Title: What exchanges will survive?
Post by: cheefbuza on March 11, 2018, 07:31:19 PM
For some reason, I have my faith on Bittrex.
But everyone is talking about coins and ICOs but I tend to believe most of the exchanges will be closed soon.
An exchange is a hell of a thing.

Big centralized exchanges that only offer crypto to crypto will eventually die. There just isn't a need to trust anyone in crypto and people will come to realize that very soon with all the DEXs coming out. One of them will do it right, advertise enough to get people in, generate hype and good to go.

We'll need the fiat to crypto exchanges because it's a way for new people to get in and is highly regulated, and we'll need DEXs. Polo, binance, bittrex, they'll either need to become decentralized, which I think binance said 3y where going to, or they'll just get rekt.

Well there are stricter regulations coming up day in and out concerning exchanges but most exchanges will still continue operations and so all they will need to do will be to comply with the regulations being brought up.In any case the decentralized exchanges will eventually become the exchanges of choice very soon.

poloniex of course.

that's been bought out by circle who have goldman sachs backing, among many others, plus the SEC okayed the sale.

it doesn't get much more establishment than that.

other exchanges will probably have to get into bed in a similar manner with bigger players or shut down. the free for all is gonna be over very soon for anywhere that deals with  america at least.

Binance, bittrex, bitfinex, poloniex...and many other exchanges will ( probably ) disappear in the future and the fully decentralised exchanges will take the place ( where the exchange "which actually plays the role of third party ", won't have any influence on transactions ) ie the transactions will be made from wallet to wallet without the need to deposit and withdraw from the exchange platform

If we are talking about the current exchange that's been very active today, I must say that Binance and Bittrex have the greater chance of surviving through the coming years. Bittrex has been delisting numerous coins that cannot meet their requirements as they are apparently adhering to US laws. With that, Bittrex would likely to survive when new laws will be passed down to regulate exchanges. As for Binance, well, I don't have anything to say about them but I have a hunch that they will make it through.

As for my own desire, I would want to have exchanges that are mostly composed of decentralized ones. This is the main goal of cryptocurrency and we should live up to it. I'm pretty sure that it will come sooner as we are having different exchanges sprouting out every day with decentralized included in their tagline.

Poloniex should survive because I trade there, kidding aside big exchanges I believe will survive. I hope many exchanges will do, of course we don't want exchanges to be out of the market specially when your funds are there but the competition are getting high so for them to survive they must continue to improve their services.

I don't care about their names but the point is whatever the names and types of exchanges which will last forever is an Honest, Shariah, and Trustful exchange.

The ones that get regulated the most, ie American exchanges. But just as likely those same American exchanges will be put under immense scrutiny meaning they could be first to go. I would put my bet on a place where regulation can't necessarily go, like an offshore exchange. Not sure if one exists, but that would be my long term bet.

There are new upcoming exchanges right now. New exchanges that aggregate a lot of tokens plus there are some good features and I think those exchanges are good rather than Poloniex. However, there is no such exchange for me that is reliable and safe rather than poloniex. The first legitimate exchange that I used. Poloniex is the best exchange for me though there are new exchanges that will enter in cryptocurrency, Poloniex will always remain the best upon them.

Logically, exchange which has popularity and high trading volume will never be shutted down example bittrex.
There are some other also have similar volume like binance which will stay away from closing.
But its not 100% guarantee since those exchange also can be hacked and close.

We cannot say who's crypto exchange will survive in the future. This is because all of the exchanges are prone to any kind of hacking attempts. Especially the leading and major exchange like binance.

The best security for our crypto is to store it on an offline or hardware wallet. Storing all of your token/crypto inside exchanges are very risky.

No one knows, until it is used by the community it will never be closed unless it is hacked and the devs of it not act for recovering from its loss. But the mere fact is doing some marketing will always be a good way to continue the daily operation of a certain company and ofcourse the support of the community will be great impact.

I think major exchangers will survive the market because of the volume of trades I saw big exchanges like bittrex poloniex and bitstamp for my own opinion only. But no one knows what will happen if there a major crash of coins but still coins will be survive.  For some reason, Bitstamp is good for me, I remembered the time that  bitcoin trend is down and some hackers came out from bitstamp the account was on hold and all our funds refund and back to normal.

When we talked about the future of whats exchange will do exists for this no one can tell exact. There are many exchanges do exists most are goods, with good feedback and good performance in terms of transactions. The best in here is the exchange should expand their security and maintain their good performance for their users. Yes because of hacking issues so more likely I do hope binance and bittrex could stay longer.

Exchange depends on the support of investors, if no longer accept investors, then Exchange will disappear. So I think it's important for long-term business ventures to create trust for investors, to support investors so that they are both mutually beneficial as the way big exchanges exist.

Exchanges with robust technical architecture, capable of handling the load, better performance, better customer service, improved liquidity pool and trusted investors will survive. The ones which are poorly built are likely to crash down and the ones with no money are definitely going to vanish.

There are dozens of exchanges, most of them wouldn't survive. Only a few good ones would continue. In my opinion, Bittrex and Binance will definitely survive in future. Binance has grown sharply over the past six months.

It is easy to use and i am always on the go! i set a buy order or sell order right from my mobile device!  Make a free account with Binance and play around with it and i promise that you will fall in love just as i did.

Exchanges are closing not because of they don't have traders but either due to they got hacked or due to government regulation they can't meet the requirement to continue exchanges so they will end up closing the exchanges. I too think that Bittrex may survive for long but can't say with full guaranty.

Bittrex is a very stable exchange as compared to others doing business int he same cryptocurrency market. However, since Bittrex is based in USA we don't know what kind of regulations that USA might pass years from now. The thing is that anything can be risky here in cryptocurrency though others can be riskier. As of now, other exchanges are doing good volume in comparison to those US-based exchanges and this can be trend for the next many months.

no offense but that means you are a fool! Bittrex is one of the biggest scammers of our time among exchanges out there. and they have a lot of financial problems, that is why they scammed thousands of users out of their money. they lured them in from all around the world and when these users had enough money in their accounts in total they decided to close all their accounts from certain countries to solve their financial problems. they made millions by simply scamming these people.

it is only a matter of time before they do what Mt Gox, Cryptsy and a dozen other did.

You might be wrong about Bittrex. I believe Poloniex has a better chance to survive. Circle bought it and they are now approaching the SEC and might be in talks on how to move the exchange forward in a regulated environment.

Unless Bittrex delists all ICO tokens and POS coins, they are still at risk of being ordered to shut down.

There is only one reason for the exchangers to close down and thats regulations taking them down. Otherwise most of the exchangers are blessed with huge amount of money driving through them everyday. The coins and tokens get listed very fast so that they can be visible to people or investors and this way exchangers get their publicity done in indirect ways. I think exchangers are most secured business in terms of profitability and thus they have very less chances of shutting down immediately. However if there are any exchangers which are having almost no volume everyday then they can get closed down.

I highly doubt any other exchanges will survive other than Binance.. I have faith on it at 99% most of the time,, even after a much talked hacking attempts and FUDs,, they’ve managed to successfully counter such with fast team audits and found the source in a short period of time..

We can’t be a 100% sure of anything,, but keep your attitude as a base on measures toward trading.. Be safe always..

I think most exchanges that focus on security and compliance and also move with the times, will be the ones that will survive. I have faith that many decent exchanges can survive and grow as the demand grows for cryptocurrency trading. If though the demand wanes for some reason, then if many exchanges are not in profit, they will eventually close as that can only be their inevitability. Let's hope more people become interested in Bitcoin and Altcoins in the future.

The exchanges which can give good support to the users will last long and the other will disappear in the future but most of the exchanges have very poor support to the traders if there is any issue it is hard to get solution for it so we need new decentralized exchanges.

The most of the exchanging sites are closed in future because future crypto platform is user friendly so some changes is possible and current trading sites are not convenient for everyone only few sites are easily accessible in all the people. I think Bittrex, poloniex and Binance are survive in future and other sites are little complicated.

Nowadays there are very complex with the exchanges as there are tons of Coins and ICO are been released day by day.Major exchanges like Bittrex and Binance have stopped adding New coins to their exchange and they have started delisting many coins from their exchanges as they are no use to be listed over there. In coming months only exchanges like Binance, Bittrex, Zebpay are going to be working and all other decentralized ones are going to dies sooner.

Bittrex is doing too well on their job, trust and longstanding reputation after binance, I still doubt about it. Everything becomes more important with bittrex.
Perhaps binance has created a series of lessons for so many traders because trust can lose many things from them.

The ones with the best support, best professionalism, etc. This is, of course, going to be Binance -- they've really led the charge when it comes to being the best exchange and the fastest growing exchange in crypto. I wish them the best in their quest.

I see a lot of people here think that p2p / decentralized exchanges are going to win out, I personally can't see people getting involved with them, but that's just me. I guess we'll see what the future holds.

I guess the popular exchanges (for example)

will survive. Unless these exchanges are hacked like Binance recently (https://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/news/cryptocurrencynewsknow-hacked-binance-theres-250000-reward/), I don't see how they wont survive

It is best to read a guide to cryptocurrency exchange to fully understand exchanges and then make a judgement on their potential lifespan. I found a very detailed blog post answering lots of first time questions around cryptocurrency exchanges here

I believe Bittrex will hold it very well until a very long time. While there have been many issues regarding trading, balances, deposit and withdrawals, Bittrex has never betrayed anyone I can remember of till date. It has been running smooth from the beginning of its launch. Apart from Bittrex, Binance is the one which I think will make it huge in the future. I have read much about and have been following it online for many months. It has a good team behind it which is all it takes for any exchange to survive till the end.

Why you think exchange will be closed soon? How if there are no place for ICO investors to sell token they bought from ICO projects? I think it'll be terrible. If there are any exchange can be closed I think it must be small exchange like COSS but Bittrex, Binance, Bitfinex,...I don't think these great exchange will be closed in the future :)

i strongly believe that in a couple of years we will see two different but both huge types of exchanges.
one of them will be the centralized exchanges but only regulated ones with strict rules and they will be under regulation and control of the government. so they will become big because of the higher security and nearly zero chance of them scamming.
the other one will be decentralized exchanges which will become huge because they are decentralized and nobody can ever control them and also there is near zero chance of anybody scamming you!

Thus far, anything can happen. MT. GOx was the best crypto exchange and the largest. People thought it was legit and it really was... but all it took was one (ok many) insider hacks... and suddenly it went down without allowing too many withdrawals.

I personally think Kraken, Bittrex, and Binance and Coinbase are the safest bets. Poloniex has a lot of FUD, and I'm not really sure if anyone uses it anymore when all the new coins appear on either rex or nance. And Poloniex often has server issues that screws everyone over.

But i really feel like it just takes one really good hack to take down Bittrex and Binance.

Coinbase can get hacked, but it has backing by the federal reserve, so I think it will survive. Kraken seems like a solid exchange too. Kraken was around since Mt. Gox, and has remaind strong without any hacks.

I harboured some hopes of a huge exodus from all these big Polos, Bittrexs, Coinbases to fast, cheap, user-secured decentralised exchanges when I first learnt about them last year. The hype started in 2016 apparently, but after participating in once ICO (yes, I was a newbie too) and trying out trades faithfully on two DEXs for a time (Waves and Counterparty), I think I was way too optimistic.

Meeting plenty of newcomers who still want to choose centralised wallets, centralised exchanges, for the benefit of having someone to talk to and help them out as they learn to use bitcoin/crypto, I'm now thinking that these big exchanges still have a lot of years left in them. In fact, they'll probably continue to grow for as long as we remain in the phase of mainstream adoption.

Survival implies that they're facing extinction, but other than regulatory compliance and hacking risks, I have a feeling the big exchanges still responsible for the majority of volume are here to stay for the foreseeable future.

A hacked exchange frequently accused as a famous trick behind the real intention to scam . Idk really how many exchange claimed that they are under attack and forced to close the business with some compensations promised but they didn't do anything just disappear , classic scheme. The only exchage I can trust are the one who I know well the owner itself and it's my local exchange but globally ... Yeah bittrex seems promising with its service currently also with less problems they get rather than any other exchanges.

Traders can use the platform for multiple digital currencies, including, but not limited to Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, EOS, Dash, LiteCoin, NEO, GAS, Zcash, Dash, Ripple and more. I think that Poloniex, is one of the exchanges that will never die, i mean it has the ability to adapt to the market and for what i have seen, practicly all the good ICOs that are successful have got their tokens listed on there, along with poloniex's low exchange fees and the ability to siwtch betwwen coins in real time makes it one of the best out there, and i am sure that when shits starts going down it will be the one standing.

We can hope for the prevail of our favorite exchanges like the Bittrex but actually, we cant know for sure if this exchange will survive an ongoing wave of the new exchanges that are releasing their own coins and also the direct onslaught of the governments which are actually full of greed.
Their greed is getting so high that they are banning exchange transfers to FIAT due to increasement of the investors in the crypto market.
On a long-term, we will see but we cannot tell for sure what will happen.
Exchanges with the potential will survive but even that best secured may be hacked or even revealed as the corrupted.

Never ever got the the chance to use binance but base on youtube its popular and handy as they say, not me.

So back to OPs main topic what exchange will survive? Well many exchanges will continue to iternity but to say that all things will go or pass away like living things. So exchanges may go and some will create new and more exchanges so we can't really say what exchanges will survive in the world of cryptocurrencies.

Also we have many users of bittrex, polinex or binance and they may crash but with propper maintenance and people to handle it, who know it might will be the last amn standing. Just saying basing on what I read know.

Back then many major exchanges went down. Like MtGox, Mintpal, Cryptssy, Cryptorush, etc.

However those exchanges were largely unregulated and never followed protocol.

These days with regulation becoming a thing more and more exchanges will need to follow certain protocol which should insure customer safety.

I think most BTC on exchanges are all on cold storage. Hence most funds are safe.

poloniex of course.

that's been bought out by circle who have goldman sachs backing, among many others, plus the SEC okayed the sale.

Poloniex is the first exchange to actually be approved by the SEC, which is a big deal, but it still doesn't mean that we'll see it grow into a major exchange again. Interesting fact is that Circle isn't only backed by Goldman Sachs, but....., but......, also by J.P. Morgan! It once again shows how much of a hypocrite that bank really is. I may even believe that in a certain way, they are guilty of insider trading and market manipulation, because the market did actually react to the statement of CEO Jamie Dimon, and investigations may turn out to show that either the bank itself, or through proxy, they bought themselves into the market.

Honestly, Poloniex is one of the biggest platfrom of trading on the internet, It used by a thousand of users. I think it will survive because it have a good reputation and I already used it for a couple of weeks, I never found any problem, All my transactions done quickly like a charm, I don't know a lot of exchanger, but I already have a look at bittrex, it's seems a good exchanger too, I think these 2 that I mentioned will survive for sure.

But everyone is talking about coins and ICOs but I tend to believe most of the exchanges will be closed soon.
An exchange is a hell of a thing.

If cryptos will continue to succeed, I don't think exchanges will ever close, I'm pretty sure instead of closing a lot of exchanges will open for those upcoming ICO which are not yet listed in the current exchanges. For me bittrex and poloniex will continue to become a good exchanges even in future time.

Centralized exchange are on their way out,  it is only matter of time before government will make it practically impossible for them to keep operating in cryptocurrency currency ecosystem that is not in tandent with current centralized financial system.

Yeah, we cannot really do without fiat exchanges anyway considering what you have said and also considering that for now, there is absolutely no way to even spend your crypto without having to convert to fiat first and I am sure the government is trying to make sure that this comes to play first before the whole crypto space explode and they are not even able to easily handle it based on their regulation.

I am very much confident on bittrex to survive and obviously since they are apparently complying with all the SEC rules and regulations, I am sure they will be one top notch US exchange to use. I am sure some exchanges may end up being blown out and most especially the shitty ones, but I guess time will tell, but at the end, it also depends on where the exchanges are situated anyway, but there are just some of the big exchanges that I am sure will keep up.

I have tried also the customer service response of bittrex and their support can reply to you very fast but I have not tried the other two. hope this comment can help you determine what exchange site will you be trusting

A year a go I have faith with Bittrex but after some not successful transaction with out know how to fix it, I leave Bittrex. Exchange can close if they can't show better services and security into their system. Government rules, slow market will not stop exchange operation. Nothing too worry about exchange, every day new exchange comes up with many tools and powerful system to survive on real market. Keep calm and happy exchange.

I'm sure that point of view is come up when all the centralized exchanges like bittrex and etc are getting stricter with personal identity verification, and especially Bittrex has a problem with the support system if I'm not mistaken. If we talk about which exchanges that will exchange in the future, I will definitely come up with the answer is the decentralized exchanges. I'm sure the decentralized exchanges are more friendly with cryptocurrencies scene whereas the user is seeking for a decentralization economics, privacy, and anonymity.

it is funny how some bitcointalker think some exchange cannot be hacked. in as much as any platform is designed by a human then it can be hacked so no exchange is not prone to being hacked. binance just have a taste of that recently. back to the subject, I believe no exchange can workout without central authority even though we have had in the past from some exchanges that claim to be decentralized. factors such as security, liquidity and asset control are some of the factors making many platform going centralized even though they pretend to be decentralized

Possibiity yes as always even for the big and reputable one. Let's just minimize the risks whatever it takes.

Although we don't like the idea of using a centralized exchange, it's way more less risky as they are listed as legit company by central authorities. They are complying with the same terms and rules applied on any money institutional firm giving quiet an assurance to their users that they are in "good" hands. It's difficult  to just did some fraudaulent activity in those regulated exchanges as they will face the consequences bound by the law.

Well no way we can trade regularly if we don't used an exchange service so face the risks and hope that there's nothing shit will happened.

Here everything depends on the management of the exchange. If the management is leading the right policy and cares about its customers, then such a stock exchange will work for a very long time. But I hope that soon we will see decentralized exchanges with good tools.

There is a lot more exchange that will come. Look at the ICO's, full of projects to create one exchange that will be better than the older ones.  ;D

It is a good thing, competition is indeed helpful. But still who will remain?
There have been  a lot of issues about KYC's and I think that is one  hell of a problem when it comes to usage.
People leaned on crypto for privacy, then why KYC before withdrawal or if making a higher transaction? Decentralized exchange will still be the factor to stay in the line.

it doesn't get much more establishment than that.

other exchanges will probably have to get into bed in a similar manner with bigger players or shut down. the free for all is gonna be over very soon for anywhere that deals with  america at least.
Yes, I believe most of these old exchanges will not have any problem anyway and that includes bittrex as well. Poloniex will sure comply with all regulations and policies, since Goldman is kind of involved in a way and we can see even with bittrex, that the regulation is changing the whole atmosphere gradually. The likes of hitbtc and yobit though, I feel their days are numbered. The day of shit exchanges and shit coins dying is just around the corner.

Well there are stricter regulations coming up day in and out concerning exchanges but most exchanges will still continue operations and so all they will need to do will be to comply with the regulations being brought up.In any case the decentralized exchanges will eventually become the exchanges of choice very soon.
One thing is that most of the exchanges will end up succumbing to the rules and regulations and adhering to the policies based on where they are situated.

For a while now, bittrex has been doing this and from the news SEC policies, it has been removing some coins or tokens that are not properly registered and that is where the whole regulation thingy comes to play, so at the end, they will all end up complying at the end of it all.

the OLD that till now still running is the best, Bittrex, Poloniex, Yobit, Binance, Bitfinex, i think its the one that will survive, the new exchange that only need our identity just for trading is not worth at all, so much exchange now, that release their own coin
It is not good for us to be thinking. Sure, they have the highest chances of survival and I do not expect them to have any issue anyway until they have an issue but the best thing is to always play safe as long as we cannot know what the future holds rather than assuming an exchange is strong enough not to have an issue. It is a world of several possibilities and we just have to live with that and minimize the risks.

Agreed, even though I have always had my doubt with MtGox in the past as a lot of things just kept flagging up some crazy downsides, I still made use of it anyway.

However, the essence with the MtGox thing is that anything can happen to any exchange like you have said, and it is at least becoming a norm for people to understand not to put their funds in an exchange since they do not have any control over it. Exchanges I believe should survive as long as everything ends up going fine with them, but we cannot see the future.

Yeah, I think people still have a long way to go to understand that with exchanges, just like real companies, the risk is always there for hacks and security breaches - especially exchanges in fact, since everything is online and has to be.

You're right, we all hate centralized exchanges. I honestly can't wait for DEXs to take charge but we're stuck with the centralized ones for now for the volume and easy of trades. And because they are centralized, we do need regulations, it's for our own good. I'm all for jailing and fining errant exchanges.

Title: Re: What exchanges will survive?

i strongly believe that in a couple of years we will see two different but both huge types of exchanges.
one of them will be the centralized exchanges but only regulated ones with strict rules and they will be under regulation and control of the government. so they will become big because of the higher security and nearly zero chance of them scamming.
the other one will be decentralized exchanges which will become huge because they are decentralized and nobody can ever control them and also there is near zero chance of anybody scamming you!
If the decentralized exchanges end up working out perfectly well, then I can see them booming a lot and the centralized exchanges taking a huge hit for that, but still when it comes to liquidity, the ease to use, I feel the centralized exchanges may still have an edge but who knows. It is the cryptocurrency world and anything can happen, and with the idea of the decentralized exchanges being favorable and booming, we should even expect the government to start getting their hands dirty on eliminating cryptocurrency entirely as that shows more threat.

Long existing exchanges like Bittrex, Poloniex and also Coinbase/Kraken will probably exist a little longer.

In the future, however, I see decentralised exchanges coming very strongly, because they are simply much safer.

For all exchanges are best. I believe from all of them because whenever I trade all of my coins are not different. They are all decentralized for me to use. am sure a good number have heard of Quoine Liquid Platform. that is my bet for the future, why? their concept is ambitious but I hope they will be able to pull it off. basically qash seeks to unlock liquidity by linking all exchanges worldwide in one order book. they are audited by one of the big4 auditing firms in the world, and they are registered in Japan. it will be very convenient to trade on liquid platform because you have access to all coins at the most stable prices, while at the same time able to reduce overhead costs

For me Binanace and Bitrex both are good, But there is some benefit in binance more than bitrex. I personally suggest my friends to use binance. Because its a very fastest growing trading platform in the world. We can buy most of the cryptocoins with Ethereum and BTC. Moreover, trading fees are less than Bitrex. Binance mob application is user friendly.

Only those which are regulated and will survive to the storm in a near future, that is why i think that it is better to use the main exchanges such as bittrex, binance and a few other mores

According to statistics, the number of people trading on Binance is the highest, I trust there and I often trade Binance they are extremely cheap rates, maybe the fee is only in Binance and some trading floor Medium.

I put my hope in cex (https://cex.io/). Can’t say that it’s the only reliable exchange, coz I’ve heard of different ones, which are often discussed and recommended, so I assume they may be good too. But, honestly, I haven’t tried ‘em yet. So, this one is my first exchange and I haven’t faced any problems with it so far.

You have not tried them yet and you are putting your hope in them. Who are you ? god of hope ? Cex is just one of those exchanges which I really would not even want to be holding so much in for so long. There are other exchanges like binance, bittrex that one can at least have some little bit peace of mind, even though no exchange can be trusted, but at least, you can still trade with ease without having to get messed up in a way.

You are contradicting yourself a whole lot though, because you said you have not tried them and then you are saying it is one of your first exchange and you have not had any problem with them so far. You need some deliverance mate.

Actually, these are top notch exchanges that you have mentioned, and we all expect that since most especially the likes of bittrex have been able to stand the test of time and have been doing well for a long time now, keeping on with that will help them sustain themselves for the long term. With volume, binance just came all of a sudden to overtake a lot of exchanges, and so far is doing great. For exchanges with nothing to really come with to stiffen the competition, it will be hard for them to thrive and over time, with less volume, they simply become crap.

A lot of votes with Binance. Okay they are in the hype now but there will be more that could better them and we might see that on the coming years when ICO's gets completed. We are looking at most of the ICO's want to have a better feature than them.
It will be created, maybe not now but some time in this year or the next a new popular exchange will come out again.

If you want to talk about exchanges that will close down, you should start with the small exchanges. Bigger exchanges like Bittrex can’t close down easily small exchnagers, cause they are fully supported and backed up by investors.

Bittrex, Coinbase, Binance, Poloniex and other big exchanges won’t close down. Just like when we’re talking about cryptocurrencies that were unsuccessful or ICOs that closed down due to lack of funds. 😑

We have seen how well DEXchanges have worked out. Crypto-Bridge is terrible and the customer support is even worse. Sure the theory sounds great, but who do you call when there's a problem? who takes the blame if the site crashes and funds are lost? who is held accountable then??? Stick with an exchange that has real people behind the scenes.

If exchange is a hell of a thing, then you can go to hell. Yes bttrex is a reputable exchange but counting out other exchanges is not healthy for the cryptocurrency. There should be competition among exchanges to ensure that other ICO will be able to enlist their tokens to a certain exchange. Your thoughts is not the basis for the future of crypto exchanges.

Binance is the go to exchange for now because they have large volume and the coins listed in there exchange are really getting popular and pump immediately even in the announcement yet. But still, there is a possibility that people would decide to transfer to other exchanges in the future if they don't like the exchange's service anymore just like what happen to Poloniex and Bittrex in which they are the ones dominating the market before but now they are not even in the top 10.

Decentralized exchanges would dominate the market eventually when the centralized ask or force its users to have KYC just like what happen to Poloniex and Bittrex. Other exchanges has a limit so users still have a choice if they want to have KYC or not and I hope it would remain this way. There are many exchanges you can choose from for now but still others are not that known yet because of lack of volume.

there are some new models of exchanges that makes volume last time like Fcoin:
According to the platform's WP, the total amount of FT is limited to 10 billion, 51 percent of which will be shared publicly, and 49 percent will remain FCoin and site investors. But instead of conducting an ICO or airdrop, FCoin will distribute 51 percent of tokens through transactions on the exchange. For example, for each transactional commission, the user spends bitcoin or ether, and the platform reimburses 100 percent of the commission cost in FT tokens to the user.

But everyone is talking about coins and ICOs but I tend to believe most of the exchanges will be closed soon.

By saying more people prefer Kucoin that means the volume of this exchange will grow as well.
It's not what I am seeing now because the volume of Kucoin is only $57,157,826 while Binance is currently having a volume of $1,143,923,346 USD .
There is a big disparity so we know which is the crowd favorite.

Kucoin is pretty good exchange, but i think there too much issues with this exchange like: too much coins, bot control price, low volumn... Binance still the better exchange, but if Kucoin can fix those problem then it will become 1st exhange.

Exchanges come and go, after a big hack the exchange losses a lot of confidence from the community and if they are not able to recover then they disappear, but I really think that the new regulations being pushed all around the world are going to put an increased pressure on exchanges and while the bigger ones will manage to survive many small exchanges will have trouble to do it.

Bittrex is a shit exchange, i dont understand why you are still using it at the moment, it has scammed a lot of their users just by cancelling and blocking their accounts (just like it happened to me during the last year, i lost $5000) and i dont think that it will survive for a long time.

Yeah, the tremendous growth if ICOs are making certain centralized exchanges go into the shadows. I quite remeber when I entered crypto, people used to ask in telegram, "when binance", but I hardly see such messages nowadays. It could also be the market fall that's making them cold, maybe a rising market price will wake up the dead ones. One aspect we should also cconsuder is that, the competition in crypto is wild and hectic. You don't take care, you'll be wiped out within a twinkle of an eye.

The other ones are not going to survive for the next few years, well, this is just my opinion

despite a small volume of turnover, the exchangers still receive their interest and thus they have every chance to survive. but the fact is that not crypto-currency is growing every year and therefore it is necessary to satisfy all consumers with different opportunities on the exchange. Therefore, all exchanges will be in demand.

I think that in the end all of them will be obsolete and unneeded. Why pay fees to exchanges when you can trade directly etc. It'll be done in the future somehow.
I would not say they will be obsolete though, but over time, decentralized exchanges will pop up and start taking the space bit by bit until they get better.

Nevertheless, when it comes to volume though, we really do not have any choice for now, and all we can do is to simply make use of the ones available with at least a bit of trust. I would say for now, bittrex and binance are still a lot more better when it comes to security, volume and some other features, but for binance, top notch on fees and volume.

Decentralized exchange  is future of crypto exchange like Idex and waves platform.  They given user full control with the private key,  and this is avoid hack or others issue that usually happen in centralized exchange. Currently Centralized exchange is still more popular because they offer more trading tool and lower trading fee, but in the future decentralized exchange  is give more benefits and give solutions for current problem in centralized exchange.

Depending on who buys what is a more important question. We know coinbase is a huge hit and will stay for a long time but since startups are mainly acquired by bigger companies we can assume that given long enough time and going as high as they can, in the end almost all exchanges will be sold to some big company. Google, facebook, amazon all can buy one of these exchanges.

I think coinbase seems like it could be the first target. Think about facebook buying coinbase for couple of billion dollars. Crypto world will be affected by it so much. Facebook can do its own advertisement to billions of people at will with their facebook website ads, instagram ads, whatsapp somehow. I mean crypto will be everywhere if that happens.

it seems like a place of exchange that will last very long will be very difficult to determine because I am sure will be a little even the market that initially is a big market could be going to be quiet so no one knows.
Few best exchanges are outstanding, highly rated and recommended for users of crypto market. These exchanges will survive till the end or forever because as long as cryptocurrencies are alive in this world then exchanges will survive. These exchanges are for cryptocurrencies so have great importance especially Binance, Bittrex and Coinbase which are the best exchanges in the whole modern world.

It is difficult to predict the futures market in the future. In a trend-adjusted environment and a fast transition in the crypto market. I think that the coming trend may be the centralizer exchange . or DEx have the preparation or change to match. About such information, no one is sure or even near to surety. Reason is, bitcoin world is now increasing and growing with utmost power and enthusiasm but no one is guaranteed about next coming day. You can be seeing this market being Bull Run within some days and then people are extracting out money they have invested or traded. And this all can go against this scenario as well.

Sure, and the good thing is that we are going to get to see a lot of competition in the long run when it comes to exchanges that it may get to a point where we may just have to start paying very close to free fee on the exchanges.
At least, binance started the heat on other exchanges with the low fees and that to me is a lot to challenge other players like bittrex. I know some exchanges though may not have the chance at it, but time will tell. After binanace and bittrex, I love cryptopia, stocks.exchnage and coinexchnage sites. They are because they are the number 1 exchange right now.
But, they are also developing a decentralized exchange that will be launch next year, that is big and might disrupt other centralized exchange.
Imagine the freedom we will have if that time comes, no need KYC, coins does not need to apply to be traded, it's automatic.

The most biggest exchange will survive, and also maybe some small exchanges that have users and still using that and they have some good volume every month. To name some of big exchange i think will survive are: binance, bittrex, kucoin, cryptopia and also others.
yes, I think large markets like binance, and others will remain as long as they have a high security system, and they are also being developed. well, however, we certainly can't be sure because we don't know what can happen in the future.

For some reason, I have my faith on Bittrex.
But everyone is talking about coins and ICOs but I tend to believe most of the exchanges will be closed soon.
An exchange is a hell of a thing.

In fact, Bittrex is one of the trusted and good exchanger and once you said bittrex you will know all good cryptocurrency are there and all of them have good and high volume. As of now many people keep on creating good exchange so I do not have any idea which exchanger will last forever or which exchanger will be gone.

That's right, there are hundreds of exchanges now working in cryptocurrency. Base on my research there are more than 500 exchanges last survey on the month of April on this current year. I probably there's a lot more keep on engaging into trading services.
Bittrex exchange is one of the most having reputable exchange but I must prefer using Binance. An exchange will survive if the was always active and keep on improving their trading site.

Big exchanges will probably survive against the small ones. But it's important that they have good reputation and that they are compliant with all necessary regulations in order to run legitimate business. To my opinion there are currently too much exchanges on the market without real need for them and also they don't all provide quality services to their users. So with time selection will be made and only the best and those most flexible will keep going on with their business.

the market with the concept of decentralization will continue to emerge, but those who will survive are only a part of them. investors will be more confident in the market which is always able to get the highest market volume every day and still be dominated by a centralized market with all policy updates that are fair to its users.

I think all top exchange will be survuve until the last day of cryptocurrency. They are all good in terms of liquidity and security. Hence, many people will believe on them specially in Binance and kucoin. However, if there are hacking incidents that would happen, I assume that the trust of the people will fade also.

There is possibilities that some exchange will turn into closing and it mostly happen into new exchanges which have a small numbers of trading pairs.
Community support will give help for its survival and so the owners will provide a good service and have an immediate action once problem occurs so traders won't be disappointed.

Tend to agree. Do you think regulations will also play in a role in the future of exchanges? Exchanges such as Binance will get it quite difficult for what they allowed / did back in the crypto wild west in 2017 and before.

Try to check the coinmarketcap dude here https://coinmarketcap.com/rankings/exchanges/reported/
you can see there the top 20 exchange over that site, perhaps those platform who belongs to that top 20 will
only survive base on my opinion. Though, Bittrex has been established here for a years.

I think that there will be only the best, in which developers are constantly improving their exchange. Some certain part of the exchanges will disappear, but they will be replaced by others.

The time of some exchanges has passed, and now there are many new exchanges, and most of the unsuccessful.Good projects are really few, I have allocated Velvet.exchange for myself, this is a really promising platform

I also consider this platform quite good. There is a demo mode for beginners. They also provide useful market analytics and advice to traders. Velvet could be a very cool platform in the future.

Well I am also waiting for that moment. Only true survivors will survive in this situation. At least this is the need of hour, to shut the fake exchanges. It will also separate the time pass or parrt time btc/crypto investors from the market. Only full time bounty participant and crypto researcher will be able to remain understand this situation.

Exchanges that persist until now are of course an exchange that does have quality, an exchange must provide the best service because every user who tries to trade definitely wants a comfortable situation when trading. The security and integrity of an exhcanges will be an important foundation in determining the existence of these exchanges. It will also determine whether an exchange can survive or not.

Many exchanges haven't been fair with their dealings with customers, so it is highly likely that they wouldn't survive for long. In my opinion, exchanges such as Binance, Bittrex, Poloniex and KuCoin will definitely survive for long.

Well even these exchanges you're talking about that's not being fair with their customers have a lot of dealings still. And they're drawing in a lot of money regardless of the market's state. Establishes and old exchanges have a higher survival rate than new ones since they already have their own folowing.

New exchanges continue to emerge and this is good for users because there are more choices for crypto trading. but the exchange will continue to be tested for their existence with services provided whether traders will continue to arrive or even leave. I believe binary, huobi, bittrex, OKEx, IDEX and also photos will last a minimum of 2 years

Every exchange can possibly survive this dilemma but the most possible chance is who can survive is the reputed exchanges that built up the trust of their users.

I have observed that exchanges are now rampant in the crypto space like Altcoins that they becoming more and more in which many of them are now crap. Sometimes i wonder if having lot of exchange for the sake of competition is really helpful in the market but i considered Bittrex is a good exchange that it will survived together with Binance, Kucoin and HitBTC.

That is a difficult question to answer, because the most simple of the answers that I can think is that those exchanges that are going to survive are those that make profits and that are trusted by the community, but creating and maintaining an exchange is something very complex, exchanges are under a lot of pressure by governments to implement know your customer policies and to ask for more information from their clients.

This means that some exchanges could survive or could disappear based just on the jurisdiction in which they are located, because there are going to be governments which will be opposed to the idea of cryptocurrencies growing in power while other governments will be fine with that idea.
