Title: Do you follow trading advice from crypto influencers?
Post by: peter.from.penn on March 01, 2018, 05:37:41 PM
I think that the cryptocurrency market us unique, because many investors don't understand blockchain technology.  So they rely upon experts on YouTube, Twitter, and Telegram for information, analysis, and advice.  As a result, we have the phenomenon of crypto influencers.  Some are reputable, like Carter Thomas of Coin Mastery, but others are not.  What's your opinion on Crypto influencers?  Are they good for this market and the cryptocurrency movement?  Do you take advice from them?  And who's good to follow?

Its good to hear analysis from other people sometimes but self analysis and research is still best way to survive in this kind of ecosystem. We know in crypto world a lot of self proclaim experts emerge strong some are reputable but a lot are fakes and just creating hypes over crypto that they are into. So its better to have self analysis than following someones tactics.

My opinion on them is that it seems like a lot of them are misinformed or lack the knowledge of cryptos themselves. Imo they are awful for the market as they will cause many others to get whacked (maybe that is good for the winners), god no not in a million years, I would follow Jimmy Song and other reputable youtubers. There are a few people who are worth following but the list doesn't extend past two hands.

I'd rather believe and follow my own instincts rather than putting all my faith on a random 'McAfee's' prediction which just creates buzz for a few up and coming projects. Its hard to believe most investors blindly follow their advice without doing any further research about the coin/token in question. I'm just waiting for one of those 'went wrong' calls which everyone will follow like lambs to the slaughter and when they lose thier monies, only then will they realize to trust their own gut before believing in others' advice.

It's easy making money in a bull market. And all of a sudden we got many self claimed millionaires posting all over YouTube.

These people will be gone when the markets start to trade sideways or bearish.

I do not follow any advices, especially on those forums that you may find on almost every exchanger. I decide that my perfect strategy is to set a "dream price" and just hold till that. All those advices are simple speculation and I just do not have so much time a day to follow that.

It is always good to hear advice from other people and analyze their own market analysis before making a decision on which to invest or to trade. However, keep in mind that each trader has their own technique and ways on trading and investing. Making your own judgement, intellectual analysis and research, and experience will get you a good profit. I am not saying that other's people references are not reliable, however, sometimes people who are influential on crypto trading are just using their name to pump or make profit of their own analysis and coin announcement.

Agree, and other opinions could be biased. No matter how reputable and experience a person is, when it comes to the investment we better to use our own knowledge. But I'm sure most of the expert analysis is worth to consider as a comparison since it could give us a valuable insight. I mean is, just take the piece of advice that expert gives to make us to deeply more research and analysis the cryptocurrency.

Yes, I sometimes follow some advises from friends of mine who are pro in trading. I believe that those trusted people could help me grow and gain knowledge through trading. However, I still do some analysis most of the time. It is still better to make sure decisions before anything else. Assurance and our own decisions always matters in such situations. Better to use what we have learned from our experience after all.

Following and listening other people's advice is not wrong. But, you should have your own basis and standards and you should also make your own decisions when it comes to trading and investment. Remember that it's your money, and the profit or losses that you would incur with this decision is your to bear, so you should make your own decision. Experience will teach you a lot, and further research and studying about the market will enhance your skills on trading.

Well its okay to listen to their observation of of experts of what is the next thing that's gonna happen. Some of these people have really good point but some also are just playing around. That is why it is better to search and read a lot about coins to be familiar with different scenarios of crypto market. Sometimes you go with the flow, sometimes you do not. However, at the end of the day it is still you who will decide, learn to observe by yourself and analyze the market flow and try to read the graph.  It is your money after all, so that no one to be blame for the outcome.

I follow their advice in the past where i don't have knowledge about trading or where to invest my money. Now, i only follow them once in a while because i do investing or trading now on my own. I just follow my instinct and my own studies on my target altcoins.

I usually get some insights in trading on tradingview though I still make my own analyses and draw my own conclusions and I'm just merely getting up an idea on experts in the field. Though it isn't bad to get trading tips on other experts, still it's better to make your own conclusions and not rely heavily on other people's move so that you can trade depending purely on your knowledge without having the need to hesitate on your own conclusions. Right now I'm still getting information from other people and reading up some possible move on the market then I make my own analyses and trade depending on what I deem would be the most profitable move I can take.

in stocks, it's fine to follow the advice of a licensed professional. But, crypto isn't stocks and there are no certificates or degrees in crypto investing :P.

that said, there are some reliable ones that the crypto community has come to trust.

PBC is one such group, their recommendations always pan out in the end. There are some good TA analysts like cryptorand.

So I would just do research and see what someone's past calls are. See what the general community thinks about them.

I agree that advice from knowledgeable influencers can provide a starting point for deeper research.  And when it comes to research, I think that people need to understand blockchain technology.  There are many projects with use cases that are not realistic, and we need to be able to recognize them.

I leave advice from others almost a year a go, bad experience for me. My skill not increase and sometimes got loss make me think that I should learn and believe my own skill. Not blame or will other person to follow advice from another but not me. Basic knowledge from trading and investment never change but how people face the result is the main problems. Even I'm not expert but face real market and enjoy the journey make me comfortable.

What's your opinion on Crypto influencers?
I don't have anything against them, they are giving their opinions and everyone is entitled of doing it. They are mostly helpful for newbies who are starting and desiring to hop the crypto market.

Are they good for this market and the cryptocurrency movement?
Yes! It's on their tagline, influencers.

Do you take advice from them?
I am taking advises that I know will help me to grow and will be beneficial to my trading career.
And who's good to follow?
Actually there are too many of it, just check them on twitter.

There's no harm listening to the experts. However know your own  style and your portfolio and adjust accordingly. Simply following Carter and other experts do not develop your own trading skills. I still believe that experience, time, passion, resources and right emotions are the best teachers.

I don't follow every random crypto influencers or so called expert.  I try to make money out of FOMO whenever there is some announcement from developer team. Most of the other so called expert only try to create FOMO over the coin they are also holding or have just bought just like how McAfee created bull run in several coins few months back.

Well, Basically this is the first step of new traders and is good indeed, However most videos from YouTube and any other social medias are not 100% accurate, some of influencers are just saying a bit portion of what they know, to motivate new traders, for them not to be blame in the future. Furthermore, as a member to this forum I have seen that there are great managers who give advice on how to trade wisely. But The main answer here is experience.

My trading decision is not influenced by any source I relied on my trading strategy coupled with some fundamental news, whenever I sees a trading signal I pull the trigger with a stop loss  I usually took advice from crypto influencers but their advice are usually of divergent views to me most of the time setting in confusions.

For me, no. I don't follow then since they are most of the time paid or promised with something that is the reason they promote the ICO or cryptocurrency. Yes there are times that the crypto is good on paper, but really they are not backed up by good people or platforms. In the end, they just collapse and your investment gone.

Experts advice also a good way to gain more knowledge upon trading especially for those new in trading crypto, you can follow their advice but most of them are not accurate in predictions. And at the end of the day your self analysis will still be your final decision.

There are no crypto influencers left all simply buy the coin at and give some fake facts regarding it and make there followers pump it , see McAfee, charlie they don't do anything to the price it's just a pump and after a while the price falls

I don't relay on advice from the said called experts when making a trading decision but using them for information purpose. Bitcoin and altcoins trading is very risky and you should not keep you hope on the views of other.  I have been in this market for quite some time now and the reality is that trading is a decision one has to arrive by him or herself and if you did not no how to do this then don't risk your capital.

Since some of cryptocurrency market simply rely on media, influencers, supporters. Some social media influencers contributed also the trend particular if they have large audience. We welcome their opinion but we should not deeply rely on them, we have to do some research too. Cryptocurrency is about technical and economic aspects, learn their technology, products and services and their impact to the market demand.

I am also with learning about the market as much as possible and from any source. This will increase ones knowledge and broaden his angle of looking at things. I also believe that a person should just listen to the opinions of others but take the action according to his own free will. This is the actual way to grow one’s mind. Relying on other’s knowledge too much takes away the freedom of thinking in creative way. A trader should give priority to his intuitions.

If you are talking about the like of John McAfee as influencer because of his coin of the day then NO. What I do is just really read what's most of the analyst are saying and draw my own conclusion.

The problem is that most of us doesn't know that much about crypto trading and they indeed listen to influencers like they should invest in this or that, but at the end, if they lost their investment then there's no one to blame but yourself. Just gather information and try to filter out and see what you think is the best for me.

I think you could listen to them, but don't blindly follow them. A true investor should not follow other's people opinions, and should just stay with fundamental analysis about the project they are investing in. I won't deny these guys are good, but it's not because they understand crypto, but simply because they are well known, and have millions of followers, so what they say kind of becomes a self fulfilled prophecy.

For the long run, I would say stick to your one analysis. For the short term, these channels could actually be a good option, because there are a lot of guys that just follow them blindly, and if they are a lot, they will move the price a bit and might create a trend (almost like a pump and dump group).

everybody have their own capability and everybody have different set up.
that means we can not do the same thing like others people do,but we can learn something from them.
for me,crypto influencers are a mentor.
most of them were sharing an informative news about what is going on with it and what will happen with it.
just like what i say,he is a mentor but in the end i am the only one who will decide my own fate.
they are only giving us a tips about life or knowledge itself.

No, because I know how to do it personally. Though I also follow some news that I think can affect the market so I can exit every time the market is falling. Its hard to do it since the market is working non-stop so if you are planning to become a trader, better to depend only to yourself because its worth it compare to any hype advice.

I'm only listening to others opinion to know what is hype and what is not, hypes make more volatility and again every volatility is traders potential gain. I usually put hypes coins on the watchlist and makes my own T.A. if you got influenced by some traders advice your just participating in a pump and dumps without noticing it.

And if you believe then, don't fully gather the informations from all sides, and node it then reach from your belief you exactly can do that.

However, you must be sure that you are consulting the right person and that it is you who need to make the final decision and that you must think well before making any decision.

Well not really follow to the letter. It's best that you don't stick to a single source of information when you trade. Make yourself aware. Study these influencers' way of how they predict a trade would end up and at the same time do your own research.

Ya if you are expert or at least have experience then better you follow your own instincts and also ow analysis.
For us newbie, following expert and also including learning how to trade would be good. But if you are just following without why the decision is made, you are just crap.

I do also watch some video in youtube so see on how they are performing trading but im just take it as a lesson for my own trading skill.

that is good preparation before starting trading in cyptocurrency or forex. without good skills we could not gain profit from our trading.or maybe our money going loss.

If you did just invest for the sake on making money without knowing further on all the things involve on crypto then it wont really be a good thing. Why? if you do rely only on influencers words towards on such recommendations then you wont even know that you are already being manipulated because anytime those people will really tell things which would possibly only be a fud or basing with his own view or intuition. We do know that this is really very a unpredictable market that's why I don't really make a fan on listening anytime with their words.

There's a lot of crypto influencers who does a lot of shitpostings but I think they are also good at tradings.
I think secretsofcrypto and notsofast are two of the few who can give valuable insights about crypto.
Follow people who tells you to do your own research and not just accept what they say.

Depending on the credibility of the person. Some experts are able to advise with very insightful remarks and they can teach you lessons which you may use for future purposes, but it would be up to us what to do with the information that is given to us. No one can dictate or pinpoint how the market will perform no matter how many years of experience one has. I take into consideration what experts have to say but I do not totally rely on it.

of course not.I use my own strategy.especially follow various news from the announcement thread and latest events of the crypto world.I also don't understand the chart nicely.but I try to do small and regular trade.its all of my own strategies.
This is only our weapon on where theres no man would able to influence our decisions into a certain thing specially on doing trades.Influencers are always there not just only on crypto side but also into traditional forex and stock markets but not all the times those persons do have such impact into things that they do say.Sometimes we can get some idea but doesn't mean we should be dependent. We have our own trading style and analysis and we should stick on it.

you can follow their advice but never do as it is what they are saying because they also can manipulate the prices if everyone responding to them. And crypto prices are hard to predict so even the experts don't have anu idea so invest on your own risk rather than taking advice from others.

I dont really do that extensive research while making the trading and neither I follow anyone specifically. What I have done is just to make the research on coins market by taking the insights from the ANN thread, news update from the telegram groups and just keeping it straight while making the trades. Dont know why but whenever I am making any kind of trades and if any news is stuck in my mind just because of some youtuber then it could destroy my trade due to nausea about what that youtuber said. I mean dont know how to put it up front but sometimes it disturbs my trade. Its far better to do it on my own. Thats all about the personal choice and would love to have it on my own.

From my personal point of view, I would not believe in any referrals from Cryptocurrency investment professionals. If it was a real potential currency, no one would introduce us for free. They only give a little skepticism and misleading details. I have consulted a lot of advice from investors but I still can not trust anyone.
It is best for us to learn about the currency that we feel is potential. ;D

Looking the guidance from influencer very high recommendd as the first time because we are still in low knowledge.
But dont be wrong to look for the right person, many people say that they are expert and try to collect fee from you and dont believe them without searching first.

Better to use those advice as basis and still find time to do your own research, traders who can deal with the volatile market can be more successful
than to those who are just following tips, advice can be good if being use properly, it's their own opinion about certain points but the market still
relied with how the traders react, so knowing what you are doing before following some tips.

This means those predictions or words came from to those influencers are not accurate most of the time. They are just like the same on typical trader which do still speculate into possible price movements of a coin but doesnt mean they do have the power to say such price prediction which would result into profits anytime. They might give some exposure but not all the times that coin would react into such activity.

The issue is that during the crazy boom of the Q4 2017, you could of bought into any coin or any ICO and made money.

Hence there was many "Crypto trading gurus" who appeared on YouTube and became very popular because from time to time they made good calls.

But now most people are underwater and after the huge Bitconnect scandal many got burnt and the subscriber count and views went down and many no longer are making these videos.

Some crypto influencers are paid and you should always be cautious when following advice from them. Take for example John McAfee. He is reputable because he owns a company and a proud supporter of cryptocurrency but he always tweet about a coin and some people follow his advice and turns out to be pump and dump. There are rumors that he is paid but recently, he revealed that he is indeed paid and its not cheap! Check this article https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/3kjpyn/john-mcafee-100k-twitter-promote-cryptocurrency-paid

If you decide to follow a crypto influencer, it would be better if there is a supporting analysis to what he is claiming so that you can do your own research as well may it be a big news or a technical analysis.

I as a rule put buildups coins on the watchlist and makes my own particular T.A. on the off chance that you got impacted by a few merchants guidance your simply taking an interest in a pump and dumps without seeing it.

What! Do you really think that bounties will recover your losses anytime? They will get you in trouble with the time. Believe me I am trying them a lot but most of them give me crap all the time.

Also whatever you discussing here is little off the track from what OP wants to ask. The question is simple that whetehr we take help from any source or is there any source which is influencing us. But I couldn't resist myself on responding your bounty thing thats why I forced myself to mention my first line  :P

Bounty earnings arent still sure in the end of the sale because we wont know if it would be listed asap or not which will result into pending possible income or token earnings.Relying into bounties for loss recovery is senseless. Why do some people are too sure on what they are engaging to? but well they will sooner realized that the things they spoke arent really happening at all.

Its much better to make our own path without tending listening others words, fuds and shills.

No one can forecast anything unless maybe you are just lucky to have joined a group of whales that are holding the market strong and can decide to make it dwindle to wherever they want it. However, as a serious trader who is ready to make money, following other people to trade is just bullshit. You will always be safer when you learn and you know exactly what you are doing in the market.

Its good for crypto currency world that there are many experts who share their experience and knowledge to the investors especially to those new in crypto. But beware not all of them are legit and saying true or let us say just tricking other people so that they will get more benefit into it. Its better if you study their analysis and also make your own analysis.

Ive been following some of those in the recent months but nothing comes true, I guess its not my luck on the passed month, but i really believe that someday it will recover's. As of now, I don't believe to anybody. I'm focusing more on bounty campaigns to relieve my losses.
You know actually there is problem listening to such crypto influencers. Although they are your well-wishers and they want you to make some money as well as they are doing. But problem comes when you are just like a blank paper. You must be knowing the basic knowledge about bitcoins and how you will be earning form them. Just seek advices from experienced people but don’t just start implementing them.

The advice of crypto influencers is sometimes helpful, but I would suggest that no one should follow them blindly. Answering the question that whether you should hear the advice of crypto experts or not, there’s a 150% yes to it. It helps to know many new things happening in the market. But at the end of the day, you should research yourself to survive in this market.

I started watching YouTube videos, but after comparing the forecasts of these "gurus" with the current values of crypto currency, I first laughed and then completely abandoned the matter.
The truth is that there is nothing you can do without being able to do it on your own lol. Following some of these guys will only make you to lose even more. Because some reality imbalance, you can notice down, yes why they should advice you rather than they do trader for themselves ?

You should always be ready to learn yourself, know when to enter a market, no when to exit, know when to stop loss which are the things some of these guys will never tell you and the only thing they ever give you is an entry which a lot of people have fallen for and gotten screwed.

Yes.They can be some of your references especially if you're still a newbie. But along with that, you have to develop also your own  skill in trading and do a lot more of research about bitcoin and its crypto world so you can survive in this kind of business.Yes there may be a lot of speculations out there but in the end,you have to rely on your own self for your final decision.

Even if you do not follow their advice, you should always listen to the experts because they know about the very basics of the technology and have had their money invested in the business for long. Most often, an expert will be a person who has earned fortune in the business. In the end you should know better than an expert. Your strategies should be accordingly modified by keeping the business models of various companies and exchanges that are in the technology.

There are a lot of people who actually believe in the advice of the experts in this field so that they would not suffer any kind of loss in the future while adjusting their deals in the trade market .but this is not always a rule to have the desired profits earned at the very first attempt by following their instructions. The thing that mostly marks your success is your own ability to cope with the situation.

True,  these advises from the experts could only act as a guideline for us not to suffer what they have like loosing money,  failing to trade with a good profit and etc.  It is much better to develop a strategy of our own or from their advises.  There is nothing wrong listening to their advises for they are sharing for us to know the good things and bad things about trading.  A newbie trader has lots of questions in his mind and I'm sure that these advises could help by answering some of those questions.

But in some influence they create massive pump and eventualy a dump to hell when you bought in their ATH. So you better to do on your some research, it's okay to have influence by others but you can consider that you need a research by your own.

I'm thankful to these influencers, because they are real pioneers and are first to take responsibility for the decisions of many people on such a new market (yes, I mean many people don't think and just follow the influencers' patterns). Did you notice that during the bear market the majority of trading channels just kept silent? Nobody knows for sure, what to do!

You have for almost eveything influencers and they are called opinion leaders in marketing. And yes I think it is good in general to have those opinion leaders, because they animate consumers to buy things they probably would not buy without marketing. And the revenue brings tax payments to the state budget and they can spend it for the public and many people will benefit.

I actually follow some cryptocurrency influencers however I don't rely on their judgement on which coins they vie for instead I compare their coins to my own coins which I am holding and see if we are on the same page. If what they explain about a certain coin is somewhat the same as my understanding then I'd go for that coin and invest them or trade them.

These people are truly appreciated because they are of really great help for giving pieces of advice, they undoubtedly show concern and care for all of us to be successful in cryptocurrency. However, too much reliant from them can't help us grow, we should also do our part and be mindful of what needs to be done and those that really matter, to progressively attain our objectives in life. After all, we decide for ourselves and don't be anxious to do so. The result would examine our strengths and weaknesses and what we are capable and not capable of. It may be hard to stand with your own feet sometimes, but take a look at what influence it could bring to you.

Well, for me there's nothing wrong to take considerations on what crypto enthusiasts say because they can enlighten you on what the right thing to do. But remember, "too much is not always good" so do not whole heartedly depend on them. You should learn to trust your intuitions and make your own decisions. Read enough books and gather experience from personal experience, that's the best.

in stocks, it's fine to follow the advice of a licensed professional.

Cryptorand makes some great calls and there's much to learn from him - but as always, don't rely completely on others and DYOR

Most of the crypto influencers I see in twitter and youtube are either paid or just shilling the coins they bought so that they can have their profits sooner. There are times though when I can learn from them about some strategies but I don't immediately follow their advice and study the coin. Those influencers are a big help though in knowing what coins are trending at the moment so that I know what coins has a possibility of pumping in the next few days or even hours. Although there is already pre-pump, there is a possibility that it will be pump more.

I mostly go with my guts and sometimes I gather comments from bitcointalk and sift the ones I deem helpful out. Some of the crypto influencers get paid to post on behalf of some projects and that shields their candid views about the project sometimes. Researching about the coin is a big help too in deciding whether the coin is worth it to buy or not but sometimes all it takes is taking a look at the chart and see the movements of the candles. You will get familiarized with the movements. I am not at the point yet when I can recognize an accumulation of a whale but I really wanted to be at that point.

I will never follow their advice. Remember, all of them are sharks and we are just small fish. They can scam you to make a profit from the pump and dump.
Be careful with the advice and guesswork of the sharks. Those voices are worthless and I advise you not to believe it....
Yeah they give suggestions could be for their own benefit or just trick you, but not all traders give wrong suggestions, so don't directly follow their advice, you should verify the data / suggestions they provide and use your own calculations, use their advice only as a reference not to be followed directly..

Here's how I see it:

most of ''Crypto-twitter'' is doing a good job at providing good quality info and calling out people who spew bullshit - it's also a breeding ground for ''send me ethereum to get more back'' scams and I hope nobody is stupid enough to fall for these

reddit got flooded with memes and I think that it literally serves just to keep the dumb money in the game. Most of the people who join the crypto space do so at times when there's a lot of hype around it, like last december/january - all of those people were thought to ''just hodl'' and I fell for that at first too - then I thought about it. why? Because there's people out there who want to capitulate on your lack of trading knowledge - those people buy at ATH and hold all-throughout drops after drops until they've lost about 80% of their portfolio - and eventually weak hands are going to give in, or at least the majority of them. So what do smart people get from this? A bunch of dumb money influx who are ready to buy coins at prices that are well overpriced - until they sooner or later give up and sell them back to those same people at a 5x smaller prize. Rinse and repeat.

Nothing beats knowledge and understanding of the markets

Of course I am following the advice of them they are analyzing it for a living. They are successful in this thing so they are sharing the things they have been through. But of course not all of it are applicable to everyone most of them are opportunities that are given to them by a luck and not all of us can be given that thing but still most of their advices are helping me in to my quest to become a successful trader. I hope you are gollwing them too all of them are worth to follow just know the good and a bad thing.

If user is a newbie in this trading world. Relying to one of the best influencer in crypto will be good for them. At first they dont enough knowledge to do own analysis, so watching in a proffesional tutorial is will build own techniques time for time. Doing this for long will make you knowledgeable can do it even no help from the other

Sure. For me, keeping track of some of the world's most famous merchants for the crypto market is a must. Because they have the vision, knowledge of crypto and they have the ability to analyze the market is very effective and reasonable. I always listen to their opinions and advice as a priority in the market. @Dony Crypto and @Crypto Yoda are 2 of the people I respect and love their ideas.

Keep track of some of the world's most famous merchants in the crypto market, those influencers are a big help though in knowing what coins are trending at the moment so that you know what coins has a possibility of pumping in the next few days  or even hours. Although there is already pre-pump, there is a possibility that it will be pump more,  BUT make  your own judgement, intellectual analysis and research, and experience will get you a good profit. I am not saying that other's people references are not reliable, however, sometimes people who are influential on crypto trading are just using their name to pump or make profit of their own analysis and coin announcement.  Best of all is follow your intuition,  you have still the last say on this matter because obviously it's you money.

I think it is better to read some advice from the experts. They give you tips on what to do and what not to do. But in the end, it is still you who can make the best judgement. It is all up to you if you follow them or not. The most important thing I think is you do your best and keep track of how you money went.

What cryptocurrency influencers and experts says most time do come to pass, so now I am seeing them as cryptocurrency prophet. I believe what they say and dance to their tone of music. Some times I wonder where they get this information from. Since January an influencer predicted that the market will be good by April and we all see what happen in April.

I don't think it is the right thing to do that , It is not healthy for the market to get played by some famous abuser , I have unfollowed all of those guys from my twitter and I hope everyone else does that , They take their power by the people , If we united they wouldn't have any follower to affect on the market .
I'd rather to follow my mind and lean on myself , yeah I see videos from youtubers only to increase knowledge not to follow blindly whatever they say .

We always should keep in mind that they can pursue their own interests and now it can be buying BTC for as low as possible.
I can say that in 2018 all these assertments doesn't bother anyone. Even Consensus that was overall positive, couldn't affect the situation. We now need more than bare predictions

When I had just joined this world, I used to look up to the influencers across social media - Twitter, Facebook, Telegram. I had also subscribed to tens of crypto blogs and people like Ian which were known to give good signals and trading advice.
Once I matured a bit in this market, I slowly stopped referring to them since majority of things are controlled by whales and these influences do not stand a chance there.
My suggestion to every newcomer out there would be to follow these channels initially when they are in the learning phase and once they understand the market well, they should move away from these sources to their own intuition.

This is a great way to go about it in my opinion - use other people's ideas only to confirm your own ideas. Never completely rely on anybody in this space.

All crypto influencers have a hidden agenda. Nobody shills a coin or a trade without being personally invested in it. I always take their advice with a grain of salt and always do my own research before taking it seriously or acting upon it. That being said, their shills usually make the price go up, so you can make some quick buck if you act upon their advice sooner than others. If you already see a big green dildo by the time you hear about it, it's already too late.

Definitely you should still have your own techniques and strategies. Formulate your own style and learn from crypto influencers in their experiences. Your own experiences will teach you more than those advices of the influencers but you still needed their suggestions and advises for your reference especially when you are new to the world of trading.

Preferred this thing all the time where i dont really trust up any advice in the internet if i do then i would always try to research to have back up analysis if those things being proclaimed is possible. If it does then i might followed it up but depending on case to case basis. Self analysis would always be ideal because if you do make mistakes you wont really too much on regret and easily moved on but if you do base on others analysis and you failed up then you might even more stressed out yourself.

At first, I follow advice from famous crypto influencers but after learning that not all of their advice is not the correct one to take. The case is that, they state a lot of advice on their social media accounts telling people about their point of view on the current state of cryptocurrencies in the market and there will be a 50-50% chance that some of their predictions will come true. They just have a better technical analysis on the cryptos than us so I just take their advice as an idea and I do my own research.

Yes.Following their advices may give us somehow an assistance too but in the end whether you are a newbie or a legend here, you still end up following your own decision from your series of studies and experiences. After all, when we lose it doesn't really matter because that is a part of trading but what's more important is the experience we gained that could somehow be our best teacher too.

A blind follow will always embrace you with a lose. Do not follow any advice blindly as you maybe caught in a scam advice. I am also investing after getting any signal but I am not a blind follower as whenever I get any signal I start to search about the coin and project for which I get the signal and I spend time to see that why the adviser gave me the signal and what a good point is going to happen in the market with which I will have to invest. That is a point which you have to do for investing in any coin/asset.

I’m sorry that I don’t follow advice coming from the influencers because the market right now is so unpredictable. Not only that, it has high volatility as well. For me, the only thing that I am trusting right now is my own instincts when it comes to #HODL or #SODL. Just my two satoshis.

thats right. their strategy might be working for them but may not work on you,  thats why it is much better to do your own moves . Doing your own move is also better than depending on others because you cant blame anyone if ever you did loose but aside from loosing you can also gain experience that will surely improve your skills latter on the game.

In my case i did not follow every advice (whether it is from trading , investing , or anything inside and outside the crypro scene ) but i did only read them so that i can be familliar with other terms and words that can greatly enhance my knowledge as a person.

Following the trading advice by crypto influencers exposes you to a lot of trouble. The logical thing you might do is to only make it a basis for your initial strategy but never make those advices as your main factors for decision on trading. The danger on that influencer is we don’t know who is really saying the truth and not so it’s better to trust your own analysis.

crypto influencers may nt be right every time we cant completely rely on these crypto guru we can see how the market got dumped so no one can say where it goes in coming days

And they're not even a geek and with what they said are all pure speculations so nothing will be certain in everything they've said. Some use their advice to be their guide and they know the fact it have risk but then again they put their trust on it. Though with this world money runs everything, some of these experts are being paid to make advices so they can help to spread fuds so the commotion will start in the community. So for me nothing will beat to do our own research, though it's hard at first but eventually it will be worthy.

I'm leaving adivces from other experts about a year ago, that was bad experience for me and my money. My skill don't increased by that, and sometimes I've got loss on that
A blind follow will always embrace you with a lose.

Well you have to consider that most of these people aren't doing it for charity. There must be something in it for them right? Probably to pump a coin or something who knows. Better to take them in and analyze where they're coming from to arrive at that end decision. I agree that blindly following these predictions would more.often than not leave you in a loss or you'd have to hold for a very long time

But some times between crypto influencer  explained  the project in different way,  other  say that good but other said that not good project. And finally I make decision by self.

I sometimes do watch tutorials on youtube and I can say that it is worth. It helped me a lot because when I came into a rough situation, I know how to deal with it because I watched it on a video. These influencers are experts so we can rely on what they are saying and they have experienced many things before they become an expert. I just make sure that I just do not follow, I make sure that I know what I am doing and sometimes I also rely on myself because it makes me better than just following.

I will not follow them. Because I have different analysis experience than them. I have people who always invest in good news. I do not believe in that.
I will invest based on the market trend. I spend 3 hours a day researching Shark's strategies. By spending more time analyzing and trusting myself, I have never made a mistake in investing and trading everyday.

Thats inevitable thing to happen once you were casually trading for quite some time already. Specially when you think a certain idea or strategy doesnt work for you since youve been through it before. It's still better to follow your own, based on what you have experienced. Influencers is good when you start to get trading activities, they can be a good guide along the way.

You would be surprised to hear that crypto influencers are no better than an average crypto trader. Give Ian Balina a bitcoin chart and let him dissect it and do technical analysis. Let me tell you...it would be hilarious.

These guys are ordinary marketers with easy-to-follow and catchy presentations...that's how they got their huge following. You think Tai Lopez knows crypto lol? Yet, he's everywhere presenting himself as an expert. Most twitter influences you follows only publish their winning trades and people think these guys never lose...you would be surprised!

I personally know many expert traders and let me tell ya, these guys are nothing like the guys you follow on twitter or youtube. So my advice to you is to learn technical analysis, go out there lose some money, learn from mistakes and become a real trader. Don't listen to anyone else.

Seeking advise from influencers can help us to be guided and get an idea of what needs to be properly done or not. Considering that they are more experienced and learned they can be the people to be considered, however they too started as newbies and faced troubles with their journey to success. I believe that we can greatly help ourselves more than others, it has to be us to experience the sacrifice, and all the research and study just to be a wise trader. Sometimes, we need to learn from our own, from other people and grow productively.

Absolutely! Not all strategies that work for others may be effective for us, so it's still very important to be attentive, let experience and knowledge guide us and stick to what strategies work best for us. The pieces of advise we get from influencers can be our platform to be more knowledgeable and become an expert in the future. But I believe that more than reliance from others, we need to rely on ourselves more, to work hard for our goals, because only us can help ourselves when nobody is around.

Not all their pieces of advice can be shared to us in just a single setting, or all time and not all of their experiences will be disclosed .At the same time we cannot tell how would it work if we don't try it ourselves, if we don't challenge ourselves. Definitely! Every little and big person we meet can have an impact in our lives. Trading is risky that's why we need someone to guide and help us like an expert or influencers as they are more well-versed. On the other hand, I believe that we need to trust ourselves first and do our part without depending much on others. I can follow their trading advise but I have to follow my will as well to study on my own, do research, familiarize, and be committed. I have to learn to stand up on my own and learn from failures inorder to grow and be more responsible.

Being in the industry for so long, I believe that they are already seasoned in the field of cryptocurrency, but I don't think that they never experienced failures in their lifetime before becoming an influencer or expert. I can follow the advice they give, and be grateful because I believe learning is sharing and it connects people. Self research is also important and sometimes the ground realities seem different from what they say on the internet so you really have to touch each and every area.

Of course I do, since I can't be good at trading from the start and I also know some people that are good at that thing already so why won't I use my connections to help me to gain knowledge about trading? It is a good thing that we ask for advice because they might also have some techniques in trading that are very helpful. More than trading, there are some other things that I can learn from them so I take their words very seriously.

It really helpful tips some advices which was shared by our fellow traders here in trading discussion which it gives me and other people a proper guidelines in a step by step process by avoiding misplacing and wrong sending of coins which was commonly mistaken by newbie traders.
This forum is all about telling others what to do right and how to do it. It found me so amazing to see people helping others because in this time, no one is agree to help someone and no one is able to share what is good for others as well. But this forum have totally a different sense and people are getting their answers for queries and that is amazing part of this forum. Good luck.

Remember only that you need to criticize which of them is the best to follow and it really helps you to excel in trading and not to be broke.

And who's good to follow?

those people who dont understand blockchain tech and crypto they only comes for quick money . as you said they trust others for their own investment , most of times they fall in trap with scam icos or phishing link of giveaways . many youtubers even can do promote shit project like a gem .

few youtubers are there who only shills good icos liek suppoman , ian balina . however we should not trust them too blindly . i do follow these and many other influencers . they also give short term calls for trading also ico reviews . but at the same it is necessary to do our own research too .
I will not name but there is popular twitter celeb who few times promoted icos which has no past and future and many people invested in it . i dont know he id it for money or he also failed to understand the project . so we should always do research properly our-self .

Initially, it is necessary to study the market and all major actors in the crypto-currency market. If you study all the information, you can know the names of not only an authoritative professional, but also identify a fraudster in the future. The fact is that with the help of social networks you can receive information Not only truthful, but also receive bad information from the same scammers.

Over the time of trading you are most likely to get the idea already without the help of any experts but you might still want their information because tomorrow is not the same day as yesterday. There is always a room for improvement to help your analysis to become successful in trading over time and while you are trading everyday it is just like you are training to become a master in trading.

I personally don’t listen to any trading advice, I can do it on my own, basic things will be fine for trading.

It is always good to hear analysis from some influencers as it is a form of education. Listening to these influencers helps you to know knew things in crypto and you get the chance to read about them and increase your knowledge in crypto. However, you shouldn't always depend fully on influencers as the crypto market can change anything. Influencers in crypto should just be your guide but you shouldn't depend on them fully.

Uuhm… that depends on what kind of advice you’re giving, but I will still make some research myself. Another thing I will like to say is that I’m not the type of person that follows the crowd, I prefer to do myself or go with a few people and it normally works out for me.

So if one of these big influencers should say something about Bitcoin, maybe that price will fall, I will be at alert and watch the market closely to know the next action… if it goes down, I will withdraw my money and invest it back when it drops to a lower rate and starts returning back up.

I am not exactly following crypto influencers because, you know, everybody says what is beneficial for them and you never know whose words are real and who just wants to speculate on the market, draw your attention and make you do what they want, which is obviously profitable for them. So, we should be very careful when following these influencers' advice.
Anyway, I am sure that we should listen to the statements they make, in order to analyze and consider the value of this information. That will allow us to understand why the market is behaving that way or another and, consequently, make right trading decisions for ourselves.

Of course! The trading influencers or any other person on the face of earth is not going to take responsibility for the mistakes you make in the field of trading. Everyone is here to give you just few pieces of advices, rest is up to you. As you said, if you bear a financial loss, no one is going to share their profit with you. So in short, you should listen to everyone but do what you think is right for you.

It may be a mistake but I don't.. I think anyone could find good projects to invest in with a simple spreadsheet/grading system.... the flaw in my logic is that other people do and some of these influencers whether talented or not, can have self-fulfilling prophecies based off of enough people thinking it will work.  Hype is a very real thing in 2018 and influences play a big role in that.. The 100x gains though are becoming way less common and people just "wait til binance" then dump the second its announced.  The bear market is compounding the problem since money is just moving around and not really growing anywhere.

Just some key points if you aren't clear about these people:

The coins they are shilling is an advisory role free bag, they get paid to pretty much shill you their coins.
They make money from youtube to give you content of getting paid to shill you free coins.
They use you believing they are experts as a way to get others and you to buy into the hype to pump their own bags, so they get paid more to get paid by youtube to get paid with free coins to shill you their opinion.

Whether or not this matters to you, just let that sink in..I  think its pretty joke-like.

Those influencers are the mostly to earn because they have many followers that this folks can buy a coin without really making attention why it was been told to buy or to hold. Following any advice or coin picks by these big social media people can be either good or bad it depends on your outcome.

I think even the crypto influencers are also doing just to create hype for a token or coin & they are usually paid for this by the ICO team. Even if the token doesn't have up to mark a good product but the result of its ICO is positive because some people don't have enough knowledge about crypto investments and they follow influencers and it benefits both the ICO and also the investors as more & more people will try to get that token. So somehow its good to follow influencers because they can create awareness of that token. And same is with trading they give signals about a coin and people will rush to get that coin.

It's easy making money in a bull market. And all of a sudden we got many self claimed millionaires posting all over YouTube.

These people will be gone when the markets start to trade sideways or bearish.
Unfortunately a lot of people believed to that "experts" and bought a lot of shitcoins that they promoted. Of course now they are pissed off and we can see a lot of topics here like " I spend all my money to " any shitcoin" and now price go down to 90%. What should I do?" or " I lost all my money cause I bought "shitcoin" because "no name youtube channel" said that he gave x10 easily". Maybe this people invested for the first time but that was really insane how all people believed in december 2017 that crypto just going up and BTC will be 100 000 in 2018.
This is tough but I hope useful experience for a lot of people. Maybe after that they will use their own head to research.

I never listen to other people and experts, I have been burned many times, there are people who allegedly sell signals, participation in their telegram chat is$ 500, I had listened to them before and invested in coins that they advised, but in the end I went to the big minus. and life taught me to trust only myself.

I am always checking the coins that is recommended by those crypto influencers but I don't immediately buy it because I have my own strategy of when to buy a coin and when to sell it. I am more of a short term trader so I have a reference of what coin is trending at the moment so that I would have an opportunity to maybe scalp if I can see a buying opportunity. I am looking for a coin with more volume and if a crypto influencer is recommeding that coin then surely the volume would surge on that coin and a good opportunity to trade but I don't buy the coin when it is high but I wait for a correction.

There are good advice like you should focus on trading or build your own mining rig in order to earn more profit but the market is volatile so you will never know when you are going to earn profit so every time you are investing, make sure that you will be holding the coin for a very long time because there is a chance that the coin you are holding will go dump.

I dont, if you start following advice o signals you wont learn from yourself  and just rely on them all the time..  My simple guideline on trading is buy low sell high or buy and hold.. For me trading is unpredictable so far im gaining more than losing when i do my own strat.

I am more principled to trade the cryptocurrency itself, because on the basis of its Cryptocurrency it is not set by a particular group or party.

so they are like John McAfee etc. can not predict its ups and downs Bitcoin, I am more grateful with today's income from trading Bitcoin than greedily following info from others.

I also think that listening to such influencers isn’t a bad idea. You can grasp many helpful pieces of advice, know their experience and mistakes that should not be repeated. Also, it is possible to learn something new from such people. So, why not?

Yup watching some experts strategies in youtube will help us to improve our skill set but if you follow the same strategy i promise it will never work. you just pick some info and make your own strategy. I personally not follow 3rd person strategy i do my own research before investing in any coin.

Not much like Warren Buffett drives some investors crazy here in crypto world from his words. People can listen to such speculators, but do not take literal action for it. The volatility of the market is so mysterious that even its value isn't fully realized yet. There is so much possibilities on where it might stabilize, that's why people aren't sure when to sell. They tend to hear out from arguments made by different people in the media, and either take literal or logical action for it.

- Of course, they will also have some useful knowledge and sharing, which is something we should learn from them but we should not completely trust and follow their advice because in this world, people always have mutual deceit to gain benefits, can not trust anyone, especially in the field of investment. The crypto influencers may be the ones that are hired by the whales and investors, they can entice us to fall into the trap, we should be wary of them, investment is the story of the individual, not of others

I am listening to influencers as they are well informed, travelling to conferences and some of them playing key roles in crypto industry. You have to make a good selection out of many  so called influencers and find the trusted ones.
It is good to listen to them, but  action decisions should  be independent as the only person who cares and is responsible for Your investment is only YOU.

Those people will surely have an impact and influence the cryptocurrency world. However, I think we should only consult their comments and reviews because they also have certain knowledge. Nowadays, there are many who claim to be crypto experts, they set up groups on telegrams and presented analyzes that perhaps not everyone understands. Sometimes, experts analyze in different directions and come to different conclusions that make investors really confused and do not know who to follow. We should just consult, make our own decisions to not regret

Lol crypto influencers like who and who? Do you mean those that manipulate the price?😄😄 Just kidding. But it’s good to follow these crypto influencers, because they usually know what’s happening in the cryptocurrency community. They can even be part of the whales that control the price of Bitcoin, so they can predict when the price will go up. But talking of predicting the accurate price, that’s not possible.

No one can accurately predict the market so depending on them for investment advice may not be the best decision. To me I suggest one do his own research before investing in any coin.    I see this situation in this way, now there are a lot of projects, and all of them are aimed at improving services, it's cool, but it seems to me that everyone has forgotten about the security of our data, but the block is well protected, but now. I read an article about quantum processors, they are already talking about the possibility of hacking, and what will happen after they become public, and the technology will improve. I began to look, and found an interesting project that is immediately ready to solve the problem of not only quantum protection, but also improve the speed of the entire system as a whole. With the coming quantum technologies, the current market must experience many changes. To be more exact, many coins will leave the market, as there will simply be no demand for them, due to the same technological superiority. Without certain experience, Trading and Hodling are risky. The most acceptable method of investing at the moment is ICO. For a more successful contribution, you need to carefully analyze the project. Identify is necessary for the market side. For example, the Kelvin Blockchain project has an innovative method of encryption, transmission, storage, and security. All this is based on quantum computing. Thus becoming in demand in the future.
Kelvin Blockchain (https://medium.com/@kelvinchain/the-post-quantum-era-of-blockchain-todays-solutions-for-the-world-of-tomorrow-16bdd970f49a) project itself is flexible to implementing cryptographic algorithms which will make it one of the safest blockchains ever existed with 10+ signature available from the start. This project does not rely on any particular signature algorithm and due to the multi-client use - on some single consensus. In case of any problems, it is possible to quickly locate the threat and prevent it’s distribution throughout the system. Multiple blockchains with different consensus algorithms, token types, and assignments will be available. The multichain technology allows creating almost an unlimited potential for speed and productivity. Kelvin Blockchain can launch up to 2^64 subchains - more available subchains will benefit in increased speed and security. Moreover, all the blockchains will be processed in one wallet so that the client could have fast transactions, secure investments and cheap smart contracts as well as a lot of other services at his hand.

Yes, with their predictions and advice we don't know how they do it their whole content of making it based on their fundamental and technicals. In any time they can change it because crypto is to volatile which is very hard thing to say in long term especially if you are a swing or scalp trader. You can treat it as your learning and guide but don't fully rely into it even that person is very good on advice.

- Of course, never believe in anyone, even if they are very famous and have very good analysis in this area because this market is a war between traders, people will not share too much information or what they know about the market in the coming period, that only affects the profit, even ruining their calculations. And so, the advice and knowledge of celebrities and experts, we should only consider it as another view of the problem, if we analyze and feel what they share will be good, we can try but only a little, vigilance is still needed

Yes, if you are not new in this forum, then definitely you know who tells you good advise here and who not to follow because they just spread fear and panic here. However, as you go along and gain experiences, I'm sure that you can make your own decision and not just rely on those so-called experts. Its better if you learn by yourself at least you have no one to blame in case something went wrong and they you can also learn from it and not repeat the same mistakes again.
