Title: Is Bitcoin legal
Post by: Omosomofa on March 21, 2018, 08:17:21 PM
To the best of my knowledge, Bitcoin has not been made illegal by legislation in most jurisdictions. However, some jurisdictions (such as Argentina and Russia) severely restrict or ban foreign currencies. Other jurisdictions (such as Thailand) may limit the licensing of certain entities such as Bitcoin exchanges.
Regulators from various jurisdictions are taking steps to provide individuals and businesses with rules on how to integrate this new technology with the formal, regulated financial system.

But have you come to think of it... Whether Bitcoin can be used for illegal Activities...
What are some ways you think it can be used for? (illegal Activities) mention some.

As long as it is not declared illegal bitcoin is okay in a certain country.
More and more regulations are now being implemented in cryptocurrency. This can make bitcoin be really approved by the government. When they implement new rules it will help in the long run the cryptomarket.

Though bitcoin or any other crypto can still be used in illegal activities. Such as trading money that is gained illegally or scamming some people.

Legality of Bitcoin is still a big question.Legality of Bitcoin varies from country to country. For example Bitcoin is legal in Canada,United states, South Africa and is illegal in the countries like Bangladesh,China etc. Many countries are not declaring Bitcoin as legal because of it's decentralized nature.Due to it's decentralized nature no government or bank is able to track the Bitcoin transactions which make this transactions anonymous.Due to this anonymity many people use Bitcoin for illegal dealings such as drug dealing or ammunition dealing. Bitcoin is not able to gain the amount of trust fiat has that's why it is still illegal in many countries.

Bitcoin is used for both legal and illegal activities. why many countries are not accepting Bitcoins means this is the reason it is more used for Illegal activities like Funding terrorist activities, money laundering, drugs dealing etc.

Bitcoin can be used for example for the same types of activities that can be used with fiat money. It is stupid, fiat money then also must be banned, they are used for terrorism and drugs

Bitcoin is money and money can be used for both good and bad things. Same goes for Bitcoin, it can be used to fund charities which is one of the most noble gestures anyone can do and can be used up to the worst things which I am not saying it here but I am sure many of you can imagine what I am referring too. It all depends on the user if it is used for good or if it used for bad.

That is why we have many different stances on bitcoin from many different countries, for some is legal and for some it is not.

You can't generalize bitcoin's legality as it differs from country to country just like what you've said. Some considers it legal tender, others don't acknowledge it and the rest are just neutral about the said cryptocurrency. Use case as of this current time is limited to being a speculative asset and a form of payment, though the latter isn't evidently being practiced as there are only a few merchants and services who accept it as a payment.

Bitcoin is being used in illicit activities as early as 2012 if I'm not mistaken, usually by drug dealers on the now-defunct Silk Road and other types of services and contrabands in the said black market. It's also one of the reasons why some governments can't simply just accept it, simoly because they see that money laundering and illegal deals can use bitcoin as their medium which is already hard to trace.

Well bitcoin being legal or illegal depends on whicb country you are living in. In some countriea it is legal, in some it is not and some countries are still deciding what to do.
About illegal activities, bitcoin had been used and maybe is being used for various illegal activities on the dark web. It's hard to trace transactions are the reason it is used for such activities.

It depends on the government on how they interpret bitcoin sometimes they declared that bitcoin is illegal but others said it is ok or legal. The country government decides if they accept bitcoin or not because if not they banned bitcoin and saying that it was illegal and it was happening here in my country before but now it was already legalize.

It is really hard to pinpoint what kind of illegal activities involved in Bitcoin. One thing I know is, movies were made that crime money transactions were passed through blockchain in form of Bitcoin. But I did not know whether it can be done in real life. For me, Bitcoin cannot be used on illegal activities that's why it is not in legislative jurisdiction where it was cited as it is.

Most common illegal activity that may involve the use of bitcoin is gambling. Online gambling is one of the most popular thing in virtual world. Because bitcoin is virtual currency, it is easier to use and transact in gambling using it.

This has been a subtle question asked by many, is bitcoin really legal. For me the legality of bitcoin by countries will be determine by the faith the government of the countries of the world have on the traceeability of the transaction done on the blockchain. For now bitcoin and cryptocurrency generally are decentralized in nature and this makes the traceeability of the transaction done almost impossible. The implications is that this could easily becomes a platform for funding terrorism, money laundering etc. This no doubt as makes many government of the world not to accept bitcoin as a legal entity. However there is increase agitation for regulations to be introduced and when that is fully implemented , then bitcoin will easily be adopted as a legal tender.

As far as i know, there are no countries that prohibit the purchase or sale of Bitcoin except a few countries. Bitcoin worldwide is legal. I think it is exaggerated to use Bitcoin in illegal transactions. Criminals are trying every possible way to commit a crime. Criminals sometimes use Bitcoin, sometimes fiat money, and sometimes gold.

Well, in my country, cryptocurrency is not regulated by the government. In fact, there are some establishments and banks that offer services in relation with crypto. But, the government tried to warn us crypto enthusiast that we should know that 50% in cryptocurrency maybe a scam. Well, we all know here that it is a risky to be a hodler of cryptocurrency.

There are countries that treat bitcoin as they are illegal they implement some laws that limit the using of bitcoin , because someone using them as a payment for illegal activities and items and other people knows it as a scam, But in the brighter side other countries acknowledge the potential of bitcoin and allow bitcoin to use in their country and they support it now, countries that allows bitcoin helps the bitcoin to grow, bitcoin depends on how the person use it in legal things or not.

Once it is recognized, China will become a slave to Europe, the United States and Japan. China will only develop its own digital currency, controlled by the People’s Bank of China. Bitcoin will never imagine that Bitcoin can be consumed in China.

Bitcoin need to be legal so that it could be regulated and to make sure it will not be used in illegal activities such as money laundering, smuggling drugs, ammunition, explosives and it might use the platform to scam people. All of these are possible to put any country and the welfare of the people at risk therefore it is vital for every country to legalize Bitcoin and make it regulated well.

Each country will enact legislation that confirms the prohibition of using virtual currency that they deem to have no clear legal aspects. You can not reliably detect the legality of Bitcoin because the results will vary from country to country. in a country Bitcoin can be used for various purposes of everyday life while in other countries Bitcoin can only be used as a means of money transfer because in that country prohibit the use of Bitcoin to conduct transactions.

All I can say is that Bitcoin is legal for me in a way that it is a convertible decentralized virtual currency. And aside from that, its the world’s first digital, decentralized currency that isn’t controlled by anyone at all. Moreover, the very concept of Bitcoin implies that anyone with enough computing power can create coins by simply being an active part of the community. So there is no any mark of suspicious activity at least for bitcoin to be legalized, right?
But honestly, we can’t hide the fact that Bitcoin will be a subject also for illegal activities.Like the Bitcoin scam sites; The claiming to be Bitcoin-mining sites online, promising us a good return even hourly profit that is just too good to be true but in reality it isn’t but just left us robbed. And since bitcoin has anonymous transaction, its really hard to trace the real owner of each btc users that’s why the dirty business of online world or activities be tempted to use it.

Actually, for Bitcoin, the attitudes of various countries are not consistent. Countries like the United Kingdom and the United States are relatively open and have a higher level of acceptance (higher ones do not necessarily mean acceptance); however, it is more difficult for countries with a combination of politics and business to accept it. Based on some of the special features of Bitcoin, and the fact that this market is just beginning to grow, it is not necessarily accepted by all countries.

yes, until today I have no found more specific legal rules about bitcoin bans. but the rules of a country has a general context about the prohibition of foreign currency. so, because the bitcoin is foreign then the bitcoin is illegal and can not be used as a transaction tool.

yes, if the state does not accept bitcoin, it means illegal, then bitcoin will be an opportunity to perform illegal activities as well.

some information says that bitcoin is used to fund terrorism.

only a few countries have declared Bitcoins ‘unlawful’ which means customers can’t use Bitcoins in ordinary transactions however that doesn’t imply that they cannot use it for making payments. it could be used for getting matters from the global marketplace or transferring cash throughout distinctive nations.

to this point, best Japan is the first us of a to apprehend and legalize Bitcoin, possibly because it turned into invented there. Many different international locations that oppose Bitcoins, do so because Bitcoin transactions occur without important protection and it’s hard to hint the parties involved in the transactions.

the difficulty is a lot complex inside the US, which is involved approximately who might do the legislating—the states or the center.

Government law does not allow; I do not think Bitcoin in the future will be accepted in my country because the economy in the state is very underdeveloped.

So far the 'accepted' phrase can discribe the existence of bitcoin in a certain country, as for today, some are still trying to legalize it some says its legal on their country but its only allowed since there is no law proclaiming that bitcoin is legal on their  place

Bitcoin in my country is not legal yet the government does not prohibit and give users freedom to invest in it. Because bitcoin is not a currency but an asset. As an investor or user does not have legal protection and risks borne alone. The government does not legalize bitcoin because many are abusing such as money laundering and even forbidden transactions.and the government is wary of that.

The legality of Bitcoin depends on who you are, where you are in the world, and what you’re doing with it. Here’s our guide on legal issues concerning Bitcoin, where we mostly focus on the US but cover other major countries as well.

bitcoin legal policy depends on each country, because so far many countries that legalize bitcoin and some that do not legalize bitcoin. bitcoin is still in the speculation of pros and cons in various countries. but I think many citizens use bitcoin
Bitcoin has proven to be a controversial issue for regulators and law enforcers, both targeted this technology with the purpose of controlling its use. Bitcoin's legality depends on who you are, what you are doing with it, and where you live. Despite this never-ending issue, we must be accountable in every action and decision we take and make.

It isn't just the brand name. A decentralized ledger isn't worth much if it isn't secure, if it can be altered on a whim by bad actors. Getting your created token to be secured by 25E hashes per second like Bitcoin would be essentially impossible.

This is precisely why so many crypto tokens created today don't even attempt to create their own blockchains, but rather choose to piggyback on another more established, more secure blockchain. That way they are able to enjoy the security of the host blockchain without the need to bootstrap the kind of security possessed by Bitcoin --- a level of security virtually impossible for any new crypto to achieve.

You aren't going to have an indefinite period of new blockchains being created. This time period is the window during which that is happening, after which only the established blockchains will persist and all remaining action will take place on higher layers.

Many criminal organizations use Crypto to call for support for their organization, to fight the government.

Illegal is a relative word. Illegal to what? Illegal on what? Illegal using? Illegal transaction?

As far as I know Bitcoin is not regulated which makes all the laws restraining the monetary value and capping system doesn't apply to bitcoin. That's why it is a much cheaper way of spending money.

This question is constantly being asked. The point that can not be understood here is that Bitcoin has no problem of being legal. There's no reason not to be legal. Bitcoin transfers may not be legal. Here is the problem of money laundering, trying to destroy the bitcoin. Today's banking sector can not find a solution to the money laundering problem, bitcoin does not offer a solution, but blockchain based crypto projects are trying to solve this problem. I think it's better to focus on that. The world may be a better place to find solutions to illegal currency movements, as everyone will ask whether the bitcoin is legal.

One must understand that government can give punishment even if Bitcoin is not recognized through the eyes of law.

According to many online websites and blogs, bitcoin is sandwich between the legal and illegal norms all around the world. In many countries, bitcoin is still in question as there is no control over it because of decentralization and that's why the government is making it illegal to save their citizens from scams and other fraudulent activities. Yes, there are high chances of using the bitcoin for illegal activities like Dealing drugs, Buying and selling arms and other illegal weapons, for spreading the terrorism everywhere, and for other crimes like Kidnapping and theft. Bitcoin transaction cannot be easily traced because of the highly anonymous transaction and we cannot get information like their name, address, ph.no etc.

There is a lot of confusion between the different countries when bitcoin is being discussed in it, some of the countries (Only a few) have banned it in their countries and some of the countries have allowed it to the people to deal in it and then there are other countries where they have turned a blind eye towards this issue and letting the people to deal in it without legislating about it. So the legality of the bitcoin varies with the name of the country.

only a few countries have declared Bitcoins ‘unlawful’ which means customers can’t use Bitcoins in ordinary transactions however that doesn’t imply that they cannot use it for making payments. it could be used for getting matters from the global marketplace or transferring cash throughout distinctive nations.

to this point, best Japan is the first us of a to apprehend and legalize Bitcoin, possibly because it turned into invented there. Many different international locations that oppose Bitcoins, do so because Bitcoin transactions occur without important protection and it’s hard to hint the parties involved in the transactions.

the difficulty is a lot complex inside the US, which is involved approximately who might do the legislating—the states or the center.
Actually, there are three categories of countries on the basis of bitcoin legalization. Those that have accepted it and let the citizens enjoy its facilities. Then the countries that have banned it. And at last come such states that have neither accepted it nor rejected it, so far these are silent on the topic. But the banning of bitcoin cannot stop anyone because there are many ways to hide your activities on internet and use bitcoin for earning profit.

My friend, before opening a new thread you should structure your ideas well so that the title of the thread is congruent with the idea, reflection or doubt that you will propose in the OP.

For example, reading the title of this thread and the first paragraphs, it seems that the main issue would be the legal status of bitcoin in different countries, but in reality all this was just a preamble to the question you ask at the end: for what illegal activities can be used bitcoin?

And to be honest, that question seems extremely irrelevant to the important discussion that can be generated regarding the legalization of bitcoin.

But have you come to think of it... Whether Bitcoin can be used for illegal Activities...
What are some ways you think it can be used for? (illegal Activities) mention some.
Of course, the bitcoin is being used for illegal activities online. But doing illegal activities with bitcoin does not make bitcoin illegal at all because bitcoin is being used for good too. Criminals are using good coins and diamonds in the past to pay for their malicious activities yet bitcoin join the race. They can buy whatever they want from hard drugs to unlicensed firearms to a nuclear warhead. who cares, anyway? But don't forget people are still buying stuff like cars, houses, yachts, and so on with bitcoins.

Bitcoin is banned in just a few countries, but will soon be accepted in most countries in the world. In these countries governments as well as financial institutions recognize the benefits of bitcoin, so they cannot but accept. The countries having banned crypto are countries who have issues with democracy and welfare.
Their are several criminal activities bitcoin is involved in, there's money laundering, weapons and drugs dealing, to name a few.

Yep, it definitely depends on each country ,so we can’t consider it’s legal or illegal . We all know that bitcoin is created  by computer technology ,and even it’s still growing and becoming more and more popular all around the world. It gives all people can get approach whover they are. In some countries, cyptocurrency is accepted and it’s considered legal currency ,but some it doesn’t accept and they seem take it as illegal currency because they are afraid of the big impact that crypto take to economy. I think, every evil will always be there everywhere, as long as humans fill this world. in essence, bitcoin is created for diversity and more on its benefits based on transactions without third parties.
every evil is in one's heart and self. so wherever it is, crime and illegal acts will always be there. without exception in the virtual currency.

The bitcoin is considered a world economy asset and used mostly by everyone from small class business to standard but still some governments have not decided about it, however it is likely to be legalized in near future.
Either the bitcoin gets accepted by governments or not, we will also be able to see its existance in the market

The key question determining the attitude of the state to bitcoin is the correct definition of its legal nature. Whether it is possible to consider crypto currency as money or as a monetary surrogate is currently unclear. For example, the state approach to the taxation of operations on the crypto currency is directly influenced by what they consider - property, fiduciary (fiat) money, electronic money, currency, financial instrument or securities.

In Japan, Italy, Germany and South Africa, these countries are legal. More countries believe that the legitimacy of bitcoin is still uncertain, and some countries just regard bitcoin as a financial asset. Of course, very few countries have announced that bitcoin is illegal, which is mainly concerned about the bitcoin's impact on their country's economic system. Countries that usually declare that bitcoin unlawful are very small countries. The economic system is weak.

Of course it is legal. As long as you report your earnings and pay the appropriate taxes then you will have no problem.
There is no valid or strong enough reason for declaring bitcoin illegal for daily payments. There are many other ways people are involved in money laundering. So many renowned politicians were exposed for having offshore companies and other such businesses. People are even using cash, dollars etc. for illegal things, smuggling and all that jazz. So the legalization of bitcoin is not going to make things miserable at all.

According to the general rule adopted in most countries, legal actions in business are any actions that are not directly prohibited by law. That is, if the state does not directly recognize the crypto currency as illegal, it can be considered legitimate. However, for its legal operation, it is necessary to have separate normative acts of state power and government bodies. This is primarily necessary for the classification of this new type of financial relations and its legal place in society. Therefore, in the near future all states will be forced to consider the issue of legalization of the crypto currency and other related issues, such as taxation and the peculiarities of its circulation on the territory of the state.

Bitcoin is designed to operate with or without government approval. Russia is reported to have legalized bitcoin.

It is feared that bitcoin could be used for illegal activities such as terrorism. But even legal currencies too have been used. So it is not the nature of bitcoin that make bitcoin vulnerable to illegal use.

Many countries have issued statements indicating that bitcoin and other digital currencies are not regulated and do not exist as officially sanctioned currencies: a status that could put users at risk but would not have them violating any laws.

I strongly agree on your opinion that, the legality of Bitcoin is still a big question, legality of Bitcoin varies from country to country. And for example Bitcoin is legal in Canada,United states, South Africa and is illegal in the countries like Bangladesh,China etc. And adding also my opinion that, bitcoin is money and money can be used for both good and bad things and same goes for Bitcoin, it can be used to fund charities which is one of the most noble gestures anyone can do and can be used up to the worst things which I am not saying it here but I am sure many of you can imagine what I am referring too. In addition, You can't generalize bitcoin's legality as it differs from country to country just like what you've said, Some considers it legal tender, others don't acknowledge it and the rest are just neutral about the said cryptocurrency.

So many country that bitcoin is legal
Like Vietnam is legal to trade  and hold but illegal as payment tool
Bitcoin is very ideologically fulfilling, its the form of political activism.

In my opinion, because Bitcoin  the non-governmental launch and development, Bitcoin users who do not need their real names have somehow led some bad guys to take advantage of Bitcoin to work illegally: Terrorism, arms sales, hired killers ...Some Bitcoin founders and regulators are trying to come up with some rules for individuals and businesses when using Bitcoin as a good signal pretty.

Definitely Yes! Bitcoin in some country's are legalooking but other countries it is not recognize.  In Mexico, bitcoin is not illegal. It was recognize by the Mexican banks. The Bank of Mexico has stated that it allows crypto as means of payment, but not as legal tender. So, Mexicans are allowed to transact in Bitcoin. The Bank of Mexico is the main institution authorizing the virtual assets that can operate in the country and every user would be obliged to verify that the money that is transferred to cryptocurrency does not have an illegal origin. That is to say, anyone operating an exchange or doing business in crypto is obligated to follow the same rules as banks. They must know their client and ensure that the money is clean (not from illegal businesses or money laundering).

Legal regime of cryptocurrencies, in particular systems Bitkoin, considerably differs in the different countries. In some countries, operations with crypto-currencies are officially permitted. Usually they are treated as a commodity or an investment asset and are subject to the relevant legislation for tax purposes.

sometimes I am also confused by the status of bitcoin, legal or illegal because the government in my country prohibits the use of bitcoin as payment but they also can not control and prohibit the use of bitcoin and circulation of bitcoin

Currently bitcoin is still in the speculation of pros and cons in various countries, but I think many citizens use bitcoin and bitcoin legal policy depending on each country, because so far many countries legalize bitcoin and some that do not legalize bitcoin
You are right about Bitcoin as it is digital currency and investors invest in this for huge profit. It is just for people and not for criminals or money launderers Bitcoin says I am for people. Governments and banks are against Bitcoin but they will not defeat Bitcoin as we know that Bitcoin has survived a lot and now no chances to raise such question. It is legal because it is not drugs or alcohol etc to trade illegally and earn profit.

However, last week in my country uncovered a big scam involving Bitcoin. So, the government is issuing tight-knit orders for Bitcoin-related activities. The government has really strengthened the Crytocurrency market. Hope everything will be quickly removed.

All crimes may involve Bitcoin in the same way that all crimes might have connection to fiat currency. I do not want to make a biggie out of it because crime does not depend on the means. The means are there all the time as neutral. Bitcoin is not made as a tool for criminals just as fiat was not made for the same fools. As a matter of fact, it is not even neutral because Bitcoin is actually made for the betterment of the world.

Bitcoin is definitely legal because of the thing that it is a cryptocurrency, a currency or a kind of money, on the otherhand, some countries are banning it, but why and how? For me, the goverbment must ban the illegal activities inside the internet, because bitcoin is just a money and it can affect the people, but the activities is.

Most common illegal activity that may involve the use of bitcoin is gambling. Online gambling is one of the most popular thing in virtual world. Because bitcoin is virtual currency, it is easier to use and transact in gambling using it.

I don't think so. The Bitcoin has undoubtedly proved to be quite a significant tool in the online gambling industry. Many of the online casinos have already accepted the bitcoin payment and there is also a lot of room for the future development too. The online casino is legal in many parts of the entire world. The goal of most of the casinos is to make it quite easy for the players to deposit as well as to play their favourite online games by offering them the provision for the multiple payment currency systems which include the Bitcoin too.

Bitcoin is not legal in some countries that do not accept it. However, there are quite a few countries, regions, as well as organizations and companies that accept it as a payment method. It has a number of advantages to consider: Avoid inflation as the central bank prints money to financial institutions and corporations lend money when doing business. Do not need channel transactions. Intermediate: Reducing bank and intermediary financing costs. It is not easy to earn Bitcoin, but it is possible to "exploit" Bitcoin, computer systems that handle bitcoin transactions that consume less electricity. more than the current financial system.

It can be used by scanners that are scamming people that they can doubled or tripled they're money when they join this frauds. This is the primary reason in banning.  Also,  I think they banned it because of fearing that people will invest here more than banks available (this is not illegal,  but to add to my point).  Another illegal activities bitcoin can be used is in buying pornographic materials and in darknet or darkweb activities like child pornography and such.

Bitcoin is certainly legal in most countries around the world but there are still some goverment that dont really accept bitcoin in their country. One example is china. They dont allow the bitcoin to circulate around their banks because seventy percent of the bank shares are owned by chinese government, yet they allow the normal people to mine and trade. China has been known to be the largest trading market for bitcoin. Another example is India. But there is really no concrete reason why they banned the bitcoin. Maybe its because of the risk to their goverment or whatsoever.

What are some ways you think it can be used for? (illegal Activities) mention some.

Bitcoin is used for both legal and illegal activities. why many countries are not accepting Bitcoins means this is the reason it is more used for Illegal activities like Funding terrorist activities, money laundering, drugs dealing etc.Though bitcoin or any other crypto can still be used in illegal activities. Such as trading money that is gained illegally or scamming some people.

It is impossible to say that bitcoin is approved by many countries, but it is also not banned. Now cryptocurrency is only being looked after as a promising financial instrument. But there are some nuances that are not beneficial to the state. And it is natural that a decentralized system that cannot be controlled will be used in illegal activities.

is Bitcoin legal? Today, many policymakers in the world already know about digital currencies like Bitcoin, but many of them have not made legal or legal rules about digital currency because of the complexity of digital currencies like Bitcoin - whether Bitcoin should be set as one currency ? Payment instrument? Or investment assets? Therefore, from late 2013 to 2014 many warnings and directives from central banks and financial policy-making authorities in various countries have warned that Bitcoin has not been recognized by the state as an investment asset, instrument of payment or a valid currency.

I think Bitcoin will be legal in many countries within this year because most of the countries are taking this cryptocurrency platform as a sole consideration.

Bitcoin is definitely legal, and it made because of a main reason, to make our way of living easier and faster. Bitcoin is a currency, in which it is only a kind of money that usually used by human to buy things, pay bills etc. I think the problem is the lack of knowledge of the government that banning the bitcoin in their country. The point is the government must ban the illegal activities than banning the bitcoin.

The legitimacy of Bitcoin depends on the attitude of the monetary authorities of each country.
The further development of Bitcoin may threaten the interests of traditional currencies, and currency issuers will not give up the rights to a p2p open source algorithm. Therefore, various governments are very likely to declare bitcoin illegal.
Once the governments announce their illegality, they may have huge fluctuations in their prices in the short term. It may be a crash, or it may be skyrocketing. Because the bottom people of the country obviously have resistance to their government.
At the same time, the government’s ban will cause the Bitcoin trading platform to close. After the trading platform is closed, bitcoin can only be privately liquidated, and its ability to cash out will have a greater impact.
However, due to the unique nature of Bitcoin, it provides an excellent channel for officials from various countries to take bribes, launder money, and transfer assets overseas. In particular, under the general trend of official disclosure of property by national officials, Bitcoin provided a very good way of anonymously holding large assets.

And there are some countries that completely banned the use of Bitcoin. Many countries are not declaring Bitcoin as legal because of it's decentralized nature, no government or bank is able to track the Bitcoin transactions which make this transactions anonymous. and because of this many people use Bitcoin for illegal dealings such as drug dealing or ammunition dealing. Bitcoin is not able to gain the amount of trust fiat has that's why its still illegal in many countries.

In general, most countries in the world have yet to declare their legitimacy on Bitcoin. Global regulators have not yet fully understood the emerging industry of cryptocurrency. This is also the main reason why many countries have not commented on the legitimacy of Bitcoin. Over time, some countries that are still waiting to see their changes may eventually determine their position and set rules that either endorse bitcoin use or declare bitcoin transactions illegal. The climbing Bitcoin popularity index continues to exceed expectations. However, not all countries view this cryptocurrency in a positive light.

No bitcoin is not illegal unless if your country ban the use of bitcoin. However people are being warned about the risk of bitcoin being not a legal tender. But it doent mean that something isn't legal tender, does not mean that it cannot be used for payment. It just means that there are no protections for either the consumer or the merchant, and that its use as payment is completely discretionary.

We can't sum up bitcoin's legitimateness as it varies from nation to nation simply like what you've said. Some thinks of it as lawful delicate, others don't recognize it and the rest are only unbiased about the said digital money. Utilize case as of this present time is restricted to being a theoretical resource and a type of installment, however the last isn't clearly being honed as there are just a couple of traders and administrations who acknowledge it as an installment. It relies upon the administration on how they translate bitcoin some of the time they proclaimed that bitcoin is unlawful however others said it is alright or legitimate. Apparently, the practice is always ahead of the law, in the face of new issues, the views of the banks over the past time can be seen as not accepting Bitcoin as a legal means of payment. First of all, it is believed that when accepting Bitcoin as a currency, as a legitimate means of payment, the national sovereignty over monetary issues is compromised. to the effective management of monetary policy. Secondly, if Bitcoin is accepted it will be difficult to control, tax evasion, illegal transfers, payments, financing of illegal transactions will arise and thus state management of money , the economy will become very complex.

Bitcoin the same as conventional currency can be used for legal and illegal activities. Because, Bitcoin or fiat money is a tool to transact. as for its use it goes back to the owner of bitcoin itself.

then, the legality of bitcoin differs in every country. overall, some countries have not set the bitcoin because they have not found the right legal framework for bitcoin.

Furthermore, bitcoin is legal, but in a country that already regulates and accepts bitcoins with certain rules.

It depends on a particular country if it will become legal or not otherwise, they are not participating any matter about bitcoin. For now, my country is not accepting bitcoin at this time. I think that my country will accept it soon. I'm pretty much excited for that to happen if governments are in unity to accept bitcoin as legal all over the world then there will be no pending matters.

It can only be illegal if the country wishes to. Bitcoin's legalization varies for example if a particular country wants to make bitcoin illegal due to lot of people using it in illegal activities therefore bitcoin is illegal in their country and most likely ban using bitcoin. However if the country wishes to legalize bitcoin then they can do what they please to do. Some countries already banned bitcoin and that implies that bitcoin is illegal in there country.

Bitcoin in my country has no concrete regulation but not charge as illegal , however if this will be use in illegal activities so by this means, this will be investigated.

I think that Bitcoin is legal. Cryptocurrency is comparable to other assets,  it also enters the
market under strictly defined conditions. There is no illegal or fraudulent activity in its creation
and further trade. Over time, there will be no question of its legality. Remains the question of the
anonymity of the transfer.

Yes, it has been under hard situation to get the legality. If bitcoin becomes legal, surely the price will grow much higher in value. An example for such a price increase is the adoption that took from Japan. Once Japan adopted it, the price started to grow forward and reached the ath. The mass adoption served as an initiation point for bitcoin price.

As per the results of the G-20 meeting. Seeing the attitude of the majority of countries is not a problem and still let bitcoin activities legally, although not completely supportive, from here we can conclude that there are no obstacles that are too meaningful, there is a tendency that they tend to be interested to accommodate to be applied as what Japan has run, but with the appropriate policies of their respective countries. We just need to continue to fight for and convince the relevant authorities.

Bitcoin is totally not made legal in some countries and Bitcoin is not the only currency used for illegal activities cause the fiat are also used for illegal activities either. More over, the Chinese government don't ban bitcoin due to illegal activities and the reason why the Chinese government banned bitcoin was because they see bitcoin as a threat to their national currency because Bitcoin was flourishing there while there national currency was devalued.

Yes, majority is using it for legal purposes only. All the transactions can be traced to your bank payments you do to the crypto exchange. Still some people like to associate bitcoins with negative things. Some of the people say that investing in Bitcoins is like gambling but this is not true. If you invest for the long term like say 1 year, you will never be in loss. You can observe this trend for last 8 years. However, some people panic when price drops and thus sell in loss.

Bitcoins reside in a legal grey area within the United States. Many of the laws on the books that apply to currencies cannot apply to bitcoin, but there are questions as to whether it may be designated as a security, and hence could be regulated as such.
