sell at whatever price you're comfortable. i will be selling out some btcs at 25k usd.

I think no one can say clearly about bitcoin price rising and falling that when will be the price of bitcoin increased or decreased,
But according to my opinion the main reason of bitcoin falling and rising is the demand and supply of bitcoin in market.
as demand of bitcoin in market fall then price of bitcoin in market also start falling while as demand of bitcoin in market increased then price of bitcoin will also increased.

I think it's just that bitcoin has been overestimated, and recently as more and more investors have entered the cryptocurrency market.
The bubble that caused the bitcoins was constantly amplified, and recently it was just a process of pricking the bubble, but I believe that the future bitcoin will continue to rise. ;D

Korea ban on anonymous crypto trading (wrongly reported in the media as a out right ban )

China ban initiated in sept 2017 finalized in dec 2017/jan 2018,

 India finance minister saying btc is not legal tenure (wrongly reported in the media as all crypto trading in India now illegal )

 Lots of countries coming out saying regulations are needed.(wrongly reported in the main stream media as world governments coming down hard on crypto)

 and other news stories such as face book banning crypto adds, hacs and uk government halting people from using credit cards to buy crypto (wrongly reported in media as all bank cards )

 But what started this little mess was our best friend who we visit every day - coin market cap-  they took south korean money off the total market cap.Billions were wiped out immediately, no one knew why until late that afternoon- by then the damage was done. Cryptos were not invincible.

Guys and girls - regulation is needed. It is what will make this industry respected. Regulation is needed for big corporations to risk billions in this market. They need rules. BTC will remain the same - a place where your money is safe from central banks.   Just be thankful the USA did not come out today in the hearings and recommend a ban on crypto -if they had this would truly have been a disaster.

ps: you cant play the lotto or scratch cards with credit cards, you cant place bets on any web site on earth with a credit card and some countries dont allow the buying of gold with credit cards so I am not surprised that UK government banned this. Actually I cant believe people were doing this !!

i think the main reason to the  bitcoin price down is giving a chance to some investors to bur more on it so that is not too much stay for a long time.

The price is getting lower.. quite logically, because it was crazy by the end of 2017! But if you remember well, one year ago the price was around 3k. So the current price has actually doubled if you compare month to month.

Then, I understand that you can be worried if you have invested all you money.. But at what moment did you think it was a good idea? Bitcoin is not a short-term trading tool! Prices tend to get higher over the long term.. But you must be ready to wait a very long time without needing your initial investment.

So, yes it is normal. It can bounce back but nobody can tell you when. Be brave (and stop investing money you can't afford to lose)!

For me the main reason of bitcoin falling and rising is the demand and supply of bitcoin in market but we cant clearly say about bitcoin price rising and falling that when will be the price of bitcoin increased or decreased but one thing is for sure,  the low price of bitcoin will not stay for too long.

First off, its not sensible investing all your money into bitcoin. If your brother did study about cryptocurrencies and not jumped in because of some hype, then he won't be getting all nervous. Anyone who's been into crypto for a while now would tell you that's a very bad idea.

Some of the reasons I think is that,it is banned in some other countries, like in China,where some or most of the populations use crypto in investments,purchasing,etc.. and in Britain,where people use their credit cards to buy btc coins.

The main reason is media, the keep spread many bad news about bitcoin. People perspective has very big impact to bitcoin price. If people pretend that bitcoin is a good thing then many people will buy it, but if not many people will avoid bitcoin.

The reason for BTC price down is because of many fuds around spreading rumours about banning BTC in few countries. No one knows when will BTC recover.

Bitcoins has been rising very fast when it reached almost $20k past year and always after a huge pump bitcoins has also got a dump as bitcoins gets overvalued and this drop is just adjusting it current real value according to the demand.I think this correction was kind of big and it might take bitcoins some months to recover from this drop.But this drop was somewhat expected and it created opportunity to buy more bitcoins at cheaper rates.

The main reason why bitcoin price falls down is because of the bad news  that are releasing by media about bitcoin but there's nothing to worry about the price because it will surely recover and increase in price.We had to be patient in keeping our bitcoin because after the fall there is a possibily to increase it's price again.

There are too many bad news for Bitcoin which causes price to fall. I personally feel that Bitcoin price might recover toward end of Feb or early Mar when good news start to surface.

We cannot know if what is really the main reason that why bitcoin price will down, i heard some opinion to other people they may say, maybe due to banned of other countries, and the negative news. I think we cannot say that this is our basis but its not proven. In my opinion its an ordinary that happen to btc that sometimes it increase or decrease its price. I think it will not take too long to stay, that bitcoin price is down, and i believe it will increasing on the coming days.

I think, the main reason of bitcoin price down is cause by china and korea's bitcoin banned. It really affects the price of bitcoin to get low. And, will it stay for a long? Well, who knows, maybe, we don't know yet, but one thing is for sure, it will surely go high again, because in a matter of days months or weeks, the process of all bitcoin investors around the world is on the way, and it will help to recover the bitcoin value to reach the the higher digit again.

The current price dip we are all experiencing sure is worrisome and is demotivating, but I am happy to tell you guys that this dip is not forever, and no, bitcoin won't die. The current price dip is just normal, in fact bitcoin has  been experiencing this kinds of dips way back from its humble beginnings. we just have to hold on and do measures to make sure bitcoin recovers.

There are many possibilities that the reason why bitcoin now is in dip, facing many issues in some countries as one factor of decreasing bitcoin by the markets. Or these few months ago many holidays come like christmas, new year and this lunar year that some holders are selling their bitcoin.
Or another fact that bitcoin is in dip is traditional dipping of bitcoin, if you see the previous chart of price movement in bitcoin eventually these month of January and February bitcoin was decreasing in a market and back at last quarter of the year. That's what my conclusion correct me if i'm wrong.

The main reason for the decline in bitcoin prices is a correction by developers aimed at fixing bitcoin better in the future in order to benefit everyone and the decline in bitcoin prices are also caused by the many issues in China that prohibit bitcoin. The bitcoin decentralized system makes the price decline unlikely to last as bitcoin users will not be comfortable with the decline so that in the near future the next few months the bitcoin I predict will rise again.

There are many factors that affects the price of bitcoin, but i think the number reason is the banning of it. It affect not only the market but also the mind of the people. They start to panic, and sell their bitcoin. Which is not a good thing. For me the price of bitcoin is still high compare to its price when in it still starting. All of us are starting to invest in bitcoin because we like it and we trust, so theres nothing o worry about, this drop is just a part of getting a bigger profit, so just wait and relax our profit is on its way.

I am really sorry for you guys. However, the "why" it happened really doesn't matter now, and unfortunately it may be a long time it stays low, last time when such a deep dip happened in 2015 it stayed about 3-5 times lower than the top for several months.

I guess the main reason why the price of bitcoin is going down is because of the governments who want to do their best to make it an illegal way of earning money all over the world. They always find time to make bitcoin price down so that all the participants on that site will no longer find time to invest or to trade in it. I think it will last if all the governments in all over the world will be participating and supporting bitcoin.

Lately, there have been so many occurences in crypto market that may have caused its awful dump. Different countries have their own different issues about cryptocurrencies and it afflicted the market badly. Some false news were scattered in this forum which made the people panic. I think bitcoin is still trying to recover and since its pump was extremely surprising last year, it is recalibrating. Let us wait and be patient.

Those fun regarding bitcoin regulation and Chinese & Korean bitcoin crackdown that are, but pretty sure that those factors aren't the main thing that makes the price be dumped so hard like now. It's because there's so many newcomers come to bitcoin lately trying to earn some fortune but ended up easily panicked and doing a panic sell. The dump is not worse than the last year's, it looks huge because the amount or price of bitcoin is huge too, but I believe that in the middle of the year, it'll start recovering up again and we'll soon see new ATH but that's just my believe.

The cause of bitcoin falls now, because of the bad news on bitcoin, one of which is the news about banned bitcoin in India. With more and more bad news about bitcoin, it will make many people panic and sell their assets. This is fake news, Indian governament clearly mentioned that they are not entertaining Bitcoin payment mode but Crypto trading is legal. If you receive any money from exchange site you have to pay tax to governament. they collected information who all registered in exchange sites and if you received money from these exchange sites on or before 31st of March you guys will receive IT notice.

I think  a big government is behind this fall. It could be US or kingdom. Also they could be the one which is behind the pump. I believe they are trinn to scare people and making their cryptocurrency. Because they one this thing is the future but bitcoin is not ownable.

One good reason is that big banks and financial institutions bans Bitcoin purchases on their credit cards. Using the excuse that buying crypto-currencies might get people into debt, they simply choose to abuse the rights of their customers by telling them what they are allowed to buy with their credit cards. Just some whales wanted to buy some bitcoin. A lot of fake news dropped down the price. I hope they bought enough already.

The price decrease did not come all of a sudden, we saw it coming day after day. After the FUD about China and Korea banning cryptocurrencies, then the hack of Coincheck and then later the news about India also banning crypto, the price dropped below 6K. But then it increased again after the US Senate hearing on cryptocurrencies. Hopefully the bullish trend will take the price to the levels we've seen before.

As far as I know that there are many people got shock or heart attack with bitcoin’s price now .Nobody can know the major reason why bitcoin goes down currently, but to speak frankly I suppose that this is really normal. Because we all know that bitcoin is notoriously volatile which make us be hardly predict its fluctuation . Especially, one commodity that most of us both know that bitcoin or cryptocurrencies requires us lots of risks, we’d better not use all of our money for this digital currency. Almost the people who had worried too much ,both invest all money for its. In totally ,it’s really difficult for us to get a huge benefits, you and me shouldn’t be too risky to put all our asset for bitcoin or another

Dont panic.This is normal in market place bitcoins price is volatile they can go low price or higher than we expected.The lesson learned is dont put our money in one basket.We should diversify into different investments.And i think this is not for a long time bitcoin rises again.

The bitcoin market is volatile and you cannot predict it's up coming moves as i always say it could get some postive feedbacks and also gets adopted in more use cases then you will see an uptrend or the oppissite could happen and you see some short time downtrend but what all members here advise others with don't invest what you cannot afford to lose

Well you are right it is not the time to put all your money in one thing if you are new but mate if you had experience it is good to use invest in bitcoin, for me there is no investment better than bitcoin as it has a lot of benefits, it is safe and it is easy to use anytime, so I am holding my bitcoin not going to sell at the panic price, bitcoin will give me profit if I will have some patience for some time. Now the market demand of bitcoin is increasing it is no longer at low price, so invest confidently.

Unfortunately the liquidity of bitcoin is still low, 2000 btc selling is enough to make the price fall. There are also whales that still has controls of bitcoin price, there are many bad news related bitcoin those bad news makes people sell their bitcoin. The price is increasing day by day as the ETF dates are coming near. It happened the previous time too. As the ETF dates were coming near the price slowly started rising albeit it again went down when the result was negative. Positive news in the market is driving the price of BTC upwards and I believe that if things keep going this way then by the end of September we might see BTC crossing $8500 and by the end of the year the price might cross $10k - $12k .
