Hey dudes hope you are well. I sell a lot of things on Craigslist. I am now planning on putting a couple things up and saying I accept btc or eth along with the greenback. Wondering if you guys have tried this. I

It's a very good idea to buy goods online, and it will make it easier for those who want to buy your goods using good bitcoin, eth or other coins.

Thats not a new concept since many are already doing that on facebook. But it is also good that there are people like you who patronize this kind of trade. If there are more people like you do who will accept bitcoin and ethereum then probably we can move closer to the real goal of bitcoin to be a medium of exchange in buying goods and services both online and offline.

Yes, Craig's list does have a crypto option so it's not new, just new for me. I'd like to do btc but due to the transaction time I don't think it would be practical for btc which is a shame. Craig's list sales are usually face to face transactions

Its nice to know that you were eager on promoting crypto on your online business,since not all people knows about bitcoin but once people get interested on the things you sell online most probably they will ask you about cryptocurrency like bitcoin and how does this work to be a mode of payment..its like you are promoting your things online and at the same time you are introducing bitcoin and other crytocurrencies as well.Possibilities would be its another way of an introductory overview on cryptocurrencies to everyone whose always in front of their computer,laptops and phones..those internet users that give almost all their time but never profit at all.

I don't think there will be too many takers out there to purchase smaller priced items with Bitcoin or Ethereum, but if there is an option to widen the number of cryptocurrencies you accept, then it could work. Not sure on Craigslist, but on personal websites, you can set up payment options with a number of different crypto options. Fair play for giving it a go though, maybe your kid's bike could be worth a few thousand in a couple of years if you sell it for Bitcoin now.

It is going to be good if you place a different item for sale, most of the users are kept asking can we purchase products or items by using bitcoin. Yes, you can start but check with your government because while shipping they will identify you.

I guess, but if I managed to sell anything for Bitcoin currently, I would not then be buying anything with it, I would hold it for the foreseeable future. That is the main issue really, even when purchases are made with Bitcoin, that Bitcoin is generally not used to buy something else. It won't work as a currency until it freely circulates, and I just don't think enough people would spend it. If someone did buy from you using Bitcoin, can you honestly tell me that you would then use that Bitcoin to buy something yourself? I doubt it, and I know for sure I wouldn't.

Hi. Selling items online for bitcoin or any other crypto is okay. You need to have also means on how to get funds for your bitcoin.

if you are really interested in e-commerce and using bitcoin as the payment option then i am sure you will find OpenBazaar[1] very interesting. and it would be cryptocurrency-focused so you don't worry about not having any takers. it is open source, free with no fees, decentralized. it will require you to study it first and learn how things work but it is worth checking out.

We do actually have a section here on the forum where you can buy and sell stuffs online, and have BTC as a mode of Payment. Check out the "Marketplace" section of the forum. If you're planning to make a business out of it, I'd say make BTCs just an option for now, and use digital currencies as a mode of payment primarily. Not all would be open to pay you in BTC, but if you just include it as an option, others would have the freedom to choose (Of course, BTC payments would be better since it'll be like an automatic investment).

If you plan to sell those bitcoins back immediately after you receive them for items sold then i will advice you not to start at all because you will run at a loss looking at the current instability of bitcoin but if you plan to save the bitcoins received (which i doubt because it will hoard down your business capital) then you stand a chance of making profits in the future.

Personally no. Although it is something I would love to introduce just basically out of my own live for crypto however there still isn't enough demand. I'm not really sure who has to take the initiative in this situation, do vendors have to list in crypto for the customers to come or do the customers need to lobby vendors into accepting crypto. The question is, whether your online shopping site can be sold in a global market or just support the local trading market only? some great sites before you have implemented this kind of thing, but the obstacles faced from the high transaction costs and ultimately the site is not popular around the world.

This is a great idea if you want to start your bitcoin journey. This kind of start in bitcoin is a unique but a pretty much effective one. But the only problem is, bitcoin is only accepted by a group of people who discovered it and accepted it as a currency. It is through a very good idea but still it is not the right time to do so as you first need to wait for the time when the usage of bitcoin in the international market will be this much common that you can get this opportunity of selling our buying of your coins by giving away your bitcoins or any other crypto coins. Once things get better, you can then go for trying such kind of thing and will surely get profit as well.

It's up to him if he want to continue his idea about having some extra income here in crypto currencies, everything here is possible and those kind of idea is not new at all. But expect a lot of factor that may putting you in a unexpected situation, just for example is scammer, transaction fee, delivery fee and many more. Well there is no problem in the acceptance of the bitcoin on the international level, also the use of the bitcoin is growing day by day so if someone wants to start some store which will be accepting bitcoin than let’s encourage him and try to accommodate him in the initial phases. Ha no not shot I guess my finger slipped while typing. I'm not trying to sell anything here I'm not posting any goods I'd just like to see crypto be used more. I posted the items online in my area sold a number of them but all for fiat no one commented or questioned my notation of accepting crypto

Indeed it is their own choice to use bitcoin and how they want to use it, market of bitcoin is high so you have multi choice about it, if you have hopeful that bitcoin will give you profit you can involve it but I think at the time of fall will the best time to start bitcoin business, we can sell a lot of items using bitcoin in market people are accepting bitcoin for everything like they sell electrical object and they sell a lot of other item like we need for daily housing, so get your chance be strong to achieve your goal of life.

It is very good idea to have a small business online that will accept bitcoin as mode of payment. Since we are now on the modern era it is better for us to practise how to use the modern way of payment. As far as I know, in our country we don't have that kind of store so I hope that someday there will be a business like that since it is very convenient.

Already our forum has different section for buying things with bitcoin but it is necessary to use escrows while doing transaction because lot of scammers are there.
Or if you want to create a shop or something in your locale it will help the people to know about bitcoin.

i think you also can used this forum to buy or sell your stuff into bitcoin. but the only problem that might every buyer faced is its shipping. how long it takes till they received it or even they will never received it. maybe its fine if your buyer in the same country.

I have to say this:  One of the first things I did upon registering at bitcointalk was to try to sell some old Nintendo games--and NO ONE was interested.  These were decent games, albeit old ones.  And from watching the marketplace section here, it became clear to me that people who are into bitcoin tend to not want to spend it, and I really don't blame them.  If they'd spent what I was asking on my video games in 2015, they would have lost out on huge profits. 

I don't know about other sites, but it's difficult to sell things for bitcoin here.  My impression is that unless it's the dark market, where you want anonymity, there's no reason to spend bitcoin on something you could pay for with fiat.  People are generally unwilling to do that, and I've commented in other threads about this over the years.  Bitcoin is a much better asset than a real currency.  You've got fraud protection on your debit cards, you don't have to pay fees when you spend fiat, there's no long confirmation times, etc.  So unless you really need to prevent people from knowing what you're buying, it's not easy to sell things for bitcoin. 

Take a look at all the items TheButterZone has tried to sell and can't.  All those stamps and things.  He keeps bumping threads from quite a while ago, and I think he's having a hard time selling some of the stuff.  It would be interesting to see what he has to say about this.

I think this is a great idea. It doesn't only make you earn BTC but also it makes you promote BTC using your business. We need more establishments adapting Bitcoin so that people can experience its benefits and make it progress.

If you are dealing with a person offline, then it is very doable. But, if you want to ship it to a person outside your local area, you should perhaps look our for an escrow.
An escrow can act as a guarantor which can make both the parties feel secure.
Speaking from my personal experience, I have sold multiple items using BTC on my local portals (OLX and Quikr). The only difference was that I didn't sell BTC in market back then and ended up losing half of the value.
So, I would still prefer to use the FIAT currencies if I am not selling something shady.

Accepting cryptocurrencies for selling goods online on Craigslist or similar platforms is good enough as long as the buyer is ready to pay in one of the cryptos you are ready to accept. This is much safer compared to PayPal as there are no possibilities of chargebacks or any similarities. Alternatively, eBay and its rivals should start accepting cryptocurrency as a definite payment processor which will only improve their overall website usage.

It is a good idea if bitcoin or cyptocurrency will be allowed to use items on selling online, but theres another options we can use bitcoin for selling items online.

That idea is already been implemented and there were now lots of online merchants and business that partners with bitcoin and other cryptos like ripple , eth , bch , etc to be used on online transactions such as buying and selling .

You do not lose anything by trying it out but since the adoption of bitcoin is low you will need to accept other forms of payment or you are not going to get a lot of offers, however it is possible that you get a lot of bitcoin users if you are selling stuff related to bitcoin in some way like some shirts with bitcoin logos and similar stuff like that.

I myself have not tried it yet in my country now many online sellers are starting to receive payments through btc and that's a nice break and the popularity of bitcoin and its kind will keep on increasing, so there's no harm to you to try it.

Actually it's a good idea but the level of security and trust like that can be well preserved, because many things happen in online sales is a disappointment in the form of goods or there are fooled. if I strongly agree and will try to buy via online with the payment of bitcoin, and all that to strengthen the community crypto solideritas or fellow bitcoin users.

Yeah this is the problem. Bitcoin price is volatile and you cannot fix a price, but if you do not think of the price in dollars or any other currency then this problem will be solved. It is good idea though but I suggest you do need change your price that varies the price changes of crypto or bitcoun in order for you to earn something. Because probably once you stick your price even though the price drops you won't earn something good and the worst is you will face profit loss. That's a very good idea because it can strengthen the bitcoin community because it must be bitcoin users, in my opinion should create an online application for bitcoin users to be able to sell or buy other transactions. and otherwise can communicate and provide other information in the application other than buying and selling online.

I have not tried that but I do not see why it should will not work, just a reminder, bitcoin is not really popular right now so I hope that you accept other forms of payment besides bitcoin because if you do not then it's likely that your products are going to stay unsold for a lot of time, if you accept cash, credit cards, paypal and bitcoin it is likely that a lot of time is going to pass before you sell something for bitcoin.

I think for bitcoin its has been accepted as payment in the amazon.com, but not sure of it just a thought because amazon is selling nano wallet, and Asic miner or antminer if I'm not mistaken, then in some online they accept ethereum, Xrp, Bch and Ltc. Would be good for centralized marketplace, however it's bad to buy or sell items on peer-to-peer marketplace because it will take a longer time to do bitcoin transactions, but for other crypto I think there is no problem. Crypto marketplace in my opinion can help adoption much as people will need products everyday especially food.

  This is best place to sell or to buy goods we want in our life we can buy anything with it bitcoin but I think it depends on the place your live as if you are living in a place where cryptocurrency is allow to use so government will not put any tax then we can buy or sell anything, I like to open a shop for online selling of clothes I think it will be profitable business.

I haven't bought things online with BTC yet, but I will look into trying this features if definitely there will be a platform where this activities can take place and secondly have a good security and as well as a 24/7 customer service.

There is simple solution for this. Im in E-commerce for several years now and I can say that anyone can do this in simple terms. Prestashop as E-Commerce platform offers this option. Selling items for bitcoin. It have integrated module for this, also simple set up with receiving address and simple is to work. Off course only for setting basic shop and adding items for additional task need to hire some developer and this is quite cheap for some small amount per hour.

I haven't tried it but I think it's a good idea, accept BTC and ETH as a payment tool, even though the value isn't too big

I suggest you sell basic needs, or at least those that are often used by the community, and again add payment options, not only Bitcoin or ETH, maybe you can add XRP or Litecoin
