Is suitable to continue to invest in bitcoin? It's future is not clear for us...
What about the ETH? what is the opinion for it?

I rather invest both of them, Invest is put eggs in some nests, invest all coin is better than only focus for one coin.

These are two TOTALLY DIFFERENT coins.  Bitcoin is meant to be used as a payment system and has recently also become a "hedge" to many investors.  Ethereum is a coin that utilizes smart contracts on it's platform to create applications etc.  It's coin Ether is meant to pay one another for those projects.  The two are totally different coins.  

Ethereum has some inherent problems one being a single layered coin.  I personally like Cardano (ADA) as better replacement for ETH- Cardano utilizes a multi-layered infrastructure. "The accounting layer is separate from the smart contract execution layer. This is a signifcant innovation since it allows for absolute flexibility in protocol utilization, app development and security systems". Bitcoin is undoubtedly the best coin to "invest" in at the moment.  Not that others aren't ( I like IOTA, GameCredits, and ADA as well) but BTC is King.

Btc is always best to invest compare to other coin, but it needs a big capital in order to gain huge profit. Eth is quite good also being no. 2 in the list give us assurance that the coin has  a potential like any other coins.

As you can comparing the two bitcoin is much volatile than ETH so it means bitcoin offers much opportunities in earning. Even in short time you can earn so much in bitcoin, the ETH is much better if you want you investment to be much secure and stable as to its nature is it change little by little.

The choice depends on what kind of investor/trader are you. The one has a great advantage over the other depending on what fits you the best.

Personally i invest with both of them.
But most of my investmwnts are with eth.
I do see a lot of potentials woth eth especially that there are now so many contracts using it.
Therefore the demand for eth token will surely go up.

In my opinion, ethereum doesn't have the ability to go up alone without bitcoin, since i have been noticing the crypto market, ethereum rises whenever bitcoin surges. It is more favourable when you choose bitcoin as a primary investment, you can have investments in ether also but it comes after bitcoin

Bitcoin and Etherum really roll to the name of cryptocurrencies. What differs upon this cryptos are their value. Obviously they are somehow competitors of each others wanting to be use and patronise but we must not put this two into war but feel free to use both of it in a win win basis.

Diversification, just like in the traditional financial world, should hold true in the crypto world as well. Why not invest in both as they both provide unique contributions to the decentralized universe. 

Last year, I thought that eth was a better investment than bitcoin, because last year ico was very good, but the market of ico is very bad this year, so I think we should invest in bitcoins instead of eth.

what makes you say that bitcoin is not clear? Like Father, Like Son! I think father and son of this coin are both very potential for the future. most people would rather invest bitcoin because they know even if the price fluctuates selelu but its profits are very large, some people also invest ethereum because ethereum is good to be made On the second thought. they realize that investing in one place is not good.

I will pick BTC, BTC is what government are talking about not Ethereum, Ethereum still has many strong competitor and is possible it can be surpass by any other good tech in the smart contract space but BTC has no other digital cash close to it, for me itcoin is what hold the space together but some people don't want to acknowledge this

Ethereum has so many usefulness compared with bitcoin and it has a lot of advantages such as smartcontract and you can make any dapps based on ethereum platform and what will you do with bitcoin? Nothing.

ETH VS BTC which one will be worth to invest? Both are equally good if to invest but if you have little capital and afraid to lose much then I suggest to invest in Ethereum only. 79

I think both are great. ETH as the first smart contract coin and lots of tokens and BTC as the first cryptocurrency with a great distribution, perfect to be a store of value, Gold 2.0. 

Both can thrive. I think it's more likely ETH will be replaced than BTC though, but ETH is really far ahead with all these tokens.

Definitely both if you are after profit, then it is a wise decision to split your investment to this two coins, because they are the top 2 crypto currency in the market, so before you invest on other coin, or on Ico  be sure you first invest on this two coins.

Personally, I prefer to invest in ETH, now more and more people are approaching ETH. And many predictions say ETH will overtake BTC. I think this is likely to happen in the future. ETH will beat BTC. Still the bitcoin is the worth though both short term and long term investment. Also ethereum though , on the short term and the both coins can have a positively profit or income and a better future.

At this point in time there is not a need to run any kind of detailed analysis about in which of those two coins to invest, bitcoin has proven since the beginning that is going to resist almost anything that people can throw at it and ethereum was able to become the second coin in terms of market cap thanks to its huge flexibility and the great number of projects running above it, you cannot go wrong by investing in one of them and if it is possible invest in both of them.

I invested in Ethereum and bitcoin before a while and I will not sell these two coins before 2020. I am just taking some profits over the time to secure my invested money and I sell some to pay bills and other stuff!

Agreed that splitting your capital into both is best. They are already rather different from each other. BTC is the "gold standard" of value storage and transfer in the decentralized world. ETH is Turing Complete and enables Smart Contracts. (And after Casper, ETH will be even more different with Proof of Stake.) If you want to be invested in crypto, then split your fiat into 2 chunks and buy both.

I will invest in both, probably 70% in bitcoin and 30% in ETH.

for now, I keep some bitcoins. yeah, honestly, before the price goes down, I sell eth that I know because beberpa reason. but, if i choose an investment between bitcoin, and eth, i will choose eth. I think it's more stable.

Both are good, both are solid and both are big, i suggest to diversify and hold both, this year is going to be huge for both eth and btc.

In my opinion, better to invest in BTC, as we all know its the most popular in this crypto world.

I believe that you need to continue investing in bitcoin. It shows a good growth chart. But this does not mean that it is worth abandoning other currencies altogether. The choice is yours.

Do you need profit? If you are familiar with BTC you are probably wrong. In the crypto market we should race, explore the digital money has the potential to invest. But you are loyal to BTC you may love it too. I personally prefer to invest in ETH, not because I know ETH but I know ETH will thrive in the future.

But bitcoin is much better than eth because last year it hits its higher price, and now its price is low. So now  is the good time to buy more bitcoin and then wait untill its price gets higher.

Both are worth the investment. But you should invest in ETH. Because ETH is very potential. And prices are much cheaper than BTC

For me investing in etherum for long term will be more profitable than bitcoin cause bitcoin will have bigger pumps but after that it will have the same downs, etherum is more stable and longterm hodl will give more income.

Ethereum more volatile than bitcoin. If we take advantage of every knock on market, doesn't rule out investment in ETH more worth than BTC. I am optimistic in both, so the portion of my investment was divided into 2.

why do you think like this? ok bitcoin price is maybe unpredictable and go very down in the future but as soon as blockchain technology remain, cryptocurrencies will stay alive. bitcoin will continue dominating the crypto market for a while more for sure.

I would still trust btc to invest for its stability and value that never give up to increase daily.This coins is better than any other coins because of being profitable in the market and has a brighter future than any coins .

BTC for now, its more practical for me to invest on BTC because it is the best cryptocurrency right now. EHT as the second best, can be a good option for investment also.

Since the ETH is unlimited in number, thus more people would be able to hold it compared to the BTC although it's price could rise almost near to where the value of BTC is at the moment, it would take a long time. here is a topic I would like to share that is about the BTC, but the principle would also apply for the ETH. The BTC's value, as well as considering how the prices alter almost everyday would be a good buy(wherein a high probability of its price suddenly jumping 100% in just a short amount of time, exists). Wherein if you spend a particular amount for its purchase, you would have a high probability of earning 30 to 60% or more profit within a month or 2 (it is possible). For the ETH that includes other Altcoins, and the value it has at the moment, which is more "reasonable" because it is more cheaper than the BTC, and if you are the type of investor that expects to make profit every week or month....you can actually make 10 to 15% profits from regularly buying and selling ETH and other Altcoins. So this would depend on the type of approach or strategy the investor would use. The price or value of the "merchandise" (whether BTC or ETH,plus other Altcoins), would undermine or determine the profit a person would make. The cheaper it is, (Like the ETH and other Altcoins) the smaller the profit is if you are the type of investor who regularly sells and buys and repeats the process, but if you are the long term investor (or those who would hold on to it for a very long time until value reaches more than 500% or more), then your money would sort-of "sleep". For the BTC on the other hand, it is already on a value that is somewhat risky but the dynamic market and value (how fast its value changes) it has, can make it a good investment as well. Thus, to conclude, both cryptocurrencies have potentials of being a good buy, thus a good investment, and to further increase a holders chances of turning it as a good investment, then, a proper approach would determine this, the success, that is.

for the long term I will invest for bitcoin and for the short term Ethereum I think is better because of the financial needs of someone different... :)

Bitcoin is a payment system and a store of wealth at this point in time.  Ethereum is a blockchain based coin created to to utilize smart contracts to build apps and what not.  Ether it's coin, is used to make payments for work done on the platform, IS NOT meant to be used as a world currency.  It is also made on a single layer (Unlike other smart contract coins such as ADA which utlize a double layer'd platform-which is VERY IMPORTANT).  This user is a fool, please do your own homework and don't listen to fools like this.

For me both are really good investments, especially at current bitcoin price I am filling up my bitcoin bag  ;)

For me the best to invest is bitcoin because many people become rich on bitcoin.bitcoin is nice pricing and we can sure if we invest it we will get a great profit because bitcoin is moving pricing sometimes rise,sometimes down pricing so that we can plan if the bitcoin will down  we can buy it and wait the exact time to sell but the important of that is waiting and patience because we know the bitcoin will rise quickly so that monator the price and decide if this is the exact time to sell.

I think both are going to go up a lot in the future. ETH's price is relative to the price of BTC, so if we see a huge rise in BTC price, then ETH will go up a lot as well. Also, if there's that much money coming in to the market cap to make the price of BTC go up, there will be a lot more money in the market for ETH as well. So either is a safe investment in my opinion.

BTC is quite good for investment but the value of BTC is quite large. Because value has reduced the number of people accessing BTC. But the popularity of ETH on ICO projects is high. ETH is considered to be the most valuable digital currency in the future. can be equal to BTC. I would choose ETH to invest instead of choosing bitcoin. That is my personal opinion. I would choose to invest in btc first because bitcoin for now is secure in terms of long term holding. Btc is founded strong and the first coin in crypto world. It is nice and bright decision to invest in btc. Then next I will choose too ethereum because eth is potentially grow from cheap value to 1k price.! Omg. We can see the good development of this coin. Here is the thing, if you believe that the future of bitcoin is not clear because you heard and read a statement which is something negative against bitcoin, then how much more the future of eth. Remember that bitcoin is already dominating the world of cryptocurrency, many investors are really in love with it, if this stability of bitcoin is not enough or convincing then it is more likely to eth.  But both are good I think and everyone who is participating for this cryptos has a good future from it.

Selling at 2020 is too soon, we are going to get a halving in that year and if you sell before that you could lose some great profits at least in your bitcoin investments so if you are planning to hold until that year anyway it could be a good idea to at least hold until the halving and wait for the price increase, at least that is what I would do if I was in your shoes but I personally plan to hold for even longer, I will hold for as long as I can since right now I do not have any need to use my bitcoin holdings at all.

Both are worth the investment, although Bitcoin will be a safer investment at this point. You really can't go wrong as both are profitable, the only question is which is more profitable?

Two coins have different purpose wherein bitcoin is for payment system while ethereum is use for smart contract execution. This top two coins in terms of market cap are in demand because these two are use as base coin when trading so if you want to get a coin then you can buy either of this two if there is no fiat pairing available. These two are the most famous coins in the crypto space as well so there is a high demand for them in which case you may want to invest to both of them.

If ever I can choose only one though it would always be bitcoin because its price has a big impact to other altcoins which would include ETH. Diversification would still be the best alternative though wherein you spread out your investment to a maximum of five coins you believe in.

I do not think there is going to be a great difference between bitcoin and ethereum both have big market caps already and are the two best projects you can invest in the long term, the only reason to choose one over the other has to do with the advantage bitcoin has of being the first coin and the advantage that gives to it, since it is likely that means that in the long term the profitability of bitcoin will be higher as that is the coin most regular people will adopt.

I think eth is overvalued and bitcoin undervalued.
You can buy things with bitcoin and it is start point for almost every newcomer while when I hear ETH I only think about how I have to fill my wallet with it to send my next signature bounty payment and exchange it to bitcoins.

Both coins are good for investing because they are two strongest coins now. But to obtain a large profit the reliability of the coin is not enough. It's very important to choose the right time to get in. It seems to me that buying ETH can bring more profit atm.

You cannot actually compare the two because they have different purpose and usage and they are on different platforms. As we know bitcoin is treated as the main currency in the cryptocurrency world and a lot of people trust it because of the convenience it brought and it's potential in terms of profit. On the other hand, ethereum is used by a lot of ICOs and coins as their platform and a lot of it trust using their platform. So, both has a good potential in terms of long-term investment.

For me, I will choose ETH at any time. The use-cases of ETH with ERC20, smart-contracts etc. is simply those of BTC superior. Pretty sure its market cap will overtake BTC in a year or two. But then again, if people only invest in coins they are familiar with (bitcoin) this won't hold...

Timing becomes the most important thing. I think when we can do the right timing then the whole coin is a thing that has a good prospect. As you say that Bitcoin and etherum are indeed the best coin right now, but when we can not use the right time then we will not get profit. In the race between bitcoin and Ethereum, the winner has always remained the bitcoin. It is at the top of the crypto currencies even after countless efforts from its biggest and all time rival ETH. It is also not the case with me that I underestimate Ethereum or hate it but the facts should be acknowledged by everyone. Bitcoin is far better than Ethereum in giving profits and it should be the first choice of any investor looking for the best digital coin.

All, thank you for your insights! I have bought some when it was 12 cents following all the hype and opinions out there. Now I undestand that was not my best decision. Lesson learnt. As for the price expectations, my expectation is similar to yours, i.e. I am not expecting it skyrocket either. As soon as the coin gets at least 20-25 cents, I will get rid of it. As for the Marketing Team, it is really weak. It needs to do more to be among the top peojects, otherwise it will fail and let down all its support community which is huge.

Bitcoin is still the king of cryptocurrency. May the value be low or high, he still holds the throne because those altcoins are affected when BTC moves down or moves up. Bitcoin has millions of believers and those who criticized it are also believers disguising only as murderers of bitcoin.

Both coin worth to invest for very long term. Bitcoin is a pioneer for cryptocurrencies and it will always be gold of cryptocurrencies total issued coin only 21 million will male btc hit $200k. the decline in the btc value has certainly affected the eth value

the fight of choosing a best coin to invest between ETH and bitcoin is always unpredictable outcomes. until today bitcoin still be the great choice of all investors around the world, we all have more believe in bitcoin that it will rise more than 20000$ in this year, so more investors hold on bitcoin because of this, but ETH can be more useful in than bitcoin because we can make contracts faster and more convinient than any other altcoins, so choosing ETH or BTC is still a hard choice for all of us, so why don't you choose both?

Only both. Plus, Neo, EOS. And if there is enough money, then all the coins are from the top 10.

Both of these assumptions are flawed:

(1) All that it means that a coin is #1 is that the market capitalization is the largest. That does not mean more opportunity for an individual investor. It may mean more liquidity than a much smaller coin, but since ETH is #2, it has plenty of liquidity too.

(2) Nominal prices may vary a lot, but again that does not mean more opportunity for an individual investor. That's because the variation in price in ETH is just as much on a percentage basis.

The best coins on the market in my opinion are btc. For me ethereum is the next Bitcoin. Like bitcoin, Ethereum also has great potential. but for me prefer to invest to btc rather than to eth  :)

Bitcoin and Ethereum both don’t even belong to same league. I am with you in this matter. Bitcoin is better than Ethereum. Though I admire Ethereum more than any altcoin but if a winner has to be chosen between the Crypto KING and altcoin King, no doubt first one will win. Bitcoin is the king of crypto currencies. It has larger community of investors than Ethereum and can give a way larger amount of profits than Eth can.

to my opinion, BTC will always be the best crytocurrency of all coins, i know bitcoin still have many disadvantages because it is too old now, bitcoin nowadays can only be used in trading and holdings, so it is valueable because of its price, as i normal trader, i always set my target to get mor profit than the future of the crypto, so i will choose to invest in BTC.

As of now I am looking further with ethereum than Bitcoin but I am Holding this two coin, bitcoin fluctuation really hurts the market and the certain price of what I HODl and it makes me panic every time but I have a full control of my emotion. However half amount of my btc is converted to ethereum, because even ETH fluctuates its price it doesn't really hurt the market at all so bad. So eth is far greater to be inbvested nowadays, just my perspective.

I guess I will not agree to both of you. The market cap is not the sole basis, nor is it considered a reliable basis even, in terms of how many times a certain coin will multiply its value. If the coin is offering a technology that is really great, then even if the market cap has already reached half a billion dollar, its growth will continue. That was what happened to Bitcoin. There used to be a time when nobody would thought that Bitcoin would reach a market cap of 1 Billion USD. That amount seemed too high and impossible. And yet it reached that.

With regard to community population, I think no other community can go near the number of members of the Bitcoin community. Not even Ethereum. Bitcoin's community is so large and wide. No other coin is as widely used as Bitcoin.

Yes bitcoin is still the futures of economic. I have no doubt about it. Even it crash to $3000 because i have seen it crash from $1300 to $150 and bitcoin come back to $1300 then creat new high. So i dont have reason to not trusting it. Ethereum is not its competitor. Ethereum has different use.

Bitcoin is far better than Ethereum. Ethereum is nowhere near to bitcoin. It is not like I am a hater of Ethereum but we all have seen the amount of profit bitcoin yielded to its investors last year and that of Ethereum too. Bitcoin must be given top priority. If possible, diversification should be done. It is good to have more than one coin. Hold bitcoin and trade in altcoins. This way, a person will earn more profits than having any one of these two potential coins.

Ethereum for me is worth it to invest because the price is cheaper than bitcoin and for sure it easy to double the rice , triple or become 10 times compared to bitcoin.
